Aurora Protest Update Professor Flowers 2020-07-27 | This is an update of what happened at the protest in Aurora for Elijah McClain, who was murdered by the Aurora police department on August 24, 2019. On Saturday July 25, we marched on I-225, where a jeep tried to run us over. In order to keep cars from entering the highway, the traffic was already blocked off on the side the jeep was driving on. This means that the driver of the jeep went on the highway, past the roadblocks, specifically to run us over. Luckily, Sebastian Sassi ran into the jeep to slow it down. If he had not done this, many of us would be injured and possibly dead. If us blocking traffic is so upsetting to you, that you feel the need to try to kill us, then arrest the murderers of Elijah McClain: Nathan Woodyard, Jason Rosenblatt, and Randy Roedema.
Real Talk: BreadTube, How Can We Discuss Race? Professor Flowers 2020-07-26 | UPDATE: Got harassed for 6 MONTHS by white leftists, so nah. Let's get the f-ck out of here. The goal of this video is to try to make leftist spaces more welcoming and understanding of black people, so we can all collaboratively and meaningfully discuss racism and how to end it.I also made this video as an expression of despair about how messed up the world is. The issues we’re concerned with are bigger than us. But ultimately, even if things will never be "perfect" in our lifetime, I think we can also find solace in our communities as we work together. To find that peace, I think this requires leaving behind the privilege of ignorance, and showing up for each other in meaningful ways. Ultimately, I believe that the left can be inspirational rather than doom and gloom.
