Welcome to my brand new road trip series where this Scottish Guy takes America once again, and for the first time ever I'm in Savannah, Georgia. In this video I'm sharing my first impressions!
So people have been asking me this for over two years now, and I understand why. Over two years ago now, I made some videos about the new house my folks had bought in the highlands, with promises of updates. But then the whole project ground to a halt, for various different boring reasons. And progress has been slow. But finally, two years later, here's an update on my parent's home up in the Scottish highlands. And it's still not done! Maybe i'll update you in two years from now with a fully completed house, but i doubt it!

New York holds a special place in my heart for many reasons - itβs the first place in the US I really got to know, but it surprises me every time.
Just like your favourite beach, NYC changes with the tides.
And going to the Brooklyn Bridge for the first time is always a special experience.
The Brooklyn Bridge, an architectural marvel and a symbol of innovation, stands as one of the oldest roadway bridges in the United States. Its construction began in 1869 and was completed in 1883, connecting the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn across the East River. Designed by John A. Roebling, the bridge was a pioneering feat of engineering, being the first to use steel for cable wire, and it introduced the use of pneumatic caissons for the towers. Tragically, Roebling died from an accident related to the bridgeβs construction, and his son, Washington Roebling, took over the project. Despite facing numerous challenges, including the bends, which affected workers operating under high pressure within the caissons, and Washington himself becoming incapacitated, the project pressed on under the guidance of his wife, Emily Warren Roebling. Upon its completion, the Brooklyn Bridge was the worldβs longest suspension bridge, celebrated for its beautiful Gothic arches and cable design. It quickly became an iconic part of New York Cityβs skyline, serving not just as a vital transportation link but also as a symbol of resilience and human ingenuity.
