Hello again and nice to see you! Thanks for living through these special moments with me.
Sorry for no video last week as I was suffering pretty badly from COVID. You may hear that on the video throughout - so, early apologies. This is my yard about a week and a half with no mowing. The grass that I mow I use as mulch. You will see this later in the video. The first clip was when I was most sick and there was a really nice thunderstorm I wanted to experience. You can see the beans to the left. Probably 2-3 feet tall now. I noticed my lime tree is looking a little rough so I'll probably compost her soon. You can also briefly see my cherry tree. It's been very productive lately :) The way the water flows down the palm tree is cool.
This is my tomato patch from spring/summer. It's still alive and I imagine it will start fruiting again soon now that summer is coming to an end. I also have a cherry tomato plant that is doing really well.
Next up is my watermelon!!! HUGE!!!! Follow my finger :) New flower up front is really exciting. Carrots should be ready soon too which is really exciting I planted them ages ago lol. And they survived and thrived in a FLORIDA summer! Zinnias are popping, loads more coming. Currently letting some dry for seeds. Beetles :)
Kiwi is doing amazing. I pulled off this guy at the bottom and I will try to root him. I am training these kiwis as essentially a giant tree. The vine will reach the top of my fence, and then branch out from that point. And the magic of rooting hormone :) Used rain water and you can see the kiwi cutting and the Barbados cherry tree cutting that I am currently trying to root at my new rooting station. Hopefully this is a good spot for rooting things. Time will tell.
This is my gem corn, zinnia and sunflower patch that I randomly made in the middle of summer. And it's doing really well I think. I'm excited to see where it goes. Random bug I thought was a ladybug on my turmeric.
Ginger is alive!!!!!!!!!!! If you recall it was rotting really bad so I let it dry out for like a day and repotted it and moved it to a new location. And it has worked beautifully! And some of the fruit from the Everglades tomato that I had ended up seeding as a random addition to the pot. I planted probably 4 tomatoes total so I'm glad to have gotten 1 plant. They're super prolific so I should be able to keep this guy super long term in the form of seeds and fruits :)
My 2nd Gen Brandywines are doing really well on neglect in this spot. I haven't even watered these guys... Rain has been doing all the work. And even in this pot you can see the roots are starting to come out of the bottom just slightly so we'll hopefully be transplanting lots into the ground soon.
Quick overview of the summertime area. Lettuce is still growing but has been kind of stunted. I imagine it will take off soon. Same as the basil. Papaya seedlings are massive and will also be put in the ground soon. Mango tree also has new growth which is super, super exciting.
Also quick look at a covered area where I keep mango seeds and cherry seeds. I am attempting to sprout more cherry seeds with this method. Unsure if it will work yet. Featuring my other plants in that area. Simple and quick video while I finish recovering.
