What was actually lost in the Garden of Eden?
Was it simply innocence...
—or was it something far deeper?
In Episode 5 of The Coming Shift LIVE, Rachel Baxter explores Chapter 3 of The Coming Shift, followed by a heartfelt conversation with Angie and Jennifer about humanity's separation from God, the purpose of covenant, and the hope of restoration.
The Fall wasn't merely the breaking of a command.
It introduced a fracture into every part of human existence—spirit, soul, and body. Humanity continued to exist, but no longer lived as it was created to live. The deepest problem wasn't external behavior; it was separation from the Source of life.
In the first half of the episode, Rachel shares personally why she believes the Lord led her to write The Coming Shift, reflecting on God's desire to prepare a people who are transformed inwardly and ready to become His dwelling place. She also discusses the importance of pursuing intimacy with Christ above merely understanding future events.
In this episode we discuss:
• The true nature of the fracture introduced by the Fall
• Why independence from God always leads away from life
• The Tower of Babel and humanity's attempt at unity without God
• Why covenant—not self-improvement—is God's answer to separation
• The difference between outward preparation and inward transformation
• Learning to trust, surrender, and walk with the Good Shepherd
• Why God is building a people, not merely informing individuals
• How every believer is a "living stone" in God's eternal dwelling place
This episode reminds us that the story of Scripture is not primarily about humanity trying to climb back to God.
It is about God faithfully unfolding His plan to restore relationship through covenant, culminating in Jesus Christ.
