#東方風自作曲 #TouhouStyle #東方夢旧市[Touhou Style Original] Players Scorekirbio1232025-08-29 | Hello everyone! It's been a while. Earlier this month, I've made my own Touhou 20 prediction game for my private small circle of friends to play. While I don't think I can publish the game itself (at least in its current state) for various seasons, I at least wanted to share all arrangements and original compositions I've done for the game.
Honestly, I don't know if I should label this one as Original or Arrange, as it contains both Kanako/Original Player's Score melody, but also chords and stuff from final boss theme. I've decided to go with Original myself because it has the latter's DNA more than the former. But for all intent and purpose, it's just a Player's Score theme. It's pretty upbeat, and quite unique in terms of the instrumentation and atmosphere.
And that's all of the song I've made for the game! Other remaining tracks that I didn't post are the one where I just pulled from random Touhou Style Composition, which is why I cannot publish the game in its current state. Hopefully, I can replace them all with an actual original track sometimes in the far future down the line. If you're interested to fill in the remaining tracks, please feel free to contact me somewhere else. I will be handling the final arrangement myself for the soundtrack consistency, though.
Thank you very much and see you all again next time!

For the Final Stage themes of this game, I thought it'd be an awesome idea to actually have it be an original composition. (Other tracks of this game so far that was not my own arrange were just pulled randomly from existing Touhou Style compositions, which is the reason why the game cannot be released publicly currently) I would like to give my utmost gratitude to both Armand ( @armand36000 ) and Ocha ( @tempura-ocha ) for honoring my request even under a very short notice. I've had the most fun working on this one, and you would probably notice why lol Fun fact, this stage is what sparked this entire project to begin with. I've had that transition in my head since when I first saw the Pyramid when I played the demo version and I want to make this real.
Since the "Golden Border State/Golden Land" (黄金境) is a rare variant spelling of a term commonly used to refer to "El Dorado" according to Touhou wiki, the joke pretty much write itself. And as a result, I decide to spell it out in katakana on the arranged song title as well lol
It's also very special in that it never loops back to the beginning at all. Once the style has changed, it's changed forever. Which means that I technically arranged this song two times, even for the part that doesn't play in-game unless you keeps hovering on the dialogue.

This track was my favourite out of all demo stage themes, so I've tried my best to do it justice. Since in this game, this stage is especially themed around the stars, I tried to go for LoLK-esque atmosphere. As per the last stage vid, all characters that appears are a part of my own prediction for the game. For this stage, she is themed after Ancient Chinese Oracle Bones. I don't have all character profiles ready for publishing yet so hopefully I get to publish them proper somewhere someday...

While I don't think I can publish the game itself (at least in its current state) for various seasons, I at least wanted to share all arrangements and original compositions I've done for the game.
For this track, I wanted to hone in on the "nostalgia" feelings aspect. During the pre-demo prediction, a lot of people expect ZUN to use Erhu in this game, probably from the feelings set by Biten's theme from the last game. I wanted to encapsulate that feelings here. As such, some of the chords and elements are deliberately altered to fit the new mood even more. The character art featured on the side is a part of my pre-demo prediction character. I'll probably post her full profile one day, hopefully when I can release her along with this game altogether. It's definitely not in the near future, though.
As for the track name, I directly based it on my partner's initial translation of the respective theme name from Th20 "Domicile of Beloved Dust". Which unfortunately didn't catch on as the standard translation of the theme.

I've chosen my own instrumentation set for this game, which while based on the actual Touhou 20 sound sources, are also slightly different from the original. For this track in particular, I wanted to set a unique laid-back mood that encompasses the general atmosphere of this game. This was my contest entry for Pokemon Workshop Music Contest #50 – Pokemon Breakcore Music from March-April last year that I didn't get to upload until now. It won the third place!
As you can see, stylistic-wise it's very inspired by various Splatoon 3 Side Order boss themes like 0ct0ptic0n and C0ld St0rage. I also used a snippet of the actual Team Star Boss theme at the start as well to ease into the song. I think the chopped effect does contribute to the feeling really well.

Let's start a new year with a bang, today I have brought you an arrangement of the main theme from Balatro, in a chill Bossa Nova style!
It's really fun trying to make Bossa Nova work in 7/4 time signature. The transcription was really tough because the original theme was detuned. I have also referenced the transcription by bruh1235 (onlinesequencer.net/3901416) for some background arpeggios part too.
This one was made to accompany my own Balatro mod called "UnStable", which was released slightly earlier today! The footage in the background was recorded by myself as well.
I've spent a lot of time since October making this mod. It was really fun, and I really hope you all find it quite enjoyable as well.

Hello everyone! Happy TCL Labyrinth and Sequel stage release day!
This song is a stage theme for the Sequel stage, which does not exists in the 2014 version of the album and is a completely new composition. When I first heard of it, I got really hooked by the atmosphere and wonder how it would sound if I were to "reverse-arrange" it back to the original album style.
I have transcribed everything by ear, make a new adjustment to the bassline because 2014 TCL only uses melodic bassline as oppose to some Trillian arps. As a result, I also ended up adding a few extra stuff here and there to make it feels less empty. The percussion line was completely made from scratch to make it felt more in line with the 2014 tracks, but referencing how the drums in the original version went in terms of pacing.
For the instrumentation, I mainly take a look at how each instrument "translates" between the two styles by cross-referencing between other tracks on the OST, and try to guess which one it can translate back into while keeping the same atmosphere and energy intact. I also make a small adjustment here and there to make it feels like an authentic 2014 track, especially the Stage 5 leitmotif section. I based it off the Stage 5A version of the track in particular. I initially thought to add some guitar to it as well, but it ended up feeling a little too busy as is.

#東方風アレンジ #TouhouStyle #東方宝天京[Splatoon Arrange] Reminiscing the Inkopolis Days (Maritime Memory)kirbio1232024-04-12 | Hello, everyone! I intended to upload this one a few days ago, to coincide with the closure of 3DS and WiiU Nintendo Network. However, I was unable to finish it in time. I hope this isn't too late.
I only became a Splatoon fan around Splatoon 3, so I was unable to experience the original Splatoon game on WiiU (not that I have one), but I've only heard of good things from my friends who played it. Therefore, I wanted to pay tribute to the game. It is also only fitting that Maritime Memory was also the first ever song I've heard from Splatoon as well (and is also the game's credits theme)
When I heard City of Color 23 last year, it brought back this bittersweet memory. The new melody line after the second climax repetition works really well, so I also added that to this arrangement, too.
It is definitely the end of the era. However, all the memories we make with them will stay with us as long as we are alive. ----------------------- Original Composed by Shiho Fujii and Yumi Takashi Arranged by Kirbio
Art by Kirbio[Arrange] Tonight, at Lounge 71679S (Secretary Dee -Main Theme- - The Life and Times of Wade L.D.)kirbio1232024-03-24 | Today (March 24th) is the 5th Anniversary of SiIvaGunner Christmas Comeback Crisis Side Story "The Life and Times of Wade L.D." so I brought you all an arrangement of the main theme of the episode itself. I *absolutely* adore the original track a lot, it has its own unique, more serious flair - with the synth-centric instrumentation and DnB-like percussion. But the song itself also grounded itself in the Kirby roots while featuring the iconic Ishikawa Fair Light Synth.
For this arrangement, I aimed for a more laid-back take with many jazzier elements while trying to maintain the original melancholic vibes. I've also tried to experiment a lot more with many song elements in comparison to my other stuff, from the structure - to the new solo, and the chords. Ultimately, I'm really happy and satisfied with how this came out, and I hope you like them as much as I did too.
Video-wise, I've also started to get used to After Effect stuff, which allows me to add more animated elements to the visuals. It's much subtler, but it did feel surreal seeing all the elements finally working together. However, I don't think I'll make the video visual *this* complex often, as it was a lot of work and definitely drained me quite a fair bit of my power lol

It's MARCHING time! I know I immediately had to include this one in this first arrangement batch because it's the composer's favourite track. It is unbelievably full. This is another one that I am really proud of because it can fit right into the original game style perfectly. March and Pokemon always go hand in hand, after all.
I have had a lot of fun arranging this one in particular. There are so many different instrument lines coming together. The flute thrills in particular is my favourite addition, it provide a lot of flavor on the already-solid tracks. -----------------------

This Island's peculiar atmosphere makes me really want to try arranging this one as well. It's slightly somber yet also quite mischeivous at the same time. Something like this couldn't be found often in a Pokemon game.
Instrumentation-wise, I immediately know that I had to use a Clarinet with mod wheel up for the main lead after hearing the original. However, a lot of thrilling feeling was a bit lost as a result.
I am, however, quite satisfied how this one came out in the end as it sounds very close to HGSS in-game tracks. There were a lot of different techniques used - volume automation for the lead, the pizzicato string with panned delay. I also added quite a fair bit of grace notes and embellishments onto the melody similar to how HGSS did as well. -----------------------

This original track is really groovy. It reminds me a lot of Hitomi Sato's composition. I was really tempted to make DPPt style arrangement instead, however, I stick to the HGSS style in the end because of the more thematic relevance. It unfortunately doesn't sound quite like an authentic HGSS track in the end though.
I also added the new piano solo line in the background at one part to add even more Sato-esque atmosphere, I hope it's alright. ----------------------- Hello everyone! A bit of an unorthodox project this time. The other day my friend has shown me Pokemon Fool's Gold, which is a romhack of Pokemon Crystal with everything completely changed including the inclusion of Pokemon up to Gen3 and all cross-gen evolution, and the Sevii Islands map. But what intrigued me the most is that there are a lot of really good music in this hack that made me really want to arrange/reimagine them into what-if scenario if it got the DS remake.
There may or may not be more tracks coming in the future, depend on if I would like to do more. Please keep an eyes on them! -----------------------

Contain phrases from "The Festival Starts Today" by Ocha and Slowbro, and "Fragrance of the Tide" by VCLN.
This is the bonus track theme.
The original song is an upbeat one signaling that you're approaching the festival, now it's recontextualized as the distant bittersweet memory of the festival now that everything is done. This album as a whole was inspired by Eban's Abyssal Abandoned Metropolis (youtube.com/watch?v=PzUWKigdgIE) as a way to experiment with various music styles. As my goal was to be able to make music for my own game, I didn't get many opportunities to practice and learn different styles often. So this was a nice breath of fresh air.
Since the overarching theme of this album is "Festival" (albeit an unorthodox one), I've decided to choose this track as it would be a perfect track to end the album on and double as a tribute to them.
I tried to go for a more atmospheric and ethereal approach to the song, although the original energetic jazz-iness feeling should still remain. At the last climax part, I've also put in the leitmotif from Track 1 and 2 as well as a closure to both festival-themed tracks of this CD.
Hello, Kirbio’s here. It’s been a while. This is my first time trying to make a proper Sealing Club album! It was a great learning experience.
Story-wise, it isn’t about the usual Sealing Club shenanigans. In that sense, I guess you could say it's "extraordinary"? It was a quite strange theme to work with, and I was struggling at first to put a coherent story together. However, Gilde has stepped in and helped me with a lot of things, and it made me realize that we have ended up making something quite nice.
Theming-wise, it was written straight from my experience. I am attending an International Academic Conference soon to showcase a part of my thesis work. It is stressful, but also really exciting nonetheless.
The Touhou fanworks scene has been blooming a lot over the past few years, and I wanted to make something that celebrates it as a whole. I hope that I managed to present a slice of everything, both new and old, and across all communities. (...But with only 10 available song slots, it was really hard to pick which songs to do while keeping the overall balance. (lol)) Shoutout to Ocha for helping out with some of the tracks as well, and for teaching me how to master the track. These are all completely new experiences to me!
Throughout 2023, I’ve been learning and practicing a lot of different skills such as making illustrations or making music to realize my vision. While it is not exactly perfect, I still hope that you can enjoy this homemade album for what it is.
Subterranean Hatred is one of the hallmarks in the history of Touhou Fanmade scenes, being one of the early fully-fledged scripts in the fanmade scenes. While the original song of this hasn't managed to make its way into the original script itself, it seems like it was intended to be for a staff roll theme. The original song was done in a style similar to the U2 Akiyama credits theme in Touhou Fighters, so I followed a similar direction while updating the sounds and other elements to be up to date.
Ending the fanmade-themed album with one of the songs that starts it all is kind of poetic, in a way.
As the sun began to set, the Hifuu Club's two members reviewed the list of stops on their tour.
"Hmm. I know that Atsuta Shrine was a high priority for you, but for tonight, maybe we should... start somewhere a bit further upstream? The shoreline used to go right up to the shrine's gate, after all."
"Oof, you're right. If I keep thinking about all the islands I want to visit at once, we'll probably get swept out to sea."
"Diver training in a shallow river it is, then."
Merry chuckled. "A kappa can still drown you in a foot of water, though. We'd better stop by the vegetable market and buy some peace offerings first."
"Plus a bunch of 'safe voyage' charms, for when we go sailing tomorrow night. And purple paint to draw some seiman-doman sigils with..."
Renko stifled a laugh at the mental image of them in sleeping bags near Atsuta Shrine, with piles of good-luck charms dumped on top of themselves.
"...Oh, and speaking of peace offerings. Let's make some pinwheels and dress up some jizo statues, too. In case we meet anyone who didn't make it to the surface."
As the "extraordinary" science conference draws on to a closure, Renko and Merry immediately start resuming their "mundane" days and preparing for their next journey.
The sole boss theme in this album. Initially, I would like to include more boss themes as well to balance out but then it was quite hard to pick which track to cut because everything dovetails together quite well in both atmosphere and thematically. Ocha has helped me with the transcription of this track, and he spices it up with a few extra elements and chord changes. Therefore, I wanted to include him as the arrangement credits as well.
This song was done in a classic-era Touhou style. Despite being done by a lot of composers throughout the year, this is my first time doing it. It was quite complicated and more challenging than I would have expected, but it was fun to do regardless.
So, the presenters asked. What truly *is* the shape of the universe? Was it a spanned branching tree? A folded-up, 11th-dimensional shape? A series of vibrating strings? They couldn't quite answer that question-- though they were, of course, confident that an answer was just around the corner.
Merry shifted, preparing to stand up from her seat. "Now that I think about it, would seeing the boundary of other worlds count as peeking into a whole separate 'branch?' Like, do you think those worlds are still part of our universe? Or are they something that could've been born instead of us?"
Renko rubbed her chin. "I'd assume the former until proven otherwise. Your eyes are amazing, but actually setting foot into a different branch should be a different story from peeking out at one, or exploring within our universe. We're part of this world, right? Like how plant cells are part of their branch. It'd take a lot of work and a lot of protection for a cell on one branch to jump past the bark, the thin air, and then more bark, to land in another branch."
"That *would* be a lot of work for a regular old cell. Especially if the tree is the size of a whole universe."
Renko laughed. "Yeah, there might be giant squirrels you have to watch out for out there."
"If I had to guess..." Renko paused. "I'd say that our universe and its border worlds are shaped like a lotus flower."
Merry clapped her hands together. "With a petal for each brane! Now *that's* a pretty-sounding view of the cosmos."
It was no coincidence that lotus flowers were an important symbol across many religions. The lotus symbolizes purity, divine power, and immortality. Sometimes, it's associated with creation itself. It grows up from murky water, reaches the sun and air, and blooms brightly with many layers. A symbol of something celebratory, in the midst of dark clouds.
"We're at the center of our lotus flower, the branes we can peek into are stacked around us like petals... and the other possibilities are other lotus flowers sprouting from the same root network."
"Wait, we're at the center? So we've returned to geocentrism and anthropocentrism, in the end."
"Oh, that's a fun thought. If we're *not* at the center of the flower, then who's peeking out towards us?"
Definitely the highlight of this album. It was a really fun track to work on. When I was younger, I looked up to so many Artcore producers as it is one of my favorite music genres. So I really wanted to try out making Artcore-style tracks as well. The original sounds like it is a perfect fit candidate.
Similar to track 4, I've learned a lot of new knowledge while working on this song.
You could argue that the basis of human progression is fear. Just about any invention you can name was made in response to fear of the unknown, or unease about one's current circumstances. Fire and electricity lit up the darkness, agriculture, and livestock reduced the fear of starvation, and shelters and forecasts put people's minds at ease about the harsh reality of nature.
Most people enjoying life in Renko and Merry's modern era didn't have much to fear anymore, so it was only natural that science would turn towards more philosophical anxieties. Quantum explorations of the universe's shape, the existence of an afterlife, theories on where thoughts and qualia are born from and pass on to...
Their earlier talk about the ocean had introduced a particular metaphor to Renko's mind.
Merry had said, before, that *something* strongly prevented travel between different brane worlds. Although she could see the youkai on the underside of the universe, their forms were hazy, and they'd made a consistent effort to shove her back into the waking world thus far.
It was a bit like water pressure. Humans weren't built to survive the pressure of the Challenger Deep and needed to ride down on submarines like Trieste to even hope of seeing what lay below. From this perspective, it was truly amazing that Merry had made her way to the TORIFUNE out in space... but then again, she *had* gotten scratched. A scratch was nothing compared to the crushing pressure of the ocean (or a giant squid), but it did make Renko worry about what future club activities might have in store for them.
One of the earlier slides had shown the universe as a flat plane, densely packed with information, with different facets appearing in response to different angles of "light". Another slide depicted the universe as a series of bubbles flowing down a long river.
Merry had told her about wanting to see what was in the droplets that hadn't been picked up and flung by the divine spear.
It might've been inaccurate to call them "droplets," since they'd never left the ocean below. But the ocean was still made up of individual water molecules, stacked in layers upon layers on top of each other, all making up one shifting mass. Every possibility that might've grown into a different tree, vying for space and pressing upon each other, squeezed tight with the weight of countless unborn and unchosen lives. If the universe was shaped like that...
♪ Alleyway of Roaring Waves Original Composer: Wanwan ( @wanwan44 ) Arrangement: Kirbio
Original Song: MPP stage 1 theme
This is the seventh track theme.
Mystical Power Plant is a fangame that holds a special place in my heart, being the very first fan game that was released when I came to the community. So it would not be surprising for me to represent this game in this album in some way.
For this one, I aim to replicate the instrumentation of the recent official games like Hidden Star in Four Seasons or Unconnected Marketeers. I am also really proud of how the second half came out in the end. Initially, I had no idea what to do, so I just simply went with the flow and tried different things as I saw fit. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did when working on it, too.
The pair reached their seats just in time before the show started. 'Philosophical Models of the Universe: Past, Present, and Future.'
The first segment went over classical depictions of the world: from concentric spheres filled with angels flapping about, to flat planes with water running off the edge, to layers of Hell that stretched 40,000 yojanas below the ground. While audiences in past generations may have dismissed these notions as silly, both modern scientific research and modern spiritual research have found a kernel of truth to them. Superunified physics had indeed found layers stacked high above ours, while research into boundaries produced a model of the world that resembled many overlapping bubbles. Renko and Merry playfully elbowed each other as a picture of the Flammarion engraving came up.
As the presentation moved through a brief summary of turn-of-the-century hypotheses, Merry muttered a few comments about the eternalist variant of the so-called "block universe."
"That one's scarier than the tree branches if you ask me. The whole thing, just frozen in place like that? Even the future?" "Like the Eight Cold Hells, with everyone stuck in the ice..." "Or like the jello molds on the dessert menu earlier."
The show's main attraction, however, was an exploration of extremely recent hypotheses made with the help of quantum computing technology.
Normal computers operate on concrete values. 1 means "on", 0 means "off". Even if the range of numbers goes up, the computer can still only observe one state at a time, before moving on to the next one very fast. But thanks to how particles behave at quantum scales, a quantum computer can observe both states simultaneously, and can thus compute much larger and more complicated scenarios.
...At least, in theory. Prototypes developed in the past had simply cost far too much and were impractical for general use. But the quantum computer that the presenter had brought out on stage was surprisingly small-- not much bigger than a large laptop, with a bulky, tube-shaped extension attached to its side.
Renko whistled. "I thought it'd be a couple more years before they got them that small." Merry tilted her head. "A computer that can see several worlds at once?"
"Several circuit boards, at the very least. But compared to you, I think it's still got a lot of catching up to do." "And more downsizing. My brain doesn't weigh nearly that much." "But maybe your brain IS secretly a quantum computer!" "...Don't say scary stuff like that."
These advancements were thanks to the discovery of certain subatomic behaviors in easily-procured materials. Perhaps it wouldn't be that long before quantum computers entered the market for household appliances.[Touhou-Style Arrange] FoIC Track 6: Lazy Sands of Nakanotorishimakirbio1232024-01-27 | 6th track from my Touhou-style Arrangement CD: 創造聖俗循環 〜 Fractals of Infinite Cosmos! ♪ Lazy Sands of Nakanotorishima Original Composer: Spectral Nexus ( @spectralnexus2406 ) Arrangement: Kirbio
Original Song: SP Stage 4 theme
This is the sixth track theme.
Technically a lot closer than the game's staff roll theme more than the actual stage 4 with more acoustic-oriented instrumentations. I just really love making chill tracks in general. As a result, this whole album came out a little too relaxing than I have intended (lol).
I would picture myself sitting at the beach at sunset, listening to the sea breeze as I gaze into the orange horizon. Man, I wish I could be there.
Maribel fiddled with a bean on the end of her chopsticks. "I wonder if that 'meaning' was ever the same for different people, to begin with." "Oh, I know this one. Monochrome Merry-- uh, I mean, Mary."
There's no way to tell whether "red" from your perspective matches "red" from another person's perspective, even if they're both "red". It's a puzzling thought experiment already, even before you bring linguistic relativity into it. Where does 'blue' start and 'green' end? Which direction does time flow? And do those distinctions come from the language, or does the language simply describe what was already there?
Regardless of which one came first, the act of distinguishing different words goes hand-in-hand with the act of drawing boundaries. In the distant past, before words existed, the world was in a state of primordial chaos. Then humans drew boundaries across it, splitting the world up into something they could understand. Japan's islands rose from the sea, or a small spark blossomed out across the Planck epoch, or a gargantuan deity's corpse raised Heaven high above Earth. Or something else to that extent.
And all throughout history since then, language has been used to reveal the true nature of things, or to hide away things that were undesirable for the advantaged parties of the time. From the perspective of modern man, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that the core element of the universe is "the word," not the quark.
"...And if there isn't a word for it, it just doesn't exist. Like that so-called 'virus' you caught from the TORIFUNE." "Like all the actual flora and fauna growing up there, too. Rejected as dead cats, without even a proper observation." "Written off the face of history before they were even born! Bah!"
Merry leaned back in her chair.
"I wonder what's going on in the places that were washed away by history. Maybe they're still out there on another brane river, like little islands sticking out."
The gentle breeze on Nakanotori Island's shoreline. The glory of the Yamatai Kingdom, once ruled by the famed Queen Himiko. The legendary Dragon Palace, sitting at the bottom of a deep, narrow trench.
"If only I could take a peek across those borders..."
My personal favorite released Akakyu’s track to date. It is an energetic melodically-oriented song. I aimed to replicate the feeling of the 2015-6 era Wanwan for this track, the particular style of those songs gives me a certain feeling of nostalgia.
As technology progressed, people became able to completely synthesize any food. From an ordinary bowl of rice, to miso soup with crested ibis, or even the osechi-ryouri or tsukimi dango that you'd normally reserve for special occasions-- you could have any meal, with any ingredients, any time you wanted. Just like a child would dream of. But once you actually tried it, you soon got tired of it. When the "extraordinary" becomes mundane, people's life energy constantly withers away, with nothing truly special to revitalize it.
"Wow, even the university cafeteria didn't have this many options...! You should pick, Renko. What do you want to get?"
"Good question. Today's a red-letter day for science, soo... how about Sekihan?" "Sounds great! You know, I've never had that before."
Once they tapped in their order, the food vending machine produced the festive dish almost instantly.
"Mmm, this is *so* good! The rice and the red adzuki go great together. I feel blessed with just a few bites..."
"Hey, Merry. Did you know that Sekihan wasn't always eaten to celebrate festive occasions? In fact, a lot of places in the olden days ate it after *unfortunate* occasions, since it was believed to repel evil spirits." "Mm-hrmh?" (Merry had her mouth full.)
"But most of those places eventually started eating it when good things happened, too. Maybe they were trying to reverse the negative association it had...?" "That's a nice thought." "Oh, but speaking of negative associations." Renko pointed at the adzuki beans. "In either case, the way those beans split open looked a bit *visceral*. So people would also use black-eyed peas, or kidney beans instead."
Merry looked down, raised an eyebrow, then nodded as she lowered it again. "Makes sense."
"It figures that the meaning would change throughout history, even for a special dish like this. ...Especially when you can order it out of a vending machine any time you want."
Renko sighed in agreement. "It's the feelings that count, though, y'know? It's not just the food or the clothes that make an event special. You can eat tsukimi dango any time you want, but it's not the same without looking at the full moon."
She gazed out of the nearby window, looking at the bright daytime sky with a slightly sad expression.
This track is a remake of my SiIvaGunner KFAD2 track a few years back (youtube.com/watch?v=yBmsdoJAiuc). It was supposed to be a Kuroneko Lounge-style House Set remix, although I didn't think I succeeded back then so I'm trying it out again.
Looking back, I am so happy to see how far I've come since then. The song is a lot closer to the goal than it would have been back then. I've tried out a lot of production techniques in this song as well, more elaborate usage of samples, sidechaining, etc. Ocha also came up with a new chord progression to spice things up during the climax, it works wonders.
Contrary to popular opinion, there is actually no Fuma theme melody here btw. It is all just the original song.
"There we go. Our future would've looked a bit more grim if you hadn't reminded me!" "Or if there were just a few more people taking up physical seats." "Heh. Or if you'd been a little more insistent on visiting the shrines first..." "Hey now."
With their seats safely registered, the pair decided to spend the rest of their time before the show with an early lunch. Merry scrolled through the cafeteria's menu as they walked.
"Decisions, decisions... You said that breakfast food can't change much, but what if I'd gotten an upset stomach this morning?" "Well... That'd only change things by a few minutes, right?" "What if I'd had to go to the *hospital?* Again. Um, with an actual problem, this time." "Hmm." "...Ooh, I just thought of a good one. What if I'd gone to the hospital *instead of asking you for advice back then?*"
That one gave Renko pause.
If you're of a particularly anxious persuasion, you've probably thought a few times about "how you got to your current place in life". The more you think about it, the more surprising it becomes that you even got this far in life at all.
"Yikes, you're right. What if I hadn't taken the same course as you?" "What if I'd just settled for going to a school back home?" "What if neither of us were even BORN?" "What if Izanagi had tilted his wrist just half a degree further to the right...?!" "Huh?" "I'll tell you about it later."
If the primordial soup had been just half a degree hotter, then perhaps we wouldn't even be on the same tree-- let alone the same branch. But at the same time, from our present-day perspective, those events *had* to have happened. We wouldn't be here to observe the world around us if they hadn't. A ridiculously improbable statistic becomes matter-of-course in hindsight. Our reality is just a tiny grain of sand in a vast sea of possibilities, and many of those possibilities don't even have anyone alive to observe them.

This is the third track theme.
This is my favorite track from CUoO! It complements the calm atmosphere of the stage it plays in really well. I can't help but want to arrange it, although I ended up adding quite a few too many elements that I hope the original calm feeling wasn't lost in the process (lol).
"...You *did* buy the tickets already, right?" "....."
Renko began hurriedly swiping through various screens on her tablet.
"Well, we still have an hour or two. Mind explaining a few of these to me while we wait?"
Merry gestured at a series of colorful posters lining the hallway as she sat down.
"Let's see... ah, Everett's World Lines. Now *that's* a classic. Every possible decision creates its own new timeline, like branches on a tree. They run in parallel, but they don't interact with each other."
"Different timelines? Like the world where Katō the Demon destroyed Tokyo in an earthquake?"
"Nothing THAT extreme... well, uh, maybe? Assuming the decisions that led to it started very, very far in the past. The past is what determines future events, after all. And the scale of the changes you can make is limited by the law of entropy. You need to add a *lot* of energy if you want to disturb an otherwise-isolated system for more than a few moments, and..."
"It's not that easy to fight the weight of karma, in other words."
"Ooh, yeah, that's a good way of putting it. We can change what we have for breakfast, whether it's synthetic bacon-and-eggs or synthetic steamed-rice-and-miso... but it's not gonna change which branch we're on in the long run."
"Hmm." Merry frowned.
"So if I were to make a sliding scale of fate-changing power, breakfast foods would be on one end..."
Merry held up her notebook, which was filled with a list of locations to visit that evening.
"And a butterfly flapping its wings way across the globe would be on the opposite end?" "Pfft! Yeah, something like that."
After the hype opening of the festival, the energy slowed down somewhat and settled into a more laid-back atmosphere. I'm always a fan of retro electro-bass-ish swing, and the laid-back atmosphere of the track would fit the situation really well.
While there are a lot of Touhou-style elements present in this track, it is mainly inspired by a lot of retro chiptune artists. I would like to thank Mana Kazami for making sure the PC-98 style section sounds authentic as well (as much as it can be, anyway).
In the past, people used to delineate between "mundane life" and "extraordinary events". Although much of one's life was taken up by drudgery and menial affairs, it built up to something special: a crop harvest that only came once a year, a festival that only came once every ten years, or perhaps a smaller, more personal success. Everyday concerns melted away, with nothing to tie you down for that moment.
Those moments were the ones that gods lived in. In this science-dominated modern era, there's no such thing as a god, and there's hardly any delineation left between 'common' and 'rare'.
"Looks like that booth's showing the latest Martian probe footage." "Still no Martian hotel plans on the horizon, huh?"
Workers are on the clock from the moment they rise out of bed. Marketplaces are only ever one click away. But even as those borders erode, and the era of observational science reaches it limit, scientists and scholars still gather at conferences to share the fruits of their research every year. Of course, nowadays, they're one part "conference" and one part "speculative trade show"...
"Artists' interpretations of Challenger Deep fauna? I guess they're still working on the pressure-resistant cameras." "Gahhh. I hope those shrimp don't show up in my dreams tonight."
...And most of the visitors in attendance are doing so from afar, via virtual reality. But the atmosphere is still far brighter than your average day at the research lab. Sometimes, it's easy to forget that what feels mundane to people inside the circle can look very special to people outside, no matter how big or small the topic is.
"Hey, Renko." Merry smiled as she pointed at the venue map. "This is the presentation you wanted to see most, right? With the strings?" "Yeah, that one! It was a peaceful windy morning at the Port of Nagoya. Two girls-- Renko Usami and Maribel Hearn (Merry) of the Secret Sealing Club-- were standing on a balcony by the sea, staring into the vastness of the ocean.
In this era, dumping waste into the ocean is strictly prohibited by law. While the general environment of the ocean has improved as a result, the maritime trade routes are still in full bloom, and are very crucial to the area's development. Thus, the port is still as busy as ever. In contrast to the serene atmosphere of the ocean.
"We could've visited Ise Grand Shrine or Atsuta Shrine on the way here, you know. I want to see the legendary treasure already..." "Sorry, Merry~. I just really, really wanted to fit this into the itinerary! We'll have tons of fun at those places later, I swear."
Renko rushed back into their hotel room to prepare some documents, leaving Maribel alone. Staring out across the ocean, she could see countless boundary seams weaving in between the ships on the horizon. The sunken kingdom, the lost island, even a scene from the era of the gods...
"The sea... is really mesmerizing, isn't it? They say that it's the place where all life on Earth originated from. Like a tape recorder of the Earth's memory, in a way."
If she closed her eyes and focused, she could almost see a spear being held aloft.
"Everything that we have today started from a drop of water on that spear. Rising from the nothingness of the primordial ocean, against all the possibilities that every other drop held... You could call it a miracle, of sorts.

I tried to mimic the modern Pokemon game in terms of the instrumentation, especially from SwSh and PLA while still trying to keep its original atmosphere intact. The beginning and the end section in particular mimics Alabaster Icelands 1 theme from Pokemon Legend Arceus, in which also reference Route 216 itself. I hope I did the theme justice.
I also sneak in the Bike portion from Route 216 (Night) SiIvaGunner rip as well because it works really well, and that also kind of ended up inspired me to follow through with the entire HQ Edit version lol
That should be everything for now. So, until next time, Hope you all have a good festive month. And Happy Holidays!

Recently, the 6-stage beta has been released. However, the final boss theme and the last spell theme were not done yet and the version that played in-game right now is the 2014 version. I was a little too excited and felt inspired to make my own take on the theme, which also in turn took a lot of inspiration from other Touhou-style musicians as well.
I'm really proud of the results so far. Been having so much fun adding new bits and pieces here and there, spicing up some parts of the song while trying to keep the atmosphere and energy of the original intact. The extra solo key change at the end is purely for self-indulging reasons, and I definitely do not regret doing that, it was indeed worth it.
This is also my first time trying to do a proper mastering as well. I'm still inexperienced and have a long way to go, so I hope the results sound fine.
Really looking forward to hear what the official new version of the theme will sound like in the future!

Surprise! Double feature time. I feel like if I'm doing the main Amane's theme, then I should also do a follow-up with the last spell version as well.
When I played the game itself, I found that the 7-second loop can feel a little bit repetitive really fast, so I tried to experiment with a lot of stuff to help alleviate that feeling. However, no matter how much I tried to add, the 4-chord loops still felt really repetitive.
Then, my friend @tempura-ocha came to the rescue and helped come up with new chord progressions for the looping part. Thus, the long 4-chord loops have been turned into spicy 32-bar progressions. From there, it was smooth sailing for me to slowly build on the theme by borrowing different bits and pieces from the original theme.
In the end, it kind of becomes quite different from the original, but hopefully, it still keeps its old essence in a way. I think it is probably kinda obvious which song was my inspiration for this as well. All I can say is that I can't resist, lol.
Again, I wonder what the official new version of the theme will sound like...

This is not something usually done for a standard LoFi, it seems. Even so, there are still many Lofi-like elements present within the song such as the defined piano, saw lead, and vinyl cracking. So I hope it still sounds LoFi enough to you lol.Waltz of Blistering Sands - Dream Land Memoriakirbio1232023-04-27 | Title: Waltz of Blistering Sands Arrangement: Kirbio Playlist: youtube.com/playlist?list=PLSoelSp5-zL8qvFQ3a61GNx3_jA_efPPD
Original: - Desert Stage / Sand Canyon 3 (Kirby's Dream Land 3) - Sandy Wilds (Kirby's Return to Dream Land) - Red Sands Remix (Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe)
Original Composer: Jun Ishikawa
Album: Dream Land Memoria --------- This song was made as a break in between all other high-energy fast-paced songs. Sand Canyon 3 was one of the underrated themes from Dream Land 3 and it has such a cool mystified aura around it- so does the remix in Planet Robobot too. Therefore, I aimed for a slow enchanting-like vibe waltz for this one. Since this was made around the time when Return to Dream Land Deluxe was released, I've decided to also incorporate Sandy Wilds portion of the Red Sands Remix as well.FRESH ☆ ALIVEL - Dream Land Memoriakirbio1232023-04-27 | Title: FRESH ☆ ALIVEL Arrangement: Kirbio Playlist: youtube.com/playlist?list=PLSoelSp5-zL8qvFQ3a61GNx3_jA_efPPD
Original: - A Trip to Alivel Mall (Kirby and the Forgotten Land) - Love, Love, Alivel (Kirby's Dream Buffet)
Original Composer: Hirokazu Ando
Album: Dream Land Memoria --------- This is my first attempt at the Future Bass style (in particular Ujico*/Snail's House-leaning style), down to the point of samples and even the famous chair squeak and water drop sounds. Sorry if it's getting cliche at times lol
This track is based on both versions of Alivel Mall. I originally wanted to incorporate other tracks with the same leitmotif as well such as the Waddle Dee Weapon Shop and Psychomeddler, but the track is already getting long as is.Peppermint Latte - Dream Land Memoriakirbio1232023-04-27 | Title: Peppermint Latte Arrangement: Kirbio Playlist: youtube.com/playlist?list=PLSoelSp5-zL8qvFQ3a61GNx3_jA_efPPD
Original: - Peppermint Palace (Kirby & The Amazing Mirror)
Original Composer: Hironobu Inagaki, Atsuyoshi Isemura
Album: Dream Land Memoria --------- I have done many Bossa-nova-style tracks in the past so this one wasn't particularly an experiment per se. The main inspiration behind this one, in particular, is Viridian City from Pokemon HGSS and Bubblaine from Super Mario Odyssey.
Kirby and the Amazing Mirror was my first ever video game, so this game's soundtrack has a very important meaning to me. It is quite a shame that Flagship-era music is not getting modern upgrades often outside of like, Smash and stuff. The Peppermint Palace theme was my favorite track in the game, so let's say this one was just me indulging lol.Sunset Ice Cream Break Time - Dream Land Memoriakirbio1232023-04-27 | Title: Sunset Ice Cream Break Time Arrangement: Kirbio Playlist: youtube.com/playlist?list=PLSoelSp5-zL8qvFQ3a61GNx3_jA_efPPD
Original: - Time for Dessert! (Kirby Planet Robobot) - Break Time Breakdown (Kirby Star Allies) - Sky at Sunset (Kirby Triple Deluxe)
Original Composer: Hirokazu Ando
Album: Dream Land Memoria --------- This is one of the old tracks I made for SiIvaGunner. For this one, I tried to go for the retro chiptune-ish swing reminiscent of the work of trackers artists like Vince Kaishan. There are no particular reasons why I chose to put these two songs together besides the fact that there are my favorite songs from these respective games. By the way, if you noticed. There is a Morse code hidden in the second half of the song- it spelled out "OLD ODYSSEY".Twilight Ocean Trip - Dream Land Memoriakirbio1232023-04-27 | Title: Twilight Ocean Trip Arrangement: Kirbio Playlist: youtube.com/playlist?list=PLSoelSp5-zL8qvFQ3a61GNx3_jA_efPPD
Original: - Orange Ocean (Kirby's Adventures, Nightmare in Dream Land) - Rick's Theme (Kirby's Dream Land 2) - Big Forest (Kirby's Dream Land 2) - Sunny with a Chance of Oasis (Kirby's Return to Dream Land) Original Composer: Hirokazu Ando, Tadashi Ikegami
Album: Dream Land Memoria --------- Orange Ocean is one of those tracks from the original game that doesn't get a new remix yet. I aimed for a tropical atmosphere similar to how Ice Cream Island got in Epic Yarn. Originally it was gonna be a pure Orange Ocean remix, however, it turned into a long medley pretty naturally and I am really happy with how this comes out.[Kirby Remix / Arrangement Album XFD] Dream Land Memoriakirbio1232023-04-27 | To celebrate Kirby's 31st Anniversary, I present to you all: A Kirby Arrangement Compilation Album! Today I brought you all a cover/remix/arrangement of the Squid Sisters' latest song, "Tomorrow's Nostalgia Today"!
When I first heard the song itself a few days ago, it definitely brings me back to the old Splatoon1 days when I was just looking up the Splatfests video because I do not have WiiU myself. Nostalgic.
As for the song itself, I can't resist making it a chill cafe-esque bossa-nova. Imagine yourself chilling with a cup of coffee in the Inkopolis Cafe, enjoying a brief moment of peace while watching the Square itself as the evening falls and the Splat-festivities begin.
This is also my first time trying out a lot of new tools, both song-wise and video editing-wise. It comes out decent enough, though I think it could be better in the future. I need to experiment with it more.
I can't wait for the upcoming Splatfest next week! -------- Original Song is Tomorrow's Nostalgia Today by Squid Sisters / Yumi Takahashi youtube.com/watch?v=S8VYi2ODeF4 Arrangement and Album Art by Kirbio - twitter.com/kirbio123
