This is Samsungs top-of-the-range 4K Neo QLED TV for 2022 and as such it is packed with the latest features from the company. It is a direct replacement for the outgoing QN95A from last year and in almost all respects, it is essentially the same TV, but with some minor tweaks to the Mini LED backlight and processing. As an all-round living room flagship, it certainly offers plenty of strong points from image brightness and colour accuracy, to strong blacks and decent HDR10 performance. Motion is also good and the video processing manages to provide decent upscaled images. However, the problem for the QN95B is the new stablemate QD-OLED S95B which offers all of these positives, but with per-pixel black levels and even better colour purity due to perfect blacks. Plus, due to the local dimming trying to suppress blooming artefacts from small bright areas of the image close to black backgrounds, by lowering the overall picture brightness, the usual brightness advantage of QLED isnt as pronounced as it once was, but, it still has the size advantage of 75-and 85-inch models. The QN95B is a strong QLED model that will offer many plus points for many end users, but it does lose a point on the QN95A as it doesnt quite move the QLED game on in any groundbreaking way, and the competition, even from within, is much more intense in 2022. We also find the pricing of 3,399.00 at the time of this review to be far too expensive given the competition. It is not value for money in my opinion.
