Stay With Me (Miki Matsubara) | INSANE Piano Cover PianoKage ♪ 2025-08-02 | One of the craziest, most emotional arrangements I’ve written right up there with my “Racing Into the Night” cover.This one took me a whole month to finish. “Stay With Me” (aka “Mayonaka no Door”) by Miki Matsubara is such a versatile piece that I kept getting pulled in different directions—funky, emotional, jazzy, epic. I had a full week where I almost gave up finishing it, but every time I heard the satisfying sound of the floating arpeggios I wrote in the beginning, I felt like this piece must go to finish.Originally, my arrangement started super high-energy. But after talking with a friend, I realized I needed to respect the heart of city pop—it’s a slow burn, not a sprint. So I reworked it to balance & build up more patiently, letting the groove simmer before unleashing the madness at the end (4:15)I tried my best to capture every measure & parts in the original song. Since the chorus repeats 9 times, you’ll hear different variations i added throughout the piece to keep things interesting. The 2nd half of the song starting from 2:18 is the most iconic part of the song as it was resampled for other famous AOT OSTs like YouSeeBigGirl or Bauklötze.Nothing but vibes from 2:48Finally, the best for the end - 3:20 & 3:35. These were the hardest arpeggio runs I ever had to play. I never really get hand cramps when practicing but the left hand arpeggios 3:35 actually traumatized me for the longest time 💀I’m glad I could check this song off my bucket list as the ending was a personal challenge for me & I hope you enjoy my rendition & tribute to this epic show. It took me quite a long time to arrange & perform since I tried reproducing every instrument in this condensed song onto the piano but I think my efforts were well worth it. The result is a very percussive piano arrangement filled with 3 hand techniques (0:02, 0:36, 3:53), CRAZY rapid hand crossing sequences (0:58, 2:52) with repeated notes & a groovy piano solo section (2:24). This Game - No Game No Life (w Sheets & MIDI) PianoKage ♪ 2023-06-24 | Finally, here's my version of No Game No Life OP - “This Game” piano arr. by prime Animenz (2014 version, cuz i love to suffer), featuring some personal touches, melody embellishments & rhythmic variations.I first discovered the piano versions of “This Game” & “Unravel” in 2019, which made me fall in love with anime music/piano. I was nothing but flabbergasted by the level of virtuosity that could be showcased on an anime song cover & could only Dream of playing these pieces one day.Therefore, as we hit 700 subs, what better way to celebrate than uploading one of my all time favs. I wanna take the time to thank everyone who’s been supporting my covers from the beginning & all the new subs!
