If the initial position is off you might grab the ledge after the two rolls. This will mess up your angle, but can easily be adjusted with c-up (the angle is not very specific at all). I was watching ZFG do randomizer yesterday and he mentioned that pot ISG required precise setup. It is 10 years since I last did pot ISG and I wanted to relearn how to do it. While playing around with it I discovered this method which makes it very viable to get pot ISG in most situations as adult. At the start the character is supposed to jump out from the left side of the screen, but by holding left you can cancel that movement and stay off screen. In the video I don't actually skip the boss, but you can start the fight then do this and continue the level from there. However the camera will be locked in boss view with the camera turned in the direction of the boss until you beat the final boss so the rest of the level could be annoying to TAS. Even if you defeat the first boss it would still saves quite a bit of time to do this instead of going all the way around, and then get the cards on the way back.

Should be a few seconds faster if you don't spend too much time on the extra pause buffer. There's also a smaller chance that a rock will hit you while you're waiting for the bomb to explode since you're hanging on the ledge for a shorter time period.
Steps: 1) After the cutscene wait until you can z-target then backflip and do two neutral rolls. Turn straight right, pull a bomb and backwalk. You shield drop the bomb on the frame I show in the video and after that you do the same as in Sockfolder's setup.

2) Buffer to the second explosion frame. You can distinguish this frame either by the explosion ring, or by the fact that the explosion's top hits about the midpoint of the top of the railing. On this frame, hold Z+A. (Claw grip may be required to hit pause). 3) Advance 1 frame (third explosion frame). On this frame, hold Z+R and keeping holding it. Earlier this year Neskamikaze got stuck in a door during a race and was pushed out by a skeleton. I found out that you can unstuck yourself by holding and releasing c-up. If you do this you're still in the door frame and the door is open, but you can move around.
When you walk through a door the game unloads all collisions of the previous room as soon as the door closes, even if you stop in the door frame and go back to the room you came from.
I've only managed to do this glitch on doors that are completely flushed with the wall. You do it by standing in a very exact spot when opening the door. Since the spot is so exact, there may be a similiar spot for doors that are not flushed with the wall, but I haven't found one.
Because of the limited amount of places this can be used it's not very usefull for speedruning, but I have found a small TAS timesaver using this. It saves about 8 seconds.

Then spam another holy water (no need to aim). Throw the third holy water right before he attacks you the second time (I try to do it as soon as I hear the final sound of his first attack), then finish by spamming ring melee attack twice. This is the most consistent way I've found to kill him before he goes up, but it doesn't work every time. As long as your positioning and timing are decent you should at least get his health so low that any attack kills him (when this happens I hit him with rings when he comes down to attack. NB: He'll hit you as well so watch your health). With good timing and positioning he should always die from the attacks I show in the video, but you'll probably not be able to do it every time since it's fairly precise. Even if you're too far off on the positioning to manipulate him right, you should still take him down to about half health (with two holy waters).
The second boss is easier. At the start tap left and throw a holy water (if you throw the holy water too early it will take red jewels without actually use the holy water). Afterwards jump over her while holding left. You need to land a little bit away from her so that she starts crawling. If your position after jumping over her is correct she will crawl counter clockwise (it's possible to do if she crawls clockwise to, but you'll usually be to close to her if she does that). After landing turn up-right and throw the second holy water, and turn counter clockwise while throwing and throw the other holy waters approximately at each diagonal. This part requires some practise, but is not hard once you get used to it. Even if you completely miss with one holy water it's still possible, with a little luck with how the holy waters hit, to kill her before she turns into mist. It's even possible to kill her with only 3 holy waters if you're really lucky. Killing her with 3 happens very rarely, but 4 is almost as common as 5.
I have some more boss strats to upload, which I will do when I feel like it. This cog skip is harder and riskier because you have to time it right, and if you go to early you blow up. If you go too late you will have to continue moving around the cog and can try again at the next corner.
This is slower than Carrie's cog skip but should still save over 30 seconds if you make it on the first try.Castlevania (N64) - Villa - Skip Half of the Dog FightChristianF232012-11-09 | By using the dog to boost your jump, Carrie can get over the gate. Probably doesn't work as Reinhardt since his jump sucks. Saves about 14 seconds over a good fight, which is what the second clip shows. Though doing the fight allows you to get the beef without wasting time, so if you need the beef this shouldn't be done. Also it's kind of hard, but doable with practice.Castlevania (N64) - Forest of Silence - Final Boss StratChristianF232012-11-09 | This strat was not discovered by me, it's from the TAS WIP, but I recently figured out how to do it so I decided to upload it so that people who haven't seen the WIP can see it. To do it you need to stand close to the boss and jump and shoot him right as he starts moving. You can time it by looking at his hands and head. The first time he starts running he does it when he has his hands as far down as he moves them, and after every hit he starts moving once he's finished shaking his head. This saves about 20 seconds when done well. Also for RTA it's easier if you do the other thing I show in this video, which is to unload the motorskellies by runing all the way to the boss right away. At the start of the fight run away form Actrise to stop her from putting up her crystal shield (the important thing is that you're not too close to her and that you're not going towards her, going in a circle around her is fine). Shoot her once from a distance, after she get's hit she will always put up her shield so find one of the small crystals and either jump and shoot above it to hit her or break the crystal first then hit her. Right after she get's hit run away again to stop the shield. Repeat until she's dead. When you land the nitro will explode while you're interacting with something and therefore it will not kill you. If you obtaing more nitro while in this state you enter an invincibility state where you have the nitro, but it can't blow up, and you can't be hit by anything. Unfortunately it's useless because the effect is cancelled when you load a new area, and it would only be usefull in areas that are beyond loading zones. If you use the nitro shelves to enter the "one hit death" state you get a white screen until you press start, die or load a new area.Castlevania (N64) - Actrise/Death SkipChristianF232012-07-25 | Too hard and risky to be worth trying in a non-TAS speedrun, but it should save some time for both characters in a TAS, a bit more for Carrie than for Reinhardt. If you Z-Slide of a ledge and press A pretty soon after starting the slide, the slide will continue after you fall of and after it's done you will automatically do an air jump. The distance you fall before the jump depends on how soon after starting the slide you fall of the ledge. These tricks allow you to fall further without taking damage and get past some areas faster. After canceling ocarina items, it's hard to pause buffer only one frame at a time here on emulator. This setup gives you two frames that work instead of just one, which makes it much easier to hit one of them.
