Building a LEGO Pneumatic Machine with Variable Valve Timing Nico71s Lego Technic Creations 2022-11-09 | 🔽 A LEGO Pneumatic Switchless Machine with adjustable timing, working throttle with idle mechanism, openable controls panel and building instructions. 🔽This engine is a custom creation of my own. Build around a single pneumatic cylinder, with air distribution using custom valves. The switchless valves are composed of 2 hose loops by cylinder chambers, which are operated by pushers with a single camshaft, enabling to pinch the hose to restrict the air flow. It's switchless in the sense that it doesn't use the official LEGO switch. In LEGO lingo this is called a switchless mechanism, not to say it doesn't have a switch, but to say it didn't use a LEGO switch metapiece.The whole valve assembly can rotate around the camshaft, enabling a rotation angle offset between the camshaft assembly and the crankshaft, in order to adjust precisely the timing (ignition point of internal combustion engine). The yellow wheel on the front panel controls the timing angle, with a visual indicator as the yellow connector.The model is also equipped with working throttle, which works on the same principle as the switchless valve, by using a pinched loop to restrict the air flow. It is operated by linkage which is connected to the red throttle. Mini Slot Machine using Marble Run in LEGO TECHNIC Nico71s Lego Technic Creations 2022-09-07 | 🔽 A Mini Slot Machine, using Lego marble run mechanism to define probabilities of winning.More info in the description ! 🔽This video presents my own creation : a Mini Slot Machine made in Lego Technic. It is based on a previous model I have done 10 years before. The ball (bet) is loaded in the machine with the main lever, it goes though a probability path using multiple triangle parts to create two OR gates. If the ball falls in the correct path, it triggers the hatch of the ball container and you win, if not, you lose your ball. A mechanism, composed of levers, connecting rod, gearing and ratchet help to reset the position of the hatch and lock it in position, waiting for a win ball. Lego Mechanism Animation of the Forge of Paimpont (bonus) Nico71s Lego Technic Creations 2022-06-03 | Stop Motion animation of the Squeezer and Puddler Furnance of the Forge of Paimpont using Bricklink Studio Software.Each mechanism is rotated by a fixed amount of degree, then rendered at a specific camera setting (save as option in camera position), to then being editing in stop motion video. For the squeezer for instance, I rendered an image every 15° of the crank, so 24 images for a full rotation. The increments was only 2.5° on the Furnace because the amplitude was lower.For some strange reasons, Studio tends to modify slightly the position of the camera depending of the out-box of the model, so you can see some imperfection in the rendering with some "moving" frame.I have tried to animate the model using Ldcad but it doesn't worth the time to write the python-code when comparing of the stop motion animation. The only issue is that this solution is not scalable, you can see some errors in the renders.
