I decided to go for something that mixed the feeling of industrial with a lot of sound effects, big bass, and buzzing, like you’re inside a spaceship, and retro to match the game’s visual aesthetics. I also added in a bongo because it felt a little silly and the game definitely had that absurdist edge to it. Eye to Eye [Dusttale Song] [xXtha Original] xXtha 2024-10-31 | For my second edition of the Spooky Month, I give my fans what they would not stop bothering me about for the past 2 years. Haha. For the video I couldn’t decide what style I wanted to work in, so I decided to use the “past” as a chance to do a manga style, and the “current” to do lineless, both which I don’t typically use for videos. So hopefully they work well for this once. The music is based off a lot of vocal samples that would otherwise be used in more dance music, but I liked them because having a lot of fake voices felt very appropriate for the character. I almost made it a weird time signature too, but decided against that headache. Beyond that, I’m also happy I finally got a chance to use a hardstyle kick in a song since 90% of the time I’m afraid using one in most songs would make some people’s ears explode from the sheer power of the kick. Fanatica [Error Sans | Animated Music Video] [xXtha Original] xXtha 2023-06-10 | If you couldn’t tell by the title… this might have been made as a counter to my other song Chromatica… I wanted to do some edm for Error with a mix of confusing lyrics and lack of repetition to make the song sound like the inner workings of a glitched hypocritical individual. I also wanted to make sure not to go too ‘dark’/evil and still keep a bit of a lighter tone since Error is pretty goofy overall even if he does the occasional universe erasure. Anyways, I got this idea for a song about emotions matching colours/paint, and I was like, well that’s just an Ink song. So I wrote an Ink song. Worlds End Valentine [Omori | xXtha Remix] xXtha 2023-02-14 | Around a year ago, I decided I really wanted to remix this song, and even started working on it. However, I abandoned it after a few hours through because it was simply out of my skill level at the time. Now, over a year later, I scrapped the old project and started over, and went absolutely crazy, absolutely wild with it. I had no goal other than make it as maniacal as possible and go as insane with the instruments as possible. 5 minutes and 80 instruments later, and this beautiful abomination was created. Xtale is my favourite AU and Jakei was the person who originally brought my channel the attention it needed to see viewership, so I like to think of this video as a memento to how far my channel and work has come because of that. In The Cult of the Lamb [xXtha Original | Cult of the Lamb Song] xXtha 2022-10-01 | I really wanted to try out some weird vocal effects by making a vocal sound as inhuman as possible and had just finished playing Cult of the Lamb (pretty fun game, you should check it out). Cannibal Freak [xXtha Original] [Ft. Solaria and Kevin] xXtha 2022-08-30 | I wanted to write a completely original song for a change and I was inspired to write something similar to Ghost's music. So be warned, it’s horror themed! The song tells the story of one of my characters, Mosaic (that’s their stage name), who is abruptly and unprovoked, cursed with immortality and the inability to eat anything but human flesh. Nothing they do will ever break them from their hell and resisting the hunger until they wither away and die will just make them wake up again with the same problem. They spiral from there as the inability to die and their new cannibalistic tendencies begin to chip away at their humanity and turns them apathetic to morality. They begin seeking anything that can give them thrill in their never ending suffering, so best stay away. I’m becoming very fond of lyrical songs, and very not fond of making extensive animation for the video, but it certainly brings the videos to the next level. While writing this, I did something a little different with the lyrics to fit Spamton a little more. I wanted to repeat lines throughout the songs in different ways due to his erratic speech and constant callbacks to random things. So even if the story is moving forward, sometimes the lyrics will repeat something already mentioned or explained in an earlier verse.
