As can be seen; part of a spring's linear input is converted by the gyros into torsional output causing a non Newtonian reduction of linear reaction when the gyros are running compared to when they are not.

As the - www.youtube.com/watch?v=nstIIZZadAM - gyros are not force precessed (ie; it uses gravity to reset between strokes instead of a motive force, as shown in my video here) it cannot work in space and its reset time is doomed to be slow. Motive powering is also necessary for the torque cancelling mirrored motion needed for space applications. Read my video comments regarding severe limitations for space applications.

The Smithsonian (and others) describe how the Newton's first law prescribes the motions of a pendulum; see:-
Here it states:- "When you set the pendulum swinging it will continue to swing in the same direction unless it is pushed or pulled in some other direction. (This is due to a basic law of nature called Newton's First Law.)".
First law? Third law?
I have put up a longer explanation in this video but the average YouTuber has a notoriously short attention span and this subject does not lend itself to brevity. However, if you can spare the time...............
“MacPhail’s pendulum” shows anomalies with Newton’s first and third laws - look them up! Once released, apart from tiny air resistance, the only force acting externally on the pendulum is gravity and (in my experience, at least) gravity works in a straight line in our scale of things. This is why a pendulum will normally swing to and fro in a straight line until and unless a side ways force is applied externally to alter its path. There is no external force acting sideways to change the pendulums direction of swing – unless you happen to think that you can push the pendulum’s ball sideways with the untouched supporting thread. This would be the equivalent of trying to play snooker with string! The sideways force changing the pendulums direction of swing is small but clear enough to show its effect over a number of swings. This sideways force is being created within the ball and the important thing to try and get your head round (not easy, I know, for those with some scientific understanding) is that, while there is a sideways force being created in the ball, there is no Newtonian equal and opposite force being created in the ball, hence the change in direction of swing.
There is an equal force being created within the ball by a mechanism – this force just happens not to be opposite! Perhaps the third law should read:- to every action there is an equal and usually opposite reaction.

This link shows an early prototype step on the path to developing a machine to push in space (or anywhere else) without the need to push against something or to chuck things away - like hot rocket exhaust. In theory it could run on (comparatively) never ending photovoltaic electricity. It seriously questions Newton's third law of motion and idea of the conservation of linear motion. As you will see, it shoves a weight in one direction in complete disregard of the predictions of the third law. The mechanism (the whole machine) that does the shoving does not react and move in the opposite direction as predicted by the third law but instead, after some perturbation, moves in the same direction that it shoves the weight. Eric Laithwaite was so close, bless him for his efforts to open minds but, as I did in the beginning, I think he forgot that gyros act as if they have no mass in precession and so a separate, independent, mass has to be incorporated in the mechanism, and must be moved, for it to work. This is the latest and perhaps strangest Jogglevision video so far. It is from an eleven year old 8 mm video I just found that I thought I had lost forever.
