It is a custom Pokemon based off Decamarks, one of the most infamous glitch Pokemon of the third generation. Because there are so many different variants of Decamarks, rather than choosing one out of the many thousands, I made a custom version based off some of the more well known aspects of it. It replaces Chimecho, and unlike real Decamarks, it is fully stable and safe to use.
[Pokemon FireRed] Glitch Unown (hex:19D to hex:1B7 showcase) (read description) mjdxp 2021-07-22 | Recently Glitch City Research Institute member rileyk64 created a patch for FireRed that allows the true sprites of Decamarks, the glitch Pokemon that fill the 65,097 unused Pokemon ID slots, to be seen. The Pokemon from 19D to 1B7 use Unown B-Z, ?, and ! sprites, so I have dubbed them "glitch Unown." They have varying types, abilities, stats, and EXP groups. Some crash the game with either a magenta or black screen when the summary screen is viewed, while others are more stable, being viewable without issue. All of them also seem to be stable in battle. Bulbapedia lists these Pokemon on their list of Pokemon by index numbers as the Unown forms, and it's likely that they are somehow used in determining Unown's form. Forms for Castform, Deoxys, etc. aren't listed. Minecraft 1.17 - Easy Mass Renewable Dirt with Moss Blocks mjdxp 2021-05-12 | I found out about an interesting mechanic related to spruce trees. When a spruce tree grows, it turns surrounding dirt and grass into podzol. In 1.17, spruce trees can also turn moss blocks into podzol as well. This is a new way to get renewable dirt, and by far the easiest to get it in bulk. The other ways include bartering with Piglins to get gravel, which can be used to craft coarse dirt, which can be turned into regular dirt, and growing a flowering azalea tree on a moss block in order to turn moss into rooted dirt, which can also be converted to regular dirt. This renewable dirt source is easier, cheaper, and faster than other renewable dirt creation methods. It does not require dirt to be made by hoeing/shoveling coarse dirt or rooted dirt then breaking it, as podzol breaks to dirt without Silk Touch. I have only tested this on the Java Edition.

Fallback Window Themes in Windows 10 Showcase - Aero Basic and Classic Theme mjdxp 2020-11-30 | There are two little known fallback Windows 10 themes, the Aero Basic theme from Windows Vista and 7 and the Classic theme. This video shows how to access both themes.First the Aero Basic theme is shown through setting compatibility settings to XP SP2 or earlier. This causes the window to change to the Aero Basic theme. The second way is through an MDI application, or an application with multiple child windows inside of one larger parent window (see here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiple-document_interface). This UI design was mostly used during the Windows 3.x era, but was mostly phased out afterwards. There are very few modern applications which use this UI language, but one example is the open source Windows File Manager, based on the one from Windows 3.x and NT 3.x. The child windows will use the Aero Basic theme instead of the system theme. I'm not sure why, but it could be to more easily tell child windows apart from parent windows.Finally, the illusive Classic theme is shown. It was officially removed from Windows 8 but still resides in the system, although it's difficult to access. I found it by accident while using VcXsrv, an X server program for Windows that allows for graphical Linux applications to be run on the Windows desktop. Upon trying to run programs such as Xeyes or Oclock as shown in the video, the window will be a glitchy Classic theme window. It cannot be moved around unless the move option is selected in the menu, and the window controls don't work properly. However, when the window is resized, the window can be moved again and the window controls work properly. Double clicking to maximize works, as well as tiling the window with Win+Arrow keys or by dragging it to the edge of the screen. Interestingly, the Classic theme color palette resembles the Windows Vista/7 Aero Basic theme. Actually, when Vista or 7 is started in safe mode, this same Classic theme color scheme is used. It's most likely the colors were not changed due to the Classic theme being essentially unused in 8.x and 10 except for strange situations like these. It's actually possible to change the colors of the Classic theme using the registry.

Winmine Beta and Field of Flowers - Minesweeper Variants mjdxp 2019-12-24 | Hello, everyone, I'd like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year! Here's a video I've been meaning to make for several months now which showcases two variants of Minesweeper you might not have been aware of.The first shown in the video is the only known beta of Minesweeper still in existence today. Some interesting differences include the mine and flag sprites are instead bombs. In the about, the program merely calls itself "Mines." There are also two preferences buttons, one on the About screen and one in the menus.The second is a lot more obscure and, in my opinion, even more interesting. Prato Firoto, Italian for "flower field," was an altered version of Minesweeper only found in Italian Windows releases. The version shown is from Italian Windows XP, but I believe it is also present in Italian Windows 98/2000. The main difference is all mines are replaced with flowers. I assume that Microsoft thought mines were too violent for the Italian market, I'm not entirely sure though. I also believe Prato Firoto's icon is not found in any other release of XP. Rather interestingly, the executable file is still called "winmine.exe" in system32, despite the changes made. Prato Firoto likely inspired the flower garden theme present in Windows Vista Minesweeper.I might be releasing one or two more videos by the end of 2019 showcasing a new project I began. It's not Windows related, but I hope you'll find it interesting.

Automatic Torch Farm - Minecraft Bedrock (Read Description!) mjdxp 2019-08-07 | This is probably the weirdest Minecraft farm ever.Recently DrJanCyan uploaded a video showcasing a bedrock farm which used a trick involving Ender Crystals. If the central portal fountain is full of Ender Crystals, then the portal will attempt to rebuild itself around every five seconds. DrJanCyan used another trick to break and collect the bedrock from the portal.While building the bedrock farm myself, I noticed that every time the end fountain is rebuilt, the torches which generate on it pop off and instantly reappear. I decided to try collecting those torches, which would allow for an automatic torch farm.Because any blocks around the portal get removed when it is rebuilt, and because there's not really a place to put them, you can't use hoppers to collect the torches. You also cannot put a hopper minecart below the portal, because the torched will burn in the fire produced by the End Crystals. My solution was to stack two boats and a hopper minecart on the very edge of the outer bedrock blocks to collect the torches. Technically you only need one boat, but you cannot open the hopper minecart unless you have two as the End Crystals are in the way. You will need to nudge the boats and hopper minecart as far as possible without letting them fall into the fire. The farm will produce around one torch per every five seconds. You can put four hopper minecarts underneath each torch if you want, but for some reason I found that only one of them was really producing torches at the full speed. Fake Blue Screen of Death Screensaver mjdxp 2019-04-20 | Someone in the Windows XP-C project Discord named Amaroq Starwind linked me to this pretty cool screensaver that's essentially a fake BSOD. The screensaver starts with a blue screen, then after a few seconds, it plays a fake restarting animation, then BSODs again. Pressing Space will end the screensaver. Interestingly, the BSOD and restart animation actually depends on the operating system you use it on. To demonstrate this, I ran the screensaver in Windows XP and Windows 2000. It's the same screensaver file, however they have different custom animations. I tried running this on a few other operating systems, such as Vista and 98, but I couldn't get it to work. The simplest AFK Sweet Berry farm in Minecraft mjdxp 2019-04-09 | This is the first Minecraft video I've ever uploaded, and it's a "tutorial" on an extremely simple Sweet Berry farm in Minecraft. It only requires a dispenser, an observer, and three redstone dust, as well as Bonemeal which should go in the dispenser. You can go AFK at it by just looking at the berry plant and holding the "use item" button. This will definitely work on Bedrock, and should work on Java when 1.14 is released. It's quite fast and should get you plenty of berries.I thought about it, and technically the simplest possible AFK Sweet Berry farm could be just one plant with no redstone which you stare at holding the "use item" button. Of course, this would be very slow, but it is theoretically the simplest AFK farm for any item in Minecraft.I don't think Sweet Berries have much of a use right now, I mostly just made this video just because I found it interesting just how simple building an AFK berry farm is.

We are Number One but its a Game Boy Advance Rom mjdxp 2019-03-28 | We Are Number One will never die.I made this rom with a program called Avi-2-GBA Meteo, which lets you convert video files to Game Boy Advance roms. Of course, the video quality is absolutely horrible, but that's just because of the limitations of the Game Boy Advance. I'd like to convert some other videos to GBA roms as well, if you have a suggestion feel free to put it in the comments.
Playing PC-98 Touhou Games on a 3DS mjdxp 2019-03-12 | In this video, I play the first two Touhou games on my New 2DS using the Neko Project II emulator. Unfortunately, they don't really run very well at all, I'd say Touhou 1 is at least playable up to the first boss on a New 3DS, the other games have too much slowdown to really be playable unfortunately.
