Anaria 2025-01-30 | When we first heard the song "Stay", it was at the end of the film "Insidious: The Red Door" covered wonderfully by the band Ghost, featuring Patrick Wilson (whom we love and adore). The song creates a haunting, melodic atmosphere building into a full-throttle rock ballad at the midpoint, which is a format that really resonates with Anaria. The original is by a great artist known as Shakespears Sister and boasts the same dynamics. We loved the way this song so perfectly encapsulated the Insidious franchise, and thought it was a great fit for our sound.

Anaria 2024-12-06 | When we heard Lady Gaga’s new song, “Disease”, we knew we had to cover it. Not only is the Phrygian mode a harmonic syntax Anaria uses as a part of our regular sound, but Gaga’s themes of darkness and duality are perfectly in line with many of the themes we have explored and continue to explore. The song itself already has an inherent heaviness to it—we just brought it to the next level with some well-placed electric guitars and hard hitting drums. Also, we love Lady Gaga--and Lady Gaga loves heavy metal. We covered "Bad Romance" in the past for our live show, and we are so excited to bring this version of "Disease" to the live stage.

Anaria 2024-03-29 | Anaria’s third official studio album, “Holding Cell” is a hard rock album which explores themes of isolation, breaking out of one’s own mind prison, and forging towards self-acceptance. The title track, "Holding Cell" is about breaking free of the expectations placed upon us by society and the self. Ultimately, the song is about acknowledging but letting go of the past which keeps us from making progress towards our futures. The music video, filmed in-house, features the Three Fates from ancient religion and mythology as they spin the tapestry which binds together the cycle of birth, life, and death.
