Today I'm doing what I'm always preaching by getting out of my comfort zone and heading to Bangkok's Burmese Market in Bang Bon to try some epic Burmese dishes.
First of all I want to shout out @OTRontheroad for their awesome video on Burmese food history, without which, I'd never have known about this wonderful Burmese market in Bangkok.
So today was my first time eating Ohn no khao swè, a cousin of the famous Northern Thai dish, Khao Soi and it didn't disappoint. The Burmese curries I had were fantastic and the naan bread and sweet tea took me right back to southern Myanmar!
This is a prime example of why I love Bangkok so much. There’s just so much food to explore here! Whether you are in Chinatown, the Old City, Thonburi or here in Sukhumvit, you can always find amazing Thai food in Bangkok

Phuket has some of the most diverse, easily accessible local food in the whole of Thailand in my humble opinion. With influences from China, Malaysia, the Middle East and even Europe, Phuket has some of the most interesting Thai food in any of the major tourist destinations in Thailand...IF you're willing to look for it!
Roti
Krua Hasandee (ครัวฮาซันดี้) is a local, family run Thai Muslim restaurant serving an array of Thai classics, most notably, their crispy, flaky roti with perfectly spices, rich beef and chicken curries.
Putthaisong Guay Jub (ร้านพุทไธสง ก๋วยจั๊บ) serves up some of the best kuay jap rolled noodle soup I've had outside of Bangkok and for me, this is a must visit whilst you're in Phuket:
Mee Kon Lan (หมี่โกล้าน) has been serving up the same handmade egg noodles to their faithful Phuket customers for over 100 years in Phuket Town. We tried a few different types of Thai noodles, which were all delicious but the star of the show here are definitely the handmade bamee (egg) noodles.
We ordered:
Bamee Phad Sai Kai - Stir fried egg noodles served on a raw egg with pork soup - 65 THB (£1.35 / $1.85)
You can also get:
Rad Na Sai Kai - Stir fried wide rice noodles with gravy on a raw egg - 60 THB (£1.35 / $1.85)
Sen Yai Phad Haeng - Stir fried rice noodles served without soup - 60 THB (£1.35 / $1.85)
Mingalar Coffee Shop (เมงกะราคอฟฟี่) is a great example of the different cultures that come together to make up Phuket Town. Definitely give it a try next time you're in town.

As always, I want to practise what I preach and get out of my comfort zone and try something different so I’m heading into central London to try some Bangkok classics at the highly touted Speedboat bar from the same team behind Plaza Khao Gaeng.
I was very impressed with how authentic the Thai food is here, it took me right back to the back alleys of Bangkok's Chinatown, where as you know, I eat a lot!
This is as close to close to anything I've had in Thailand and that's a big compliment I could give the team here.
For me this is easily some the best Thai food I've had in London and it's all cooked by farang!

#londonfood #thaistreetfood #bangkokstreetfoodThe Best Thai Food Experience Ever@yingsthaicookinghome2839Gary Butler - The Roaming Cook2023-08-15 | ...5 TOP KHAO SOI IN BANGKOK THAILAND 🇹🇭Gary Butler - The Roaming Cook2023-08-13 | Today I'm giving you 5 of my favourite khao soi in the whole of Bangkok. While khao soi is definitely much more famous and widely available in Chiang Mai, Bangkok does now boast some excellent versions of Northern Thailand's famous curry noodles.
A lot of people have told me that Ongtong Khao Soi has the best Northern Thai food in Bangkok but that's a bold statement! I know it's my wife's favourite though.
Khao soi is a popular dish from Northern Thailand, particularly in the Chiang Mai region. It is a type of curry noodle soup that is made with a combination of fresh and dried spices, coconut milk, and egg noodles. The dish typically includes a protein such as chicken or beef, although vegetarian and seafood versions are also available.
The broth for khao soi is made from a combination of ingredients such as curry paste, coconut milk, chicken or beef broth, fish sauce, and palm sugar. The spices used in the curry paste can vary but often include cumin, coriander, turmeric, and ginger.
The egg noodles used in khao soi are typically made fresh, and the dish is often served with various toppings such as pickled mustard greens, shallots, lime wedges, and crispy fried noodles. The final dish is a balance of spicy, sweet, and savory flavors, making it a delicious and satisfying meal.
Khao soi has become increasingly popular in recent years and is now available in many Thai restaurants around the world. However, for the most authentic experience, it is best to try khao soi in Northern Thailand, where it is a beloved local specialty.

#bangkok2023 #thaistreetfood #bangkokstreetfoodBANGKOKS BEST FOOD COURT? ✈️ 🇹🇭 Street Food Prices at Bangkok AirportGary Butler - The Roaming Cook2023-08-10 | Now you'll notice I've named Magic Garden as Bangkok's most useful food court, not necessarily Bangkok's BEST food court. Seeing there are literally thousands of food courts in Bangkok, that would be ridiculous.
The reason I'm saying most useful is that Don Muang Airport's choices when you pass security are abysmal. So, I suggest you head to Magic Garden before or after your flight to stock up on some very good Thai street food classics at very reasonable prices. This is, in my opinion, the best and cheapest food in Don Mueang Airport.
Is Magic better than say Terminal 21 Food Court? The two dishes I had were better than anything I've had there
Magic Garden is a Typical Thai food court with typical Thai prices, at least half of what you will pay if you eat through departures!
There are stalls selling duck noodles, noodle soup, pad Thai, pork leg stew (khao Ka Moo), Halal food, amazing Isan, icluding a top 5 som tum Thai and the best soup I've ever eaten in an airport - Kuay Teow Sukhothai!

#vietnam2023 #danangstreetfood #vietnamfood2 VIETNAMESE NOODLE SOUPS YOU MUST TRY in DANANG! 🇻🇳Gary Butler - The Roaming Cook2023-08-02 | Today is my last day in the wonderful food city that is Da Nang, Vietnam and I may have saved the best till last. We're heading out for two noodle dishes that all the locals here have told me are must eat dishes in central Vietnam. The first stop is for Mi Quang Mi Quang (Mì Quảng) which is a traditional Vietnamese noodle dish that originated in the Quang Nam province in central Vietnam. Big shout out to @EllisWR for the recommendation!
Second up we're heading down a little back alley for my favourite soup in the world, Bun Bo Hue (or Bun Bo Danang?) This was really clean and delicate but my favourite version actually has to be here:
It is a popular and beloved dish in the country, often considered a specialty of the Quang region. The dish has gained popularity throughout Vietnam and even internationally due to its delicious flavors and unique presentation.
The main components of Mi Quang are noodles, meat, and vegetables, all served in a flavorful and aromatic broth. Here are the key elements of this dish:
Noodles: Mi Quang is characterized by its thick, flat rice noodles, which are typically yellow in color. These noodles give the dish its distinct texture and are an essential element of Mi Quang.
Protein: The protein component of Mi Quang can vary and includes options like shrimp, chicken, pork, or even fish. The meat is usually marinated or seasoned with various herbs and spices, enhancing its flavor.
Broth: Unlike some other Vietnamese noodle dishes like Pho, Mi Quang is not typically served with a large bowl of broth. Instead, it has a small amount of flavorful broth at the bottom of the bowl, just enough to moisten the noodles and add some richness to the dish.
Vegetables and Herbs: Mi Quang is accompanied by a variety of fresh herbs and vegetables, adding both texture and freshness to the dish. Common ingredients include lettuce, bean sprouts, banana blossoms, water spinach, mint, coriander, and peanuts. These toppings are usually placed on top of the noodles and meat.
Special Sauce: Mi Quang is served with a special sauce made from a blend of fish sauce, shallots, garlic, chili, sugar, and other seasonings. This sauce is poured over the dish to enhance its flavors.
Crackers: Another unique aspect of Mi Quang is the addition of crispy rice crackers, which are typically served alongside the dish or crushed over the top. These crackers add a satisfying crunch and texture to the overall eating experience.
Mi Quang is often served with a side of fresh lime or lemon wedges, allowing diners to adjust the acidity level to their taste preference.
As with many traditional dishes, there can be regional variations in the preparation and ingredients used, but the essence of Mi Quang remains consistent—a flavourful, satisfying noodle dish that showcases the richness of Vietnamese cuisine.
Bún Bò Huế is another popular Vietnamese noodle soup, hailing from the central Vietnamese city of Huế. It is a flavorful and spicy dish that has gained popularity not only in Vietnam but also around the world due to its unique and delicious taste.

#vietnam2023 #danangstreetfood #vietnamfood🇻🇳 THIS IS WHY THEY DONT EAT PHO FOR BREAKFAST HERE!Gary Butler - The Roaming Cook2023-07-31 | Today I want to show you a different breakfast dish in vietnam from the typical Pho (which I love obviously) and this one will be very popular with westerners I'm sure. It's called Bò Né and literally means “dodging beef”, as in dodging the splatter of butter and oil as the beef is sizzling on a hot pan when it's brought out to your table. Bò Né is essentially a vietnamese fry up and I love it!
If you haven't had Bò NéI think you definitely have to forget the hotel breakfast and try it at Bò né bò kho nướng bơ 91 while you're in Danang

Chợ Cồn, or Con Market, is a very local market in downtown Danang selling a variety of different things like homeware, dried goods, clothes and of course, being Vietnam, copious amounts of food!
Everyone at the market (pretty much) was super friendly, as is everyone in Danang and all had a laugh and a joke with me about my poor Vietnamese language skills.

#vietnam2023 #danangstreetfood #vietnamfoodTHEY SAID I CANT EAT THIS! 🇻🇳 Funky Fermented Fish Noodles in DanangGary Butler - The Roaming Cook2023-07-25 | Today is my second day in the wonderful food city that is Da Nang, Vietnam and we are getting right out of our comfort zone. We're heading out for two dishes that all the locals here have told me that foreigners like me can’t eat. The first stop is a funky fermented fish noodle dish called bun mam at the most famous place for this dish in Danang called Bún Mắm Bà Đông. This tasted almost exactly the same as plata and pa dark in Thailand / Laos and is seriously pungent!
The second stop is for some bun dao mam tom which is a pungent fermented shrimp paste sauce served with pressed noodles and a variety of herbs and other goodies to dip.
I'm not sure why every Vietnamese person I asked said that I shouldn't eat it as it's too 'stinky' but this was probably the best thing I ate the whole time I was there.
If you are travelling to Danang, or Saigon or especially Hanoi, I would 100 percent say you have to try bun dao mam tom, it's amazing!

#vietnam2023 #danangstreetfood #vietnamfoodNO PHỞ in DANANG! 🇻🇳 Try These Epic Local $1 Noodles Instead + Bonus Banh Mi FEASTGary Butler - The Roaming Cook2023-07-20 | Today I want to show you a different noodle dish than just the classic PHỞ in Vietnam. Now don't get me wrong, I love PHỞ. I think it's PHỞ - nomenal but when you are in central Vietnam, especially Hoi An or Danang, you have to try Cau Lau!
If you haven't had Cau Lau, they are thick, chewy noodles with a really interesting story, native to Hoi An which is 45 mins away from Danang.
I’m pleased to say that I also found an amazing thit xui (pork belly char xui) banh mi which has to be top 5 banh mi I've had in Danang waiting for me at the same shop!
The history of Cau Lau is deeply intertwined with the city of Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in central Vietnam. While the exact origins of the dish are not entirely clear, Cau Lau has a unique history that reflects the cultural influences and trade connections of Hoi An throughout the centuries.
One prevailing theory is that Cau Lau was influenced by Chinese traders during the 17th and 18th centuries. Hoi An was an important trading port on the Silk Road, attracting merchants from China, Japan, Southeast Asia, and beyond. During this time, Chinese traders brought different culinary traditions and ingredients to Hoi An, including the thick, chewy noodles similar to the ones used in Cau Lau.
Another theory suggests that Cau Lau may have been influenced by Japanese udon noodles. Some believe that Japanese traders and merchants who visited Hoi An might have introduced the concept of thick rice noodles to the local cuisine.
Regardless of its exact origin, Cau Lau has evolved over time and integrated local Vietnamese flavors and ingredients, making it a unique dish specific to Hoi An. One critical aspect that contributes to the distinct taste of Cau Lau is the water used to prepare the dish. As mentioned earlier, the water drawn from the ancient Ba Le well is believed to be the secret behind the authentic flavor of Cau Lau.
The Ba Le well, located within Hoi An's ancient town, is revered by locals and considered the "soul" of Cau Lau. It is said that the water from this well is used to soak the ash that is used to make the noodles and cook the pork, giving them their unique taste and texture.
Throughout its history, Cau Lau has remained a beloved dish among locals and tourists alike, and it has become an iconic symbol of Hoi An's culinary heritage. Today, you can find Cau Lau being served in many restaurants and street food stalls within Hoi An, where it continues to delight visitors with its rich flavours and cultural significance.
We’re back in Danang for a quick visit. I hope you all enjoy the videos!

Today I headed out with @dannbangkok to Nonthaburi around a 40 minute drive from Central Bangkok to try some of the finest Khanom Jeen Nam Ya Pu (crab curry with fresh rice noodles) you are likely to find anywhere.
The restaurant is called Tong Nam Ya Pu - โต้งขนมจีนน้ำยาปู สาขางามวงศ์วาน 19 (สาขาแรก) and as the name suggests, they specialise in Khanom Jeen but they also have some amazing pad kaprao as well as hoy jor (fried crab and pork in tofu skin).
If you are in Sukhumvit or Lad Prao, they also have branches there but we wanted to try the original and it didn't disappoint!

Today I'mI'm heading away from the tourist areas in Bangkok to a little area called Talat Phlu in Thonburi. We're going to be checking out a really local Thai market, going to a 100 year old coffee shop as well as trying loads of different Thai dishes and snacks.
It's really want you to see how well Thai locals treat you when you're away from the tourist areas of Khaosan and the Sukhumvit Road.
About the area: Talat Phlu is a neighborhood located in the Thon Buri district of Bangkok, Thailand. Thon Buri is situated on the western banks of the Chao Phraya River, and Talat Phlu is one of its prominent areas. The neighborhood is known for its vibrant local atmosphere, traditional markets, and convenient transportation links.
Talat Phlu is primarily a residential area, with a mix of low-rise housing, townhouses, and apartment buildings. It offers a more relaxed and authentic Thai living experience compared to the bustling city center of Bangkok. The neighborhood has a strong sense of community, with local residents often engaging in small businesses and street food stalls.
One of the highlights of Talat Phlu is its namesake market, Talat Phlu Market. This traditional market is a popular destination for both locals and tourists. Here, you can find a wide array of fresh produce, meats, seafood, and other food items. The market also offers clothing, accessories, household items, and local handicrafts.
In addition to the market, Talat Phlu has numerous street food stalls and small restaurants where you can indulge in authentic Thai cuisine at affordable prices. From classic dishes like Pad Thai and Tom Yum to various grilled meats and seafood, the neighborhood offers a diverse range of culinary experiences.
Transportation in Talat Phlu is convenient due to its proximity to major roads and public transportation options. The Talat Phlu BTS Skytrain station provides easy access to other parts of Bangkok, making it convenient for both residents and visitors to explore the city.
Overall, Talat Phlu is a vibrant neighborhood in Bangkok that offers a blend of local charm, traditional markets, and easy access to transportation. It is a great place to experience the authentic side of Bangkok and indulge in delicious Thai cuisine. ________________________________________________________________________

Today I'm doing heading to Bangkok's Little India (Pahurat) to search for some unique Burmese noodles called Tofu Nway (Tohu Pyaw) a think chickpea flour sauce dressed noodle, khao swe (dry) and Lahpet Thoke (tea leaf salad). All for 150 baht!
First of all I want to shout out @OTRontheroad for their awesome video on Burmese food history, without which, I'd never have known about this wonderful Burmese market in Bangkok.
This is a prime example of why I love Bangkok so much. There’s just so much food to explore here! Whether you are in Chinatown, the Old City, Thonburi or here in Sukhumvit, you can always find amazing Thai food in Bangkok

Today I headed to Thailand's biggest seafood market and processing plant, Thale Thai Market (ตลาดทะเลไทย). The market is located around 45 minutes to an hour outside of Bangkok, on the way to Hua Hin so if you're heading down that way, or coming back, it's well worth a stop.
Thale Thai Market is really quiet (at least when I arrived), well organised and very clean. It has an array of fresh seafood that you can get cooked to order.
I got the Goong Pad Prik Gluea (Prawns with chilli and salt) for 400 baht and it was honestly amazing.
To get to the Talay Thai Market, I would advise driving or taking a tazi as there is next to no public transport from Bangkok.

Today I’m joined by @dannbangkok to try some raw beef laab (laab dib/dip) for the first time! We headed down to one of my favourite Isan restaurants in Bangkok’s Talat Phlu area, Pa Ni Charcoal Roasted Chicken - ป้าณีไก่อบโอ่ง, to try the raw beef bile salad as well as Pa Ni’s other Isan specials, Gai Ob Ong (roast chicken), Kor Moo Ob Ong (roasted pork neck), and Som Tum Pu Plara (papaya salad with crab and fermented fish sauce) and everything was fantastic (except the bile maybe)!

Today I want to show you an absolute street food hero in Bangkok's chinatown. Jae Wan has been out selling her epic Moo Ping (pork skewers) in the same spot for 33 years.
Now moo ping are everywhere in Bangkok and as much as I love them, they are all pretty similar usually. Jae Wan's are a step up with tender chucks of pork shoulder, punctuated with fat to keep them moist and grilled low and slow over Mangrove charcoal. These are up there with some of the best moo ping I've had in Bangkok and I've had a LOT!
At 13 baht per skewer these are well under a dollar, or pound in my case!
Next up I headed (unsuccessfully) to Kha Moo Sai Tua and even though I didn't film there, I would highly recommend you go there to try their epic pork leg stew.

Today we are heading an hour out of Bangkok to the infamous Rom Hub Market, better known as the Maeklong Railway. #bangkok2023 #thaistreetfood #bangkokstreetfoodHOW GOOD IS BANGKOK’S MOST FAMOUS KHAO SOI? 🇹🇭Gary Butler - The Roaming Cook2023-05-10 | Today I'm doing something a little different. I've teamed up with fellow YouTuber and Chiang Mai native @dannbangkok to see if Bangkok's most famous Khao Soi at Ongtong can stand up to my pick in the area at Hann Khao Soi Lovers.
A lot of people have told me that Ongtong Khao Soi has the best Northern Thai food in Bangkok but that's a bold statement! I know it's my wife's favourite though.
We both agreed that the khao soi at Hann Khao Soi lovers is the best but I'm sure you will be happy with either.

Today I want to show you an altogether different side to Bangkok than the Khaosan road, the shopping malls and the glitz of the Sukhumvit Road!
Today I headed to the Wat Tha Phra area of Charan Sanit Wong Road to have perhaps the best Rad Na (gravy noodles) and Pad See Ew (fried soy sauce noodles) I've ever has in my life, cooked by Uncle Nueng (The Gravy Noodle Master).
Cost: 85 THB - $2.25
Before that I had some khanom kroc (coconut puddings) which were great. Cost: 25 THB - $0.75
I finished of with a Cha Yen Thai (iced Thai tea) Cost: 25 THB - $0.75
Pad See Ew and Rad Na are two popular dishes in Bangkok and throughout Thailand that are often found in street food stalls, restaurants and food courts.
Pad See Ew is a stir-fried noodle dish made with wide, flat rice noodles, egg, vegetables such as Chinese broccoli, and a protein (usually pork). The dish is seasoned with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sometimes a little sugar. It is typically served with chilli flakes, vinegar, and fish sauce on the side to add to taste.
Rad Na is a dish that features the same wide, flat rice noodles as Pad See Ew, but they are smothered in a thick gravy made from soy sauce, yellow bean sauce, garlic, and a starch like rice or tapioca to thicken the sauce. The dish usually includes the same vegetables and protein options as Pad See Ew. Rad Na is known for its rich and savoury flavour.
Both Pad See Ew and Rad Na are very popular dishes in Bangkok, and they can be found in a variety of different settings. Whether you're in a food court, a street food stall, or a sit-down restaurant, you're sure to find these delicious and satisfying dishes on the menu. ________________________________________________________________________

If you’re not familiar with Hananese chicken rice:
Khao Mun Gai is a popular Thai dish that consists of poached chicken served on a bed of rice cooked in chicken broth, typically flavored with garlic and ginger, and accompanied by a bowl of clear soup and a spicy sauce made from soybean paste, chili peppers, garlic, and ginger.
Khao Mun Gai is a classic street food dish that is found throughout Thailand, but it's especially popular in Bangkok, where it's commonly sold from food carts and small restaurants. One of the best-known places to try Khao Mun Gai in Bangkok is Hainanese Chicken Rice in Soi Tanao, which has been serving this dish for over 50 years and is highly regarded for its flavorful chicken and fragrant rice.
Other popular places to try Khao Mun Gai in Bangkok include Khao Man Gai Pratunam, which is located in the bustling Pratunam shopping district and is lauded for its tender chicken and generous portions but for us, Singapore Chicken Rice By Chef Pung is SO much better. The rice alone here sets it apart from most other Khao men Gai in Bangkok.
Overall, Khao Mun Gai is a must-try dish for anyone visiting Bangkok, and there are plenty of great places to sample this delicious and satisfying meal throughout the cit and ข้าวมันไก่สิงคโปร์ by CHEF PUNG สาขาท่าพระ by MRT Thai Para is the perfect place to start!

Today I'm doing what I'm always preaching by getting out of my comfort zone and heading to Sukhumvit in Central Bangkok in search of some authentic Thai street food.
I'm headed to the upmarket area of Phrom Phong to try two very different back alley noodles. One is a super famous pork noodle soup shop, famed for its highly flavourful broth. The other is an unknown northern Thai restaurant serving up a seriously great khao soi.
Rung Rueang Pork Noodle (Left Shop) didn't disappoint, the dry Tom Yum were great and the soup was as flavour packed as expected! This is one of the best pork broths you'll find in Bangkok at this price point.
Two bowls with orange juice was 140 thb £2.90 / $3.65
I also at the Northern Thai restaurant, I had Kanom Jeen Nam Ngiow (pork in tomato broth with rice noodles), laab kua (Northern laab salad) and Sai Ua (Chiang Mai sausage). The Nam Ngiow was top 5 I've had anywhere!
The whole khao soi/Northern Thai feast came to 250 THB - £5.82 / $7.32 which is crazy cheap with the centre of Bangkok!

Today I want to show you 6 of my favourite noodles soup shops across Bangkok so that you can get this amazing Thai street food classic no matter where you are in the city.
#1 Pee Nam Waan Tom Yum Noodles
First we're down a back soi for some unbelievable tom yum noodles at Pee Nam Waan Kuay Teow Tom Yum for 50 THB a large bowl - £1.16 / $1.31
Next we head to Baan Yuan or Vietnamese Village to eat a super rare version of Guay Jub Yuan with fish instead of pork. I have never seen these 'Vietnamese' noodles with fish anywhere and to make them even more unique, they come in chicken stock, not pork stock. This is Thailand's answer to Bánh Canh in Vietnam. To get to the noodle shop:
Not technically in Bangkok but it's so close I had to include it. I headed to Nonthaburi to a canal-side restaurant called Baan Suan Ing Naam (บ้านสวนอิงน้ำ), a beautiful little spot on the canal in Pak Kret serving excellent boat noodles.
Directions and opening times to Baan Suan Ing Nam (บ้านสวนอิงน้ำ)
#4 Guay Jub Nam Khon Jae Ju (ก๋วยจั๊บน้ำข้น เจ๊จู)
Guay Jub Nam Khon Jae Ju (ก๋วยจั๊บน้ำข้น เจ๊จู), as the name suggests, is famous for a Thai-Chinese rolled noodle soup called guay jub (sometimes spelled kyay jub, kuay jab or guay jap). The difference here compared to the more famous Mr Joe Crispy Pork and Nai Ek Rolled noodles is that this version comes with a rich dark broth with Chinese spices.
Directions and opening times for the restaurant:
Guay Jub Nam Kon Jae Ju 292 ซอย เจริญนคร Khlong Ton Sai, Khlong San, Bangkok 10600, Thailand goo.gl/maps/Gp3sirFEtfGGFwNL8
#5 Guay Tiew Na Soi This crazy popular Thai chicken noodle soup buffet is crazy good value, starting at just 50 baht or around $1.50. For that you get a giant bowl of Thai chicken noodles and then you can top it with as much as you like. For an extra 30 baht, you can get the special which with get you a whole melt in your mouth chicken leg as well.
#6 Wat Dong Mun Lek Beef Noodles ร้านก๋วยเตี๋ยววัดดงมูลเหล็ก:
Wat Dong Mun Lek Beef Noodles is a 70 year year old Thai beef noodle soup kuay teow neua ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเนื้อตุ๋น with @keis one and what an experience it was!
We tried the beef noodles with everything 80 baht, the kobe and shank special 130 baht and beef satay 100 baht per 10 skewers.
This was the best satay I've had in Thailand without a doubt and the kuay teow was insanely good as well!

Today I'm heading to what could be Thailand's most underrated province, Uthai Thani for an unforgettable boat ride up the Sakae River as well as sampling the excellent local Thai food on offer.
I'm going to show you a Khao Kluk Kapi, a Thai rice salad, for the first time ever as well as visiting the most famous street food restaurant in Uthai Thani town. We then get some street food from the Uthai Thani Walking street which is such a friendly, fun little street (that's only on weekends).
The Sakae Krang River is the main river that flows through Uthai Thani province. It originates in the Sankambeng Range in the southern part of the province and flows for about 230 kilometers before it merges with the Chao Phraya River in Nakhon Sawan province.
The Sakae Krang River is an important source of water for the people of Uthai Thani. The river supports agriculture in the region, and many farmers rely on it to irrigate their crops. The river is also used for transportation, with boats and rafts carrying goods and people up and down the river.
In addition to its practical uses, the Sakae Krang River is also a popular destination for tourists visiting Uthai Thani. Visitors can take boat tours along the river to explore the region's natural beauty and visit historical sites such as the Wat Chantaram temple, which is located on the banks of the river.
Overall, the Sakae Krang River plays an important role in the economy and culture of Uthai Thani province and is a significant part of the region's identity.

Today I'm joined by the one and only @Chai_Travel as we head to the amazing Thai food paradise market of Don Wai in Nakhon Phathom. There is so much amazing local produce here as well as Thai street food classics for as far as the eye can see. We grabbed two half ducks, one stewed one grilled as well as a plethora of other dishes. Don Wai is without a doubt one of the best food markets I know.
Don Wai Market is a popular floating market located in Nakhon Pathom province, Thailand. It is situated on the Tha Chin River, about an hour's drive from Bangkok. The market is known for its traditional Thai food and fresh produce sold by vendors on boats.
Don Wai Market has a long history, dating back to the early 20th century. It was originally a trading post where farmers from the surrounding area would bring their goods to sell. As the market grew in popularity, vendors began using boats to sell their wares, giving rise to the floating market we know today.
One of the highlights of Don Wai Market is the food. Visitors can sample a wide variety of Thai dishes, including grilled fish, noodle soup, curry, and many other street foods. The market is also known for its desserts, such as the popular mango sticky rice.
In addition to food, visitors can also find fresh produce, flowers, handicrafts, and souvenirs. The market is open daily from early morning until late afternoon, but it is best to visit in the morning to avoid the crowds.
Don Wai Market is a popular tourist attraction, but it still maintains its traditional charm and authenticity. The market offers a glimpse into Thai culture and is a great place to try new foods and shop for unique souvenirs.

THIS IS REAL BANGKOK STREET FOOD!
I've taken you to some backstreet Bangkok street food spots but this epic noodle soup shop, in the On Nut area of Bangkok, might just take first place in the most unique street food location yet!
Today we are under the Sukhumvit Soi 50 Expressway Exit at a little make shift street food recipe selling delicious beef and pork noodle soup called, wait for it...Noodles under Sukhumvit 50 Expressway (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวใต้ทางด่วนสุขุมวิท50)
So I had both the melt in your mouth, 5 hour stewed beef noodle soup (neua ton) and the marinated pork (moo mak) and both were exceptional. I really couldn't split the two in terms of which was best so you'll just have to order both and decide for yourselves!
This is what I live for. Getting out and discovering these hidden gems for you lot and it makes it even better that I finally found one in Sukhumvit!

Want to know the best places to eat Pad Kaprao in Bangkok? I've got you covered. Saying THE BEST PAD KAPRAO would be ridiculous, there are literally thousands of stalls selling the unofficial national dish across Bangkok. What I can give you are MY PERSONAL FAVOURITES to put you on the right track to the perfect pad kaprao.
Today I want to show you 7 of my favourite pad kaprao shops across Bangkok so that you can get this amazing Thai street food classic no matter where you are in the city.
#1 Khao Klom Kaprao:
First we headed to Khao Klom Kaprao for some 29 baht - £0.84 / $0.94 Pad Kaprao which was unreal for the price. It’s even cheaper if you don’t get an egg at 29 baht
Next we headed to Original Kaphrao กะเพราแท้ 1993 for some 89 baht - £2.09 / $2.48 Prawn Pad Kaprao which was unbelievable for the price given the 6 massive prawns in the dish. It’s even cheaper if you don’t get an egg at 79 baht

#3 Ped Mark
Next over to the Ekamai district of Bangkok to check out @MarkWiens restaurant, Phed Mark (เผ็ดมาร์ค) and I brought another YouTube legend with me, the one and only @PaddyDoyle.
The Pad Kaprao served here is a little different than you might be used to due to the high heat cooking and less sauce used. The resulting dish is drier than you may be used to, which you may or may not prefer. I love it this way!
Here is a link with directions and opening times to Ped Mark:
Next we headed to ยายเฉื่อย by MommyMeaw for some 50 baht Pad Kaprao which was unreal for the price. It's actually one of the best pad kaprao I've eaten in Bangkok this year. I was joined by the legend that is @EllisWR
This may actually be my favourite on the list just for how unique the kaprao is here! Wutthakat Road by Talat Phlu is where we're at and it's pretty spectacular!
(no longer a truck but they are still there on a motorbike)
Can you think of anything better than a couple on the back of a pick up truck whipping up plate after plate of incredible Thai Street food classics like Crispy Pork Pad Kaprao. The team at Suki Rod Det by Wutthakat BTS station in Bangkok are doing just that. The Pad Krapao moo krob here is amazing but the Suki Haeng (dry Sukiyaki) is a bundle of absolute charred perfection. Khao Pad (fried rice) is also wildly popular here with the locals.
This is Bangkok done properly people! Not many people know Wutthakat but it's near Talat Phlu and is an amazing up and coming little Thai street food area in Bangkok.
Chef Ple at Gypsy Basil (กะเพรายิปซี) has just moved from the back of a truck to a new, permanent residence but is still smashing out the same level of intense wok burning mastery that he's always done!

Today's video is part of a longer upmarket vs budget hotel review that I'm working on so I'd like to say a big thank you to the sponsor of the video, Dion Chapman!
Want to know where the best hotel Thai food is in Bangkok? I've got you covered! Today I'm at Bangkok '78, the onsite restaurant at Vignette Collection: Sindhorn Midtown Hotel Bangkok to try their retro Thai menu.
I would say, for my personal preference for restaurants (think the opposite of a 3 star Michelin) this would be up there with some of the nest hotel food I've had in Thailand.
The menu is great, with some pimped up versions of Thai classic dishes and the prices are't dissimilar to what you'd pay in a Thai seafood restaurant in Bangkok. Bangkok '78 is a great place, in my opinion, to take family or friends that don't want street food but still want a legit Thai food experience in a nice but not overly stuffy environment.
I would definitely say that the Gaeng Pu Bai Chaplu and the Pad Woonsen Naem were the two must eat dishes. The Pad Moo Nam Liap (Chinese olives with minced pork) was also a standout.

Today I'm doing what I do best and getting out and about where the tourists don't go in the backstreets of Bangkok. Today I headed to the small but famous Wat Ang Kaeo (วัดอ่างแก้ว, a Buddhist temple on the Thonburi side of Bangkok, Thailand, neaby BTS/MRT Bang Wat. I'm not here to make merit, though, I'm here to eat a serious bowl of Tom Yum noodles, slap bang on the side of a local canal at a place called Tang Charoen Riverside Cafe (ตั้งเจริญ คาเฟ่ริมน้ำ)
This lovely local family has been slinging bowls of these spicy, sour Thai noodles for over 70 years and are super popular in the area.
The noodles are 40/50 baht depending if you get an egg.

For 69 baht - £1.60 / $2.00 at at ร้านปอเล บางมะขาม Porlay Samui you can have as much beachside curry with khanom jeen as you want as well as a dessert. For an extra 25 baht, I’d suggest getting some of the excellent gai tod (fried chicken) on offer here.
at ร้านปอเล บางมะขาม Porlay Samui is located directly on the beach with unrivalled in koh samui and offers what i think is the best value street food, or in this case BEACH FOOD that ive found on the island.

Today I’m back in my new favourite THAI TOWN, Phetchaburi. Phetchaburi has just been awarded World Heritage Status as gastronomy city in Thailand, making it one of only four provinces to have such a distinction. After my second trip here it’s easy to see why. Phetburi has SO much great food, it’s almost comivcal that no tourists come to explore here. In my opinion Phetburi is one of the best places to explore Thai food in the whole country, far better than the nearby beach towns of Hua Hin and Ch Am.
I was joined today by @JBWanders73 and @dannbangkok as we visited my favourite beef noodle joint in the area - ก๋วยเตี๋ยวน้ำแดงเจ๊กเม้ง (น้ำพุ)- for some local Kuay teow nam daeng, or red noodle soup and an incredible Lod Chong and local palm sugar ice cream. Both we INCREDIBLE.
Please take my advice and stick Phetchaburi on your list for your next trip to Thailand.

Today I want to get you as far away from the Khaosan Road, Sukhumvit and Siam tourist areas. We're heading to BTS Wutthakat so I can show you another reason why Bangkok may just have the best street food in the world!
Where else can you find street food of this quality, this cheaply and with this much variety? Only in Thailand!
Today I had Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles) with seafood, somtum with sweetcorn, Thai waterfall salad (nam tok) and Pad Kaprao. All were absolutely fantastic.
With Talat Phlu Market just around the corner, this area of Thonburi is one of the best I know in Bangkok for Thai food.
Give Wutthakat BTS Station street food a go next time you're in Bangkok, you won't be disappointed! ________________________________________________________________________
