Western Maryland 1309 Frostburg Flyer Winter Service 1-7-23 NS Reading Line Railfan 2023-01-11 | I made a trip to the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad on the weekend of Jan 7th and 8th to ride behind, photograph and chase the famous Chesapeake and Ohio Mallet # 1309, which has been restored to operational condition by the WMSR for use on their passenger excursion train which runs 16 miles each direction between Cumberland and Frostburg Maryland. On this weekend the 1309 would be flying black flags for the loss of TVRM's staff member George Walker who passed away in a tragic accident at the TVRM's shop just 2 days prior to this weekends trip. In his honor the 1309 both flew the black flags and also wore a Southern 3 Chime Long Bell whistle in his honor. Delaware Lackawanna: Alcos to East Stroudsburg 12/27/22 NS Reading Line Railfan 2022-12-31 | Headed up to the Delaware Lackawanna on Dec 27th, the railroads first day back in operation after the Christmas holiday to catch 3 of the railroads 4, 6 Axel Alcos take the PO74 over the Pocono Mountain Main and all the way down to East Stroudsburg where the crew would outlaw and tie down for the night. Night action on the Reading Line 11-11-22 NS Reading Line Railfan 2022-12-16 | Headed over to Emmaus with some friends to catch NS 200 with an SD70ACE with a P5 along with a UP AC4400 trailing and the ac4400 would then lead west bound, we would also catch ns h44 with an sd40e and sd40-2 with a long train sounding real good screaming up grade. RBMN 2102 stack talk and wheel slip 10-29-22 NS Reading Line Railfan 2022-11-08 | Headed out on oct 29th 2022 to take a ride behind Reading and Northern 2102 between reading and Jim Thorpe and return. The fall foliage was just at peak time for the area, and it was a brisk fall morning and once we got north of Tamaqua the 02 started to slip real hard, coming into east mahanoy junction we were down to less then walking speed. With the booster fully cut in the crew was able to gain control of the train and take back off to track speed once again with out needing the diesels to assist that were following the train. A Day on the NEC 10-14-22 NS Reading Line Railfan 2022-10-18 | A few friends and i headed down to Edison NJ where we would spend a day Railfanning Amtrak's North East Corridor. Over the course of 8 Hrs we would see almost 70 trains between Amtrak and New Jersey Transit. Over the course of the course of the day we would see Amtrak's Regional trains, Amtrak's Acelas, Amtrak's Pennsylvanians, Amtrak's Long Distance Trains, NJT Bi-Levels, NJT Commit Trains, and even some NJT Arrow Cars. We would even catch the Amtrak ACS-64 # 606 that is currently wrapped for the King Tut exhibit in Washington DC Twice. This was my first trip to the NEC and I plan on making a few more returns before the first generation Acelas get replaced with the new Acela sets being delivered to Amtrak at this current time, Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy!

RBMN 2102 Schuylkill Haven Borough Day 9-24-22 NS Reading Line Railfan 2022-10-03 | Headed up to schuylkill haven for the borough day celebration with RBMN 2102 taking charge of the train this year. Typically in the past 425 has done the excursions for the borough day but with 2102 being fired up from running a coal train the day before, 2102 would be used for the days excursions between Schuylkill Haven and Port Clinton and return. RBMN 2102 Schuylkill Shifter NS Reading Line Railfan 2022-09-30 | On Friday Sept 23rd RBMN brought out the 2102 and would take it up the Pottsville branch to cressona yard where they would bring a 50 car loaded coal train back to north reading. Before picking up the train the 2102 would go up to the Port Carbon Wye and turn the engine to face south, after the coal train got into reading they would follow the NRFF north to Wye at Haucks to face north again for the schuylkill haven boro day trips the following day. RBMN 2102: Tamaqua Mine run 8-19-22 NS Reading Line Railfan 2022-08-23 | Headed out first thing Friday morning to Tamaqua to catch the PNEX with T1 #2102 pulling a mixed coal train from the mine and take them down to North Reading Yard where they would put them at the south end of the yard before returning lite power to Port Clinton before getting a diesel to go wye the engine later on in the afternoon. RBMN Iron Horse Rambles Double Header with 2102 & 425 8-13-22 NS Reading Line Railfan 2022-08-15 | Headed out to catch the Reading and Northern's Iron Horse Rambles on August 13th 2022 which consisted of EX Reading T1 # 2102 and ex GM&O Pacific # 425 along with a 19 car passenger consist. The train would travel between Reading Outer Station and Jim Thorpe where the train would be Wyed and locomotives serviced before the return trip. The crews of 2102 and 425 would put on an awesome performance for the thousands of railfans chasing and riding the first double header on the RBMN since the 80's. NS 6E4 with CP 7022 NAVY SD70ACu 7-26-22 NS Reading Line Railfan 2022-08-06 | Headed out to catch the CP 7022 SD70ACU trailing on NS 6E4. CP SD70ACU # 7022 trailing behind NS D9-44CW 9446. CP 7022 started life as CP SD90Mac # 9146 before being rebuilt and repainted into an SD70ACU and was unveiled by CP on Remembrance Day 11/11/19. 7022 is painted in the Royal Canadian Navy “Shipside Grey” with oxide red under frame to represent the scheme used on the Royal Canadian Navys battle ships. This is the first of the CP SD70ACUs to make an appearance on the NS Lehigh line, there are also 4 other military inspired schemes and 2 CP Heritage scheme ACUs that CP has in service along with a fleet of standard CP red painted units. Was able to catch 7022 at CP Burn in Allentown where it would go yard side and into the Allentown yard where they would take a pause at CP JU at the East end of the yard before going and tying down on the layoff track in Bethlehem’s River Yard. UP 1988 Katy Heritage on the Reading Line 7-15-22 NS Reading Line Railfan 2022-08-06 | Headed out to hang with some friends once we heard the UP 1988 Katy Heritage unit would be on NS 11K, We were hoping it to be on the head end but it would wind up being the mid train DPU for 11K, still cool to see a UP Heritage unit on NS as far east as allentown in 2022, we would hang out for a few trains shortly after 11k before bagging it for the night. K5LA & EX CR RS3L Runbys 6-18-22 NS Reading Line Railfan 2022-07-28 | Headed out with my friend again to record some of his horns, the ex Conrail RS3L has been Featured on the channel before but this time it is running ABF (All Bells Forward. Im hoping to be purchasing the RS3L in the near future off of him to start my horn collection. The K5LA is a round tag 48K series which dates it from around the 2006 era. Rumor has it the K5LA came from a CSX YN2 AC44 but no way of really telling. both horns were recorded at about a 1/4 mile away passing by and again at about 1 mile heading towards the camera. Both cameras recorded at the same time so its simply 2 differant distances of the same runbys. Ohio Railfanning Adventures: Day 3 Around Fostoria 6/4/22 NS Reading Line Railfan 2022-07-27 | Headed back out around Fostoria for our last full day before heading home where we would get lots of good CSX action including SD40-2s, UP Olympic Torch unit, and CSX 3194 Police unit along with some NS action. we would put on a small chase for the UP Olympic torch unit and grab it in one more location north of fostoria before returning back to fostoria for dinner and lots of trains into and through dark! Ohio Railfanning Adventures: Day 2 Around Deshler 6-3-22 NS Reading Line Railfan 2022-06-13 | On day 2 of our Ohio railfanning adventure we headed our way out to Deshler Ohio where there was yet again another set of diamonds this time it was where CSX has a North, South line crossing their own East, West line. This was a fairly hot spot to sit at, however we would venture south a few times throughout the day to capture some of the final days for the C&O, B&O CPL (Color Position Light) signals on this line that are still in use. we would see 23 trains throughout the whole day, and would miss many more due to our small chases and spot changes. We would even find an EX Reading GP39-2 working solo on a local not far south of deshler and that would of course be the cause for a small chase! I hope everyone enjoys and thanks for watching!

Reading and Northern 2102 The Return of the Iron Horse Rambles NS Reading Line Railfan 2022-05-30 | Headed out on Saturday May 28th to witness the first of 4 Reading and Northern Iron Horse Rambles trips that would be pulled by the 2102. 2102 would have a 19 car train to pull unassisted from north Reading to Jim Thorpe and return. 2102 put on a great show despite the dreary weather. Allentown & Auburn First freight car for Kutztown Foundry 5/26/22 NS Reading Line Railfan 2022-05-30 | On Thursday May 26th 2022 the Allentown and Auburn received their first gondola for the Kutztown foundry. This would be the first time in a little over 4 years that the foundry would be getting a car. This car happened to be filled with couplers.. Yes train couplers, they were rough cast and brought to kutztown to be cleaned up, and assembled before distribution to customers. The ALLN EMC SW # 206 was built in 1937 by Electro Motive Company or EMC. That was before EMD for those curious. 206 is the only operational EMC SW surviving, it is also the oldest operational diesel in revenue freight service in the entire country. 206 and its crew would pick up the gon and their usual clay car from the interchange with NS in topton, set the clay car out in the run around at their shops in topton, couple to a B&O wagontop caboose to be used as a shove platform and go to kutztown. Once the gon was spotted inside the foundry gate 206 would do a little switching in kutztown and grab a few pieces of equipment that had to go back to topton with them, which would make for an interesting consist for the return trip. thanks for watching and i hope you enjoy!
RBMN 2102 Test run, 100 car hopper jet 5/20/22 NS Reading Line Railfan 2022-05-24 | I headed up to the RBMN on Friday may 20th to see a sight that is what modern day railroading is all about... a steam revenue freight train. 2102's assignment for the day was to take 99 empty coal cars from just south of Port Clinton to Tamaqua and return to Port Clinton with 50 outbound loads. 2102 with CEO Andy muller Jr behind the throttle, the pair would put on a tremendous show for the few railfans who were lucky enough to catch the northbound move with 99 car in tow weighing in at about 2200 tons. The return trip with 50 loaded hoppers would weigh in at about 5000 tons. 2102 put on a great show, so be sure to sit back and enjoy the sound of 2102 at work on its first revenue freight train. Railfanning around Lancaster 5-13-22 Ft. Private Car on Amtrak NS Reading Line Railfan 2022-05-20 | Headed out to lancaster with some friends to check out a steam tractor show along with doing some railfanning along the Amtrak Keystone line. Managed to see 4 amtrak trains, 2 regionals and the Pennsylvanians in each direction, the East bound Pennsylvanian had a NYC Private car Hickory Creek on the back end heading to NYC. An hour on NS 5-12-22 NS Reading Line Railfan 2022-05-19 | Headed out to see what action i could catch on NS in an hour or so worth of time on a Thursday afternoon. wound up see the Weed spray train, a local, 2 manifests and an intermodal in just under an hour and a half. Delaware Lackawanna RS3s in passenger service on the Carbondale Line 5-6-22 NS Reading Line Railfan 2022-05-08 | Headed up to the Delaware Lackawanna to chase a rare movement. It was rare for 2 reasons, 1 the train would have 2 of the DLs RS3's as the power. 2 because it was a passenger excursion on the Carbondale Line which almost never happens. The RS3's in charge would be Numbers 4103 and 4068. It has been over a year since the last time the RS3's were ran, so knowing they would be out on the line was a must see! The trip was for a railroad lock and key convention that would be held in Carbondale over the weekend and the RS3's would take the convention goers from Carbondale all the way down the line to Scranton where they would make a brief stop at the newly built Von Storch shops where the DL maintained their all alco roster. the trip would then run over to the south side where the old shops are located where they would run around the train and head back to Carbondale. Chasing ESPN Perkiomen Branch w ex CR GP10 7554 4/29/22 NS Reading Line Railfan 2022-05-08 | Headed out to Emmaus to chase the ESPN Perkiomen Branch job back to East Greenville after a heads up from a friend that the EX CR GP10 7554 was out on the branch and on its way up to the Interchange in Emmaus. GP10 7554 was Originally built for the NYC and was later on absorbed into CR, Today it still wears its original CR Blue paint. This unit is a rarity to see out on the branch and is mainly used for switching in East Greenville. Currently the GP18 that they typically take up to the interchange is down for some major maintenance so 7554 has been putting in all the work lately doing switching as well as trips up to the interchange about twice a week. 2102 test run to Jim Thorpe 4/8/22 NS Reading Line Railfan 2022-04-13 | On Friday April 8th Reading T1 # 2102 was out on the Reading and Northern after it’s rebuild doing a test run between Port Clinton and Jim Thorpe and return with about an hour stop in Nesquehoning at the KME fire truck company that will soon be closing its doors, 2102 would stop to show the employees the engine and allow mr muller to get off and walk the property (word on the street is that he will be buying the property once KME moves out) they would then continue on to Jim Thorpe for lunch and to run around the caboose before heading back to Port Clinton. North Jersey Trip 3-2-22 NS Reading Line Railfan 2022-04-07 | Had to make a trip to North Jersey for work on 3-2-22 so after i had finished up work for the day i spent about and hour and a half trackside. Spent about 15 minutes at RFP (Ridge Field Park) on CSX before hearing that the NJT CNJ GP40-2 was going to be making its way up the main to Waldwick.
