The police noticed the doorknob and door plate were wiped very clean, as well as the door around that area. They also noticed that the enetire row of apartments had a thin grime covering the door knobs and plates. About 8 inches from the ground they saw what looked to them like a drop of blood spatter. Back across the street at the 1122 King street, detectives noted that the drop of suspected blood on Jack Showalter's door matched the drop of blood on the bannister of the King Street House. This was by visual appearance, so possibly the height and weight of whatever the blood came off of, would have been around the same. Police applied for a search warrant for Jack Showalters apartment. The warrant was approved only for presumptive blood testing. With this warrant, detectives would only be able to enter the apartment IF the drop tested positive as blood on a presumptive test. They were not able to accomplish that and the detectives had to leave. If that was blood, perhaps it had been washed off with chemical cleaners just as the door and doorknob above, but perhaps not as well.A week later, on November 23rd, 2022, a maintenance worker from the apartments where Jack Showalter lived, called MPD and told them that he and another worker went in the apartment on Novemvber 22, 2022 to fix a water problem, and they notice multiple blood smudges in the bathroom. Police were able to get a full warrant to search the apartment based on this and they did search Jack Showalter's apartment. The police took over 90 swatches from those and additional suspected blood smears, splatter a patches around Jack Showalters apartment. One thing that really jumps out at me about this is from my first reading when I see a redhead behind a light pole. I always wondered about that. (January 23-24, 2025) He’s accused of murdering University of Idaho students, Ethan Chapin, Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen and Xana Kernodle in November 2022, in Moscow, Idaho.Bryan's attorneys want all the evidence in the case thrown out, and they throw the entire pot of spaghetti at the wall to see if anything sticks. Bryan Kohbergers DNA was found on a knife sheath under the body of one of the victims, Maddie Mogan.That presents real problems for the defense as it makes it impossible to claim that Bryan Kohberger did not stop at 1122 King Avenue and slaughter four innocent college students. The DNA bolsters the already 51 Terabytes of evidence against Kohberger, including cellphone pings, and multiple surveillance cameras that prove Kohberger was indeed in the neighborhood of the college students on the night and time of their murders.Bryan's defense even tried to argue that the FBI should not have picked up Bryan's garbage in Pennsylvania, which, in an effort to conceal his crimes, he put in the neighbors trash bin out on the street. Anybody who watched any cop shows from the 1960's to current knows that once garbage is put out on the street it is given up, no longer owned, not the property of, and is now public property and no warrant is needed for that, so that was a baseless arguement.Further efforts are made to smear the surviving victims of this horrendous slaughter, based on that on a Saturday night they had a few beers, and then went to sleep. Apparently, according to the defense they should have had their senses about them in order to relay the exact sequence of events. Of course, the attorneys and anybody working with violent crime knows that even witnesses of violent crimes most often go into shock, and eyewitness testimonies are the least reliable.
