REPORT ON SYDNEY SINKING BY AUSTRALIAN DEPARTMENT OF DEFENCE DEBUNKING ANY AND ALL CONSPIRACY THEORIES: https://www.defence.gov.au/sydneyii/finalreport/
If you have any issues with my takes on the “alternative theories” of the sinking, take it up with the report. I have only scratched the surface of debunking them compared to what is contained within it and all my information comes from it. Volume 3 is where all of the debunking is, the first two are their research and findings that they then use to debunk the conspiracies. I have not read the entire report, but I have read the parts I needed for the video and it is a really good read. You’d assume a DOD report like this would be very dry and make any topic boring, but it’s actually really good if this is a topic you’re interested in.

After a long wait, I have returned to cover the story of the first successful (technically) military submarine the H.L. Hunley and the mystery of it’s sinking. Although it did kill a bigh fuck off warship, it killed 4x more operators than enemies and was most effective at sinking itself. For this video we have a first on the channel, input and interview clips from two leading experts on the Hunley, Dr Rachel Lance and Michael Scafuri. Please check their respective organizations and books below, they both have done excellent work with the topic and if you are interested in the Hunley they have a ton of material on it. It’s been a long break, and I appreciate all the emails and comments I’ve gotten showing support and concern, but I have a lot planned and am looking forward to a lot more videos. Be sure to share this one around and I’ll see you soon on the next one!

"Contemporary German militarism flourished briefly with its recent ally, National Socialism, as well as or better than it had in the generals of the past. Many of these have made a mockery of the soldier's oath of obedience to military orders. When it suits their purpose they say they had to obey; when confronted with Hitler's brutal crimes which are shown to have been within their general knowledge, they say they disobeyed. The truth is they actively participated in all these crimes, or sat silent and acquiescent, witnessing the commission of crimes on a scale larger and more shocking than the world has ever had the misfortune to know." -Arthur Comyns Carr
Well, this is the next to last video of the series, as I worked on it I am doubting the wisdom of doing the "minor" allies as this video took a long time and was very difficult for two reasons. First, apparently cameras were a rare sight in these countries because clips and even photos were HARD to find. Normally when I can't find visuals for a specific thing in a video I'll do my best but I'm alright with some holes as long as the basis of the visuals are accurate to the topic, but on this one in the first draft I had next to nothing and it makes me worried about the allied countries. But second, this video became tedious around country two, with similar stories across the board and it makes me worry about the Allies video because I don't want it to just be "Shermans/British tanks 2 The Video". Yes, there are some examples of domestic production in places like Canada, but I don't want to have another one that is a big repeat like this one so I may merge the conclusion video with the Minor Allies video depending on how it begins to form as I work on it. Anyways hope you all like it. Sorry about the bamboozle with Finland, but it really didn't fit in here by definition and didn't want to lump it into a place it didn't belong. I'm sure they will be covered one day. Hope the situation wherever you are is okay and that you all are staying safe and I'll see you all with another one soon. Also happy Hitler's birthday everybody.. and actually it's mine too.. really bad luck.. I'm 25 ._.

A short(ish) one to kind of spur a discussion and talk about one of the often left out aspects of the success of the Germans early in the war. As I said in the video, this is one of many reasons they were able to have the effect they had early on, but a very big one from where I stand as it is the basis of quite a few cultural things in the army that had influences that were far reaching.

Another video in such a short amount of time! I'm on a roll! I do realize that I mention towards the end of this video that I would be citing sources from now on, and its unfortunate that it automatically looks bad like this, but there really aren't any sources to cite. I guess I could get real specific and cite information on this historical process and the different types of sources and get really technical about it, but what I plan to do for sourcing in the future is more to source specific claims that my thesis rests on. And even though it kind of goes against the whole point of the video, I guess you can't technically quantifyably prove that history isn't written by the victors with a source like you could a historical fact. But it will become the norm in the future. I hope everyone's okay with me using WWII footage in the background almost like commentary channels use gameplay in a lot of their videos, just something as a place holder to keep the visuals engaging. I honestly should've filmed myself talking on this one and made it more of a commentary-esque video. I just haven't gotten comfortable on camera enough yet to trust myself doing that with such an important topic in that medium. The footage that is on there is of an old WW2 German training film called "Men Against Tanks" and I'll put a link under this paragraph to the web page that I got it from (just scroll down a little it'll be down the page with some other training films) and I was able to get most of it in the video and I think its a really cool piece. Oh, before I forget let me get my description tags in. History is not written by the victors, history is written by the victors, ww2, eastern front, historical study, peer review, panzers, men against panzers, potential history, meme tanks, germany could not win ww2, ww1, historical debate. Thank you to everyone that commented "The Panzer II is on fire" in the last video to show you read the description. I always love doing inside jokes like that and seeing people's confused responses if they didn't read the critical part. Also the music on the last one I challenged people to guess what it was on that video was the "Leningrad Symphony, Shostakovich's 9th I believe? Not sure off the top of my head but it's by him. Anywhoo, hope you enjoyed the video and another long rambling description, I feel like this one will get the Lost Causers and Wehraboos really mad and can't wait to see it happen. Along with people who don't understand how history works. It may kind of blow up too, since it's such a common misused phrase that nobody really challenges like they should and we could have another "Germany Could Not Win WW2" on our hands haha. Thanks for stopping by, and thanks for a great 2019 even though it's been kind of rough for me, and my video schedule hasn't been where it needs to be, I'm taking active steps to change that in 2020. I'll see you next year!
Men against panzers (the main video that a lot of the footage was from) a WWII training film about how to take down tanks as infantry. Follow the link and it will be towards the bottom with some other training films, its an automatic download, and it's safe it won't give your computer any problems. germanmanuals.com/Links.html

This wasn't a video I really planned on doing, I was really happy with and had a lot of fun making the Barbarossa series and felt the way it ended was sound. However, a month or two ago the host of the "Stories of the Second World War" podcast reached out to me and asked if I wanted to do an episode with him. After a few E-Mails back and fourth, we settled on the topic of Barbarossa and making it a kind of wrap up to the series. So it's a very different kind of video to what I normally do, with no jokes and more academic discussion, but I'm really happy with it and it has made me think that I may do something like this with the end of series in general. Obviously not on a podcast or necessarily with anyone else in the video, but possible answering questions and responding to comments I see repeated on the videos multiple times in the previous videos. So if you don't mind, let me know what you all think of this and if you would like to see this kind of thing in the future. If I do more they will be much more similar to my normal videos but keep the more academic aim. On an unrelated note, does anyone read these? I mentioned it in the NI video, but apparently tags don't really do much for your video anymore since people spam them, and next to the title, the description is what really gets your video connected to search results. So I've been putting the "Tags" in the description as well and will be under the links below. As a result of giving the description more attention because of that, I've been writing actual descriptions as well talking about the video and want to know if anyone is reading them. So if you are, would you kindly comment "The Panzer II is on fire"? I just want to get a rough idea if anyone does. I know generally I sure don't unless I have a question about something in the video and like, want to know the title of a song that is in it. I am very much in the minority in that though because I list all notable clips and music I use and constantly still get comments asking about it so I know it's really not that common. It makes me feel bad for Ian from Forgotten Weapons, because he writes really detailed descriptions about everything he covers in the video, but nobody probably really reads them. Even if nobody does I'm still going to do it. I really like getting conversational with them like this. There's a channel called Funhaus that I watch a lot and they really get conversational and meme all their descriptions with stuff like " Enough already. James' sexuality is none of our business. So what if he's only attracted the veiny crease formed between bicep and forearm while making a muscle. Good for him. More non-muscle creases for the rest of us." and other than that only has twitter links and I really like them memeing their descriptions to that level. They also do multi part stories over like twenty video descriptions with links to the videos the previous parts are linked below it. it's really cool. I probably won't get that intricate, but I like doing more with them than I did before. While I'm here I'm going to go ahead and list my "Tags". Potential History, Meme Tanks, Barbarossa, Eastern Front, Red Army, WW2, Wehrmacht, Panzer, T-34, KV-1, KV-2. Anyways, Thanks for watching and Reading. See you on the next one. Don't forget to comment! Even if it's bad, I like to hear from everyone.

If anyone speaks Russian and would be willing to translate the page, send me a message. The auto translation is rough and I’d love to read a version that’s not butchered and put it up somewhere the english speaking internet can find it.
This video has been super rough to get through, finding reliable information was difficult resulting in about three total script rewrites with many more partials trying to find a good balance between reliable information (which because there is so little meant a very broadly defined video) and good details (that are iffy on weather or not they are true) and it was a nightmare. After that the issue of footage became a problem. Luckily, Will Kerrs (Channel Link and video Link below) uploaded all NI footage that could be found which saved me some time but the real challenge came with finding any footage at all of Romanian troops in ww2. I am shocked how little there is. The few bits I could find were maybe 30 seconds in a few German propaganda reels per reel for like 5 reels and most of it is really uninspiring, I have no Idea what I am going to use for the Minor Axis Allies Tank Meme video, because there is literally nothing out there and it was maddening. Then I decided to do that Histories Mysteries intro, that I’m super proud of, but it was really really hard and time consuming to do. I’m a better editor as a result, but it took more days and restarts than I would like to admit. There were also a lot of facecam reshoots as I would rewrite the script. The bits that made the video were probably the third and a few times fourth time I had filmed those segments. I thought because it’s a tank with a short story, it wouldn’t be too difficult but boy was I wrong. This was tough. Anyways, I heard that tags on youtube don’t do much anymore and the best way to keyword your videos is to do it in the description. So feel free to skip this bit. Tank files, Germany Could Not Win WW2, Bob Semple, Barbarossa Series, Meme Tanks, Eastern front, Siege of Odessa. IDK if that helps any but I guess we will see. Thank you for watching the video and if you’re one of the five people that bothers to read the description, thank you for reading it. Hope to have a few more vids out before the end of the month and finally be on a normal schedule. 2019 had been kind of rough for me, and I’m working on making 2020 a lot better. Have a good holiday season (Reeee no merry christmas!!!!!) and I’ll see you soon.

Everyone is too mean to the French, France was a good boy. They have a really good win loss ratio through history, and only got boned when the Germans flipped the script. They should have paid attention to what the Japanese were doing with tanks during the invasion of Manchuria though, then they may have seen what was coming. Then again in their defense, even Japan didn't pay attention to what Japan did with tanks in Manchuria.

I decided to save him the time and asked if he would like to do a livestream debate instead and call me out on what was incorrect and give me a chance to defend my points. We gave ourselves a few weeks to gather sources and picked a day and found a moderator., my friend Kreeger Kast (Link Below) who was kind enough to fill the spot. When the day came though, I quickly realized this was not going to be what I had expected it to be. The first oddity was that most of his sources were non formatted Wikipedia links (see below), which was worrying, and everything that followed was pretty much what you would expect from someone using such weak sourcing. When he wasn't simply agreeing with whatever I said, even things that went directly against the points he made in his video, the points he made were very vague and incoherent. He never really gave a clear argument on how Germany could have won the second world war, instead he just kept saying it "wasn't totally impossible" without going into how. The things he did discuss were Spain joining the war (how that would have helped with their weak economy and inability to equip their soldiers I have no idea), The British just giving up after a few weeks of fighting following Sealion, because people never fight harder for their homeland! In fact I believe Churchill's speech really went "We shall fight on the Land, We shall fight on the Beaches, We shall fight in the Air, but if they land here three weeks resistance max and we're out!" Anyways, it gets dumber and dumber from there and I wouldn't blame you if you wanted to avoid this one. Giving someone this much attention for making one bad video wasn't worth it because it was exactly what he wanted. Since then I've seen a few more made by others and I know they want a debate and 15 minutes of my attention to grow their channels, and it probably wouldn't be happening if I didn't do this. I got baited. But, now I know, and I won't make the mistake again. And hey, at least we got some laughs out of it. "Spain is the key to Axis Victory" is a good joke and a good chuckle, so it wasn't all useless time. So if you do watch this, I hope somehow you enjoy! And if not, good move.

A look at the two big OOfs of the American Civil War and an attempt to decide which one was made in better faith. This week, we laugh at the “Bozo the Clown” of the Civil War, General Ambrose Burnside with those absolute units on the side of his face. Along with Lee’s overconfidence and various armchair historians like myself that judge the actions of military leaders while having absolutely no real world experience with 19th century warfare. All while taking a look at two large mistakes in the American Civil War: Pickett’s Charge at Gettysburg and Marye's Heights at Fredericksburg and seeing which one had a better chance of success.
