Hello everyone! Sorry about the wait... But it's here!
Whenever they release a new Xenoblade game/DLC, you just know I'm covering some of the music don't you. Unfortunately, I can't cover things as fast as I used to anymore due to having a busy life with college and stuff but hey... I really hope people still get excited to see a new video of mine pop-up in their feed.
Future Redeemed! What did I think of it? I absolutely loved every second of it! I even preferred it over the base game! Seriously... What a good DLC!!! It was everything I wanted from a Xenoblade DLC really!
Alpha, The Dive End. I love both the song and the title so much! The clear influence of "Zanza, The Divine" musically makes this boss battle go full circle. Also I only noticed while playing this game that Alpha and Zanza start with A and Z. The beginning, and the end. Listen... I get obsessed over details like this in my Xenoblade. It's just ironic that in this case... A is the end.
I absolutely loved covering this song. Honestly, this wasn't even supposed to be my first Future Redeemed cover. I originally wanted to cover the "Aurora Shelf" field theme so that I wouldn't spoil the final boss theme for anyone but I changed my mind. I currently live right next to both a busy street and a highway... Which makes recording acoustic covers pretty much impossible at the moment. Thankfully, I'm moving again in two weeks so I should be able to start doing acoustic music again!
Anyways! Sorry for the long ramble! I really hope you'll enjoy my instrumental take on this absolute banger of a song! I don't know exactly when the next video will be with moving and all but hopefully I can make some music again soon!
See you next time!

Hello everyone! I take on an all time classic this week!
The idea for this one struck me out of nowhere one day and I started to play around with an arrangement. The original idea that hit me was simply for the beginning of this cover where it starts big, goes to a piano that sounds like it's coming off an old street speaker, the bass kicks in and then BOOM... full band. That was it. I started working on it thinking it would be a fun little arrangement, but as I was working on it, bigger ideas started to flow in my head and I realized it wasn't going to be this little cover anymore.
The later half of this arrangement was clearly inspired by the Final Fantasy VII Remake Air Buster battle and that's the idea that changed the entire direction of this cover. I think the chord progression change during that part really makes it sound more heroic and when I reel in the guitar harmonies it enhances this even more!
In the end, this initially simple cover ended up requiring a whole lot of work (especially on the orchestral side) but it also turned into something I'm quite proud of. This is what I like about taking more time to do covers... I get to try ideas that require more effort.
Let me know what you think!
See you next time!

Hello everyone! I have a very special video for you this week!!
I've been wanting to cover this song ever since I played Persona 4 Golden on the Switch earlier this year. My initial plan was to cover it as an instrumental cover where I'd play the vocals on guitar but I quickly gave up on the idea as I thought it would lose a lot of the original's energy. I was then exposed to Lilly's singing through a FFVIII collaboration she did on Fuzz Pixel's channel (which you should also check out) and I instantly reached out afterwards.
This is the first time I ever bring a solo singer to the channel and I'm so glad I did! Lilly brought this song to a whole new level which I could never have done with a simple instrumental cover. I've been so excited to finally be able to share this project with you and we both really hope you'll enjoy our take on this absolutely amazing track.
Please go and check out her channel! She does covers of all kinds including video games and anime and they're all amazing. Her channel: @CeLillyMusic

Hello everyone! Octopath Traveler 2 is out!!
The original Octopath Traveler had a huge impact on how I approach music so I was really excited to hear the new soundtrack in Octopath Traveler 2! I didn't want to spoil myself though so I'll be discovering more of the songs as I play through the game. I'm only like 8 hours in or something so I'm far from knowing all of the songs!
This track is absolutely intense and full of energy, I love it! Whenever it plays during a boss fight, I just jam along until the boss is over (which means for very long as bosses are absolute HP sponges in those games).
Octopath Traveler tracks are known for being very symphonic/orchestral pieces so I thought this would make for a really good one to turn into the orchestral rock arrangements I seem to enjoy doing these days. The timing couldn't have been better either as I just recently purchased my first real orchestral sample library after using Logic Pro's (my recording software) stock samples all those years.
This cover was my first real experiment with the new library and I'm quite happy with how it turned out! I'm excited to keep playing around with it in future covers!

Hello everyone!
Back to Pokémon! This cover of "Tera Raid Battle" was requested on Patreon by Tarou. I've been getting a lot of comments also telling me to cover something from Scarlet & Violet so... Here we are!
I haven't played a whole lot of the game myself so my experience with this game mostly comes from watching my girlfriend play it while I was playing other games. I think one thing we can all agree on though is that Pokémon music never disappoints. When I heard this theme it really made me feel something and I wanted to cover it.
This song was composed by Toby Fox and honestly, I can only think of one word to describe it. That word being "nostalgia". I can't quite explain it but the melodies in this song give me the same bittersweet feeling I get from nostalgia. Happy but also sad. I tried to put that feeling towards the interlude/middle section of this arrangement to give it some extra power before last section. I hope you'll like this cover as much as I enjoyed recording it! It was an absolute blast!
See you next time!

Hello everyone! It's been a while!
So... Here it is. Finally. My cover of "The Weight of Life" from Xenoblade Chronicles 3!
This one has been in the works for a few weeks now and I'm so glad to finally be able to share it! This song is massive and it's also 4 and half minutes long. Needless to say, this took a lot of time to complete and as per usual... Everything that you hear in this cover was either performed or programmed by myself alone.
I'm particularly proud of my piano work on this one. I played maybe 80% of it myself and had to spend evenings practicing some of the piano solo parts to be able to actually record them. Seems like my 2 years of piano practice is starting to pay off which makes me happy!
So if you read my last description you probably know that this is my final Xenoblade Chronicles 3 cover for now. There are still a few tracks that I want to take on but I'll be keeping them for later this year. For now... I've been doing nothing but Xenoblade 3 covers since last July and I feel like it's about time I work on other stuff to change the pace a bit. These covers have been absolute beasts to take on as Xenoblade songs just seem to get crazier with every new game.
I thought a big project such as "The Weight of Life" would be a nice way to end this little Xenoblade 3 binge of mine. What do you think? :')
Oh! By the way... I have more time for music this semester so I should be able to do more music!
See you next time!

Hello everyone! This one was requested a lot!
You know I was going to get to it eventually... This song is an absolute jam! I find it so cool that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 not only had Unique Monsters as usual but added the concept of Elite Monsters too. I also have to say that "A Formidable Enemy" always reminds me of the Fogbeast theme from Future Connected! It's like this one kept a lot of the "proginess" from Fogbeast but adds a nice groove over it. It's so good.
This was a big one to take on. Especially with college finals going on, finding time to do this was not easy. But I really wanted to finish it before I go back home for the break. I don't know if I'll have time to complete another one before the end of the year as I won't have my recording setup with me during the break.
That being said, I think my little Xenoblade 3 project is coming to an end soon. I've been covering nothing but music from this game since July believe it or not! I'm thinking of doing one more definitive track to top it all off and I should have enough to make an album out of all the Xenoblade 3 covers I've done. When the soundtrack is finally licensable of course. Which means, once the official soundtrack in released on music platforms. I'll probably cover other songs from the game later after that but I just mean that I'll also go back to covering other games.
But yeah... give me some time to cover that next song as... it sure has some "weight" to it.
See you next time! (probably in 2023)

Hello everyone! I finally did the song!
This one has been requested by a lot of people on my other Xenoblade Chronicles 3 covers... But it's also a freaking awesome re-imagining of the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 version of the song so of course I was going to do it! Xenoblade 2 is still my favorite in the series so going back to Drifting Soul for this video was such a treat. I might have dropped a little Xenoblade 2 reference in there somewhere...
Just like every other Xenoblade 3 covers I've done so far, this one was a lot of work! So much orchestral instruments went into the background once again and those guitar solos really had me practicing again. As you might know, I play a lot more piano these days as I'm currently learning to play the instrument. And with college in the way of things, I find myself really only playing guitar for these videos so my soloing skills were getting a bit on the rusty side.
I hope you'll enjoy this one! I have at least two more Xenoblade 3 songs that I want to do before I start covering other games again so please bare with me... (I really hope you like Xenoblade music because it's all I've been doing since that game released!)
See you next time! (Hopefully soon)

Hello everyone! It's been a while!
I officially moved to a new city, I started college, and everything has been absolutely hectic! I've had very little time to work on music with everything new around me but... by working on this project little by little, it eventually sounded like something!
This one has been an absolutely massive one to take on considering everything that's been going on in my life but I took it slowly and it's been fun!
Everything that you hear and don't hear in this track has been recorded or programmed by my very hands as usual. The background orchestral parts alone took me 3 whole afternoons to complete and man do I think it was worth it! I'm very happy with how this project turned out as the original is such a massive song full of choir parts which I wasn't sure how to replicate. But thanks to a whole lot of layered MIDI choir, strings, organ, and much more to go with the guitars... I think this is a success and possibly my biggest cover of 2022 so far.
See you next time!

Hello everyone! Boss time!
This track just might be my favorite boss theme in the game right after You Will Know Our Names Finale. I know the Moebius battle theme is the most popular one but for some reason... The normal boss theme just resonates with me a bit more so I thought I'd cover it first!
Covering this one was no simple task as it is a huge song with a lot going on in it. I do everything myself from scratch so there were A LOT of tracks to either record or program for this to sound hopefully almost as big as the original. Lots of orchestral stuff going on in the background and some really spicy guitar parts in there. It was a really fun one to play!
I hope you'll enjoy my take on this absolute beast of a boss theme!

Hello everyone! It's Chain Attack time!
This song is such a jam! It plays almost all the time in this game so covering it was a no brainer. I mean it even plays when it shouldn't be allowed to play such as during big important battles... Whatever you do, this song is there waiting and you cannot escape it. Unless you don't start the chain attack of course...
I had a lot of fun making this one! I hope you'll enjoy my little rock take on it!

Hello everyone! More Xenoblade Chronicles 3!!
I'm still in the process of completing this game. 60 hours in, chapter 5, level 60 something, and way overpowered. I'm so hooked!! It's all I've been doing with my free time ah! This game is crazy big, almost too big at times! :'D
This game's soundtrack is still growing on me when it comes to non-battle music such as the field themes and the reuse of colony themes but... the battle tracks. The battle tracks ROCK SO HARD once again!! You Will Know Our Names ~ Finale resonated with me the second I first heard it and I love it so much! Such an incredible unique monster theme, I just had to cover it on here!
Recording this one was no small task in order to make it sound as big as I wanted to. As always, everything you hear was recorded or programmed in from scratch by my own two hands and this one required quite a lot of work! Last week, I said I uploaded a Persona cover I had in store because I needed more time to work on the next Xenoblade cover... That was the one. I hope you'll like what I did with it!
See you next time!

Hello everyone! Xenoblade Chronicles 3 covers will resume next week, don't worry!
What happened is I made this cover of Shido's palace theme two or three weeks ago and it was set to release last weekend. But then the Xenoblade 3 soundtracks appeared on the internet and I decided to make a cover of the battle theme in time for release, keeping the Persona 5 video for another time.
I've been working on a new Xenoblade 3 cover but I couldn't finish it for this weekend so I figured it would be a good time to post this while taking more time to work on the Xenoblade music.
As I mentioned on my cover of "The Whims of Fate", I beat Persona 5 for the first time last month and after that I felt like covering a lot of tracks from the game. I freaking loved the Ark theme so I decided to cover it while adding my own touch to it. It was a lot of fun to work on too! This will be my last Persona 5 cover for a while though so... I hope you like it!
See you next time!

Hello everyone! Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is finally here!!!
It kinda feels weird saying that, huh? I hope you've all been enjoying the game since yesterday! At the time that I'm writing this on the 29th, I'm still waiting for my copy to arrive so hopefully I get to play it before you read this. :'D
This one was absolutely crazy to record. Xenoblade songs have been getting more and more complicated since Torna and Future Connected which is awesome because we get more incredible tracks but on the other hand it, it does make these covers a lot harder to do hahaha.
This is the first battle theme from the game and it's, in my opinion, such a good balance between every other Xenoblade games. You got the rock energy from Xenoblade 1 and 2, the grooviness of Torna, and the upbeat feel of Future Connected. The flutes were also starting to become more important in FC's music. Perhaps they were teasing Xenoblade 3?
Now I know what some of you will say... "Gab, you play the ocarina, why no ocarina in this track?". The original track already makes heavy use of flutes so I thought with my version I'd go for more of a Xenoblade 2 rock feel. I didn't want my first cover of this game to be a straight up copy paste of the original so... The ocarina will have it's time to shine later probably!
See you next time!

Hello everyone! More Persona this week!
I finally beat Persona 5 for the first time this month and it put me in the mood for some Persona covers. I had played the game before but I got distracted and stopped playing after Futaba's palace... It wasn't until Atlus announced the games coming to the Switch that I finally felt the urge to go back and finish it. In fact, I liked it so much that I'm now playing through Persona 5 Strikers. That game is amazing so far!!!
I absolutely loved the Casino palace and the music just made it even better to me so... I thought it would be fun to cover its theme this week!
See you next time!

Hello everyone! Something very different this week!
I was playing Persona 5, fusing personas minding my own business when suddenly... This arrangement just struck me out of nowhere. It hit me so hard that I started working on it right away.
Who knew that cranking up the tempo, adding groovy drums and bass, gothic pipe organ and bells would turn this into a Bloodstained track? Oh and let's not forget the strings... The reference for this was Luxurious Overture in case it wasn't clear enough already. :')
Now of course... Guitar is my main instrument so I had to make this a bit more rock than if it was actually in Bloodstained but I think the overall vibe is there! Take it as a Gabocarina96 cover of a Gabocarina96 arrangement... That doesn't make sense now, does it?
This was a really fun project to take on and I'd like to do something like this again in the future. I hope you like it!
See you next time!

Hello everyone! Banjo Kazooie!!??
It's been a year and a half since the last time I covered some Banjo Kazooie music... To think that at one point in time it was the main thing on this channel. I mean I did pretty much cover all of them at this point.
That being said, I did cover Spiral Mountain before as a rock cover. Recently I've been in a big acoustic mood and while thinking of ideas I thought of Spiral Mountain and I suddenly felt so happy. The nostalgia hits hard with this one so I decided I'd do it one last time on this channel.
This will be my last re-cover for a while now I promise. Nobody complained thankfully but I just don't want you to think I'll be re-covering a bunch of stuff all the time! :')
Soon enough this channel will turn back into a Xenoblade music hype train anyways so I won't be redoing stuff for a long time haha...
See you next time!

Hello everyone! Bonus video!?
I always upload my covers on Saturdays so what is happening? Well... This cover was commissioned by PikaXRich and I ended up liking it a lot myself and asked him for permission to post it on here so that people can hear it.
I covered this one a while back as a rock cover but this commission was for an acoustic version so... here's the result of that. I hope you'll like it!
No music video for this one as I literally recorded it between two projects so I thought I'd just put together this little visual support thingy so that your eyes have something to do while listening.
See you again on Saturday!

Hello everyone! Back to Castlevania!
I like Rondo of Blood! It's one of those games where I just play it here and there for a bit until I get destroyed by it and move on to the next thing. But I really do enjoy it.
Netflix announced a new Castlevania show, this time about Richter and I thought it would be fun to cover the level 1 theme from Rondo of Blood as Richter is the one you play in that game.
The original song is very heavy on the synths so I thought I'd try and turn it into more of a Symphony of the Night track. More gothic with the strings, organ, and bells while also keeping the rock feel going. I had The Tragic Prince song from SotN in mind while working on this arrangement. I hope you'll like it! Oh... and I might have referenced Bloody Tears in there. Listen carefully!

Hello everyone! Decided to cover this one again!
So... as some of you may know, this is my favorite video game song of all time and it's a very important one to me. I covered it like six or seven years ago as an acoustic/rock cover and it was pretty good I think for the time on my channel but... I recently felt the urge to do it again, this time as an acoustic cover that will hopefully stand the test of time a bit better.
I've been doing a lot of acoustic covers lately and I don't know it just feels great to change things up a little! I feel a bit bad to be redoing a song that I already covered but at the same time most of you probably weren't following me when I posted the old version so to a lot of people it'll be like I never did it until now.
I hope you'll enjoy the acoustic version! It felt great to be going back to my favorite song!

Hello everyone! More Yoshi's Island!
That was a whole bunch of SNES music covers lately, huh? I had a blast revisiting those songs from my childhood! Oh... and when I say childhood I mean that I'm so happy the Gameboy Advance had plenty of Super Nintendo games playable on it. I played a bit of Super Nintendo as a really young kid but I really grew up with the N64, Gamecube, and GBA. Still, it doesn't take away the fact that I'm nostalgic for those old games in my own way!
Yoshi's Island is still absolutely fantastic to this day and the music is just as catchy. A lot of you seem to have enjoyed my latest Athletic Theme cover so I thought I'd revisit this game once again but with Flower Garden this time. This was a lot of fun to cover actually! :')
I hope you'll like my take on it!

Hello everyone! SNES again... :')
As I mentioned last week, I've been in a huge Super Nintendo music mood since that Aquatic Ambience cover so I thought I'd continue this Saturday again! And next week too actually... Any guesses?
As you'll probably notice, this is a very dynamic arrangement. I go from rock to acoustic and so on through the cover. I wanted to sort of replicate those combat/calm moments from dungeon crawler type of games where the music gets more intense as stuff happens and calm when you clear a screen.
I originally got this idea for a cover back when I played Cadence of Hyrule but then I got busy with other projects and forgot about it. But I recently played Hades which had a similar approach to its soundtrack and it reminded me of this cover idea that I had.
So yeah it's probably easy to hear the Hades influence during those acoustic sections but it wasn't just that game that's being referenced in there. I'm also a big fan of Castlevania and its music so whenever I hear a section that sounds a bit darker/gothic... I don't hesitate to bring out those strings and cathedral organ. You might spot a few example of that in this arrangement.
See you next time!

Hello everyone! Going back to the SNES this week again!
I covered some Donkey Kong Country just two weeks ago and it really put me in the mood for some good old retro SNES music. I'll have another one next week as well actually because I was feeling it.
Athletic Theme from Yoshi's Island always makes me so happy. I covered it I think it was 7 years ago but it's old now and it was a rock cover. I felt like revisiting the song but with an upbeat acoustic arrangement this time around so that's what I did! I hope you'll enjoy the new version!

Hello everyone! Fashionably late to the party... :D
It took me a while to finally play Deltarune so I didn't want to jump on the hype train just for the sake of getting views when Chapter 2 came out.
This song was requested on Patreon by Melissa and I thought it would make for a really fun and strange cover! I mean the original song is already quite weird (in the best way possible) so I thought I'd get creative with this one experimenting as I've been doing with my latest covers.
I had a lot of fun trying things for both the audio and video aspects. I'm really happy with how it came out and I hope it'll be a good time for you as well! Let me know what you think hahaha.

Hello everyone! Back to DKC this week!
I felt like it had been a little while since my last Donkey Kong Country cover so I thought I'd finally get that fixed. Aquatic Ambiance is a song that I've been meaning to do for a long time now but I just couldn't quite figure out how I wanted to arrange it.
I was just humming the song the other day as I had it stuck in my head when suddenly I got this idea of a slow beginning followed by the acoustic starting to strum chords slowly leading to the anticipated part of the song. It does take a little while to really kick off but I tell myself that not every piece of music needs to be right in your face all the time. Sometimes it's fun to just trust that the viewer will listen up to the bigger part instead of always fighting for their attention. If that even makes sense...
Anyways, I'm really proud of this arrangement. It's not my usual type of cover but I just had to do it! I hope you enjoy that extra groovy bit too! I had a lot of fun just improvising the bass line a bit to make it interesting to hear.
See you next time!

Hello everyone! I just can't get enough of this ost!
I don't think I need to explain why I had to cover this one. Everybody who played this game remembers this version of the King Dedede theme. I mean come on, you got crazy metal music in a Kirby game! :'D It was also requested by you guys quite a lot of my previous Forgotten Land covers so... There you go!
This one was a really big one to tackle but it made me feel proud of myself when I finished it. First off, I experimented for the first time with quad-tracking the rhythm guitars to give some extra punch to that main head-banging riff. The background orchestral tracks also took quite a bit of work to record/write down using MIDI. I do think it was worth the extra effort though as it makes everything sound much more epic! Lastly, I recorded all of the shouts you hear myself. I recorded myself shouting so many times in different ways to get that crowd sound to the point where my throat started to taste like blood. It probably wasn't good for me but it does sound cool in the mix!
Oh also... This was my first time tuning a guitar in drop C in years. So... yeah... METAL!

Hello everyone! It's been too long since the last Castlevania cover!
This one was requested by Tarou on Patreon and what a great one to go back to this series with. Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow are easily my favorite games in this series and I love their soundtracks so very much.
This game's version of Heart of Fire is so freaking cool. I'm really familiar with the music of the original Castlevania on the NES so when this played in Aria of Sorrow... Well at first I thought it was a brand new song but then the later section arrived and I was caught by surprise! I was so excited to be hearing the original Heart of Fire melody! Such a cool arrangement.
But yeah! I was fun to go back and cover some Castlevania again! I'd love to do more in the future as I just absolutely love these games and soundtracks. I just don't get to show it on the channel as often as I'd like.
I hope you'll like my take on this classic!

Hello everyone! It's been a while since I've done some Bug Fables!
I've been meaning to come back to this game's soundtrack for a little while now but always had other projects going on. I didn't have anything in particular planned for this Saturday so I thought it would be a good time to go back to it!
I absolutely love this song and I think it was requested a few time on my previous Bug Fables covers too so... I went for it!
I tried a few new things on this one like that extra processing on piano to make it pop while keeping its own spot in the mix. Makes it sound a bit retro too. It was important as it kinda stays there in the background for a while and I didn't want it to take over the other instruments.
Anyways, I had a lot of fun with this one and I hope you'll enjoy what it turned out to be!

Hello everyone! I thought I'd go back to this game one more time.
This song caught my attention when I first heard it in-game and I instantly knew I had to cover it! It doesn't play often but when it did play... it was a blast!
This was a big one to take on with all of the orchestral tracks playing in the background of my version. I mean the original was already a big song but I thought I'd take it to the next level with a new instrumentation and more orchestral instruments for extra punch.
I feel like I almost gave it a Xenoblade battle feel with the trumpets, french horns, strings, and piano. Don't you think? I mean I most definitely listen to the Xenoblade OSTs too much for them not to influence my writing style at this point... I just hope you find this cover fun either way!

Hello everyone! Back to Diddy Kong Racing!
This one was requested on Patreon by... SteelCurtain, SlimyZ, H33th3r, and ReloadPsi! So eumm... Yeah. I don't think I had a choice! :')
This was a bit of a weird one to turn into a rock jam because of how upright the original sounds but with a bit of messing around, I think I somehow managed in the end.
I did a lot of Diddy Kong Racing covers in the past so I was surprised when this got requested so much that I hadn't done it yet. I like the DKR soundtrack a whole lot so it was a pleasure going back to it for this one!
Oh right! You may have noticed that this video looks different than usual! I thought I'd try something this week. So I've been meaning to add a bit of colour to my videos but I didn't really know how to do so as lighting can cost quite a bit. So... I bought a two pack of small LED panels for like 60CAD. It's the cheapest plastic crap I ever bought in my life but I'm kinda pleased with the result it gave for the price!? Let me know what you think!
Since it's a Spaceport Alpha cover, I thought I'd try and make the video look like space with some purple, blue, and red.
See you next time!

Hello everyone! It's been a while since I did some Sonic!
This one was requested by ReloadPsi on Patreon and it came as a nice coincidence as I was replaying through the game. I was already in the mood for some Sonic Adventure 2 music so I thought I'd do Green Forest!
The original song is pretty much drums, bass, and guitars which would have been easy for me to replicate but that wouldn't have been enough for me... I wanted to add a little extra to make it my own. My goal with this one was to make it sound like I'd imagine a Sonic Adventure 2 remake or Smash version to sound. I attempted to do so by adding brasses for extra impact, piano for the fun of it, and strings. I think it gave it more punch and I hope you'll liked it!

Hello everyone! The new Kirby is out and I'm so happy!
I've been excited to play this game ever since the first trailer so I knew I was going to do something for its release. We heard this theme in the trailers and it caught my ear right away. It just has that classic Nintendo fun sound that reminds me of Super Mario Galaxy and it stayed stuck in my head!
After playing the demo for the game I was both very hyped to play more but I was also happy to hear that "Downtown Grassland" finally had a full version I could work with for a cover.
I spent a lot of time working on the orchestral background tracks for this to sound the way it does and I think it was really worth it! This was a huge project with a lot of tracks as a result and I'm so satisfied with it. I hope you like the sound of it!

Hello everyone! More Mario this week!
This one was requested on Patreon by Marty and I think it was about time I'd cover this classic.
I thought about doing this one a few years ago but I remember feeling uninspired about the arrangement and it would have sounded too much like other rock covers of the song so... I ended up waiting. I saw it got requested on my Patreon request sheet a little while ago and I thought I could finally give it a fair shot.
I think this just might be my favorite arrangement that I've done this year! I'm really pleased with the mix of big rock moments and softer parts and I hope you'll enjoy it! :D

Hello everyone! New Mario cover!
This one was requested on Patreon by Kraden Sensei and although it is a total coincidence... I think it's quite the timing that I post this right around Mario day. I actually have another Mario cover coming next week and that one from Super Mario 64 so I hope you'll look forward to it!
I remember when Super Mario Sunshine came out and even to this day, some people didn't like the mechanics compared to its N64 predecessor but I for one fully embraced it. Having F.L.U.D.D. makes it such a memorable entry in the series for me and I still absolutely love that game.
This was a fun one to cover! I didn't want it to sound like other covers of the song so I played around with the arrangement quite a lot to try and make it original. Let me know if you liked it! :D

Hello everyone! Back to Xenoblade 2!
I've been on a huge Xenoblade hype again since the announcement of the third game and I've been replaying through Xenoblade 2 for the I don't even know how many times now. I played this game so much and I still enjoy it a lot.
Replaying it has made me want to cover songs I didn't do yet and when I reached chapter 3, it just hit me that I never did Garfont so... Here we are!
I decided to stick close to the original with this one as my plan wasn't really to change it too much but rather, I wanted to make it sound more fun and a bit groovy like it's a traveller/merc's ballad. Drums really changed the feel of the song I think as the original track doesn't have a drum track but rather just background percussions. I also thought giving it a more prominent bass and strumming acoustic guitars would help elevate this song a little more making everything sound lively.
I hope you'll enjoy my cover of this one! I've got other ideas for Xenoblade series covers which I hope to be able to work on in the near future! :D
Oh and don't mind my classical guitar... It's totally not missing a string. And I'm definitely not too lazy to put new strings on it.
See you next time!

Hello everyone! More Xenoblade!!
Did you see the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 trailer? I sure did and it put me in such a big Xenoblade mood. What will I do to cope with the hype until September? Well... Replay the series and cover songs I didn't cover yet of course! No seriously, I hope you like Xenoblade because I have ideas for videos here. I'll just say that I've been replaying Xenoblade 2 lately so you may see something from that game next week...
But ok... Wir Fliegen... My take on this one will probably sound way different from the original to you and that's the point. The original has a big electronic/dance feel to it which I can't quite replicate so I decided to turn it into more of an orchestral rock song. I think it almost made it sound more emotional at parts but I did try to at least keep the dance feel for the chorus sections. I created new sections and counter melodies for the orchestral instruments that weren't part of the original and filled things up with french horns as this soundtrack is very big on that. I hope you'll like it!

Hello everyone! Something different this week!?
So not only has it been a little while since I've done an acoustic cover, I have also been wanting to cover this song for a very long time. So I thought I'd take this as an opportunity to do both at the same time!
My Neighbor Totoro is really important to me. Most of you probably don't know this but I learned to play the ocarina way before I started learning guitar. It was nearly 15 years ago I think where I got my first 12 hole ocarina and started to learn Ghibli songs. My Neighbor Totoro was the second song that I learned back then and now I play it purely out of muscle memory as I played it so much hahaha.
The reason my channel is called gabocarina96 is actually because it was supposed to be an ocarina cover channel back then. I uploaded two Ghibli covers to YouTube in 2008 or 2009. They stayed there for a good while but I was playing over instrumental versions of the originals so... The audio eventually got muted on them so I deleted the videos. One of those videos was My Neighbor Totoro.
We're now many years later and this same channel has turned into what it is today, which is hard to believe when I think about it but... I thought it was time I'd finally cover this song for real playing every track from scratch. I hope you'll enjoy my take on it!
See you next time!

Hello everyone! New original song!
This is the first one that I share since I did my original album Crystal Moon back in October. It took me a bit of time to get back into the groove of things after that one I think.
So what exactly is this song and why did I do it?
First of all, I think this is more of an intense battle cutscene theme than an actual boss battle theme. The way I saw the scene in my head while composing was... The song starts with and hopeful melody (which will come back at the end) where the commandant/squad leader finishes to give his troops the motivational speech telling them they'll reclaim the capital they lost to the enemy etc. Then, the big metal music starts as they rush down the hill on their horses, charging at the enemy. That goes on for a bit but then the mood suddenly change when they realize that it won't be a piece of cake as anticipated and many of their friends die right away. From there I just kept the intense battle feel going until finally you hear "hope" again through the melodic end sequence I wrote with strings leading the piece.
I hope you enjoy whatever this is!

Hello everyone! I thought I'd come back to some Xenoblade.
I've been in a huge Xenoblade Chronicles X music mood ever since the year began so I thought I'd finally go back to it and give it the recognition it deserves.
I've been trying new things in the process of making this one which will hopefully improve how my music sounds a little. I'm really happy with how this one turned out it the end. It was a whole lot of work to make it sound this full, programming all of these orchestral instrument tracks which is why I've been taking longer to upload videos. I hope it'll live up to the wait!

Hello everyone! Happy new year!! :D
It feels good to be back! I've been wanting to cover Cyrus' Battle theme ever since I played the Pokémon Diamond/Pearl remake but I simply couldn't fit it in my end of 2021 schedule. I did think it would make for an awesome comeback cover though so here we are!
This was a bit of a big one to take on as the original is just so imposing and I really wanted to capture that same vibe with my cover. All of the orchestral stuff that you hear in the background was programmed/played by me using MIDI instruments which does require a lot of work but... It makes for a really big sounding result I think. I hope you'll enjoy my take on this one!
I also tried to make a fun little intro to the video so that it feels even more special as a first video of the year.

Hello everyone! Final video of 2021!
Last week's Cool, Cool Mountain cover was originally planned to be the last video for this year but then I just felt like I had it in me to do just one more.
When it comes to this time of the year, Diddy Kong Racing music always comes to mind for me. All of the snow level themes in this game are just too good and they put me in the holiday mood every single year!
Snowflake Mountain is a bit of a simpler song so I knew I had to be a bit creative if I wanted to make a cover that would be fun for 2-3 minutes. You might notice that I threw a bit of my own there in the middle section and even got to reference a few other themes you'll recognize!
Thank you for all of your support in 2021! Hopefully you'll join me again in 2022! Until then, Happy Holidays everyone! :D

Hello everyone! It's time for the first Holiday special of the year!
This is a bit of an unusual cover for me as it's not rock but also not my typical acoustic take on a song either. I really wanted to try something new with this one to make it extra special for this time of year.
My goal was to turn this all time classic song into... a "French-Canadian kitchen party" let's call it. Now, to clarify what that even is.
Imagine a family reunion around Christmas time and at some point two people in the kitchen start playing music. Then other family members hear that, pick up their instruments and start playing along with the others.
So in this case, I'm starting the song with piano and melodica (strings in the background for extra impact but don't tell anyone). Then a bit later on, spoons come in as percussion along with uncle Gaétan's acoustic guitar. After that arrives mononcle (uncle) Guy with his snare, to add extra punch to your jamming session followed by none other than mononcle Réjean with his tuba. Etc etc...
Anyways, I hope this arrangement idea sounds like fun to you! I had a lot of fun going out of my comfort zone to make this cover. If you like it, do share it with some friends and family, it would really help me out! :D

Hello everyone! One more Diamond/Pearl cover!
I've been having a great time replaying the game through the remakes this past week and I thought it would be fun to cover another song from it before I move on to the festive videos of December.
There's still a few songs from Diamond/Pearl that I love to do at one point or another such as Cyrus' Battle theme so if you guys enjoy this video, perhaps I'll get to it later down the line!
I had fun with the instrumentation of this one once again sharing melody sections between instruments instead of playing everything on guitar. I feel like it gives the arrangement a more authentic sound and I hope you enjoy it!

Hello everyone! Gen 4 remakes are here!
Pokémon Diamond was the first game in the series where I was old enough to be hyped for the release and for that I have very good memories to go with it.
I started with Pokémon Blue when I was very young but I never beat it. Much later on I got Pokémon FireRed and I think that is where I really got into this series. I then played Silver, and Sapphire. I clearly remember seeing the Diamond/Pearl trailer for the first time and and being crazy excited for them. I also remember the day it released where me and my friend went to the store to buy it and playing all day long. Good times!
So yeah, I was really excited when these games got announced as remakes! Although I must admit the art style threw me off at first. I was looking forward to replaying this game nonetheless so I thought I'd cover one of my favorite track from it to celebrate the release!
I hope you enjoy my take on this one! I just might have another Diamond/Pearl cover ready for next week hehe.
See you next time!

Hello everyone! Little blast from the past this week!
I've been watching Ocarina of Time videos lately, mostly about the new Switch version being... well... bad. I got a bit nostalgic in the process and felt the urge to cover this one so here we are!
I love going back to music of N64 classics from my childhood as you probably already know. People like my Mario 64 Slider cover from a few months ago and since Horse Race is a bit in the same style, I thought you'd enjoy this one too. So yeah! I hope you like it! :D
See you next time!

Hello everyone! Final spooky cover for this October!
I absolutely love this theme and been wanting to cover it for a while. I always thought I should wait for October so... Here we are!
There was truly something special about playing Nier Automata, walking down that forest to see it open up to the Amusement Park. Hearing the glockenspiel play its spooky circus melody for the first time really did set the mood for that area of the game and it was perfect.
I had a lot of fun finally arranging this one and I hope you'll enjoy my take on it!
See you next time!

Hello everyone! Spooky cover time!
The Library Piano theme from Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon has been in my list of Halloween cover ideas for a while now. But since I can only do a few of these specials every year... It took a bit of time to get to it. I'm glad we're finally here though because this was an absolute blast to record!
I love covering short songs from time to time as they allow me to go crazy on the arrangement, playing loops in many styles and feels before the video is over. You can probably tell I had fun with this arrangement and I hope you'll have a good time listening to it too.
Thanks for watching, enjoy! See you next week with one last spooky video for this October.

Crystal Moon is a concept album based on my idea of a non-existing Castlevania-like game that exists only in my head. You'll see the story progress through the uploads of these songs throughout the week. Check the announcement video for more details on the album!
About this song: This is it. Final boss. I really wanted this one to go hard as I thought this battle would be an imposing and challenging one for the player. I played guitar throughout the album but it was really quiet in the background for most of the songs. This one was one that I went all out on using my usual orchestral rock sound.
This one starts out with a long church organ note followed quickly by the piano motif that I used throughout "The Spiral", the intro song. So where the spiral begins... The spiral also ends. The cycle never stops. Unbreakable Cycle.
I really wanted this to sound as if there are many phases to the fight so you'll hear a lot of different ideas and feels merging into each other. Sophia's music box melody is back again for the last time showing that Dracula still very much care for her. He's broken hearted but you as The Hunter must do what's got to be done.

About this song: This is the final area of the game before the final boss and also the lowest floor of Dracula's underground castle. The reason I did this album in the first place was because I thought it would be fun for a change if Dracula's castle appeared underground and sealed himself in an ice cavern so... This theme is very much that.
Dawn of Sorrow had a really cold feel to its setting and music so I felt inspired by it to write this song. The synth bells I used always sounded Winter-like to my ears so I tried to introduce them in this one.
I didn't want this song to be all heavy and imposing as this would also be the point in the game where you learn about Dracula's tragic loss and start understanding why he does what he does/feel bad for him. So it's a final area song but also a bit of an emotional one.
This is also where I started playing around with Sophia's music box motif. I referenced it in "The Spiral", the first song from the album. I used it in this one here as this is where you learn about her and finally... You might hear it again somewhere in the final boss theme as Dracula still holds her close to his heart.

About this song: I wanted this one to start sounding like things were getting serious. The first few areas of the game were easy enough to travel through but this one would be where the game starts getting harder. As a result, I opted for a bit more of a rock feel here.
Since this is a catacomb area, it made me think of an "underground/earth" level which automatically also made me think "desert" so... I brought in the sitar just as a test and ended up enjoying the sound of it and... I kept it in!
