http://CookingThaiFood.com Free Thai cooking videos. A long tail boat on Railay beach in Krabi, Thailand serves Roti (Thai Pancakes), pineapple shakes, hamburgers, sandwiches, fried rice, grilled chicken and more, alll while bobbing in the surf. Railay Beach can be reached by purchasing an airline ticket from Air Asia, Bagnkok to Krabi, then taking a taxi to Krabi town or the beachside community of Ao Nang, next find a boat and cruise on to the beach. Koh Phi Phi is another short cruise away. Both places are perfect for a honeymoon or family vacation. Snorkel, swim or kayak in the warm emerald sea.
Transcript: Welcome to Railay beach on the Andaman sea in Thailand. It's on a small peninsula accessible only by boat due to the high limestone cliffs which isolate it from the rest of the Southern Thai mainland. Railay is a good destination for honeymooners and families, but the dramatic cliffs make Railay especially popular with rock climbers. Adventure travelers will find private beaches, hidden caves and lakes. Other activities are accessible to anyone like hiking, sunbathing, snorkeling, swimming or kayaking in the warm emerald sea. Or just enjoy a walk on the beach. After a few hours here just about everyone will have worked up an apatite. You don't need to worry about that. Railay may be isolated, but this is Thailand and if you can't get to the restaurant, the restaurant comes to you. Every day along the beach you can find these long tail boats with self contained floating kitchens and a crew of cooks. It's not just sea food on offer, there's just about everything: fruits and vegetables, grilled chicken, hamburgers and sandwiches, kabobs, cake, coke, shakes and beer, and ever type of Thai dish. One favorite is listed as Thai Pancake, or what the Thais call Roti. The cook starts with a ball of pastry dough and spins, slaps and stretches it over a smooth surface like this. Then it's fried in oil. Roti is a term used for many types of flat bread. This one is the most popular in Thailand and it is a specialty of the Southern Thai Muslims. The burner is fired using propane tanks kept in the boat. After one side has become golden brown she flips and folds it over. A moment is taken to pose for tourist photos. At the same time, another crew member is making fruit shakes in the aft. The blender is connected to a power inverter which is connected to the boat's battery, which is charged from an old automobile engine. It's this same motor with a propeller on the end of a long drive shaft that gives the boat its name and distinct appearance. The Roti chef has finished cooking and cuts the bread into bite sized pieces. Sweetened condensed milk is poured over the top and it's served. Homemade Sticky Rice Cakes for TteokBokkI and TteokGuk (떡볶이 떡)
Glutinous rice (Oryza sativa var. glutinosa or Oryza glutinosa; also called sticky rice, sweet rice, waxy rice, botan rice, biroin chal, mochi rice, and pearl rice, and pulut) is a type of short-grained Asian rice that is especially sticky when cooked. It is called glutinous in the sense of being glue-like or sticky and not in the sense of containing gluten; on the other hand, it is called sticky but should not be confused with the other varieties of Asian rice that become sticky to one degree or another when cooked.
Similar to Laos, glutinous rice is also known as khao niao (Thai: ข้าวเหนียว; Lanna: เข้าหนึ้ง, khao nueng). Northern Thais (Lanna people) and northeastern Thais (Isan people), as most other Tai peoples except Central and Southern Thais, traditionally eat glutinous rice as their staple food. Glutinous rice is also used as the basis for the brewing of sato (Thai: สาโท), an alcoholic beverage also known as "Thai rice wine". Famous in Thai cuisine is khao niao mamuang (Thai: ข้าวเหนียวมะม่วง): Thai sweet coconut sticky rice with mango.Tom Yum Soup Thai Food Recipes - Learn How to Make Tom Yam Soup Goong ต้มยำกุ้งCooking Thai Food2010-01-11 | How to cook Thai food recipes: Easy How to Make Tom Yam Soup.
