This is the score for Toniko Pantoja's Dusk's Flight animation. This has come quite a long way as the main melody was originally part of the suite material for the 2011 film Somebody's Hero, but it never made it into the movie, which is why I later repurposed it for Dusk's Flight. This also includes parts of Dreams of Flight, some of which were originally written for this animation and have finally found their way back into the animation. I initially hadn't imagined that this project would take another 10 years to finally see the light of day, but I'm glad it finally did!

This was originally released in 2014 and includes a lot of the work I've written within the first years of writing music! I started off with no musical background (self-taught) in 2007 but studied the works of composers like James Horner, John Williams, John Powell, and Hans Zimmer, which you may hear some of the influences from. Some of these tracks have been used in animations, such as those from Toniko Pantoja (Crayon Dragon, Wolfsong, etc), and the opening has strong Disney/Dreamworks sort of vibe. Lastly, the 20-min movement near the beginning was actually my application to the Berklee College of Music (but I instead decided to move forward on my own without the degree).
There are still a lot of tracks I had yet to upload on Youtube from this album, but I didn't want to bury my recent work under all my old stuff. Apart from that the album was never auto-distributed to Youtube, which is why a bulk upload seemed like a much better idea.
Many thanks to the amazing live players that contributed to a lot of these tracks!

Many thanks for the overwhelming feedback on the first devlog posted last week! I still haven't gone through each and every mail, but will make sure to reply to them throughout the upcoming week. Since the game is still in a rather early development state, we're trying to keep the team small to keep things managable. Once we reach a certain stage we'll most likely expand it whatsoever, which is why I'm keeping every mail in a seperate folder to eventually get back to people at a later date!
For now I hope you enjoy this track I finalized earlier this year! The ingame version will likely have a little less dynamics in the later part to make it more suitable as an ambient track, but that's a version I'll work on a later date.

Quite excited to show this first devlog, which shows the work-in-progress starting area, the visuals, and some of the music I've made for Lightyears from Home, an Unreal Engine 4 first-person metroidvania-style adventure with survival elements.
EDIT: Throughout the recent two weeks I've received an overwhelming amount of emails, which is why it's safe to say that the team pretty much stands by now. I guess at this point it's probably a good idea to close the applications again, as I'm still trying to catch up with the existing ones and don't want to leave people waiting for too long.

This piano-driven track was written for my game Lightyears from Home and was intended to play during the very first snowfall. I've backed the music up by some in-engine footage from Unreal Engine 4, showing a few of the more polished environments that are pretty close to being finalized. I didn't manage to fill the entire video with footage, so prepare for a bit of looping!
With so many tracks being finished for my game, I'm planning to release mini-soundtrack sometime later this year that puts everything under one roof. I'll make sure to keep you updated on that!
The melody of this track was reused from an old track I wrote that was titled Snow Ruins, but I doubt anyone still remembers that ancient track since it was originally posted in 2007.

An epic action-orchestral track, originally written for the Novus Aeterno project, which was later remade into Hades 9. If the track is still going to find its way into the game is something we'll have to see. For now I'm happy I can post it here with the score finally getting a release! The score was written somewhere in between 2010 - 2013, which was when I was still mostly using the old Eastwest Symphonic Orchestra library for most of my stuff. Needless to say that some of the samples are showing their age a bit, but that might just be nitpicking my old stuff.

This score has pretty much spent almost 10 years in limbo, as the original game was facing multiple delays before the concept was eventually changed, with the game being rebuilt from the ground up. Now after successfully getting in touch with Matt there's finally been some development on the publishing of the music, and now I'm happy to announce that the score will be released soon!
The score clocks in somewhere around 140 minutes, featuring a lot of music that has been written somewhere in between 2010 - 2012. I'm uncertain if they're still going to use most of the music that I've originally written for them, as this new game is going to be a lot darker than the original concept. Since the music is also pretty old now, I thought it would be a better idea to put the ambient tracks here as a bulk upload, rather than separating these tracks among multiple videos. I'll make sure to upload at least one of the battle tracks once the score is released, so stay tuned for its release! Once it's out it will also be send to those who've backed the original Kickstarter.

An epic, fantasy orchestral trailer score, written for a future animated feature film.
Been quite a while since I got to post new music since the majority of scores I write are under exclusive contracts. Luckily this wasn't the case for this track, which is why I finally have something new to upload here! This particular track was originally finished early this year and only longer than a minute. Since I'm secretly preparing a new album whatsoever (guess now it's less of a secret anymore!), I've extended it to make it feel more like a proper piece. Here's hoping I can find some more time next year to finally go back to writing more personal tracks, but since I need to make an income, this has lately been a bit tough!

The original idea behind this rock, electro, orchestral hybrid was a vampire slaying priest who travels through the land to free it from the undead. A new track that is part of an extended suite for Lightyears from Home, which is a video game that I'm slowly beginning to realize through my new indie studio Autodidactic. It's still a little too early to talk about the details, as my plan for this year is to merely get a few developers involved and get a prototype of the game running.
Parts of this track are going to play when the player roams open snow fields at night, underlining the feeling of solitude with a sparkle of hope. What you're seeing in the video is a quick sequence that was rendered out of Unreal Engine, which I've been learning throughout the recent months. It's not much, as everything is still in the conceptional phase, but once we're getting the ball rolling I'll show more on this channel!

This might be the first type of music that is fully backed by video material on this channel. This includes Taryn Harbridge on her violin, while I'm trying to figure out how to get the piano part right!
The track was originally inspired by the idea of an astronaut doing research on a foreign planet while exchanging messages with his wife every evening. The piece revolves around finding consolation in the thought of having someone out there, even in the most lonely days. Writing this was a ton of fun, especially with Taryn playing the violin parts so incredibly well. Hope I didn't butcher it too much with my horrible piano performance, otherwise there's always the magic of video editing!

There was something highly intriguing about capturing the variety of moods shown in this game, ranging from the more scenic parts to the creepier night and cave bits. The actual game's music is a lot more minimal, using light piano and ambient sounds for the most part.
This short composition was written in just a few days back in 2014, just recently my cousin and me started playing it again, which got lead me to the idea of posting this track here. The video includes 4K footage I've recorded using the ingame engine, mostly to illustrate the musical intentions of this piece!

This track was originally written back in 2007 and mainly inspired by Disney musicals. Three years later it was fully revamped because I liked the melody of it, with a violin part recorded by the wonderful Maria Lazareva. Originally the Oboe and English Horn were supposed to be recorded as well, but sadly it never came to that, making these parts quite lacking since they're filled with placeholder instruments from the old EWQLSO Library.

While starting out calm. this piece slowly grows into a scenic musical journey through the land of Eisley, reminiscent of travelling montages from movies such as Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. Building Upon Dreams took strong influences from Irish folk, celtic (or gaelic) influences. This second movement of Dreams of Flight, walks on similar musical ground such as the works of Hans Zimmer and John Powell did for their Dreamworks films, such as How to Train Your Dragon and Kung Fu Panda. Furthermore this piece plays an homage to many animated Disney movies that have been released throughout the recent decades.
Dreams of Flight was previously only available with getting The First Five Years as a full album, but can now be purchased independently, including the four movements (as well as two bonus tracks) as standalone tracks. However, instead of just doing a re-release I've put some extra time into the tracks, improving overall orchestration and mastering in favor for a more powerful sound.

The main motiv of this track was taken from an older piece of mine, which was called Sea of Crystal. It only made a short appearance in there, but it got people to point it out for me, noting how they'd love to hear a longer version of that theme. I felt the same about this and starting writing a full track the revolved around this. Just like Sea of Crystal, this one was inspired by water in all of its forms, mainly how it flows and moves when it starts raining, or how it would form a lake.
I want to thank Kristin Naigus for contributing her amazing talent to this track, she played the Oboe, Tin and Low Whistle parts in this, which really helped bringing the solo parts to life once again! She performs in quite a lot of my tracks and contributed an amazing performance to them.

These were originally shared only in the soundsonline forums, but after the piano suite somehow made its way on Youtube, I figured that it would be a good idea to give these two renditions a proper upload. :)
Both of these were written somewhere late 2009, early 2010.

Film score for Toniko Pantoja's animation "Wolfsong", a bittersweet about a wolf mother trying to claim back her cub. The score revolves around a lullaby that takes a reccuring role. This is an extended version of it, ending with an acoustic piano part of the theme.
