I thought of using harmonics to sound like ringing bells... I love how you can "cut" the string in half by placing your hand just so in the middle of the string to make the note sound an octave higher.

The preacher started talking about how the couple finally made their way to each other. She mentioned of the hard road and journey they had to make to find each other. She then referenced Bless the Broken Road, by Rascall Flatts. I was planning on playing a different song during the unity candle and communion, but when I heard the preacher make that connection, I decided to change my song choice last minute. I originally composed it in 2001 after my great grandmother passed away. From the moment I stepped foot on these cliffs, I knew I had to play this song here. In this special place, I could see a living painting of what I had been hearing for years as I played the harp. It was out of this world and perfect: it was a glimpse of heaven. The video was shot in June 2012 at Curl Curl beach, in Sydney, Australia.For a year, I lived in Australia as a nanny and private harp teacher. While in Sydney, I made this music video with the talented videographer and editor, Alex Knowles. Post production edits were done by Jonathan Hogberg. I have played the harp for 18 years and love to share my music where ever I go. This is my own spin on Pirates of the Carribean. I love to play by ear, so often times, I'll listen to a track and then play around with it on the harp, until I get something I like. I thought this would be a fun activity Monday while the kids were in school.You can hear the wind playing the strings... I love it when it does that. It's not the best audio quality, but it adds just the right touch when the wind comes in to play. Sorry the strings aren't all tuned perfectly. We are renting this little celtic harp while in Australia, and it's adorable, but it doesn't hold the strings too well.
