X-Men Arcade version 0.2.0 Demo for the Sega Saturnhotrodx2024-03-20 | Just in time for X-Men 97, here's X-Men Arcade for the Sega Saturn.
Version 0.2.0 features: * New selectable character, STORM * 3 Player Coop, join anytime * Second Stage, the Sentinel Factory * Additional Enemy Types * On-screen mayhem! Lots of sprites and explosions * A not-quite Easter Egg celebrating the release of X-Men 97
Instructions: 1. Unzip contents of zip file to your favorite ROM directory 2. Recommended emulator: RetroArch, with Beetle Saturn Core OR Standalone emulator: Mednafen 3. To load the file, choose the CUE file
Instructions on actual Saturn: 1. Unzip contents, then select the CUE file in your CD Burn program 2. Options are Mod Chip, Disc Swap, 4-in-1 Card with Pseudo Saturn Kai, or some Optical Disc Emulators (ODE)
About 3 Player Coop: As I don't have a physical 6-player multitap, I only relied on emulators to have it working. In principle, use one multitap, and connect the controllers to the 1p, 2p, and 3p connectors. Then connect to the first (left) port. Leave the second port open.
Just to clarify: 1. This isn't a Port. Does not involve the original source code. 2. Not a Remaster. No intention or capability to match or surpass the greatness of the original. 3. Just enjoy it for what it is. 4. It's still buggy.
