So this is my farewell to 2021 everyone! Thanks for sticking with me and making every release special. I hope you all have a wonderfull New Year's eve!! My ongoing love for Megaman X2's rather heavy soundtrack culminated in this track "Morphed Moth" Yuki Iwai has done a fantastic job on 1994's Megaman X sequel and this is another tribute to her and her iconic work. I always loved the rumbling bass guitar and the always present, wild drumming and percussive elements in this track, so I kept it rather rudimentary this time around. As it is supposed to smash I incorporated a bit of my "heavy" into it. The brass was once again another challenge to get right. I was tired during the video shoot, so excuse my lack of emotive enjoyment as I was struck with headaches that day and I switched my video editing software recently, so I still have a lot to learn, but I definitively wanted to make a last video this year. Other than that rock on and thanks everyone!!!

Megaman 6 is not as nostalgic for me as 3-5 as it was never released here in Europe. I got to play it in the early 2000's and the music caught me right away. The soundtrack was done by the talented Yuko Takehara, who worked for capcom's sound team.
I'm bad at videos I know, but to make it even cheesier I put a vhs filter on it. I care more about the music anyways.
Megaman X2 might be next, but who knows... Original stuff is undeway.
Anyways, thanks for everybody who subscribed and liked my music these years. The King Of Dragons - Treasure In An Old Castle CoverMETALLTOOL2024-06-02 | Don't forget to rate the video, share and subscribe. Hello everybody, thanks for sticking with this channel, even though I struggle to release stuff on a regular basis. I want to cover so much, but time. I am working on a special project with original musci as well, but I won't neglect the usual Megaman tracks, as well as other series, I already dove into in the past.
Today however I present you my interpretation of the 2nd and 9th stage theme from the game "The King of Dragons" ,titled "Hard Long" or "Treasure in an Old Castle" if you go by the stage name. The soundtrack is full of incredible tracks, all composed by the great "Yoko Shimomura", whom I admire for all her works in the video game industry. As the game came out in 1991 just as Street Fighter II, it's audible Ms. Shimomrua worked on both games at the same time, one can hear similarities. I discovered this game through emulation in the 2000's, but I have it in my collection via Steam, I replayed it casually over the years. A fun game.
This time I tried to focus less on the metal aspect and tried to steer more towards a early 90's Arranged CD feel, like Y's and Alpha Lyla. I'll release some more this year, so you guys won't have to wait until Christmas. I hope you enjoy!!! And thanks for all the positive support over the years. Only few people will know the tracks I cover sometimes, but I like doing them. And maybe I can introduce some people to those soundtracks.

By now it's a Metalltool tradition to release a track on Christmas, so there you go! I hope you enjoy this and if it sounds overproduced that's because it actually is :) I had a lot of fun with this and tried something different by using 80's and 90's drum machines, as I felt it would fit the Megaman Classic franchise. The counter melodies in this track (well Megaman 5 in general) are insane and the original bass line, though really fun to play on bass guitar, was transposed one octave down and eventually swapped out with synth bass.
This track of course is a tribute to the beatiful Megaman 5 soundtrack, which has been composed by Mari Yamaguchi. どうもありがとう、山口さん For some reason there are rumours that the Wily Stage theme has actually been composed by Yoko Shimomura, but I couldn't find any reliable proof for that.
I'll be returning to Megaman 5 of course as I like many of the tracks. Megaman 5 was the last NES game my parents bought me back in the day and here in Germany we didn't get Megaman 6, so it holds a deep spot in my heart. I'm glad I could finally get to this piece. So Merry Christmas to everybody and see you soon...Megaman X2 - Wheel Gator CoverMETALLTOOL2023-09-02 | Soon streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, Itunes, Deezer, Tidal and many more!!! I fiinally got this done, just before my trip to the netherlands. It's been a while since I shot a playthrough video. I always wanted to do the Wheel Gator stage theme and it wasn't easy transscribing from SPC to real instruments. Especially the drums go hard on the X2 OST, which was composed and arranged by the awesome Yuki Iwai.
In 1995 I remember buying the game in our local second hand video game store! Seing the artwork through the shop window I thought: "What? There's a second one?" It was a beautiful sunny day outside, but I did die a thousand times ingame :)
Once again special thanks go out to my man Kevin Allen, who is responsible for the excellent engaging artwork. Check out his channel: youtube.com/@TechnicallySomething
Merry Christmas everyone!!! This year is coming to an end and I wanted to finally release this track! I tried to put in as much effort as I could this year. Thankfully the talented Kevin Allen once more contributed to this with an intense artwork, which even topped what I had imagined. Thank you so much mate!!!
Track Info While Megaman X3 is not perfect, I still love the game. The sometimes out of place sounding instruments in the game never managed to hide the fact that Kinuyo Yamashita composed a fantastic soundtrack under a lot of time constraints.
Thank you for your contributions Ms. Yamashita!!! (be it Castlevania or Rockman)
I tried to make tha bass audible enough, because I think that the bassline is the trademark of this composition. Other than the original loop I had to throw in my 2 cents as usual. In the end section I just played the Bass riff an octave lower and it kind of reminded me of Pantera. I'm still not done with X3 however so expect more.

Hello my friends, this is just a simple cover of the Highway Stage from the Shinobi Game Gear version. I never played or owned the game. This was a direct request from an old friend of mine. The track inspired some classic heavy metal ideas so there you go. The original was composed by the legendary Yuzo Koshiro, whom I will cover more of in the future! P.S. I still suck at making suspensefull music videos, but that's not my forte anyway.
Expect some Megaman X3 coming very soon!
I hope you enjoy.Megaman X - Sigma Stage (Cover)METALLTOOL2021-12-26 | Don't forget to hit the like and subscribe buttons!
Call this a tribute to all the wonderful people who composed the soundtrack to Mega Man X. The first game still holds up as one of the most important gaming experiences of my life. I tried to convey every feeling I got as a child while playing this stage. You could say it's a dream of mine to recreate what I heard in my head in 1994 with real instruments. Everything except the drums has been recorded completely and unaltered by my hands on guitar, bass and keyboard/synths, another goal that is dear to my heart and a very important factor in my releases. On top of that I respect the source material so much, I can't help but drown into somewhat unhealthy perfectionism. I guess that's why you all have to wait endlessly.... sorry guys!!
Very special thanks to: Setsuo Yamamoto, Makoto Tomozawa, Yuki Iwai, Yuko Takehara and Toshihiko Horiyama

I Know I'm pretty late with this one, but a lot of stuff happened in the last couple of months and on top of that I fell sick for quite some time. Nonetheless I worked very hard on this one. I don't know how I stretched this to 4 minutes, but I like to continue doing shorter covers.
What more can I say, Mega Man X... One of my all time favourite games for sure. Music, gameplay, difficulty, atmosphere.... it's all there. I love the soundtrack, it's a holy grail to me, hence why I had to put a lot of effort in this track. More are defenitely to follow.
Massive thanks to Dominic Ninmark once again, proving he does not need a tablet to draw... :D thanks for the ever so awesome artwork my friend!!!

Back again with my third Gundam Wing Remix. I almost forgot this one, but thanks to 'The Platinum Patriot' reminding me I decided to put it in between the next releases
It's been almost a year since I made a playthrough video and I thought it's time to do one for as many releases as possible in the forseeable future.
This track was composed by Hiroyuki iwatsuki with the help of Haruo Ohashi. I won't do the entire soundtrack, just to make things clear, as for the time being only two other tracks are on my list and you can pretty much guess which ones I mean.
As seen in the video I recorded the bass guitar, lead & rhythm guitars as well as strings and synth lead parts myself, with exception of the drums (which I cannot play as good as I would like yet) and the final synth solo (which is impossible, but I didn't want to redo it). Those were programmed. Recorded, programmed and mixed by Metalltool.
It's really fun concentrating on this soundtrack as I am currently watching the Gundam Wing TV series and progressing. So far it's pretty entertaining.
The track will be available for download as soon as I'll have finished creating my Distrokid account. I've had some trouble with it, so no release date yet unfortunately.
A special thanks once again to my friend Dominic 'Nitroflasher' Ninmark who made the retro title art.
Even though I'm trying to remix the last two tracks from the Gundam Wing SNES game I am still working on Storm Eagle, as the 10 year anniversary of this chanel is coming up pretty soon.
I hope I can stick to the faster release schedule from the last couple of months. I love doing these remixes and you guys seem to like it so I hope I don't dissapoint with this one! Cheers!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I came across this very fun game lately: Gundam Wing: Endless Duell for Super Famicom. Pretty much an amped up version of Power Rangers Fighting Edition, with different franchise and a even better soundtrack. I instantly recognized the signature sound of Natsume's Hiroyuki Iwatsuki & Haruo Ohashi. I missed out on this game big time as it was a japanese only release. I decided to remix the versus screen and character select tracks and somehow combine them, with a portion of my own. I haven't seen the show though, so no nostalgia once again. I'll cover more tracks of this game in the future.
I'm still working on storm eagle, major releases take a lot of time so hang on...

Hi there fellas, back with my newest remix: Wired Weather. It's a remix of Wire Sponge's stage theme. This was a direct request from my good friend Dominic Ninmark, who also draw the amazing artwork (thank you!). I always like the entire soundtrack, compared to X3, so this one is long overdue. But I'm not done with X2, not yet by a long shot. X2 is a great game, which unsurprisingly doesn't top the original, but comes very close. It's a lot of fun. This stage is rather short and not that great, it's background music however rocks and to me still is extraordinary for a game like X2. It's very jazzy and progressive almost fusion. Yuki Iwai, who also worked on X1 composed the entire soundtrack for X2, alone! This track doesn't contain any guitar at all in it's original form and is brass-laden, so I put just a tad bit guitar into it. I used a new VST plugin I got named Session Horns by Native Instruments and tried my best to get a good brass background into the mix. It wasn't easy. I went back to the year 1996, where I just bought Megaman X3 in my favorite game store. Already back in those days it was a rare game, so rare I could only get a used copy. I love Megaman X3, it was a proper send-off from the SNES era. I don't like the entire soundtrack, but certain tracks just stand out like the opening stage, Gravity Beetle, Toxic Seahorse or Volt Catfish. VC is an underated theme in my opinion. I apologize for punishing you with a quickly shot boring video, but at least you have another awesome artwork from yours truly 'Dominic Ninmark' to look at in between ;).
The game's sole composer was the awesome Kinuyo Yamashita (Castlevania NES) she also worked on the Wily Wars Genesis game. And for those asking yes there will be more of X3, but I want to focus on other games first. I really want for Gravity Beetle to be a Mammoth of a track so hang in there it's going to get made (in the next 100 years) ====================================================== Gear: Cubase Artist 8.5 - OP-X Pro II ----------------------------------------------------------(Guitars, Bass & Keys)------------- - Ibanez S420BBS lefthand model (modded with Bill Lawrence 500XL Bridge Pickup) - ESP/LTD EC407L (modded with Seymour Duncan Nazgul & Sentient pickups) - Warwick Rock Bass Corvette 5 String - M-Audio Prokeys 88sx

This time I took on Thunder Force IV or as US gamers got to know it 'Lightening Force' for the Sega Mega Drive/ Genesis. TF 4 is a hard but enjoyable shooter which i didn't get to play until late 2014. So no real nostalgia for me unfortunately. The soundtrack however is so awesome that it launched me back to my 90's video game mood. By far the best track 'Stand up to myself - Staff roll' is the exclamation mark after finishing this awesome game. I probably took too much time on this one as it is relatively unknown compared to Megaman and other brands, but nevertheless I enjoyed doing it!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Being nearly 8 years in the making, this remix is one of the toughest projects I worked on so far. Many times I thought it might never see the light of day, but finally it's done., albeit not on winter time -.-
I seriously don't know why MM7 and MM8 get so much hate. To be honest the poor english dub didn't help, the japanese one is much better. But I loved how the game developers tried to tie in the FMV technology to the basic gameplay formula with updated cartoonish graphics. I remember buying this game in winter of 1998 a couple of months before I discovered Megaman X4 in the store shelves to my surprise, thinking Megaman games didn't get made anymore. No it's not the best in the series (my personal favorite is still MM7 on SNES), but it has good levels and I like the 'dark energy' story for once, it's not about Wily trying to desperately hide the fact that he is the mastermind behind the happenings in the world.
Frostman has one of the best themes in the game! I always liked the ice stages in Megaman games. This one was pretty notorious for it's snowboard parts, many peaple hated it, I find them to be a welcome change of pace .The Wily stage snowboard parts are tougher though. I really tried to nail the ice sound and as you can hear it has a very prominent FM Bass sound which I put together with the real Bass Let me know what you think below

X3 might not have had the overall best Rockman soundtrack, but several tracks really stand out. This is one of them.
I chose not to cover the mediocre Playstation/Saturn version, but the rocking SNES one instead. There's even a little hint at X4 if you can catch it!
Once again, the awesome artwork was done by the one and only 'Dominic Ninmark'. Thanks a lot mate!!

Here's a little "original" piece of music I made some time ago in a couple of hours with a SNES soundfont.
I always loved the soundtracks "Hiroyuki Iwatsuki" put out on SNES. Ninja Warriors Again is one of his best works in my opinion and it just so happens to be one of my favorite games ever. This is a little tribute to him.
Hope you enjoy.
Original composition by Metalltool with an added layer of orchestra hits by Nitroflasher (Thanks Dom).
And yes I am still working on some tracks from Megaman 8 but especially other games. I plan to release a couple of tracks this winter so stay tuned and thanks for all the views, comments, likes and subscriptions! Have a nice day

Hey Fellas, this time I remixed one of my favorite Tracks on the SNES: The 'Shopping Centre Theme' of 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - The Movie'. I just saw a couple of episodes of the TV series back in the days, but the music was cool. This is my third remix and I really try to up the ante with each release. I was looking for a big 80's Heavy Metal Rock sound with some Pop elements. The music was composed by Haruo Ohashi and Hiroyuki Iwatsuki. Iwatsuki also composed the music for Ninja Warriors Again, which is one of my favorite SNES soundtracks so this is a tribute to his craft.
Thanks to all my subscribers!!! I really wish i could upload more stuff but my studies eat up a lot of time
If you like this video feel free to comment. Please rate & subscribe and check out my other videos, I do a lot of remixes.

Hey fellas, Metalltool here: it's been a while since my last release but here it is: One of my favorites from Megaman 8! Grenade Man is pretty sick and twisted and he's kinda sadomaso don't you think? I always loved his stage theme right from the moment I first heard it back when i played the game. This remix was meant to go into a pop 80's 90's sounding direction, but the mixing was tough. The release rate will be much higher now. I hope I can release the next one in about a month or shorter, we'll see. Thanks for the support, all the subscriptions and for your feedback that helps me improve!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is a rearrangement of the opening stage from Megaman 8. I prefer the Sega Saturn version of the soundtrack so I chose to cover that one. It's definitely one of my favorite tunes of the game.
If I remember correctly I bought this game on a Saturday back in january or february of '98. It was a rainy day, so what a perfect atmosphere for sitting home trying out a new Megaman game. The soundtrack definitely had a different vibe than its predecessors which I liked. I always thought of it as a mix of Jazz and electronic beats, technoesque jazz if you want.
This is the title track of Avenging Force, the '86 action movie starring Michael Dudikoff and Steve James (r.i.p.).
Avenging Force (aka Night Hunter in Germany) offered the same routine every action movie followed back then. A couple of baddies (this time some racist white power kind of organization) wants to take down the good guys (Dudikoff and James). Only the good guys happen to be ex-marine or elite soldier I don't know. The typical stuff you know. I liked it as well as American Ninja 2. One of those movies I grew up with.
I really love those 80's action flicks, which mostly aired on TV on saturday or sunday nights. Growing up in the late 80's and the 90's. Die Hard, Bloodsport, American Ninja, Predator, First Blood Part II. Shut off you brain and enjoy. Well whatever.
The soundtrack to the movie was composed by George S. Clinton and perfectly reflects 80's action movie atmosphere. It was the time of synthesizers and wild guitar solos often backed by a drum machine. Clinton is known for his work on soundtracks for movies like Mortal Kombat, American Ninja 2 & 3 and the Austin Powers trilogy. That's just a hint as to how versatile mr. Clinton is concerning his musical capabilities.
I had some fun with Super Nintendo soundfonts lately, and I spend hours with those in Fruity Loops. This track is the result of a few hours and was composed in the style of Megaman/ Rockman 7. It reminds me of both Dr. Wily Stages and Bass/ Forte. While composing I thought of a fortress stage with Bass as its final boss. At the end Bass is getting ready for another power-up, seeking to ultimately annihilate Rockman.
This track was made with Megaman 7 soundsamples I got from "daveeeey" (thanks to Kevvviiinnn), make sure to check their channels out:
What a great year 1996 was for videogames. Crash Bandicoot, Tomb Raider, Dead Or Alive, Mega Man 8 (well that's me), Super Mario 64 and a couple of other games. Many new franchises were founded in '96. Not only did Mario go 3D, the Playstation opened the doors for many new franchises like Crash Bandicoot, Tomb Raider and of course Resident Evil. It was the latter one that took me most by surprise. I realized I had entered a whole new era of gaming, more and more focusing on adolescent and adult gamers. The first time I played Resident Evil was at a friend's house in december of '96. Little did we know what was awaiting us. The game scared the fuck out of us. Some time later in '97 I finally got the chance to play it through, ... "alone and in the dark" (reference?). I never thought I'd get scared at a game. The moment I entered the save room was like a liberation, all the tention had gone away in one moment, bringing one back to calm. That's why, I guess, hte save room tune remained in my mind for so long. One of my favorites from the Resident Evil Soundtrack, the atmosphere is really one of a kind and fits perfectly in those moments, I love it.
It's been quite some time I uploaded something, but I didn't have the time lately. This was recorded quite some years ago, can't tell you when exactly. Just showing a sign of life I guess. I'm still working on several remixes (Megaman, Axelay, Turtles In Time, etc.) and own compositions, but it takes time. I plan to release a new remix before the end of next month, but I can't promise. But I do think that on Christmas most of the stuff will be up here on YT.
Horrendous performance!! My bending sucks!! Dead Or Alive 2, ... what a game. I remember the day I bought the Dreamcast version (which is by far better than the PS2 one imo). I was glad to finally own a beat 'em up that surpassed Tekken 3. I started the game for the first time and after several stages I was to fight against the 'new' character Ein. Well the fight wasn't that great neither was the stage, but what caught my attention was the 'KICKASS' stage theme. Could a beat 'em up stage possibly have a better soundtrack? Yeah, if you're thinking about Street Fighter II you're right, but the track owns whatsoever. Several years later I got to play Dead Or Alive 4 with, yet again, Ein as a special character. It was also surprising to hear that he came along with the same stage track called 'vigaku'.
I decided to jam again to this track today and here's the accident that resultet by doing this. Just fucking rocking!! I hope to see some comments. Anyways,
The Gear I used: ~ Ibanez SA-260 FM TG Lefthand Custom Model with a Seymour Duncan JB-4 bridge and a Dimarzio HS-3 neck pickup. ~ Boss ME-50 Distortion Pedal & delay pedal ~ Recorded directly into PC ~ Cool Edit Pro 2 'VIGAKU' has been composed by: 'SHIGEKYIO OKUDA' & 'MAKOTO HOSOI'
I remember christmas in 1997, when I got the game. I was stunned by its awesomeness. I was even more hyped when I finished the game and it already got dark again outside. in short imagine a sunset on a winter eve and right at that time you finish ace combat 2 with the normal ending. ...it just felt 'perfect' and I am glad for that experience (I know it sounds weird, but f*** it)!
well, I talk to much.
I hesitated a bit but now I decided to release this video. in my opinion it's far from being good but I'll let it go this time (even though I butchered it to death). the playing is awful.
I don't know exactly who of the Ace Combat 2 sound team composed this track. but I suppose that "Kohta Takahashi" played the guitar like in most of the tracks, so credits to him, he's an awesome musician and player.

This is my rendition to one of the most awesome instrumentals ever. Whenever I hear this it makes me want to fly up into the sky with an airfighter. And it surely brings back some memories of Ace Combat 2. Can't believe it's been almost ten years the game came out
...well whatever
The song "Fire Youngman!" has been composed by: "Hiroshi Okubo" I hope to have put up a reasonable version of this (in my opinion ) masterpiece.
The song is in Emin, I mainly used the standard pentatonic scale for those who want to play it, however at the time the video was shot I used an Eflat/D# Tuning for my guitar!

(The intro song was taken from the the Top Gun soundtrack. It's called Top Gun Anthem and has been composed by Harold Faltermeyer)
