📍 Alatau City – where tomorrow’s mobility takes flight today.
KUNSHAN, 20 May 2026 – AutoFlight has successfully completed a mixed-fleet formation flight of three aircraft, comprising one V5000 Matrix and two V2000 series aircraft. The mission conducted full-scale operational validation of critical interfaces between the 5-ton and 2-ton eVTOL platforms, covering communication links, route planning, flight coordination and safety control. It demonstrated AutoFlight’s system integration and engineering capabilities across multiple models, tonnages and mission scenarios, and generated valuable operational experience for multi-aircraft coordination in low-altitude logistics, emergency response, maritime support and regional air transport.
Since its public transition flight in February 2026, the V5000 Matrix has continued design optimisation. The cargo hybrid-electric variant, the V5000CGH, is now advancing through airworthiness certification on schedule, marking a decisive shift from R&D validation to a systematic, standardised approval process.
The V5000CGH has a maximum take-off weight of 5,700 kg, a maximum cruise speed of 280 km/h and a cargo volume exceeding 14 m³, accommodating two AKE standard air cargo containers. Maximum payload is 1.5 tonnes and maximum range is 1,500 km, enabling ton-class cargo transport over thousand-kilometre distances and providing a technical pathway for the low-altitude economy to scale from urban short-haul to regional long-haul logistics.
Payload capacity, operational range and cost efficiency remain the key constraints on mass deployment in the low-altitude economy. The V5000CGH addresses all three through its ultra-heavy payload, extended range and large-volume cargo hold, further expanding the operational envelope of eVTOL in high-value transportation.
The aircraft is suited to a range of demanding applications. In large-scale emergency rescue, it enables rapid delivery of rescue equipment, emergency supplies and medical materiel, strengthening post-disaster aerial response. In offshore energy and marine support, its cargo capacity and long endurance improve supply-chain efficiency for offshore installations, replacing slow maritime resupply with time-critical low-altitude delivery. On August 1, AutoFlight’s 2-ton eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) aircraft completed its inaugural cross-Yangtze River flight. The journey began at the Nanjing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) base in Pukou District, Nanjing, where the aircraft took off, flew over the Yangtze River, circled along the river, and then returned to the base. The flight covered a distance of 25kms and the flight took 10 minutes.
This flight marked the first cross-Yangtze River journey by an eVTOL weighing over one ton, offering a glimpse into the future of low-altitude travel and cultural tourism in the historic city of Nanjing.
As a key transportation hub on the Yangtze River, Nanjing is one of China’s major economic centers. Despite several bridges spanning the Yangtze River, the natural barrier still affects some cross-river travel. For instance, the 5.5km straight-line distance between Nanjing UAV Base and Yuzui Wetland Park requires a 20km drive that takes 25 minutes. However, an eVTOL aircraft can cover this distance in just 5 minutes, cutting travel time by 80%.
Nanjing, an ancient capital of the Six Dynasties, is known for its scenic spots but also its traffic congestion. During holidays, traffic delays around popular attractions can make travel 10 times slower than normal. The introduction of eVTOL aircraft offers a solution, easing road congestion while providing tourists with aerial views of the historic city, enhancing both convenience and the sightseeing experience.
Despite the presence of 29 central cities along the Yangtze River, many areas remain hard to reach. eVTOL cross-river flights provide an efficient and convenient travel solution, transforming the Yangtze from a natural barrier into a thoroughfare.AutoFlights World Record eVTOL flight on a single battery change - 250 3kmAutoFlight2024-06-26 | AutoFlight's Prosperity aircraft flew a distance of 250.3 kilometres (155.5 miles) in March 2023 on a single battery charge from the testing facility in Jining, China. AutoFlight's 'Prosperity I' is an advanced electric aircraft capable of vertical takeoff, followed by a transition to traditional horizontal flight, and boasts of speeds over 200KMH and a range exceeding 250KM. The aircraft holds the world record in the longest eVTOL flight, 250.3 km since February 2023.
When services are fully operational, eVTOL air taxis will be safe, quiet and offer emission free affordable transport for the masses.Worlds Longest eVTOL Flight - 250.3KM - AutoFlightAutoFlight2023-03-02 | AutoFlight, a global eVTOL pioneer, records the world's longest eVTOL flight with a vertical takeoff and landing!
Recording a flight of 250.3KM, verified via FAA approved avionics (Stratus 3 ADS-B) and ForeFlight, this is the longest distance eVTOL flight to date and a critical step for AutoFlight on its path to EASA Certification of the Prosperity I aircraft.

The new video debuts three months after the original POC video and includes a modified, more efficient design of Prosperity I.
In the latest design, new optimized lifting propellers allow for a higher hover efficiency, while the two pushing propellors that were previously on either side of the air taxi have been replaced with one center propellor with twin motors to enhance cruising abilities. The latest design of Prosperity I is very close to the final design which will be released later this year.
About Prosperity I: Prosperity I aims to carry a maximum of 3 passengers and 1 pilot for a range of up to 250 kilometers. The cruising speed is 200 kilometers per hour.
We can imagine airport commutes, short transfers between parts of a city, connecting two nearby cities or enabling trips to the countryside while avoiding traffic on the ground. A trip that takes hours by car will be reduced to about 10 minutes with Prosperity I. Without being any less safe or more expensive than a taxi ride or parking fees.

Vertical flight for the proof of concept for Prosperity I required eight rotors to lift the 3,307 pounds, including four-person, state-of-the-art electric aircraft into the air. Once the aircraft reached an altitude of 150 meters and the airspeed of 100-110mph the fixed wing part of the eVTOL generated lift.
At this point, Prosperity I entered the complex transition phase – the rotors on the top stopped spinning and locked in a streamlined position, while the propellers on the rear pushed the aircraft forward like a traditional fixed wing plane. As shown in the video, the transitions for the Prosperity I are seamless, safe and smooth thanks to the quality of the engineering and the rigorous attention to detail in the complex aerodynamics.
