After two years in the making Stained is finally here on Youtube as it was meant to be seen: COMPLETED! :D I'm so excited right now you don't even know! PLOT SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT! READ ONLY AFTER WATCHING! So, couple of things. 1. Even though there were things I probably could've fixed up a bit in 'Part 1' of Stained, I decided to just leave it alone. Only thing I did was add the "Trespassers!" soundbite I was missing in the first place. 2. I was originally going to include a minute or so of video after the photographs in the credits. It would've had Sinbad as adult Jim, Teen Derek as teen Hogarth, Nita or Chel for Lilo...but I couldn't find anyone for Nani, which is part of why I pitched the idea. I might eventually finish it and upload it as an 'extras' vidlet, but not any time soon. More stuff: I think the vid's pretty straightforward; aftermath of a tragedy and how the characters deal. One thing that I know I'll probably get questions about (besides songs/character/movie names...DON'T DO IT OR I WILL SMITE YOU!!!!! AND SMITE YOU GOOD!!! I HAVE CREDITS FOR A REASON!!) will be the 'explosion' scene. It took me a while to figure out how Jim would move on from living in grayscale, mourning his parents and the life he could've had, to moving on and living a new life despite his loss and I decided that there needed to be a definite rupture. And nothing says 'rupture' like explosions, right guys??? Lol, so, on the literal scale you could say Jim discovered one hellova photoalbum and you could wonder on about who put it there...go ahead, wonder away! OR, look at it on a symbolic level, which is how I intended it to be. So, while Jim is looking at the place where he found his parents' bodies he experiences what I'm calling 'a collision of memories' (aka the blue sparkly bits). The last thing he remembers is when his parents brought Hogarth home for the first time, how happy he was to be a big brother and how proud his parents were of him. That's when Jim realizes how important it is for him to love and cherish the family he does have (Hogarth) rather than hold onto the family he's lost. Also, I tried (well, not 'tried', to be honest it happened by accident XD) to give that whole part (explosion to Jim floating down) a 'death, heaven and rebirth' feeling because I feel like his old self had to die in order for him to be able to begin again. Oh, and a little bit on Nani and Lilo. My favourite girl to pair with Jim is Audrey, but I found Lilo and Nani to be the perfect pair for the brothers since, in the movie, the sisters also grow up dealing with the loss of their parents. I saw Jim and Hogarth and Nani and Lilo as two halves of a family that, together, make up a new whole one :) Anyway, that's all I can think of for now. Laters! ~NS

The Real King Stefan - A Tribute xNightshadex 2015-03-10 | Warning: Maleficent spoilers below! (Skim to the bottom if you're just looking for song/artist info!)While I was in bed (actually, 'on couch' would be more accurate, since my room is under renovation) I ended up calling to mind 2014's Maleficent (which I watched one of the last times I had a cold). And, once again, I found myself absolutely irate. Why? Several reasons. [Disclaimer: These are my thoughts and my arguments. Obviously, you are welcome to your own.]3) BACK STORY.Giving the self-proclaimed 'Mistress of all Evil' a sentimental back story is a stretch to begin with, but portraying her as a doe-eyed youth with no conniving inclinations, or wicked tendencies, or any kind of mean streak whatsoever goes beyond stretching it. My disbelief does not suspend that far. Even though the loss of her wings is traumatic, as is Stefan's betrayal, I would be more inclined to believe in her complete change of character (meaning, the vengeance she takes out on the entire world and not just Stefan) if she hadn't been quite so 'innocent' and 'perfect' at the beginning. Even seeing her pull a few mean-spirited pranks, or showing a degree of selfishness would have been enough. The writers tried, essentially, to turn her into a Disney princess and I feel that this was a mistake. 2) IGNORING THE FACTS.This film was marketed as 'the real story behind the story', yet instead of operating behind the scenes it straight-up changes the original movie's plot and characters to suit Maleficent's revamped character. It can't be the "real story behind the story" if it's changing the facts. If it hadn't been marketed this way, I wouldn't have gone into the movie with the same expectations. - Let's start with the most obvious. In the animated film Maleficent is actively searching for Aurora for sixteen years. The film makes a point of pointing out that she has no idea where the princess is, and—judging from her enraged reaction when she finds out her minions were still searching for a baby—if she had found Aurora she would have most definitely killed her. However, even though this inaccuracy discredits Maleficent (2014) right from the get-go, I'm willing to let it slide—because when compared to every other inaccuracy and outrageous embellishment, this barely makes a mark. - Next. Maleficent does not turn into a dragon. Like, WTF, that was the best thing about her! I don't have a problem with her crow's human shape-shifting shenanigans (since there are plenty of instances where that could have happened behind the scenes in the original) but self-sacrificing dragon—no. Be gone! - The fairies, though bumbling and nonsensical in the original, became completely mindless little Navis tittering around aimlessly. Maleficent is given all of the maternal credit. Don't think so. - Philip does not do ANYTHING. He is entirely stripped of his heroics and humour; the only two things he had going for him-- good looks notwithstanding. Sorry, Disney but if Prince Philly is anything, it's brave. 1) KING STEFAN.Without a doubt, the number one reason why I cannot and will not (voluntarily) watch Maleficent a second time around. Not only does this film dethrone King Stefan from his humour (SKUMPS!) and paternal nature, it turns him into—arguably—the evilest Disney villain of all time (yes, even eviler than the Mistress of All Evil herself) by making him greedy, power-hungry, manipulative and—wait for it—a rapist. Yes, a rapist. Disney writers have confirmed that Maleficent's loss of wings = rape. Obviously, since I made this tribute in memory of Disney's original King Stefan, I have a problem with this. And not just because I've loved King Stefan (and Hubert! And the drunk servant!) since childhood.More than anything else, I have a problem with the fact that in order to make an evil woman good Disney chose to make a good man evil. If you have kept up with Disney over the years, you have probably noticed the 'female empowerment' trend (I would argue that all of the princesses are strong in their own ways, that's another argument for another day). I'm all for female empowerment (I am a WOMAN, after all), but I believe in equality, not dominance. Many of the men in this film were brought down (Stefan became the villain, Philip the hero was cast aside, Hubert is entirely absent) to give the female characters prominence. I think it's wrong for women to be raised up by putting men down, and vice versus; this is an incredibly flawed kind of feminism that will not benefit anyone in the long run and it makes me incredibly uncomfortable to see it in media, let alone in a Disney movie. That is essentially why I made this tribute. To make a point, blow off steam—and recover from a cold. Victor (Van Dort) & Sparky - My Immortal xNightshadex 2012-10-22 | HAPPY HALLOWEEN!Yes, this is a crossover featuring Tim Burton's Frankenweenie (2012) and Corpse Bride: Victor Frankenstein and Victor Van Dort. Everyone's noticed the visual similarities between the two, so I figured I'd bring the two together. Plus, I wanted to ;) Disclaimers, excuses and whatnot (SPOILER ALERT):*This is definitely one of the most personal fanvideos I've ever done, or will probably ever do. All of the emotions portrayed in this video are almost uncomfortably close to my own. 1. I used clips from the Frankenweenie trailers, webclips and featurette. I don't have a copy of the full film, so don't ask! Oh, and tombstone is from a promo picture. I photoshopped it a leeeettle bit ^-^2. I haven't actually seen the movie yet. In fact, I purposely made this before seeing it since I KNOW I would've spent the whole time I was watching it thinking despairingly of all the clips I could be using for my video, clips that I won't have access to any time soon. Did not want to start the making of this video feeling completely blocked ;)3. Needless to say, due to lack of clips I couldn't make a full video. If I had been able to make a full video I would've found a way to include a storyline with Lord Barkus so that he didn't have to show up as some random, psychotic deus ex machina plot device, like he does here -_- Very sorry about that. The randomness of it annoys me more than it does anyone else, I guarentee you, but I couldn't think of another way to have Victor die (Actually--that's another thing. I didn't even WANT to have him die because it's excessively tragic and more than a little uncalled for, but I had to have him meet "Scraps/Sparky" in a way that deviated from the original Corpse Bride storyline--for creative purposes :P).4. Emily is supposed to be a somewhat angelic figure here. 5. I KNOW this is not my best work. AND IT ANNOYS ME ENORMOUSLY. I am satisfied with it up until the crazy instrumental starts. That part...ugh....It's missing the feeling I originally intended for it to have. I wish I'd had enough clips of Frankenweenie AND of Victor playing the piano so that I could've somehow excluded Lord Barkus entirely.6. I may remake this in the future, but for now I'm leaving it since it took SO LONG and I have many other things to do. 7. Non/Disney Crossover - Moses, Shanti (Chel) & Jasmine - Lucy xNightshadex 2012-01-15 | READ BEFORE WATCHING: WHAT?! A new, COMPLETE crossover from Shade?! Crazy, I know. This one's been around for a really long time, though I've never uploaded a preview of it. In fact, it's been sitting at about 90% done for about 5 or 6 months now. I worked on it on and off, but one of the biggest reasons why I didn't complete it earlier is because I've been avoiding writing this very involved video description. V.V' I'll try to be as brief as possible though. Here are some mostly technical-based things you need to know before watching: -The "Lucy" in the song is Shanti, not Jasmine, though this isn't made completely clear until the second verse. -Scenes with blurred edges (both colour and grayscale) are usually flashbacks. -Grayscale and coloured scenes with light rays and clean edges are flash forwards of what could've been. -Don't expect any other new crossovers any time soon. READ AFTER WATCHING (TO AVOID SPOILERS): This is the real-life story that inspired the song "Lucy" and this video: "[It's] a story about a young girl and a young guy who found themselves in a hard situation. They didn't know what to do when they found out that she was pregnant; they were young, they didn't have any money, they were scared, they didn't want to tell anybody, they didn't know what to do, and the only option that they could see was to terminate the pregnancy. Disney Crossover - Prince Naveen & Disney Girls - In My Head (ROUGH DRAFT) xNightshadex 2011-08-24 | Hey everyone, I usually--make that never--post rough drafts of fully finished works (I usually just do previews) but since I've been working on this since The Princess and the Frog was in theatres--Oh yeah, long time XD--and I'm not sure when I'll be putting the finishing touches on it, I figured what the heck....give the people something while they wait XD This is pretty much what it's going to look like anyway, with the exception of the maskin I'll be cleaning up from the part with Aurora onwards. Random project I started when I felt the whim to work with both Helga Sinclair and Link Park. Plot: Basically Helga's a 'super soldier' biologically engineered by Mok (is that his name? XD From Rock and Rule --- horrible movie. I don't recommend it to anyone, even if it is Canadian.). But little does Mok know that the clock is ticking till his beautiful killing machine regains her memories...I refuse to say anymore. Anyway, like I said. Random. May finish. Chose Mok because he's the creepiest fudging animated villain ever. I'd rather snuggle up with Frollo than this guy. Ugh.

Thought of messing with the song at work today and decided to do it and give a short update with it too since I am going to bed in 5. Ok! So, yes, obviously I haven't uploaded anything in a while. Reason? I'm working 2 jobs (one of which is video editing :D), doing 2 summer courses (the one just finished yay!), redoing my bedroom, trying to fit in art and writing, annnnd am having a social life (yay summer!). So, vidding is suffering. The good news? I have about 3-4 full length videos at about 70-90% complete, depending on the video. I know Stained's in high demand so I'll be probably be posting that soonish (one other, slightly less complicated video might beat it out onto the internet though). I forgot to list the 2nd Goofy Movie (I used both), so sue me XD.~Surprise! Happy Easter!I started this last month after I saw a crossover with Angel from Rock and Rule, though I don't remember which one lol. I was going to do a crossover with Angel and Max Goof but once I saw Omar and Mocha (she's technically nameless, so I gave her a name :P) side by side I had to do this instead. This was a little different for me, since I don't often work with non-human characters (Bambi and Kovu being the exception), but also because I've never seen Rock and Rule. I actually never had the desire to see that movie since I'm not a fan of cartoons-for-adults (despite being a full-fledged adult :P) but I was excited to find out that it was Canadian XD. So anyway, since I also gave up watching movies for Lent, I just went through R&R in Vegas and grabbed clips. Apologies for the liquidly plot! Since each of these character hardly had any clips (let alone decent clips!) I did my best with what I had. Also, I know the masking could've been better in some spots but I did not want to put in the time to fix it since it was a minor project. The only time I'm going to spent 2 hours editing a second-long clip is in a project like Stained or my Planet Atlantis vids lol. The girl is not actually a fairy, but I decided to make her one for the video. She's actually one of Mr. Don Bluth's creations, Princess Daphne from his video game Dragon's Lair. I haven't been doing a lot of vidding lately because of school, but also because I'm using the time I was using to vid to write instead. I figured that if I want to be a novelist I'd better snap to it and actually WRITE! Lol. I put AU (alternate universe) in the title, which is ironic considering the entire series is an AU, but it's in there because even though I am mainly keeping to the truth of the pairing, I am tweaking certain things. PS- I've been taking a break from all sorts of vidding to work instead on my own artworks/writing. Just in case you've been wondering where the heck all my unfinished Disney crossovers are. Meg & Tulio Sequel - Continue? xNightshadex 2010-11-29 | Possible sequel to "You Love is a Lie" I actually made this preview months ago, but I figured, what the heck I'll post it just for your brief entertainment. Obviously a lot of the chromakeying is out to lunch, but hey---it's a preview. All the effects/colouring are sparse and it's texture free in order for it to feel like the first vid. I wouldn't be working this right away because 1 - I haven't gotten the chance to fix Sony Vegas yet (but thanks in advance for alll the help guys!) 2- I have Stained, Carnival of Rust and others to work on first :P, but I figured I'd get an opinion on it anyway.

Sony V crashing is one of the big reasons why I haven't gotten MEP parts posted yet, let alone other stuff :( I've had it with Sony Veg Pro 8. For some reason it's not just my Pro 8 that's conspired against me, it's all of them! (Vickster sent me a link to hers and it was still all like 'layers what?!') So I'd REALLY appreciate it if you guys could help me out! The whole 'no more than 3 layers thing' isn't always a problem but for nearly ALL of my major projects (Stained, Carnival of Rust, etc) 3 is the bare minimum :( PS - Thank you Sony V for sabotaging me -- again! Could there be a more perfect match? :) Once again this a very old project that I decided to finish to delete the films from my harddrive and clear up space, but I'm really glad that this finally came to be. I remember being so excited with the idea! Pretty happy with the outcome too. Even though Claudia is a manipulative, murderous little monster in doll's clothing, I always had a soft spot for her because she eternally suffered with being a grown woman in a child's body---a fate she never chose. A big part of why I made this was to give Claudia her happy ending. The Spiderman movies I have are ripped from my own DVDs and are therefore HUGE -- 17 GBs huge. I figured if I scrapped the 2 Spiderman related projs I had going I could clear up a lot of room, but as I was looking at this all I could think was "There's only like 20 seconds left and I worked so hard on this!! Gotta finish it!' -- So I did :) It was fun too, since I haven't worked with live-action for so long! I did try to find royalty-free songs for this project, but nothing seemed to fit. These are all scans from art books, notebooks and scraps of paper that I've collected over the last seven years. Magi - Shattered - 2,280 Subs! xNightshadex 2010-03-07 | I never usually do vids for my # of subscribers, but I knew I wanted so make some sort of little vid with Cornelius (because no one takes him seriously -- including me XD), so I figured this was a good excuse. It's only 2 minutes long but it took me ALL FREAKING DAY! One of the reason that it took me FOREVER is that I'm not really very familiar with the clips in any of these movies V.V Oh and in case you're wondering, I really don't think I could've made this vid the actual length of the song because there simply aren't enough clips XD. Of Cornelius anyway. But that's enough griping. Enjoy! Plot : Real simple. Feeling like she's losing Peter. Plus she knows he can never grow up so the whole romance thing's a bust. Anyway, Magi (old fairy lady) shows up (I've made it ambiv whether she's a villain or not, and either way I'm real proud that I'm the first to use her...MWAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!!). And she's all like, "gots some magic seeeeeed" and it poofs PP into a superhot fairy prince. Should make everyone happy right? BUT IT DUSENT. Non/Disney Mini Crossover - Marina & Megara - I Am a Pirate - Dedicated to millerjajtfco! xNightshadex 2009-11-15 | YAY! I love it when YT gives me awesome screencaps!!! So basically, this was completely unplanned and done in a day. All I wanted to do originally was see if I could edit the line "even courtney would love us" out of the song because I think it's a dumb line and completely ruins it! lol So, after I did that I started playing around with clips and here we are!
