Hey guys! For the past year and a half I haven't been as active as I'd have liked to on here, but I'm happy to finally be putting out this video, as well as our 5-track cover EP of music from Super Mario Odyssey! There's already a music video for Jump Up, Super Star! on Ro's channel (linked above), but we also plan on making videos for all of the other tracks, so stay tuned!
Moon Rock has been in the making for over two years now, and even though it really did not have to take this long, I'm glad we're releasing it now! We are both super proud of the work done on it and we're stoked to finally have the final product in its definitive form!
This is also my first time releasing a licensed cover project! After many years of not really feeling ready to start licensing covers, this was a great first step, and something I definitely want to stick to moving forward. I'll probably talk more about this in an update video soon, but I definitely want to focus less on just making youtube videos, and instead focus on cross-platform releases.
Thanks for your patience everyone, I'm so happy to finally be putting out music again, and I sincerely hope you guys enjoy :)

π β THOUGHTS β π
I donβt even know what to say here. Itβs been a long time. My life has changed drastically. But Iβm happy to be finally putting out a new cover.
This song was requested by Legendav on patreon. I donβt know if you even remember requesting this by now but I hope you enjoy this anyway :)
Iβve been working on this one since pretty much right after Gang-Plank Galleon came out last year, and finished it completely a few months later, but then decided to re-record literally everything. I donβt really know why. Iβm glad I did it though because I think this iteration is much better. Iβm very very relieved that Iβve finally decided that the cover is done and released it.
Overall I think Iβve come a long way since the last cover. Despite not uploading here for so long, Iβve still been making a lot of music in the meantime and I think Iβve improved a lot. I truly believe that this cover is on an entirely new level from anything Iβve released previously and I really hope that this belief is actually correct.
I took a bit of a different approach for the video this time. Rather than filming various different parts (lead, rhythm guitar, bass) and cutting between them, I decided to show just one part throughout the whole song (Γ la youtube guitar βplaythroughβ videos). I think this approach worked pretty well for this video as it allowed me to spotlight just the focal parts of the song, and I think it makes for a more focused and less confusing watching experience. Let me know what you think!

Patreon Request 2/5 - requested by Ro Panuganti
I have been on a bit of a rollercoaster with this cover. I started this thing in August of last year, and for a long time I was pretty unhappy with it. I gradually spent some time re-recording some of the guitars quite a few times and adding a lot of layers, and eventually became confident in the direction the cover was heading in. I really think my performance and playing is the highlight of this cover, I was way more careful than usual to make sure every little nuance was just as I wanted it. I ended up mixing this song twice, since I really didnβt like the first mix at all and thought it would be better to start from scratch instead of trying to salvage it. I also filmed this entire video twice! I wasnβt happy with any of the shots I got the first time around, and even though these new ones are far from perfect, I like what I have now quite a lot more.
I spent a lot of time trying to get the details of this cover as polished as I could, and I think it definitely paid off. Usually, Iβll be finishing the mix, filming and editing the video all the night before uploading, but this time I was a bit more patient. I gave myself a few days to sit with the mix to really make sure I liked it, and I also gave myself a few days to sit with the video to make sure I was happy with that as well. And it was worth it, because not only did I end up making some worthwhile changes that I wouldnβt have made otherwise, but I also feel a lot more at peace with the music than usual publishing this one.
Thanks for watching everyone! The Smash Ultimate arrangement of this song is really incredible, so I hope I was able to do it justice, and I hope you enjoyed my rendition!

Finally getting around to doing the cover song requests I promised almost THREE years ago to my first five Patreon supporters. This is the first one, requested by Sanj! Thanks for your support.
I actually arranged this one back in July, but just recently re-recorded the guitars and touched up the mix. This cover is in Drop G, so itβs tied with Hyrule Field for lowest tuning Iβve used in a cover.
I'm really proud of this one, and I hope you guys dig it too!

I thought Iβd break away from video game music for a second since I got really inspired to make a cover of a track off of Matt Watsonβs new release, especially after being suggested by my friend Ryan to do so. Iβve been a huge fan of Matt and SuperMega for a while and itβs really cool to see him doing more music. Itβs been way too long since Iβve felt this type of inspiration rush, and like old times I put this whole thing together in just two days. This is also my first time singing on youtube since two years ago. I really wanted to have done a lot more vocal covers by now but regardless Iβm glad to be doing something now! I had a lot of fun with this and I hope you all dig it even though itβs something a bit different.

The final video for Moon Rock is here at last! After a very long time, we are finally parting ways with this project, and it feels really good to be truly finished with it. We want to thank you guys so much for the amazing reception weβve received to the album, itβs been really cool hearing what you guys think.
This was my first time bringing my T3i outdoors! I think it already looks a lot better than any of the other videos Iβve filmed outdoors but I definitely still have a long way to go and lots to learn. Itβs really fun though! I really enjoy filming videos outside of my usual space, despite the nerves of being in semi-public.
With Moon Rock being wrapped up, my next focus is going to be cover requests submitted by my Patrons! My next five videos are going to be requests from my first five supporters on Patreon, two of which Iβve already finished arranging and demoing out. The plan currently is to release these videos across September and October.
See you then!

Hey everybody! This is our third music video release for our new album Moon Rock, and we're excited to keep the ball rolling with the last two coming soon! (Also, this is the second video I'm uploading in a month?? I haven't uploaded 2 videos in the same month since October 2018 LOL)
This track was actually the very last one to be arranged for the album. Most of the tracks were arranged in 2018 but this one was ultimately the one holding back the release of the album, and didn't get finished arranging until early 2020. It took me a long long time to come up with anything for this arrangement, or to even sit down and *try* to come up with anything, but I couldn't be happier with where it has ended up. Having Ro's signature flavour on this track (along with the whole album of course) was perfect, his solo in the latter half of the cover is amazing.

π β THOUGHTS β π
Just wanted to give a thank you to the kind folks at DistroKid for sponsoring this video! Iβve never done a sponsorship before, so hopefully I put it together adequately. They really are a great service, and I plan on using it to continue distributing my original music moving forward.
So itβs been a long time since Iβve uploaded, again. Itβs been 8 months; the gaps between uploads seem to keep getting larger. I spent a lot of time in 2019 focusing on myself, trying to improve myself as well as slowly starting to figure out what Iβm actually doing with my real life. Although, I still have been working on a couple of larger-scale music projects, and now into 2020 theyβre finally starting to come together. So within the coming months you guys will be hearing new music from me. Hopefully I can get back to being consistent.
Making this song started with the intro riff popping into my head one day around the time I bought this guitar, and it happened to stick with me for whatever reason. I slowly fleshed out a song structure and kept notes on it, so by the time I got to actually opening the DAW and properly writing this song, it was a really fast and smooth process. I wasnβt really happy with the actual sound I was getting (plus my mixing headphones were broken), so I commissioned my friend Brandon for mixing, who never fails to impress me with his production skills.
So, yes, I have a new guitar now!! I actually bought it quite a while ago by now, but itβs still the first appearance its making on my channel! I absolutely love everything about it. The Bareknuckle Aftermaths in it are so incredibly crunchy yet full. Absolutely no compromises in them; they sound incredibly heavy yet they retain crystal clear note definition. Itβs the first guitar Iβve owned that has locking tuners, so that was a total game changer. Also, this guitar is aesthetically perfect for me. Needless to say Iβm in love with it, and you will be seeing loads more of it in future videos.
It feels good to be back again. My next video wonβt be until May, but itβs gonna be sick. See you guys then!

It sure has been a while, hasn't it? Not exactly sure how I've let half the year go by without uploading anything, hopefully I'll get back into the swing of things soon. I've been working on a lot of music behind the scenes, including two projects that I'm hoping I'll be able to share with you all by the end of 2019.
The response I received from the Quiet and Falling cover has been amazing and has exceeded anything I had expected from that video. Seeing it being played on both SGDQ and AGDQ was absolutely surreal too, and something I would have never even dreamed of. Thanks to everyone who requested for me to cover more of it, because it's an incredible soundtrack.
Probably the most noticeable difference since last video is that I got a new camera! I'm still learning and figuring out how it works, but it already looks significantly better than any other camera I've used on this channel, so that's really exciting for me.
Musically, this cover was very heavily inspired by Northlane (which of course isn't anything out of the usual), and I really wanted to write some challenging guitar riifs that involved tapping. I think they ended up sounding pretty cool :)
I'm really glad to be back, I can't say my next video is going to be soon, but like I said I do have a lot of exciting stuff to show you guys. See y'all in the next one!

Hey guys!! It's been a while, almost 2 months since I've uploaded. I'm not any less motivated to make stuff, I sadly just have less time right now. I'm gonna try to make as many videos as I can though!
So this one is pretty different from most of my other stuff, or at least I think it is. This was a cover I've been wanting to do pretty much since undertale came out, and I'm happy I waited until now to cover it, because I'm super happy with how it came out. During arranging this I was confident that this was the best cover I've ever made, but after I've listened to it twenty thousand times during mixing I'm not sure I'm as excited about it now, but still, I'm super happy with it.
Hope you guys have a happy holidays and Merry Christmas!!!!!

So when Deltarune came out, I strangely got like a huge motivation boost to make a video. I don't know what it was, but something about a game as big as this coming out and so many people jumping on covers got me really excited. While I am late to the punch, and this song is definitely the most covered one, I'm still super happy with this. I actually finished almost all of this song on Monday but had to delay it until now because school was just kicking me in the face so hard to the point where I couldn't find 2 free hours in the day just to edit the video. But now here we are, I hope you guys dig it!
I was hugely influenced by Polyphia for this cover, and I even borrowed some riffs from their Inspire EP, which I thought suited this cover quite nicely!
It's been a while since I've had a guest solo on a cover, and I'm so glad I could have Marvin on for this one! He made some of my absolute favourite Undertale covers, and I'm sooo looking forward to what he has to offer with this soundtrack!

Here's the last spooky cover for this year! I actually intended on doing this track last year, and recorded a couple ideas but didn't have time to do it. Glad I was able to finish it this year, it ended up being one of my favourite arrangements I've made, even though it was really hard to finish this in time.
November's gonna be a little slower, I don't want to stress myself out with making covers on time and there's other non-youtube stuff I have to focus on too. See you guys soon :)

It took a long time for inspiration to hit for this cover. I knew I wanted to cover this track, and had a couple ideas, but it took a while for a good arrangement together. When it finally happened though, I was super excited. I wanted to finish it fast though, so I could spread it out decently from my last cover for this month (which will come out on halloween day!!). Because of this, it was a little stressful to finish this whole thing in time, and i ended up making most of this in 3 days. Iβve always regarded Theme of Laura as one of my favourite video game songs ever, and Iβm really happy with how this cover came together.

the weekend huh?Silent Hill 2: True - Metal Cover | Christian RichardsonChristian Richardson2018-10-10 | apparently there's a torture chamber in my house
This was a spur of the moment type of cover. I was going through the Silent Hill 2 soundtracks in hopes to find a song that I didn't already know, and as soon as I heard this one I started arranging it. These spooky songs are so much fun to arrange, because it complements this genre so nicely. This arrangement has so many layers to it, and I think I did a pretty good job blending it all together into a nice, listenable track.
I have always wanted to film a video in the storage room of my house, since I thought it would be appropriate for a halloween/spooky cover. We recently cleaned out that room, so it ended up being a perfect opportunity to film a video in it. I hope you guys dig this whole "TV" aesthetic to the video, we tried to match what we knew of the atmosphere of the game.

-Spider-Man 2: Pizza Theme - Metal Cover | Christian RichardsonChristian Richardson2018-09-30 | Delivering pizzas in Spider-Man 2 on the PS2 really makes you FEEL like Spider-Man
I haven't uploaded in two months! No clue how that happened. Things have been busy lately and I guess I fell into a habit of not finishing any videos. Gonna try to break that though! It's Halloween season so I'll try to put some spooky covers together as I've always done!
Arranging this song was a very weird time. I posted a ranty twitter video about it but I'll write it here too since I like to fill video descriptions with my dumb stories. I started this cover back in June because one of my friends told me I should cover this track. I thought it would be super fun to keep the original song's crazy tempo and key changes while turning it into an actual metal song. What I had done to learn the song was I found a syntesia remix that was very accurate but it didn't have any tempo or key changes. I used this basically just so learning and arranging the song would be significantly easier. So I downloaded this remix and threw it in my Reaper project. Then I didn't work on the cover for 3 months. When I went to work on it again, I used the remix that was still in my project to arrange the song, but I somehow COMPLETELY forgot about the tempo and key changes that were SUPPOSED to happen. So I arranged a perfectly normal, stagnant version of the Pizza Theme. I thought I was done, and I was about to film the video until I went back to listen to the original song and realized I had forgotten everything. So today I added the section in the middle with the increasing tempo and keys, and now I think I'm satisfied with this cover. What a project, very glad it's over.

I'm surprised it took me so long to do a video for this one, considering it was the single before the album came out, but here we are! I like this one quite a lot and I hope you guys do too :)
Hello!!! A couple years ago I started an annual tradition to do covers of Zelda overworld themes filmed outdoors, and here we are at the fourth video of that tradition! This exact date also happens to be the 4 year anniversary of this channel! So I'll probably make a little wrap-up/update video in the coming weeks.
Hyrule Field from Twilight Princess. I had no idea what this arrangement was going to be like going in, but it ended up being pretty cool IMO and surprisingly diverse and dynamic compared to usual. This cover sets a new record for me in terms of lowest tuning: Drop G! Getting the mix for this one together actually took waaay more time than usual, probably because of the lower tuning, but I ended up getting it to a point where I'm pretty happy with it now!
I managed to get myself (and some very very helpful friends) to film in public again! To avoid as many people as possible, we filmed this at about 6:30am - 9:00am, which means waking up and staying awake during filming was hard, but I think it was super well worth it. Filming this video was SO MUCH FUN. We also messed around with a nearby playground as you can tell, which includes me playing guitar while sitting on a tiny zipline. Since the last video, I've also made a slight camera upgrade, which I think looks a lot crisper and more defined than the one I was using before.

Whoo boy. I've been wanting to cover this song for quite the while, yet it's one of those tracks that's almost too perfect to touch, along with so many other tracks from this soundtrack. Upon being invited to GameLark just when starting this album, I thought it would be the right time to finally jump on this song. I'm really glad I did, and I'm super proud of this arrangement. I'd say it's one of my best covers to date and MIGHT even top Memories of Green. I took a LOT of inspiration and ideas from Northlane and Erra, some of my most-listened-to bands right now. The whole project ended up coming together quite smoothly, I hope you all enjoy!

This song's a pretty special one to me. One of the reasons I called this song "Fragments" is because it consists of many... fragments... of many really old original songs/ideas, some of which I wrote back as early as 2013. It was honestly an incredible experience to take some of these ideas and put them into one big coherent piece when I was writing this, and I'm so happy to finally be delivering a playthrough. I hope you all enjoy this one!
I started listening to this album the second it came out, without any pre-emptive thought about doing a cover from it. About a minute into the first track, I was super inspired and immediately messaged Brin, the vocalist on this cover. We put this together in about 4 days, and I honestly donβt think this could be any better. Iβm really really proud of this, and even though itβs not the usual thing you see on this channel, I hope you all liked it. This is also the first full cover Iβve made with a vocalist, and I threw in my own vocal harmonies too.

This cover has been in the works for SO long. I arranged it back in December, with the intention of filming it in the snow. Buuut there was hardly any snow, and I was away from home during the winter break so it didn't really work. BUT we got snow a few weeks ago, and so I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to pick this song back up.
I'm so glad I did it, because this is probably my favourite video I'm uploading to the channel. It's all just so fun to me, and I hope you guys feel the same way!!
Next week we're doing another anime cover!

-Post Malone: Big Lie - Instrumental Metal Cover | Christian RichardsonChristian Richardson2018-02-28 | THIS IS A DIFFERENT VIDEO AND I'M NERVOUS.
I'd like to first of all welcome all of the new subscribers that came from Jules' medley. I'm overwhelmed by how many that actually was. This is kind of an awkward first new video to see since most of you probably subscribed for video game music, but hopefully this is still enjoyable. My main concern - for people who are familiar with this song - is that this might sound too weird with lead guitars instead of vocals? idk, I'm still really happy with this though.
I think next week we're doing an anime cover probably! See yall then

-Zelda Skyward Sword: Romance in the Air - Metal Cover | Christian RichardsonChristian Richardson2018-02-14 | I've been wanting to do this song for quite a while. Since I've been doing weeklies on Wednesday, I realized I'd be uploading a video on Valentine's day. I figured this song would be appropriate for the occasion! Especially since I have nothing else to look forward to today haha OKAY so I put this one together pretty quickly and I'm soooo happy with how it turned out. It's one of those rare occasions where I still loved listening to it even when recording the video, so I had a lot of fun with that. I did my usual insert-emotional-chord-progression technique to sweeten up the arrangement, and I think it worked pretty heckin gosh darn well in this!
Next week we're not doing a video game or anime song. Not even a song from a soundtrack at all! Doing something new. SEE YA THENNN

bigcoin@gmail.comCeleste: Quiet and Falling - Metal Cover | Christian RichardsonChristian Richardson2018-01-31 | I had heard of this game a few months back, but never again until I woke up to Dunkeyβs review of it last week. Decided to look up the soundtrack out of interest, and it was absolutely gorgeous. This song stood out to me the most, so I ended up starting up a cover of it. I didnβt exactly realize that this was literally the day the game and soundtrack came out, and so it seems Iβm the first person to make a cover from this game (aside from the entire remix album, obviously)! This song really intimidated me at first, since the original song is almost 8 minutes long. I eventually figured out the song structure. The song goes through a section twice, and then a small build up, and then that same section twice again but with a small chord change. Then the whole song repeats with some different layering. To the best of my ability, I tried to transcribe the song to guitars as exact as I could, while adding my own layers of drums, rhythm guitars, a solo, and some vocals. I ended up shortening the second half of the piece, mainly because I didnβt want my cover to be eight minutes. But I still tried to capture all the different, more echoey layers in the second half.
This game looks SOOO cool. I love platformers to death, and the way the player movement works in this looks like a lot of fun. Iβll definitely have to pick it up on Switch very very soon!
Iβm super proud of how this all turned out, even the video ended up looking pretty neat! Iβm trying to do weekly videos now, and finishing this in a week wasnβt exactly an easy feat. See you all soon!!

-Scott Pilgrim The Game: Leave the Past Behind - Metal Cover | Christian RichardsonChristian Richardson2018-01-24 | It's 2018! There's gonna be a lot of new things I'm gonna introduce to the channel this year, and I'm super excited. I thought a remake of a super old cover of mine would be a fun way to kick off the year. I covered this song over 2 years ago in my Scott Pilgrim medley that I made for the first Secret Musician Project. I wanted to cover this song long before I even started that medley, so it was so fun to FINALLY get around to making a full cover of this song. I experimented with some new stuff, as you can hopefully tell. I layered some guitar parts with synths, and I layered the strings with a dance pad for the second half of the song. Sounds pretty nifty if I do say so myself! I might end up tackling some other Scott Pilgrim tracks soon - whether it be more remakes from the medley or new covers - since the soundtrack is just way too good.

I wanted to do more than just one christmas cover this year, but unfortunately time didn't quite allow that. I was nearly finished with a different winter song, which I was going to upload along with this. Two days ago I realized I would NOT be able to do both on time, so I wanted to choose the actual christmassy song (this song) as the one I get done. Soooo, I made this whole video in one day :\
Other than me being literally dead from non-stop work on this cover, I'm really proud of it. I put a lot of work into the orchestration and percussion especially, and I hope you guys can appreciate that :)
I'm gonna be on a trip when this video goes up, so sorry if I'm super late with replying to comments.... I guess I don't really do that anyway. I should. Ok bye love you

Here's another playthrough for a song off Recede, it's been a while! This is probably the weirdest song in the album, I tried to capture a feeling of hopelessness and desolation which just kinda resulted in everything sounding dark and moody. I tried to make sort of a... cold looking video to go with it, and honestly I think this might be one of best looking videos I've ever uploaded! Hope you guys like this song :)

-Intervals: Impulsively Responsible - FULL GUITAR COVER | Christian RichardsonChristian Richardson2017-11-30 | more like repulsively impossible am I right
So this is a little bit of a new type of video for the channel! This is the first cover I've ever uploaded where I didn't produce the whole backing track myself, and instead I played along to the original song! Aaron Marshall is one of my biggest influences for guitar playing, and I just wanted to challenge myself to learn to play one of these songs front to back. Another note - and I feel like this should be reasonably obvious - this video wasn't recorded at the same time as audio. My process is always like that, however I feel the need to mention this now since the whole focus of this video is just on one guitar track.
Making a tone for this video was something I didn't even want to try to do, so my friend Ro acceptably re-amped my guitar DI through his Axe-FX, and it sounds really really great.
Thanks for watching this! I have no clue when I'll make another video like this, it's all dependant on when I find another song I want to learn and how well this video's reception goes.

I've been wanting to cover this one for a super long time, and I was gonna do it back in 2016 before I last minute changed it to a Hopes & Dreams cover. This cover turned out super good in my opinion, and it's been a damn long while since I've been so excited about uploading a cover. So I hope you like!!!!!! if you aren't familiar with the BEN Drowned story, this video probably won't make any sense and will be bad.
my apologies for that, I rushed this entire video together in two days so I honestly didn't put that much thought into it, I just kinda followed the most important parts of the story and did the music from it.
That said, I've been wanting to do this for a long time. My initial plan was to just do a cover of the backwards Song of Healing, but it ended up being way more as you can see. This is my fourth annual video game creepypasta/urban legend cover, and probably the last one too unless I can find more lol. Very special thanks to the ones who stuck around since the very first Lavender Town cover in 2014.
This creepypasta is actually pretty nostalgic for me. I remember listening to readings of it back in like 2009 and being scared as hell. so it was super fun revisiting the story for this medley.
Thank you for watching!!!!! I was gonna do something really big for November but I think I'm gonna delay it for now. Keeping up with youtube for the past month has been extremely hard while keeping up school, so I'll be going on a bit of a break for a while :)

This is for the latest instalment of the Secret Musician Project, which I can't quite call Secret Musician Project 3 unfortunately. Only about 3-5 people will be uploading videos today, instead of the originally planned 13 people. It breaks my heart to see a usually exciting project like this almost completely fall through, secret santas don't exactly work when more than half of the people drop out, but I hope next year we can pull it off like we used to.
For those who aren't familiar with what the Secret Musician Project is, here's our announcement video from last year: youtube.com/watch?v=5n4zYlD5kLc
Anyway, I AM really excited about this arrangement. This one has always been one of those "ooo I HAVE to do this if I get Reece for SMP" situations, and so it made me super happy to find out I had him. I really hope you like this man, I'm sure you're already familiar with the whole phenomenon of these two songs, and so I hope you like how I mashed em up

Dylan and I met almost 3 years ago when we both entered Ro Panuganti's Level-Up challenge. I uploaded a cover of Air Man, and Dylan uploaded a cover of Dr Wily's Stage. Since then, we entered the next contest with a Mega Man collab, and basically mega man music has always been a weirdly big part of out friendship. We thought it'd be cool to remake the two covers now, and I think it turned out super well! There's quite a few references to the old arrangement thrown into this new arrangement too
We've been working on these for 3 months now, collaborating on every second of the process. I think these two covers are the epitome of anything we've worked on before, along with our recent Overdone Cover songs medley. It's incredibly satisfying to finally upload these, and we really hope you guys like it.
It's been a long time since I've uploaded, I've been incredibly busy with school and these covers. BUT, I'm hoping to upload 3 more videos this month. Stick around :)

-Splatoon: Ink Me Up - Pop Punk Cover | Christian RichardsonChristian Richardson2017-09-11 | INK ME UP INSIDE
---
If any of you have noticed, I've been making weekly videos for 3 months now, and I'm putting an end to those now for a few reasons. One of which is I'm out of projects that are almost done, so completing any videos will take a while, especially with summer being over and school starting etc. The other reason is that I've noticed all of my video stats have been going down, views, comments, likes, EVERYTHING has gone down severely as I've done these weekly videos, and I think it's because I'm upload too often for people to watch. But at the same time it's puzzling because everyone says weekly videos is always a really beneficial thing to do for your channel??? idk man it's confusing
so I actually arranged this cover a few months back, and then basically forgot about it, and finally got it finished up now! I really like how it turned out. As soon as I first heard this song I knew I had to cover it, the whole splatoon OST is super punk and translates VERY well to guitar. I had a lot of fun putting this one together! I tried a couple new things like some weird phaser on my guitar and also using my voice and shouting lol
fun little story about filming this one: half of my coloured LED strips randomly stopped working, but whenever I tugged on the strips hard enough the whole thing would light back up. So right before recording the very first clip of this video, I gave it a tug and RIPPED THEM BY ACCIDENT so I only had HALF the amount of coloured light I usually do coming from those strips. Luckily, my friend David showed me a really cool thing where if you taped one of those coloured dividers over a clamp light, it'll make the bulb that colour. And it worked extremely well. For the pink shots it was harder though, since I didn't have a pink divider, I used a red one with a regular daylight bulb, as well as a blue light bulb underneath, along with the pink LED strips. And it worked pretty well somehow. A lot of the colour was brought out in post, but I do really like how this video looks (DESPITE THAT ONE CLIP THAT WAS OUT OF FOCUS UGHHH), and I hope I captured that colourful splatoon vibe nicely!
whooo boy that was a long description. Next video is a pretty big collab that I've been really excited about, stay tuned!

Tried some weird dark night time (?) sorta lighting for the second half of the video to match the idea/story of the song in my head. I think it turned out okay. I was looking through a bunch of pokemon soundtracks to find another song to do, and I did not expect to settle on this super obscure track from X/Y, but I'm really glad I did. This was one of those covers where I wasn't really feeling it while making it, and almost dropped it, but by the time I was finishing it up it really grew on me, and this is one of my favourite covers I've done in a while. Hopefully you guys like it!
also I have a classical guitar now! which means finally my acoustic parts can actually sound decent, yay! Hopefully I put it to good use in this one. I also tried finger bass for the entire cover for the first time in a super long time. I was just gonna use fingers for the beginning clean part but then I thought I'd just do it for the whole thing because why not
this is the last cover of the little series of pokemon covers I've been doing, but it won't be too long until you hear some more ;)

---Sonic 3 Carnival Night Zone - Rock Cover || Christian Richardson & GuitarGeek25Christian Richardson2017-07-15 | This is our entry to Ro Panuganti's Team-Up Challenge 2017!
In the last two weeks of the contest I was scrambling to find a partner to enter with. I was super happy to find out that I could work with Mikey again for the sake of the contest! We arranged pretty much all of this on multiple skype calls, and constantly just throwing ideas back and forth. I really loved how it turned out, super cool to see our styles blend so well!! EXPECT ANOTHER SONIC COLLAB ON HIS CHANNEL SOON
Choosing a song was pretty easy, I know Mikey loves sonic, so we went through some soundtracks, and at one point we both exclaimed "Carnival night zone!" at the same time, so we chose that. The Sonic 3 soundtrack is so good it almost isn't fair.
uhhhhhhhh I'm pretty sure that's it! big thanks to mikey for doing this with me :3 if you guys aren't subbed to him, do yourselves a favour and do that. Guy's super good at doin his thing. ALSO, good luck to everyone joining the contest! I have a feeling the amount entries will double on the last day lol
When I first listened through the Persona 5 OST, this was definitely the track that stood out the most to me, but I was scared to cover it because I couldn't find any way I could possibly turn it into something of my style. Buuuuut I eventually said screw it and stepped completely out of my comfort zone and tackled this song as a ballad rock thing! Hope you guys like it :D The original song has a piano solo, and since I don't have a working piano, I got David Russel to do this incredible solo for me, and it sounds really cool!
So I think next week I'm gonna upload the full album stream for my original album, and then my submission to the Team Up Challenge! Stick around! :P
