This vehicle was drawn up by the STT at the same time as the GSOR 1006 AAFRV or Airportable Armoured Fighting and Reconnaissance Vehicle development took place. A23 - Tank Design & Development Armoured Archives 2021-08-15 | A look at one of the most elusive of Britain’s WW2 tank projects, the A23 Heavy Cruiser. This Vehicle, which was an amalgamation of the A.22 Churchill Infantry tank and what would become the A.27 heavy Cruiser Cromwell, was proposed and considered in the early war years however its dependency on certain other vehicles to be deemed satisfactory ended its development and it’s not believed any further work was done.Disclaimer: Very little remains on this project, 2 pages of specifications and various footnotes in the minutes, therefore all drawings are done based on the known other vehicles and drawings based on merging those two. These drawings should not be taken as accurate or factual as no evidence remains to compare them and are done purely to help the viewer gain a picture of the possibilities.
