If the timing on the cam gets off again because of the worn bushing, I'll just simply pop these plastic pieces off of the unit. It will still engage in a crash, but it won't have the ratchet locking up issue ever again.

3D printed upper control arm test fit bluehandsvideo 2022-08-27 | I have a Sunlu S8(which I love) that can print 12"x12"x14". I bought it specifically because I wanted to print parts like these for prototyping and testing. It has easily saved me it's cost in time and $'s by not having to machine the parts out of aluminum just to test their fit. If you follow me on IG(same name), you might have seen the grey 3D printed cross shaft arm I was testing. I decided against using that arm, so I did not include it in this video.

King Pin Bushing Modification bluehandsvideo 2022-08-21 | The king pin rebuild kits for the old Datsun trucks are hard to find and expensive when they do show up. I found the KP122 kit on Alibaba. It was supposed to be exactly the same as the original kits. I ordered a couple of samples. The only thing that was different was the placement of the grease hole on the bushing. It didn't line up with the fitting placement on the spindles. I decided to order 50 of the kits and modify the hole so they would work. I've sold a few, but I haven't advertised them much. I sell them for less than half of what they go for on ebay. They don't have any rust and I include extra shims. Every king pin spindle I've rebuilt has always needed more shims than what comes in the factory kit. I also include a simple tool that makes removing and installing the bushings easy to do. The only "catch" is you need to find a shop/person that has a Sunnen hone to size the bushings to the kit. Some people ream them, but I'm not a fan of that method. I don't know why, but one of their recent "upgrades" took this feature away. I find that extremely annoying since I use that feature fairly often. EDIT!!! I just went and created a chamfer using a bull nose.....it appears that this option is back. Probably another "fix" in the latest update. The constant changes with fusion annoying for me. I do need to say that the Aug update...maybe July.....really improved the speed and stability!!! It's not all bad, but it is a love/hate relationship. LOL

15L - 311 Spindle Spacer bluehandsvideo 2021-07-16 | I've done these before, multiple times. This is basically to show them being done on the 15L Slant Pro lathe by Tormach. I've gotten some new tools in since recording this, so I'm probably going to do another video similar to this one. I now have a 3" chuck with a 5C collet mount that I can put directly into the spindle, in place of the 6" chuck. I'm hoping it will improve the accuracy and predictability. With the current method, 3" mounted in the 6", I have to try to use each one's run out to cancel each other's. I'm making about 80 more of these, so I doubt that I'll ever have to make them again. But....I thought that the first time I made a batch of 20 of these......which was probably close to 100 ago. lol

Volvo Caliper Cross Drilling bluehandsvideo 2021-06-14 | Disclaimer!! I'm not a professional at any of this. This is just to give you an idea about how it's done. You're responsible for your own life and anytime you modify a part of the braking system, you could put it at risk. The Volvo 240 four piston calipers have long been a common upgrade to a lot of different vehicles. They started with the non-vented rotor versions, then switched to the vented, then to the ABS version(which does not require this mod). This video may be a bit too late in the game since nearly all the versions of calipers are getting scarce. I primarily did this for those that buy my Altima brake upgrade for the Datsun 311 roadsters. I will "loan" the drilling jig to them. I'd consider making more of the jigs to sell outright, but I've never had enough interest from others to actually do it. If you have a mill or a good drill press with a vice that will hold the caliper, you can do this drilling without the jig. It can be done with a hand drill, but it's pretty challenging. It's a long winded video, but it covers everything from splitting the halves open, pulling the seals and pistons, drilling and then torqueing the halves back together.
