Use Hybrid Reverb to infinitely extend sounds! #shorts #ableton #sounddesign Robert K // Fixation Studios 2023-07-17 | Feed white noise into a convolution reverb with a sample for the impulse response to infinitely extend that sound. You can use this trick to create drones, washes of sound or sfx. Works great on everything... percussion, synths, vocals & more. If you set the Size to 50% or 200% then it will be one octave below or above, 75% or 150% will make it a perfect fifth! The noise input affects the final output so you can shape the sound in all sorts of ways. There's so much you can do with this trick and its easy af! Try it!

The timing of your Bass instruments is paramount. In this video I take a pretty cheesy vocal sample and turn it into something new using Warping and Audio Effects. Fixation Studios - Ableton Live Simpler - Granular Trickery Robert K // Fixation Studios 2019-07-25 | Here is a trick using the Ableton Live Simpler Instrument to manually/randomly change the playback of a sample resulting in something very similar to granular synthesis. Perfect for glitchy IDM bizzo.The trick sounds much better using an LFO due to it being a higher resolution than automation (more data points and smoother operation). The basic recipe for this sound (2 oscillator FM with moderate decay/release) can be varied to create a large range of stab type sounds (some of which are very popular in minimal techno).
