The narration references the "donkey-work" of animation, and then cutting to this silly visual pun. Why was this unlisted? If I have something I forgot about, it goes on Patreon. And it's been long enough to make public now I think. Apologies for the lack of any real substance in the past years; I really appreciate those that come to rewatch my old stuff. More stuff *not* coming soon, but certainly when it's ready!
EDIT, one minute later: Didn't realise YouTube overwrites the upload date with the publish date when it's made public. Around 27th March 2017 this was uploaded.Popeye BBQ For Two Reanimate Sc. 012Harvey Rothman2022-12-17 | My contribution to Dirk Erik Schulz's reanimate project, which is looking fabulous and should be coming out fairly soon! twitter.com/BBQfor2 #BBQfor2reanimated

Anybody know why Kdenlive is causing Linux Mint XFCE to log itself out sometimes when it crashes? Sometimes it crashes peacefully; sometimes it wants to drag the OS down with it.Harvey Rothman - Jolly Good Show!Harvey Rothman2021-09-13 | Get it on Bandcamp!: shufflehound.bandcamp.com/track/jolly-good-show
It's *technically* still summer, so we can do with a summery tune!
This started out a year ago, just playing about with 90's synth sounds. How do you like the visualiser? It was a nightmare to render, but I theorise that folks stick around to listen if there's something moving on the screen.
P.S. I'm writing a few cartoons in parallel, so maybe you'll see one finished next year or the year after that. I'm a busy fellow, sorry!

Software demonstrated: Clip Studio Paint EX, Flash, and a bit of Paint Tool SAI.
XP-PEN are doing a discount thing on top of the 5%, marking their 15th anniversary if you're curious: US: bit.ly/3hQxVrR (5% off code: XLYTB24A, valid until the 14th) UK: bit.ly/3fjpEu9 AU: bit.ly/3gooyi1 SEA: bit.ly/39OKL6J EU: bit.ly/39PJiNn (I'm not paid for giving these links or the code, but there you are.)
P.S. This is shorter than the other ones, after a few friends said the longer length zones them out. So let me know if this is better, or if I've over done the trimming!
P.P.S. There's a couple big cartoon ideas I'm beginning to flesh out, but hopefully I'll have a little short made before the end of the year. For now, I'm being evicted yadda yadda so apologies for being quiet.

P.S. I loathe how YouTube's compression handles film grain effects. I also experiment with Krita and Clip Studio Paint a bit.
Music by Harvey Rothman Additional vocals by Kate Rothman Vocoder by Jake RothmanStylophone S1 Through EffectsHarvey Rothman2018-03-26 | Let's put the little Stylophone through a bunch of effects to see what sounds we can get!
VSTs used: Kjaerhus Audio Classic Series, Dead Duck Software Effects Bundle, Xfer OTT, Reaper ReaPlugs, Interruptor.ch Wow & Flutter, Robin Schmidt's Pitch Shifter, Thomas Mundt's LoudMax, and Ichiro Toda's Synth1 VST
Hardware used: Colorsound Wah-Wah and Fuzz Box, Alesis XT:c Digital Reverb, BOSS RPS-10 Pitch Shifter/Delay, Jake Rothman's XCITE, MixFix and Phaser, Mosses and Mitchell patchbay, and of course the Stylophone S1 and Gen X-1.
Recorded with a M-AUDIO Delta 1010LT and with a Behringer MX2004A into Reaper DAW.
P.S. YouTube's video compression completely wrecks any subtleties, such as pencil textures and grain (devastating!) and I can't add end cards to the barren looking credits just because of the Cinemascope format. Can't even mention this in an annotation because that features been brought to an end. Come on, YouTube, don't be daft now.XP-PEN Artist16: A Big, Bumper ReviewHarvey Rothman2017-10-20 | See how this inexpensive graphics tablet display fares with the tasks of animation, digital painting, sketching and colour grading! Here I detail my experiences with XP-PEN's Artist16 on a PC and Mac, with each part and program's individual quirks described.
Some notes: 16:55 Whoops! I meant to say "1440", not "440". 2:13 is a Photoshop. Neither pen went flat so I could film the red LED, so a hue modification had to do. Big thanks to XP-PEN for sending me this review sample: http://www.xp-pen.com/goods/show/id/187.html
Now I'm going to ramble a lot: It's rather ironic that I wanted this to be my best cartoon to date, so it would get more attention than other FNAF parodies. But, I ended up getting so absorbed into the learning curve and spending so long on it, that the majority of the FNAF fandom had been and gone. I eventually deviated from the storyboard entirely and made most of the animation up as I went along, enjoying the spontaneity and experimentation, adding scenes just to explore atmosphere and animation. While that added an extra year to the making and probably lost a fair bit of FNAF fan views as a consequence, I can say I've learnt more about animation, drawing, sound design and backgrounds in this project than any other. One contribution to that has to be the absence of model sheets and anything to restrict developing the way I draw and animate; the whole cartoon could've just looked as crude as the first scenes I animated (you can probably tell which those are). A lot of dialogue was also improvised which added to the experimentation and fun; working with amateur voice actors without scripts is fun 'cause usually it sounds closer to a typical conversation than with a script. Another lesson learnt from this is the dangers of putting art before marketability. This IS a parody of Five Nights At Freddy's after all, and yet here it is 2 years later than it should've been released for the views. But by the time I uploaded the trailer, I knew it was too late to complete the animation in time for that, so I took a massive diversion away from empathy for the game's lore and hasty production, and towards simply making a fun cartoon and putting my all into it. I'm still glad I made this though because I have learnt so much making this, and I look forward to making more cartoons. Although in future, I don't fancy making cartoons quite so layered and complicated just for YouTube, after learning the hard-way how long these things take to make. I haven't proof read any of what I just said then 'cause that was all just a mental gush and hopefully my excitement for the completion of this cartoon shows through!
(I wanted an excuse to upload it and it's not even April 1st any more.)
In case you were wondering, I made this around 2008 or something like that (I copied it across computers so I can't find the exact date). And yes Foxy Gets Hooked is nearly done, half-way through the sound design stage, which is like the final stage besides a bit of fixing up bits.Sans & Papyrus Go for a Wander (Nyeh Heh Heh!/Bonetrousle Cover)Harvey Rothman2015-12-03 | Download: shufflehound.bandcamp.com/track/bonus-papyrus-and-sans-go-for-a-wander-bonetrousle-cover
Our two comedic, skeletal vertebrates wonder about the endlessly looping Snowdin in a Fleischeresque fashion to a jazzy variation of the delightful sounds of Nyeh Heh Heh! Feast your ears!
Did this little loop both for "solid drawing" practice since they're simple rounded shapes and also for a break from Foxy Gets Hooked since that's been driving me a little potty.
Bit of education for those interested: the music is at 120 beats per minute, meaning that, at 24 frames per second, it will be 12 frames per beat, so that way I know how long the walk stride should last without going out of sync. That's how they did it in the good old days like the old Betty Boops and Looney Tuneses. The general formula is: beats per minute = (frames per second ÷ frames per beat) x 60
Sans and Papyrus are part of the Undertale game made by Toby Fox, although doesn't everybody know that by now?
Samples from: Banjoreno - Dixieland Jug Blowers and Mellotron accompaniment instruments.
The premise: Foxy is forced into greeting Mike, but then gets in a predicament. How should this event make him a pirate? Let's fine out. (Actually you should already know by now)

The animation is quite 'tweeny' in this one for two reasons: I had two days to make this before Christmas and I needed to learn how the 'pegs' worked in Toon Boom (and see how much tweening I can get away with).
