The games featured in this episode are my personal top 15 ZX Spectrum games released in 1985, ranked from 15th to 1st. Thus, this list represents not a 'general top games' list, but my own personal favorites, meaning these are games I played and enjoyed as a kid (back in the 80s) and/or continue to play today. This approach differs from the 'Top 50 games' lists, where I feature games that I believe are 'generally' the best for a particular year/computer, and those lists are also not ranked.
And what a year it was for ZX Spectrum games! 1985 and 1986 are probably (at least for me) the best years for Speccy gaming.

You are probably surprised about the game I picked for nr. 1 on this list, but I didn't have any choice here. Full Throttle is a game that I played countless hours as a kid and is a game that actually started my passion for game programming and my future career. Frustrating, yes, but also fun game that keeps you "on the edge of your seat" for the duration of the race.

Games using the VGA graphics and Soundblaster/Adlib for music/soundfx were now common and that made the PC games really high quality and comparable to the likes of Amiga. And there were a lot of good MS-DOS games released in 1990 (that's why the list is, again, so long in this episode). We continue our journey in 1983. Games were still pretty simple and most of them were still either text based, monochrome or used (in best case) 4 color in CGA mode.
But it was still obvious that the quality of the games reached another level (compared to games from 1982) - with games like Digger, Battlezone, Ultima II, Frogger and Donkey Kong.

We are now far into the years that 8-bit computers were seen as "obsolete". I wasn't expecting much here, to be honest, but am again surprised to find many great games released in 1992 for the, now "totally obsolete", Commodore 64.
Elvira 2, Rampart, First samurai, Chuck Rock, and Slicks are just a few of the great titles released in 1992 for the C64.
NOTE: I also had Crazy Cars 3 and Creatures 2 on the list, but could not make them to work properly and so, couldn't include them in the end.
NOTE 2: It was pointed to me by the viewer "Commodore-64 longplays" that some of the games (like Alien3, Rampart...) were actually released for C64 in 1993 and not 1992 - with the 1992 being their original release on the consoles/Amiga/etc...

We start in 1982 when games were still pretty simple. Most of them were either text based, monochrome or used (in best case) 4 color in CGA mode. But there are a couple of games still worth playing here - like a very neat Pacman clone named PC-Man, BurgerTime, Adventure of Serenia (created by Roberta and Ken Williams of Sierra On-Line fame) and, of course, we can't forget the Wizardry 2 by Sir-Tech.

Games are, as always, presented in no particular order.
