Part 1: Lenses georgiahoosier 2014-08-04 | I've been a little under the weather so you'll hear some voice cracking, but what I wanted to start here is a series of informational videos about the Panasonic GH4 that gives tips and ideas in a short format.This time I'm recommending a couple of inexpensive FD lenses that adapt well to the GH4 and will work in most situations.The smaller lens is a 28mm f2.8 that can be found on Ebay for under $50. This one is a Tokina but you can find nice ones by Canon as well.The second lens is the standard Canon 50mm f1.8 that can be found on Ebay for anywhere from $20 on up.An adapter that goes from FD to Micro 4/3s can be found on Ebay from $7 to $10.

I didn't notice until I saw that the user "FrugalFilmMaker" had posted something similar only today. That got me looking for this video to send as a response and that's when I discovered the change. Anyway, the idea posted by Frugal is great, but if you're a cheapskate like me, an old clipboard is even better. A slate is a handy thing to have when shooting and recording on more than one source, particularly when synching up the audio. Here's how to make one without spending any money and really, isn't that the best way to do anything?

Hurricane Irene Update from Statesboro GA georgiahoosier 2011-08-26 | Yesterday I showed some wispy clouds that were coming across our area here in coastal Georgia as Hurricane Irene came into range. Today the storm is almost dead level to the east of us and a very well defined edge of clouds passed over this region. Wish it were more exciting than that but there we are. On a side note, I shot this with a Canon 550D (T2i) using Magic Lantern firmware and the new Technicolor "Cinestyle" picture style. No color correction at all, and it doesn't look half bad

FD Lenses for Canon EOS Cameras Part 3: A Long Shot georgiahoosier 2011-06-23 | Here's a short test of a long telephoto lens (Canon 100-200mm) with an additional Vivitar teleconverter on the end effectively doubling the field of view of the lens. Considering all the squawk about loss of image quality, it really isn't that bad. No, it's not the same as an equivalent EF lens, but for the difference in price it can give you a lot of room to experiment. Also a bit of discussion about the old reliable Soviet era prime lenses.
FD Lenses for Canon EOS Cameras Part 2: A Bright Spot Isnt a Good Thing georgiahoosier 2011-06-22 | Continuing the discussion about using FD lenses on Canon EOS cameras and I have a little demonstration showing a weakness in using the lens. Not that I would dismiss the lens because of it, I'd just pick something else for bright sunlight before I potentially loused up a day's shooting.
