EDIT: unfortunately it is unlikely that ExpressLRS can ever be compliant, as it is too easy to tamper with and will not meet the requirements. I'm not sure I'll continue to pursue this but it does mean that the same hardware can make a compliant system if it was sealed with the GPS.

Would this me more interesting or fun to watch if I had provided commentary over it? Let me know if that's something I should do for future ExpressLRS test flights.

The ergonomics are so much better and the picture is so clear and bright, but that's not really worth much if you can't see where you're flying. I decided to do a quick comparison of the reception and swap the antennas between two flights to see how they hold up against each other.
The Eachine with 2x cheap omni antennas was at least as good as the Skyzones with more expensive antennas. Swap the two so the Eachine has the good antennas and it blows the Skyzones out of the water. Care was taken so that the sideways omni was pointed so its null was 90 degrees to the area of worst reception and the patch was pointed directly at the area of worst reception.
The DVR footage was only scaled for size, the color is very different between them. The Skyzone footage with the two ominis was stretched 1% to make up for lost frames (it also lost 3 frames when it had the good antennas)
Antennas (all RHCP): TrueRC Singularity - this thing kicks butt, and the tiny version on the quad is even better MenaceRC PicoPatch - also really good with a pretty wide FOV Foxeer Lollipop V3 - Not a bad omni and a good bargain but inconsistent performance from antenna to antenna Eachine Cloverleaf - This one came with the Eachine EV800D

There are 80 arranged 8 high and 10 wide and you can count them too. The camera is set up way off axis so you can see the backlight blooming in the diffuser. As I move the block around the screen note the larger fuzzy area that lights up, as the block crosses to a different zone you'll see two zones light up at once then the other zone turn off as the block leaves. When the block gets to the top of the screen you'll see it get pretty dim, this is because the zone dims as most the block has left the screen.
