Cyclone Temple - I Hate Therefore I Am (FULL ALBUM 1991)
updated
Done on a real Playstation 1 with original disc and hardware. No cheats or external cheating devices have been used in this recording.
Still a good chunk of improvement needed for a perfect run, but a decent playthrough regardless.
Recorded in TATE (9:16)
No cheats, glitches or emulation. Original PS1 hardware, original disc. Contains capture card footage + high quality CRT capture and controller cam.
This playthrough has a specific route I've developed over time to maximize efficiency and time spent in game. This deathless run took about 40 hours to achieve.
This video is from a livestream, so english/french voice and commentary is present in gameplay.
I forgot to record a separate audio track for game audio only as I typically do, sorry.
I'm surprised nobody ever uploaded a real hardware recording of this intro. Every upload either has visual/audio issues, or isn't recorded off original hardware/the original version (Or it's the AI upscaled one that completely kills off the original artstyle by putting everything in a mush of texture filtering).
FPGA uploads are there, but some people, myself included, do prefer original unmodified hardware, and this is who I'm aiming to please with this upload.
Not my best time, but my first clear of the game.
HYPER DEMON is the indirect sequel to Devil Daggers, a game I was particularly addicted to in 2016. I was initially one of the first 50 persons to reach 500 seconds in Devil Daggers, and no doubt I am among the first persons to reach HYPER DEMON's ending as well.
An extremely rich FPS experience that's not only exceedingly hard but very short as well. You can purchase the game here : store.steampowered.com/app/1743850/HYPER_DEMON
Previous world record was held by Shentok, at a time of 22:44.
Played on original hardware, SBom Joycard controller (Bomberman Japanese controller), autofire on because I don't want tendinitis.
This record should stand for a while and I don't think I will challenge a lower time until someone tries to do better. I will concentrate on optimizing hard difficulty, as well as Taromaru.
Sub 25 very possible.
Played on original hardware with SBom Joycard, Turbo on.
Je réponds également à des questions qu'on m'a posé pas mal dans les derniers mois concernant mes cassettes avec du stock de Teletoon, ainsi que des questions fréquentes sur les Boondocks en Quebecois.
Played on real hardware, original controller. No autofire. 1280x720x60p

One of my biggest achievements by far, I've been working on this one for several weeks, and I am very happy with this clear!
Second loop I've barely even played, and I doubt I'll ever be able to 1CC second loop. I'm satisfied with 1-loop! I survived until mid 2-2.
Played on XM6, Sharp 68000 emulator, with a Playstation controller. Autofire ON.
Cet enregistrement contient l'épisode complet, sans coupures et sans problème audio ou vidéo majeur.
Valna is a PC-88 video game released in Japan in 1989. An unknown gem of a soundtrack. I don't know anything about the game due to it's absolute obscurity outside of Japan. Direct VGZ conversion from vgmrips, ripped by Gnome.

Recorded on a real SNES with original peripherals via a GV-USB2 @ 1280x720, 59.97FPS, unmodified aspect ratio.
This play-through is far from perfect, I've died a couple times, notably on the last boss, and the gameplay skill is overall only above average. Still, I'm proud to have done this game without having a game over, and I'll be looking forward to doing the same thing on hard difficulty in the future.
Recorded on a real Super Nintendo with original peripherals.
Recorded via a GV-USB2 @ 1280x720 (Game screen unstretched to preserve 4:3 aspect ratio)

This score is better than the number 1 score available on TwinGalaxies, but I refuse to believe it's world record. (As of 2023, this is no longer the case, as this score was dethroned by ~30,000.)
This is the fourth time I've ever completed M.U.S.H.A., and by far my best run of it if we omit the poor performance at the end of the last stage.
Stage 1 through 5 deathless, lost one life on Stage 6, then lost more on the final boss.
Recorded off a real Sega Genesis model 1 with a YM2612, stereo sound output, using an original 6-button controller.
Played on a Sony Trinitron KV-24FV12 and recorded with a GV-USB2 capture card @ 960x720 60FPS.
No cheats or third-party cheating devices were used in the recording of this video.
Sound is glitching out sometimes, don't know what's up with that.
Recorded with a GV-USB2 at 1280x720 60FPS.
Played on an original Super Nintendo with an original controller. No cheats or external cheating devices used.
This is my first expert "speedrun" ever. I've played heaps of expert in this game, but I've never did an actual speedrun with speedtech and everything on the SNES version, so here it is! I've been meaning to do this for a while, and whilst this time isn't fantastic since it's my first run, 35 minutes is a pretty solid base.
Recorded with a GV-USB2 at 1280x720 60FPS.
Played on an original Super Nintendo with an original controller. No cheats or external cheating devices used.
I'll most definitely improve this as I've been struggling very hard by the levels at the end, but it's not too much of a bad score for me.
According to TwinGalaxies, by combining every score from every platform Tempest 2000 is on, this is the second best score ever recorded, and the best score on Saturn.
The best ever recorded score is 944,655 points on the Atari Jaguar version.
I have no doubt in my mind that there were better scores out there in the world, given that I don't think I'm *that* good at the game, and whilst close to 1 million point is pretty damn good, I feel like more than that is definitely not the hardest feat to perform by hardened Tempest players that have been playing for decades.
Played on an original Sega Saturn system with an original Japanese controller. No cheats or third-party cheating devices were used.
Recorded with a GV-USB2 at 640x480 60FPS, and upscaled via VirtualDub to 960x720 (150%) for 60FPS support on YouTube.
As per YouTube's tradition, the quality on here is terrible compared to the source file.
Switch kick was disgusting, Mad Jack was pathetic, and I missed Chunky's first punch. In other words ; It's bad, but I should be able to improve it without much hassle.
Recorded with a GV-USB2, played on a real N64 with an original controller, timed in RTA.
Every single trick used (Advanced movement tricks, freeing Tiny by spelling OKONG, etc) in this video is not considered a glitch and is legal according to the official glitchless ruleset.
Runner's notes ; I had a softlock in Japes 2 that cost me at least two minutes, and I'm still mad about it. Had to reset and run all the way back to where I was. Otherwise, this run has more good moments than bad ones. It's not a fantastic run, but it's not a terrible one either. It can definitely be improved upon by I'm sure at least ten to fifteen minutes.
This run was played and recorded all in a single segment on a real Nintendo 64 console using a first-party controller and was timed in RTA.
No commentary, game audio only. The audio seems to delay after a while, I have no idea what caused this, but this is on YouTube's end as my local recording does not have this problem. Nevertheless, I'll make sure none of my future videos has this issue. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
This run sucks, it's just a base of where I start and how much I will improve from there.
This run includes loading times because the load remover won't work with my OS and I didn't bother removing the loading times manually for such a slow, flawed, beginner's run.
After I saw Volvulus's new WR run, I just got the craving to push this time down even further.

Recorded through GV-USB2 in S-Video @ 800x600
Original retail version patched to 225f (not Unreal Gold)

This is only a video quality test with the capture card I use and does not represent the actual visual quality that the game or computer can produce. The quality is also butchered by YouTube since it will only output 480p video, whilst the native resolution of the recording is 800x600.
