From the bustling Main Street to the huge University of Alabama Campus, this city impressed us. Everywhere was so well cared for and maintained.The University campus absolutely blew our minds (as you’ll see in the video). We started our walk with by seeing the incredible Bryant Denny Stadium up close and personal, which is home to Alabama Crimson Tide football team. The stadium was an absolute spectacle to behold. We certainly do NOT see anything like this at home!Then we went for a stroll around the rest of the campus where we were shocked at just how beautiful the greek style architecture was on every single building! The grounds and green areas such as at The Quad were immaculate. We were absolutely blown away by the natural beauty in this area! We found ourselves constantly stopping to get out of the car every 5 minutes just to take it all in. This Irish Village is Straight Out of a Fairy Tale ☘️ Life with Scott & Amy Jane 2026-09-09 | Welcome to Village life in Northern Ireland! ☘️Today we explored Amy’s hometown of Rostrevor in County Down, Northern IrelandWe started our day off the right way, with a traditional Irish Breakfast in the cosy Rostrevor Inn (well, at least one of us did 😂)After this it was time to go explore. We checked out the village square area, some of the local houses and the beautiful fairy glen river walk area, before heading for the hills in Kilbroney forest park.The forest park is famously known as the area of Ireland that inspired C.S. Lewis to write his Chronicles of Narnia book series. We hiked to the top of Cloughmore to see the legendary Cloughmore stone (or ‘big stone’). We Climbed Northern Irelands Highest Mountain! ☘️ Life with Scott & Amy Jane 2026-09-02 | 📍 Newcastle, Northern IrelandCome join us as we hike up to Northern Ireland’s tallest mountain, the delightful Slieve Donard! ⛰️Welcome to our first proper vlog at home ☘️ As we live so near to this beautiful mountain range, the Mourne Mountains, it is hard to resist a hike and a sea swim on a lovely June day! ☀️Anyone who lives in Northern Ireland, will know that the lovely little town of Newcastle, County Down, is one of the most popular spots to go to on a summer’s day! Newcastle is a little seaside town just an hour from Belfast and 2 hours from Dublin! We of course, had to start off by getting our coffee fix. We went to our favourite little local café in Newcastle called Kin & Folk and secured ourselves two very tasty signature Honeybear lattes. If you ever find yourself in this little cafe, we definitely recommend trying this one, especially if you’ve got a sweet tooth like us 🍯☕️After securing our coffees, we headed to an outdoors/hiking/coastal clothes shop called Saltrock, because, you really can never trust the weather in Ireland, and we came dressed for the sunny weather that we were used to in the southern states of the USA. So we headed here to pick up an extra layer or two in case we got a bit chilly hiking! 🥾 We then parked our car in the Donard car park and started our hike up Slieve Donard, which stands at 850 metres (2,789 feet) high. On the way up the mountain, we were treated to the beautiful sights and sounds of the river, nature and we even got a surprise! We came across the herd of wild ponies of the Mourne Mountains and were able to get nice and close to them 🐴We got so lucky when we finally got up to the peak of N.I.’s tallest mountain as we had the place to ourselves and the sun came out! We then got carried away on our way back down to the saddle 😅🏃What better way tor recover from a hike than to take the hiking boots and socks off and ground in the grass and then head for a sea swim in the harbour?! 🏊♀️We would honestly count this as one of the most perfect ways to spend a day at home when we’ve got really good weather! 24 Hours Exploring Nashville, TN 🇺🇸 Life with Scott & Amy Jane 2026-08-26 | 📍Nashville, TennesseeHere we are, back in the Music City, Nashville Tennessee! We started our last full day in the USA exploring the 12 South Area of Nashville. First stop was a food joint called The Buttermilk Ranch. Of course, when in the south, we had to get waffles and peaches, and our caffeine fix to keep us going! We really rated this little spot for food and would definitely recommend it! ☕️We then explored the surrounding streets and neighbourhoods of 12 South, and finished our time there browsing a vintage store where Scott picked up a Crimson Tide 90s starter jacket (ROLL TIDE!!) We then headed to East Nashville and had a little stroll around in the southern sun and quenced our thirst with happy hour drinks at The Dog Haus 🍹After getting ourselves ready for our last night in Nashville, we headed towards the famous Broadway street to have the night of our lives 🎶We stopped at Robert’s Western World first so we could try the famous Recession Special which consisted of a fried Bologna sandwich, chips, an ice cold PBR and a Moonpie! Scott was pleased while me, fussy AJ, had chicken tenders instead 😅 We listened to the amazingly talented Kelley’s Heroes while we ate. A brilliant start to an amazing night! We then did had a browse in Boot Barn and did a little pub crawl around Broadway, going to Dierk’s Bentley’s Whiskey Row where Glizzy Band were playing, then on to Nudie’s Honky Tonk where Rockin’ Horse put on a good show, then to Jon Bon Jovi’s bar where Love Drive played and we had a go on a mechanical bull 🐂 and lastly, we ended the night in Wallen’s This Bar where Angie Rey played! We really had no words to describe the insane talent that was displayed everywhere on Broadway Street.. we had the best night ever! The next morning we drove to Berry Hill for our last breakfast in a place called The Nashville Jam Co., and what a meal to go out on! 🥧We are gutted to say that this is the last video of our time spent roadtripping around a very small fraction of the South in May/June of this year. Having got to see Tennessee, Alabama, Louisiana and a little bit of Mississippi, we have fallen in love with the south and are already looking forward to our return to explore some familiar and new areas in October 🤩So stay tuned! We Fell in Love with East Tennessee (Smoky Mountains) 🇺🇸 Life with Scott & Amy Jane 2026-08-12 | 📍Gatlinburg/Smoky Mountains/Townsend, East TennesseeIrish Couple's first time in The Great Smoky Mountains!We arrived in Gatlinburg, Tennessee on June 8th, after driving through the famous Pigeon Forge, and it was as if we had taken all the rain from Ireland and opened the heavens here in Tennessee. ☔️ So after a quiet evening enjoying some BBQ and catching up on some well needed sleep, we woke up to a much nicer and drier Gatlinburg.We started our day by walking to one of Gatlinburg's many pancake joints. We went to one called Log Cabin Pancake House, located on the Historic Nature Trail, which was actually voted #1 Pancake in Sevier County in the 2025 Mountain Press Readers' Choice Awards, and we can understand why! 🥞 So we filled our bellies with some yummy coffee, chocolate chip pancakes and pecan pancakes, and LOTS of Maple Syrup... name a better way to start our day!We hit the road and headed out for the day to explore the Smokies, with our first stop being the Great Smoky Mountains National Park sign, located on the Newfound Gap Road, to get some obligatory tourist photos 📸We started the beautiful scenic drive towards our hike spot for the day, which happened to be located on the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail. The breathtaking viewpoint that we stopped to get out at was called the Baskins Creek Overlook! ⛰️We hiked a total of 6.2km on the Trillium Gap Trail to Grotto Falls, which happens to be the only waterfall in the National Park that you can walk behind! 💧After enjoying some trail snacks and the rest of the drive, we made our way out of the National Park and explored more of what East Tennessee had to offer.We drove through the most beautiful area called Wears Valley and stopped to frolic!We then came to a town called Townsend and stopped for some tasty Italian food at Peaceful Side Social Brewery and Craft Kitchen, and then finished our time there with a peaceful evening stroll along the river before hitting the road again! 🚗Thanks so much for watching as per usual, we really appreciate all the support and love we have received so far! We Lived on an American Ranch for 48 Hours 🇺🇸 Life with Scott & Amy Jane 2026-08-05 | 📍Carbon Hill, Alabama, USA Our American dream came true… we experienced life on a ranch! After a morning exploring the wonderful city that is home to the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, we took a short drive out to Carbon Hill to Tack Tavern Ranch where we stayed for the next two nights, and what a couple nights it was! 😅We were greeted by the lovely Denny, and their ten dogs, yes, I said TEN. DOGS. The dream 🐶We got settled in our cosy abode for the night and took a short walk over to the saloon for a lovely evening of making friends out of strangers, eating home-grown food, a bit of horse-back riding (just for Amy Jane!), terrible Irish dancing and having the craic! 🕺🥗🐴After a restful sleep, we were woken up by the sounds of ranch life in the southern countryside and hit the road for a quick drive into the small town of Carbon Hill for a bite to eat. We found a hidden gem of a diner called Mava’s kitchen, where we got enough to feed a family of 5 and our caffeine hit, and we even got chatting to some friendly local ladies! ☕️🥞After filling our bellies with some feel-good southern comort food, we headed back to the ranch for the day! We had only planned to stay the one night, but we loved it so much that we could not bear to leave and decided to stay an extra night! ⛺️We had another day filled with playing games, shooting guns, riding horses, learning how to rope and enjoying good company with new people 🎶 We loved our time on this ranch in the Alabama countryside so much and made new friends for life and we left the next morning with our hearts full ❤️It is safe to say we found a true slice of heaven in Alabama. Irish Couple Find Mississippis Friendliest Small Town 🇺🇸 Life with Scott & Amy Jane 2026-07-22 | 📍 Lumberton, Mississippi, USA 🇺🇸The true Hospitality State?We started our morning in New Orleans and hit the road for a long day of driving towards Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Leaving Louisiana, we got to drive over the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway, which we learned to be one of the longest continuous bridges over water in the world, being about 24 miles long! How interesting! 🌉As we made our way into Mississippi, we decided we both needed a caffeine fix so we pulled off the I-59 into the closest smalltown called Lumberton and went to the town's local family-run cafe, Lumberton Cafe and Coffee House. ☕️We got a coffee and a dirty soda (after loving them the day before in Biloxi I just had to get another!) to lift our spirits, sugar and caffeine levels! Despite the cafe looking a little small from the outside, the menu they had was anything but! We were very impressed and easily could have ordered many items from it. A true hidden gem! 😅After our server tempted us, we decided to try some sweet southern comfort food and went for a treat that we had never heard of before, the Ooey Gooey Butter Cake, and oh my... we have no words 🍰🤤As well as a great menu and tasty drinks and treats, we were blown away by how kind and lovely our servers were. This is New Orleans After Dark... 🇺🇸☘️ Life with Scott & Amy Jane 2026-07-15 | 📍Biloxi, Mississippi, and New Orleans, LouisianaAfter spending the night in what we have learned to be as one of Alabama’s most haunted hotels (see our last video to see how we felt about it!), our first mission of the day was….go on, have a guess……. Yes! You guessed it right, COFFEE ☕️We had a wee search on maps for coffee near us, and found a quirky, vibey little modern café called Knucklebones Elixir Co., and started our walk for the sweetest start to our day before leaving Alabama 🚗We hit the road and waited until we crossed the state line into Mississippi before we decided to fill our bellies for the morning. As we prefer the small, local diners over the well-known fast-food chain restaurants, we found The Country Café in Biloxi and thought it looked and sounded right up our street, so off we went! We had some yummy southern comfort food served with a side of that feel-good southern hospitality. A warm welcome to Mississippi 🥰The sweet tooth wasn’t long kicking in, so we came across Dirty Dough in Biloxi and thought we would chance that! We didnt realise that we would be leaving Mississippi with a box of half-eaten cookies, a belly full of dirty sodas, and a new friend called Misty Dawn, who showed us the true meaning of Southern Hospitality. A beautiful name for a beautiful lady ❤️Mississippi doesn’t hold the nickname of the ‘Hospitality State’ for no reason, clearly 🤷🏼♀️Off we went, and crossed another new state line into Louisiana, to our final destination for the day, to The Big Easy, AKA, New Orleans 🌇We drank some drinks and ate some tasty Cajun food from Café Beignet whilst listening to some live Jazz music by ‘Steamboat Willie’ in The Musical Legends Park on Bourbon Street 🎶To finish the night, we headed to the Tropical Isle Bar, to listen to some more live music and to try a drink that we were warned about… the famous Hand Grenade, and, well, we’ll end it here 😅Stay tuned for our next video, we couldn’t stay away from Alabama for too long! Irish Couple Discover Americas Gulf Coast 🇺🇸 Life with Scott & Amy Jane 2026-07-08 | 📍Gulf Coast, Alabama 🇺🇸After having done a lot of long days travelling in the previous few days of our trip, today we wanted to slow down the pace and relax. What better place to do that than right here on Alabama's Gulf Coast!We started our day in a peaceful little neighbourhood in Gulf Shores, got some work done and then hung out on the white sandy beaches of Orange Beach! We really enjoyed our time chilling in the sun and occasionally going for a refreshing dip in the gulf waters. The waves were a lot of fun! 😂After that we shared a light lunch at a local BBQ spot in Orange Beach, before moving on to our final destination for the day - Mobile, Alabama.Our first impressions of Mobile were great! It has a very peaceful and walkable downtown area with beautiful Cypress trees lining most of the streets. The Spanish style architecture that was deigned with the City's past in mind, gave Mobile a really cool vibe. We didn't expect to find such beauty right in the heart of a City like we did here in Mobile! 🌳We ended the day eating at a quirky little place located in Downtown Mobile called The Haberdasher, before calling it a night. We hope you don't mind this video being a little more slow paced than our usual adventures. We all gotta take it easy sometimes, but we promise that we pick up the pace again in our next video where we travel through Mississippi, eat some great southern food with equally great hospitality, before arriving in New Orleans, Louisiana for a real fun night! 🍻☘️After that we still have plenty more to come! Hospitality.The lovely, kind souls who work in Liberty Diner and Restaurant taught us the definition of southern hospitality this day.We started our rainy Sunday morning, in the small town of Guntersville, home of Lake Guntersville, Alabama’s largest lake. The first thing on our list was to find a good coffee spot, and luckily enough, Scooter’s coffee was right beside us. Is there really any better way to start the day than with two sugar-filled strong coffees? I don’t think so ☕️After getting our caffeine and sugar levels up, we hit the road and started our short, 2-hour drive towards Chattanooga, Tennessee.About 40 minutes into the drive, we came into the area of Scottsboro and decided it would be a good time to look up some places to get breakfast. 🍳When looking up places to eat nearby, Liberty Restaurant and Diner came up as the first one, so we agreed on that spot and went. Irish Couple Discover Small Town USA 🇺🇸 Life with Scott & Amy Jane 2026-06-25 | Today we discover Small Town America!.. Specifically, Clanton Alabama! Clanton was just a little town that we knew nothing about, but decided to stop at, as a pitstop on our road trip from Birmingham, AL to Gulf Shores/Orange Beach, AL.We didn't know what to expect, but we noticed that there were a couple farm shops in town - Peach Park and Durban Farms Market (We LOVE Farm shops), so it'd have been rude of us not to stop at both and check them out.When we arrived at Peach Park, we were immediately impressed by the chilled out family oriented vibe! What followed was some incredibly delicious BBQ food, ice cream and deep fried pecan pie... a Southern delight 🤤We chilled out on some rocking chairs, ate our food, listened to some great live country music and sang along (badly) 🤣 but we were having a great time, and felt right at home with the locals in a small town we had never even heard of before!After food we went for a little stroll around the small outdoor trail area on the grounds of Peach Park and browsed the farm shop section, before heading on to our next stop at Durban Farms Market.Durban was great and we were impressed by the quantity of home grown produce and local foods on offer. Proof that you CAN eat good quality foods in America if you want to, contrary to what the media would have you believe. There is plenty on offer if you're looking for it! We tried some locally grown Alabama Peaches (surprisingly the first time either of us had tried a peach, and we must say, they were incredibly juicy and delicious!)Our final stop of the day before arriving at our accommodation for the night was at a Buc-ee's gas station, which I believe was just a little bit outside of Mobile, AL. This was our first Buc-ee's experience and to say we were blown away would be an under statement. We DO NOT get anything like this at home. Gas pumps upon gas pumps that seemed to stretch out to the horizon, and the largest gas station shop we have ever seen. From Buc-ee's merch to freshly made jerky, fudge, burritos and bbq food, this place had a mind blowing range of snacks for the road.After quite some time spent in Buc-ee's, we hit the road and headed for Gulf Shores where we stayed in an airbnb which was located in a beautiful and very peaceful neighbourhood. This was our first time staying in an actual residential area in America, as opposed to our usual Hotel stays. We felt like one of the locals sitting outside the house at night, eating some snacks from Buc-ee's and listening to the orchestra of insects that trilling in the background... Bliss! Irish Couples First Impressions of Alabama, USA 🇺🇸 Life with Scott & Amy Jane 2026-06-20 | 📸📍Huntsville, Alabama, USAAfter seeing a little bit of Tennessee, us Irish folk were keen and curious to go further into the Deep South to Sweet Home Alabama. Was it really sweet like home? Let's find out!We arrived in Huntsville, or better known as Rocket City 🚀 by the evening time, and were ready to go hit the town for some exploring by sundown. We wanted to see what Downtown Huntsville, the home to the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, was really like.Of course us Irish people are not used to the heat and were feeling quite dehydrated, so our first stop was Jefferson St. Pub to quench that thirst with a Twisted Tea (Jack Aynsley definitely influenced us here) and a Sun Cruiser. We listened to some chill live music as the sun went down on a southern Friday summer's night in Huntsville. 🌅What happened next gave us the finest first impression of the people of Alabama. Amy complimented a stranger on his dancing, which opened up conversation and next thing you know it he was giving us a tour of downtown Huntsville, taking us to Big Spring Park and telling us all about the history of this city. It is safe to say that this gentleman, who we later learned to call Matt, showed us just how hospitable and friendly the people of Alabama can be. 👥After this we went to an underground bar called 'Voodoo' while we waited for our table at the well-known Jack Brown's Beef & Burger Joint. We sipped on a pink chicken and enjoyed some more live music 🎶Now, whilst it might not be that typical, hearty southern food, we had heard about this famous burger joint and how they were home of 100% American Wagyu burgers, and thought, what better place for a 25 year old girl to have her first burger. 🍔Yep, you read and heard that right... No. Words. So, did JB's live up to the hype? The next morning we got breakfast at Biscuit Belly on our way out of Huntsville, but all of our footage from that morning has disappeared. Irish Couples First 24 Hours in The USA 🇺🇸 Life with Scott & Amy Jane 2026-06-15 | 📍 Tennessee, USA 🇺🇸Join us for the first 24hours of our 2-week road-trip through the Deep South, starting off in Tennesee.Having never stepped a foot in Tennessee between us, it is safe to say we felt the cultural differences from back home as soon as we landed. After flying from Dublin to Atlanta, then from Atlanta to Nashville, it is safe to say we felt the tiredness from flying but showed up with the most child-like excitement as we began our trip of a life-time. For our first night, we stayed in Nashville, The Music City. With 2 hungry bellies, our first priority was filling them with some good, southern food. What better place to do this for 2 Irish tourists other than Hattie B's Hot Chicken joint, because, when in Nashville.We are not quite sure the Irish are built for the hottest of Nashville hot chicken 🥵Our first night in Nashville came with a well-learned lesson, please learn from our mistakes if you are planning on hitting up Broadway 🫣The next day we headed out towards the Tennessee countryside, and we were completely blown away by the difference in the houses here compared to home, we aren't jealous at all...We drove out to the quaint little town of Bell Buckle. Whilst it is a small town with a population of around only 450, it has got a mighty main street that has that 'straight out of a movie' kinda feel to it. We had a little dander into a few shops where we got to chat to a lovely lady, whilst waiting on a table in the Bell Buckle Cafe, and boy, was it worth the wait... 🤤After eating some more good hearty southern feel-good food, we headed further into the Tennessee countryside, where the lovely Tennessee weather gave us a little feel of home which got in the way of our plans to go for a walk in Tims Ford State Park. You win some, you lose some, and I suppose we are well used to that craic back at home! ☔️Not a bad start to our Southern road-trip, I guess it can only go up from here, right? 24 Hours Exploring DONEGAL, IRELAND 🇮🇪 Life with Scott & Amy Jane 2026-06-12 | 📍Donegal, Ireland 🇮🇪2026 is the year we start acting like tourists in our own country and start exploring more of it and less taking it for granted! Our First Night CAMPING IN DONEGAL 🇮🇪 Life with Scott & Amy Jane 2026-05-14 | We spent a lovely May bank holiday weekend camping in the lovely Irish coastal countryside of county Donegal with our English pals. Irish Couple Spend 24 Hours in Cornwall! Life with Scott & Amy Jane 2026-04-29 | 📍 Cornwall, United KingdomWe travelled on a short, sweet and slightly bumpy flight that only lasted a quick 50 minutes from Dublin, Ireland into Newquay, Cornwall at the end of March this year in hope for slightly warmer weather and something different from the norm. After two nights, it is safe to say we left happier, sun-kissed and slightly heavier than we arrived! We tried Cornish Cream Tea (without the tea), were on the hunt for some Cornish Pasties and fresh fish and chips, and filled ourselves with fudge in Padstow. After catching the ferry, to balance all that food, we walked along the South West Coast Path from Rock to Polzeath. This trip filled both our bellies and our hearts, and we will definitely back to explore more of Beautiful Cornwall 🌊#Cornwall #CoupleTravel #England #CornwallCoast
