World’s Greatest Day Hike | Tongariro Alpine Crossing | New Zealand

Garnett Snyman 2026-01-23 | Happy new year

This was one of the most beautiful hikes I have ever done. It was also my first International hike I have done, which makes it extra special. The scenery changes so much on this hike from volcanic rock to an actual forest with a waterfall.

The hike is tough due to the elevation combined with the weather changes and also the total distance you have to hike. Take clothes in your back pack for both summer and winter because you never know. I actually wore two sets of pants, a long set and a short set underneath. You do need some level of fitness for this hike and the whole hike is exposed so take sunscreen.

Hiking Clarens | The gem of the Freestate

Garnett Snyman 2025-06-09 | This was the first hike of 2025 and I can tell you that when you start exploring South Africa you will be amazed. The Golden Gate National Park is probably one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world. Our trip had a lot of rain and I have to say it definitely made the hikes more exciting. There are longer hikes like the Wodehouse trail, which I would do in the future. The roads in Clarens are not the greatest but you don't need a 4x4. You also pay a hiking fee at the office in the National Park which is very cheap but they also give you a mini map.

Also, there is another route called the sky contour hike, which is inside Clarens and looks amazing.

Cradle Moon Hike | Gauteng

Garnett Snyman 2025-01-19 | If you want to do a cool family activity this hike/walk is just for you. The benefit is that you also get to see some amazing animals along the journey.
We did the 8km hike around the dam and if you are first on the trail I can guarantee you will see all the animals, so start early.

The drone shots are very old clips I took of this place a long time ago, which I knew would come in hand sometime.

Harties River Hike

Top 13 Hikes in Cape Town | 13 Peaks Challenge

Garnett Snyman 2023-09-17 | If you ever wandered what the best way would be to experience Cape Town then it's definitely going to be the 13 peaks challenge. The challenge is super tough and really makes you go the extra mile to complete it and I definitely had some risky moments. it's about 100km and 6000m elevation but you can do it in stages or like some of the crazy people in 24 hours 😂.

I am so proud of my wife also completing this challenge with me as this was a team effort. She definitely inspired me. To all the friends that joined thanks for the support and chats to make it slightly less challenging.

You are however rewarded with a free 13 peaks badge at the end to showcase your milestone and some battle scars as well.

Low clouds hike in Cape Town | Judas Peak and Grootkop

Garnett Snyman 2023-07-23 | This is a full day hike outing, so make a nice group and be safe. It starts super inclined like all Table Mountain hikes but is quite flat on top until you reach Grootkop. At this point you imagine the climb is over but it's super steep at Grootkop and this really killed my spirit :).

The clouds made the hike super special.

Woodstock Cave Hike | Cape Town

Signal Hill Hike via Sea Point | Noon gun

Garnett Snyman 2023-03-26 | This was surprisingly beautiful and filled with things to see from bunkers to old cannons and wonderful 360 views over Cape Town. This is one of those hikes you can do with kids because it is quite easy but be sure to go in groups seeing that people stay in these bunkers.

The noon gun goes off at 12:00 almost everyday but it's currently closed and used to be open so you can ask the security at the gate and if he's in a good mood he might say you can explore the vicinity.

Constantia Corner Hike | Klassenkop | De Villiers Dam

Garnett Snyman 2023-03-05 | This was a super tough hike for me, I don't know why maybe it was the heat or generally me just being tired 😁. The route is pretty unclear up and quite difficult to track so make sure you follow the map. The view of the dam and camel rock was quite cool.

Hiking to the Highest Point on Table Mountain | Maclears Beacon

Garnett Snyman 2023-01-18 | This is probably one of the most popular routes up Table Mountain via Platteklip Gorge. It is by no means easy and it will definitely get the heart rate up. The elevation is about 700m in 2km so that should tell the story. We took the cable car down because we extended the route to Maclear's Beacon. The beacon is the highest point on Table Mountain at 1086m.

Cecilia Waterfall Hike | Table Mountain National Park

Garnett Snyman 2022-12-27 | This is a moderate hike with amazing views. I really enjoyed the variety you can see on this hike and I am sure dogs will also enjoy this one. Snake hike in Cape Town | Suther Peak Hike | Table Mountain

Garnett Snyman 2022-12-09 | This was quite a challenging scramble hike, but the views will definitely not disappoint. It is about 5,5km and it's one of those lesser traveled hikes. There is to much to see and you can extend the route to the radar station. I reckon a sunrise hike might be the most beautiful for pictures. If you have a dog this might not be the hike for you unless you put him in a backpack :).

Noordhoek Peak Hike | Table Mountain

Garnett Snyman 2022-11-24 | This is a very easy hike and would recommend it to anyone. If you want an amazing view without the effort this is the hike for you. You can actually cycle also up to this peak which is pretty cool. It can also be extended to Chapmans Peak or Constantiaberg.

Constantiaberg Hike | Elephants Eye | Table Mountain

Garnett Snyman 2022-11-13 | This is one of those hikes where you are spoiled with so much to see. This route can be extended all the way to noordhoek peak for a full day outing. I was surprised at how big this cave is and it makes for some beautiful pictures. The route is 3km to Elephants Eye but 4,5km to Constantiaberg. You have to pay at the gate to enter so keep that in mind. From the Cave to the top is very overgrown and I had some serious snake scares, luckily we only saw a tiny brown snake.

Hiking St James Peak via Muizenberg Peak | Table Mountain

Garnett Snyman 2022-08-23 | This was one special hike with numerous viewing points along the route. if you follow me on all trails you will get an idea of what route it is. The route includes two peaks and a cool rock formation. The clouds rolled in at the end and we got lost 😞. We ended up doing an extra 1,5 km but super fun hike to do.

7 must visit shipwrecks in Cape Town (to visit by foot)

Garnett Snyman 2022-08-12 | In this video we explore all the shipwrecks in Cape Town you can visit by foot. There are easy ones you can drive up to but also ones you have to hike a distance to get too. There are many more that you can visit by diving or snorkelling in the waters around Cape Town. My personal favourite was the Kakapo seeing it felt like I was in a desolate place.

The biggest shipwreck hike in South Africa | Bos 400 Hike

Garnett Snyman 2022-07-24 | This is one of the longer hikes in Cape Town, what a scene to visit this wreck that has been here since 1993. Ive heard about a tow snapping on cars towing one another but never on boats doing the same 😁. This is about 9km of moderate incline hiking but the scramble makes it quite draining.

This is a winter hike as shade is super limited and the lush fauna, will make it even more humid to get to the hike. There is also another shipwreck in the middle of this hike called the Ou Schip which is a slight detour.

Scenic Train Trip to Ceres Vlog | Mountain Passes | Ceres Rail Company

Garnett Snyman 2022-06-30 | Welcome back to a stream train vlog, in this video we go all the way to Ceres by bus and back to Cape Town by Train. We drove through amazing mountains and super beautiful scenery. The Train starts from Ceres golf course and goes back Tulbagh, Wellington and Paarl. The Ceres routes only happens on public holidays. It is a super fun experience for the whole family and if you support them you generally support the steam train industry in South Africa. The calmness and serenity is unreal. Perfect Sunset Hike? | Klein Leeukoppie Hike | Cape Town

Garnett Snyman 2022-06-22 | This is one of the easiest and shortest hikes in Cape Town, it is about 3km and takes about 1 hour at a slow pace to get to the top. It is also part of the 13 peaks challenge in Cape Town. There is a gate that you have to press the intercom if it is not open, someone will buzz it open for you. The last two scrambles are quite tough but other than that there is a beautiful view.

Hidden gems in Cape Town | Clarence Drive

Garnett Snyman 2022-06-17 | In this video, we visit the infamous Clarence drive, which is ranked among the most beautiful landscape highways. It is called Route 44 and starts from Gordon's Bay and goes all the way up to Kleinmond. There are some scenic stops along the route with year-round activities. The Whale season also makes Clarence Drive a popular option. P.S you have to order the Galactic shake at Pitstop.

My new favourite Hike in Cape Town | Devils Peak | Table Mountain

Garnett Snyman 2022-05-29 | This was one amazing hike, the views of Lion's head and Table Mountain makes it a definite must do. It is not too bad with quite a steep elevation gain. It was a bit misty but we had some minor glimpses of what the 360 view of the city could be like. They say its 5,6km but I think its more like 6,6km.

Day Trip to Elgin Market Vlog | Steam Train | Cape Town

Garnett Snyman 2022-05-17 | If you are longing for something nostalgic, this old school steam train should fill that void. It is one super fun experience. Even the adults will enjoy it. The train had different compartments and a variety of snacks. The route is very scenic and a dream for photographers. Make sure to check for availability and book in advance. The Elgin market is super vintage and just a tip make sure to eat quick as time is limited :)

Crazy Diving Board Hike | Table Mountain | Kasteelspoort

Youtube Anniversary | Cape Town Montage

Garnett Snyman 2022-04-25 | I am so excited about this anniversary because when I started YouTube I thought it might just be a quick hobby. I have however come to love the YouTube challenge. It takes me out of my comfort zone and challenges me to get outdoors. I am not always in the mood but having this motivating factor of creating a hiking video or just exploring, it really does help.

This video is just a great montage of what I have been up to in the last year. I will try and make a review of every year, just to reflect on what achievements has been made.

Shipwreck Hiking Trail | Cape Point | Thomas T Tucker | National Park

Garnett Snyman 2022-04-06 | If you are looking for an easy hike along the coast this is the hike for you. It is 5km and could easily be made 10km. There are way too much to see on this route and I would recommend doing it in a group. There are two shipwrecks on the hike and definitely make you nostalgic.

Hiking and Camping next to the worlds tallest waterfall | Tugela Falls | Drakensberg

Garnett Snyman 2022-03-29 | This is a bucket list hike in South Africa, the video will never do this hike justice and you would have to experience this yourself. The return hike is about 12km and I would call it moderate too hard, but it comes with a risk factor when climbing the chain ladders. There is an entrance fee at the park and you have to pay for the hike on a per day basis.

The route to the hike is the worst road you will ever see, so you definitely need a 4x4, it's 7km long and takes about 45 minutes. The waterfall was remeasured in November 2021 and is officially the highest waterfall in the world.

Newlands Forest Hike | Cape Town | Table Mountain

Chapmans Peak Hike | Cape Town

Garnett Snyman 2022-02-24 | I enjoyed this short hike up chapman's peak, it's only 5-6km and fairly moderate with some elevation gain. I would recommend the sunset hike, just keep in mind you have to be back at 20:00, at the toll gate for the free entrance.

Deer Park Hiking Trail | Table Mountain

It's part of the Table Mountain area and has amazing views over the city bowl, these hikes can also be extended to very long treks as well. The heat was intense so make sure to take a lot of water on all your Table Mountain hikes.

Crazy waterslides at Sun City | Scary Waterslide | Wave Pool

Blyde River Canyon | Mpumalanga 2022| Sabie Waterfalls

Garnett Snyman 2021-12-04 | This is a bucket list destination I have wanted to do forever, my connection with waterfalls is unreal and on this video I visit about 80% of the waterfalls in Mpumalanga. We stayed at Misty Mountains which is a no brainer if you are in Mpumalanga. The activities is never ending and the staff is crazy friendly. 7 Waterfall Hike | Wathaba Hike | Mpumalanga

Garnett Snyman 2021-11-19 | This was my first overnight hike and I have to say it was quite the experience. I am planning more of these multi day treks in the future. The hike takes 2 days and you start from the same camp everyday. The routes both offer waterfalls and pools to swim in. I would recommend this place to everyone, they also do offer day hikes. The serenity is unreal.

Mont Rochelle’s most scenic Hike | Franschhoek

De Wildt Hiking Trail | Magaliesberg

Garnett Snyman 2021-08-14 | This hike is as tough as they come around the Gauteng area. The trail is called the Ktatu trail and there is other options available as well, shorter routes to the top. The trail offers dog walking as well. It offers beautiful views over the Harties area.

Hedianga Hiking Trail | Pretoria

Garnett Snyman 2021-07-05 | Another great hiking trail around Gauteng, it has various distances and the toughest is the 15km. Be warned of the pipe construction taking place on the trail, which might spoil the beauty but it's still a great locations. The 15km was quite tough :)

Groenkloof Nature Reserve Hiking Trail

Garnett Snyman 2021-06-22 | Welcome back to another hiking vlog, in this week we take a look at Groenkloof nature reserve. The hike features wildlife on the route ranging from zebra's, ostriches, giraffes and game. We did the 10km hike and it is quite challenging.
