One Small Change to Avengers: Endgame JcFerggy 2023-12-13 | In Iron Man 1, 2, and Avengers, we thematically associate AC-DC music to Iron Man, as no leitmotif for him survived more than a single movie.Then Iron Man 3 starts its movie with Blue (Da Ba Dee) and further continues to pull away from the typical musical choices we would associate with Iron Man throughout the movie. Whether or not it was intentionally done or just the result of focusing on its theatrical score, it made Tony feel like he had matured past that immature point in his life.But we know that isn't fully true as Tony still has quite a few return appearances where he grows--but no longer separated from his Iron Man persona, instead linked to him as a character. The events of Avengers weigh heavily on him, and leads him to ditch his reserves of suits. But then he can't stop and makes the Iron Legion. Then Ultron happens, then Civil War. Even his faith his people and his own decision making is tested in Spider-Man. Then his worst nightmare happens when the snap happens and he loses his surrogate child in Peter.So after all that pain and suffering, he closes himself off from others and does a lot of self discovery and invests a lot in himself and Pepper. But then he discovers a chance. He finds that spark he had lost long ago that pushes him to restart his hero's journey.With all of that now said, my one small change to Avengers: Endgame is I would have Tony blaring AC-DC's Black In Black as he pulls up to the Avengers compound. Without even seeing who is driving, you would know IMEDIATELY that it is Tony. In this moment, the movie would be signifying to us that Tony is back for good before he even says a line of dialog. The last time we had this association was when he confronted Loki in Avengers 1, so to have it return here would be the perfect musical endcap to his journey.Regardless, I still appreciate the joke reference in Far From Home with Peter misidentifying AC-DC as Led Zeppelin.Clip is from Avengers: Endgame and music is from AC-DC's Back in Black
