However in this video, the color correction was not quite how I was expecting it to turn out. The colors look rough on the pink and purple, but all in all I think it was okay. This cover took 2 days to complete and I am surprised that with a project made within 2 days, my computer couldn't handle live playing. I've also had problems playing my Memtrix - All You Are cover, so I had to perform both covers on my brother's beefy computer. what 5 YEARS of Launchpad looks like. Prismatic 2022-12-25 | Excession: "We haven't even explored the fullest potential of a single launchpad, yet we're still moving on to dual and triple launchpad covers."me: hold my beerOne night, when I was hanging out with my launchpad friend group, Exce made a ground-breaking hot take that hit me as we were discussing the quality of launchpad covers now days. He stated that even though we have seen countless single launchpad covers, we still have yet to reach the full potential of a single launchpad in the lightshow aspect. Yet, we still move on to create dual and even triple launchpad covers, but 99% of them being just the same single launchpad light but flipped / rotated 180 degrees / mirrored to the other launchpad. We still have yet to make launchpad light effects that critically need more than 1 launchpad. And so, I took that statement to heart. And with the release of a new MDK song that came out, I decided to take it into my own hands to create a launchpad lightshow that strives to push all boundaries of a single launchpad pro. I wanted to make a cover that pushed every single light effect to the very edge. So instead of imagining light effects in an 8x8 grid, I imagined them in a 10x10 grid. With that being said, I got to work. I spent about 3 hours making the first 10 seconds of the lightshow. It was until then, that I had the thought about streaming me making this project live. So, I decided to stream the making of this entire project file live on my YouTube channel. I did this for a couple of reasons. Number 1, I wanted to show the ugly side of making launchpad projects to the public. Number 2, I wanted to show current and aspiring launchpad artists how I create my launchpad projects, in hopes that I would see better quality launchpad covers and videos out there. Number 3, it was for my 1000 subscriber special, and wanted to cherish every moment of the way creating this project from start to finish. I wanted to remember all of the pain I went through making this project, as well as the break-throughs and accomplishments I have made along the way. This project started back in June 6, 2022, and is now finished since November 20, 2022. It has been an amazing 6 month journey. There were a lot of ups and downs in the process of making this project, including the process of moving houses, rushing into college, having a part time job, emotional and mental breakdowns, around 3 corrupted project files that had to be restored, lots of crashes in DaVinci Resolve, blur render error in Premiere Pro which caused me to switch to Resolve halfway editing the video, lots of artifacting / glitches which are visible in the final video but unfortunately there's nothing I can do about it except re-render that part of the video multiple times, 526 UNIQUE LIGHT EFFECTS that had to be exported and imported into Apollo Studio, and lots of other issues I cannot remember off the top of my head. I seriously cannot thank every single one of you guys who are reading this right now. Porter Robinson - Look at the Sky / Launchpad Cover Prismatic 2021-12-25 | Ever since this song came out, it really resonated inside of me and I really enjoyed the way the song unfolded. This is a type of song I usually don't listen to, because it's different from what Porter Robinson usually makes. In some sense it is his genre, but he really pulled off something unique and special about this song that I really love. The entire album really is an adventure in itself and if you guys haven't listened to it already, please listen to his Nuture album! Thank you so much Porter Robinson for making this masterpiece. We made it guys, it's been another entire year of being a launchpad creator. And a lot has been going on since. For many, launchpad is not really a hot topic anymore, and being real here, launchpad is a dying art to me. I love creating launchpad covers for the soul purpose of just being able to create your own visuals the way you see it and perform any song you want. To have that power to perform an entire song from scratch is something truly magical that comes from the launchpad. And its all thanks to the help I have gotten throughout the way. It wouldn't have been possible without the entire launchpad community supporting me. Every single comment I read, because you all make it so much easier for me to create these giant launchpad projects. Creating launchpad projects are simple and straightforward, but very tedious and time-consuming. I've had countless nights where I'd just say to myself, I really can't keep doing this. There's literally no point in doing launchpad anymore, because what I am doing is just wasting time, making no profit, all for my own sanity. I'm not saying I want money for doing this, but to just spend days on end working on something I know won't really help me in the long run, I could just go get a job and instead of working on launchpad I would be making lots more money. But launchpad is still alive to me. It's still a burning passion in my heart and I enjoy that feeling of finishing a project. It is so satisfying to look at your work and say, hey I did that. I did all of that. And to be able to revisit projects that you have made just makes creating launchpad covers so much better. I wanted to showcase all of my dead projects over the course of the years because I still think they're amazing the way they are, even if they aren't completed. These videos aren't really in any particular order, but I did save the best for last. The reason why all of these projects are dead is because I don't really have the motivation to finish any of these anymore, and before any of you say you want these projects, no I will not be releasing any of them to you guys, at least for now. I want these projects to just stay the way they are for now. ILLENIUM - Leaving (feat. EDEN) / Launchpad Lightshow Prismatic 2020-06-25 | Sooo, this lightshow was started all the way back in 2019, August 10th to be exact. I ended up creating the lightshow with 2 layers all the way up to like the first vocals section. And then I stopped. Then I came back after like 9 months to work on it again, and this lightshow ended up being like 8 layers all on 1 launchpad. Pretty amazing. I spent LOTS of my time making sure every single light effect felt like it represented the song in the right way. Needless to say, I'd say I spent a solid 3 months on this project, on only lights, which I think is an accomplishment for me. Thank you all so much for 600 subscribers. Hope you enjoy the performance. also yes the green screen was terrible I know I used a different lighting setup.Sooo.. this project was started all the way back in August 4th, 2018. It's been quite the while, and when I opened up this project again, I was surprised at what I could do back then. I can't even make these lights because they represent a more older style of me, and heck they're really good. But I know I uploaded this on April's Fools day, and the reason is because I can't ever finish this project. Like I said, I can't really make these lights again, they're original the way they are, and a huge inspiration for them is mainly from Lumin and Panther_. I'd personally like to thank them for doing a great job on inspiring the launchpad community. I know this was kind of just a teaser, I have been trying really hard to improve in every way possible, I mean the drop part of the video was pretty much all edited in DaVinci Resolve 16. It is quite the journey trying to figure out how to use dual launchpads to work together on a magnificent song. This is the first time working on a dual launchpad cover and it was very fun! I also deeply apologize for the terrible camera shake that happens throughout the whole video, my tripod rod was slightly touching my table while I was tapping on my launchpads which caused the tripod to shake while recording. I was a terrible launchpadder back then, but thanks to his teachings, he raised me up and got me to where I am today (ya know what i mean cmon lmfao). We started joking around about collabing, we both thought we wouldn't even dare collab because we were both very low-key launchpadders, but then it started. The journey of Soltan Sahara. After a week of sampling, 2 weeks of learning the sampling, a month of making lights, and another month of Silly's vacation, plus a lot of procrastination and sidetracking.. we finally made it TO THE VIDEO. Then- after 15 rendered edits of videos thrown in the trash, we finally finished the video editing. Silly and I gladly present to you, Soltan - Sahara.
