Had to hang onto this one for a little while. I was away all summer studying abroad in Europe, and then I've been busy off at school all semester, but it's finally finished! I'm always happy to finish another cover so hopefully the wait won't be as long for the next one, but no guarantees. I got an internship for next summer, so I won't be home to record.
Anyway, thanks as always for the all the support and see you next time!

Background Track - Tal Tal HeightsThe Dream - Jake McCoy, Inspired by Daytripperjam29952014-07-25 | MP3: soundcloud.com/jakemccoy/the-dream Hey everyone! Just a short explanation of this piece. This summer, all freshman beginning this fall at my university are required to read "Daytripper." Interestingly enough, it is a graphic novel, but it is actually a really cool and insightful book. Our assignment to go along with our reading was to take an excerpt and recreate it in our own way: through writing, video, music, etc. Of course, I chose music, so I decided to write my own little movie score to one of the scenes in Daytripper.
To go along with the music, I edited in the panels from the comic from the scene I was depicting. I hope you like it, and let me know what you think! If you like, or even don't like graphic novels, I recommend giving this one a shot. It's different than most and I really enjoyed it.

Camera angle kinda sucks on this one, sorry about that. AND there is some random distortion that I could not seem to track down and fix. :-/
But lemme know what you think! I layered different mic positions in the samples to get a fuller sound. And I might've taken that middle part out a little bit too long, but oh well. Enjoy!

What's up, everyone! Just wanted to let you know that I am working on my next cover. I thought I could finish it sooner, but working on college audition pieces pushed that back... But. SOON. Here's a piece I wrote over the weekend, so I recorded it for your viewing and listening pleasure. Tell me what you think!
I've been working on this piece for quite some time now. I think it's turned out quite nicely, but there's a few more kinks I need to work on. I kinda messed up in the bridge area, but oh well. I hope you enjoyed it! I'm gonna do my best to get a new cover out soon, but college apps come first, unfortunately. ;D I'll see what I can do! Thanks for all the support guys, and thanks for 15,000 subscribers.
We are back. For good. And we are rockin. The last few months have been hectic. Second semester junior year, exams, Israel, Grammy Camp, and now school again. So, I really hope you guys like this one! After all this is my first Kingdom Hearts song, and KH is an absolutely amazing game.
Let me know what you think, and I'll have my next cover out as soon as possible, as well as some piano compositions. This semester will be crazy too, applying to colleges and all, so I'll be doing my best to multitask. :) Thanks for the support everyone.

So, basically how this went down was that back at MAGFest, Wayne was like, "Yo, Jake, I need you to do some crazy hard core metal for me." And I was like, "Aight. I can do that." And a few months later Wayne sent me the first half of the song, orchestrated and sounding beautiful, and I proceeded to infuse the piece with the heaviest of metals.
But in actuality, the reason we did this piece is because Lauren Henry, being the amazing person she is, was the top backer of the Twilight Symphony Choir Kickstarter. One of the awards for doing so was being able to produce a piece of their choice via Zelda Reorchestrated. Lauren chose her song, and Wayne enlisted my help, and here it is. :) Lauren, I know you gave me permission to upload the song to my channel, so I hope you really like the video!! :D And for everyone else, enjoy!

Collaboration numero 5, and Casper's second collaboration. I'm so honored. :') Indeed, Mr. CSGuitar89 was one of my main inspirations to begin doing these covers, over two years ago, so it's so cool that I got to do this song with him.
Our cover of Pallet Town consists of no synthetic instruments. Not one. Everything is an instrument played, whether it's guitar, or bells, or shakers. I'm not sure about Casper, but this is mostly definitely a first for me. xD So, tell me what you think! *Blows whistle* So I think this is a new thing for me. When working on a large project, I'll make smaller, but still fun covers to lessen the gap. Like this. I made this in a day and half. That's definitely a new record for me.

This song has been on my list for a while. Probably since early last year, and I've even gotten a few requests for it in that time, but it has finally arrived! You know.. I find it only proper that I should improve with every song I do, and it seems like I've done that for the past few videos. Let's hope I can keep it up. ;D
But with this song, I wanted to stay true, but also to do my own thing at the same time. The first go around is pretty straight to the song. But the second time, I whip out a new strum pattern, all kinds of assorted percussion that I recorded myself, and of course, the ocarina. And then to top it all off, a solo at the end. I find that a solo doesn't have to be all shredding to be good. Take many of Pink Floyd's solos, or Queen, or The Eagles. They have melodic, soulful solos, and that's what I shot for.
So, tell me what you think. How you like the mix, the video editing? A tried to make the video more fast paced, to show more instruments. So, overall, what'd you think? Let me know in the comments. See ya next song. :)

I used to think Ryoshima Coast was my best song, but then I made this.
Summer may be over for me, but I'm still hard at work. Pssshh. Who needs to do homework anyway? YouTube is where it's at. (loljk) But, this is a combo song, of Watch the Skies and One They Fear; both occur when fighting dragons. Hence the name I shlapped on there, made it myself. :') But honestly, nothing was more epic than hearing a dragon roar and the distance, and the drums just started to beat. You knew it was going down. But the real battle hadn't even started yet.
So. Tell me what you think. I used a lot of different styles here, the first song was even in 7/8 (not too hard). I hope you guys like it! Drop a comment, thumbs up, even video response if you feel so inclined. Tell yo friends, show your mom. You know the drill.

I tried some new things in this song, along with new panning techniques. Tell me if you think this song sounds more... full than my previous ones, because that's what I'm going for. Also, I refrained from using any distorted rhythm at all. Go me! Hahaha, but for real, let me know what you think! Comment, thumbs up, and sub for more. It almost seems wrong to not have "Super Smash Brothers Melee" yelled at the end of this song.
A long, long time ago, Ro came to me with an idea, to do a song with him. Seeing his skill which he possessed in the videos he already had, I gladly accepted. :) Even after we decided to collaborate, we didn't start for some time, because school was being a mean. xD
Once summer came around, we got to work, and after some time of arranging, discussion, and fooling around, we came out with a final product. So, I really hope you like it! Say hello to Eric Buchholz from Zelda Reorchestrated.
I did drop a few blatantly obvious hints on my Facebook page that my next song would be from Final Fantasy, but which Final Fantasy game? Many of you asked this. Well, ALL of them, of course!! ;) So, this is my second collaboration, this time with Eric Buchholz from Zelda Reorchestrated, whom I have become good friends with since working with ZREO. Go check out Zelda Reorchestrated's music and subscribe at http://www.youtube.com/ZREOTeam
What is special about this song is that it was Eric's idea. I came up with the arrangement, and I gave him the guitar parts to work around. And he made that: That glorious 1.5 minutes of straight harp, choir, and orchestra until the guitar comes in. I really hope you guys like it! Tell me what you think in the comments, and I'll see ya soon. :)

So, this song. Geez. Well, to start off, I think this is my best song yet. The mixing, the mastering, arrangement, I think I've really improved and it's all culminated to this point, as it should be, because I should be constantly improving. Early on I decided that this song, due to it's epicosity, had to be as long as it is. There are so many different parts that I just had to include, like the part from Okamiden (Okamiden has all the same areas as Okami, such as Ryoshima Coast, just different music).
As you may have noticed, I'm a little late on releasing this. School has just been insane and I've been away a lot. So, I'd like to apologize and say that my next song will be out within the next two weeks. Spring break is going to be my friend in meeting this promise. So, like, favorite subscribe, and comment! Tell me what you think, do you think this is my best song yet? What'd you like? Anyway, thanks for watching. See ya soon.
ALSO, SPECIAL THANKS TO ERIC BUCHHOLZ. He helped me with all the strings in the song, and although you can't always hear them, they make the song sound so much more full and rich. Please check out his website if you like Zelda: http://zreomusic.com

Now, I was planning on doing a different song back in December, and I started on it, but it really wasn't working out, unfortunately, so I'm going to hold on to it and maybe do it at a later date. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this song, you can download the mp3!
P.S. Did anyone hear the allusion to Twilight Princess's Faron Woods? Right around 1:40 to 1:50.

First, I hate iMovie. No matter what you do, the volume of a video always fluctuates in weird ways, sometimes more volume changes than others. Sorry if it's annoying in this video, but there is nothing I can do, besides buying another video editing program.
I know what you're thinking. "It's ABOUT TIME, JAKE." Yes. Yes it is. This past month has been ridiculousssssss. First, the new 850-page Eragon book, Inheritance, came out. Had to read that. Skyward Sword came out. Had to play that. I had to go away for Thanksgiving for a week, and on top of it all, I had to either wait for, or force inspiration for my song. xD Lots of variables here as you can see.
So, anyways, hope you guys like this! You may have been able to tell, but the style of this song was loosely based off of the Super Mario Galaxy "style" music. Tell me what you think of my first original composition, and I plan on making more in the future! :D

You can never say "This is Halloween" too much. And all I have to say is Danny Elfman is crazy. This song has so many key changes, it's ridiculous. Anyways, I'd like to thank Mat Graham A.K.A. ArtificialFear for doing some crazy hard guitar sweeping/tapping part. Subscribe to him. http://www.youtube.com/artificialfear
Yeah! Hope you like this halloween-y song. Don't forget to download the mp3! Also... is this movie a Halloween, or Christmas movie? I'm not sure myself.

Thanks to TheDelRe for making this SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK collab with me: The AWESOME overworld theme, The Great Sea, from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.
We are back again, to rock the world. Surprisingly, this collaboration went a lot smoother and was MUCH easier to make than Hyrule Field. We wanted to keep the traditional metal/rock parts of course, but we wanted more emotional acoustic parts. So, that's what we did!
Also, can anyone spot the bonus song in the ending acoustic part? It's from the Wind Waker, too!

Well, I recently got Star Fox 64 3D (which is awesome) and I wanted to do a Star Fox 64 song for the 3D version's release. This song was actually a request by my brother. So thanks for your request, Dylan! ^_^ Well, after Game of Thrones, and now this song, I need to do something happy next, and I have just the thing in mind... Well, I think that's all I have to say, so I'll see you next time, and I hope you liked my version of Zoness! :D

Game of Thrones Theme... Wait.... Not... a video game song?... NOOOOOOOOOOO
Game oof Thrones, for those who do not know, is a series on HBO, with magic, fighting, dragons, and stuff. It's pretty cool, and the theme is cool, too. Well, I would've gotten this out sooner (I feel like I always say this) but I had to do my 1 Year Special and school started, too. I had some trouble with the mix on this one, especially the low end, so tell me how I did on the mix/master of this song! I have already have my next two songs decided, and I can't wait for you to see them! I hope you liked this video, without the intro ;), and be sure to comment, thumbs up, and subscribe! ^_^

Okami... this game is EPIC. I played it about 2 years ago, and I loved it. I recently beat the sequel, Okamiden, as well on the DS. Anyway, if you haven't played Okami, GET IT. It is one badass game, and if you like Zelda games, you'll love it.
Anyways, this song is pretty awesome. You're riding on the back of a whale! What could be cooler? Plus the Okami soundtrack is just ridiculously amazing. I hope you guys like it! I got this one out fast, but unfortunately I won't be able to get them done this fast when school starts. :'( But my next song actually is not from a video game. It's from a TV show, and it's one sick show. ^_^

Well, here ya go, the fourth and final Zelda song. I was away for three weeks about, so that's why this one is so late. All in all, I'm kinda glad to be done with the Zelda songs, because now I get to do songs of my choice, but I'm glad I got to play what you guys voted for.
Anyways, some clips in this video may not be the best inquality or lighting. I'm still getting used to my new camera. Alright, well I hope you like Dragon Roost Island, and you can look forward to plenty of non-Zelda stuff soon. Thanks for watching! ^_^

Zelda song Three!!! WOOP! Well, this one took a while, not because of recording, but because I did not have a camera. The camera I had been using was borrowed, and the owner needed it. I finally got my own camera and filmed this yesterday. I think this song turned out nicely, though. Some clips may be slightly out of sync, because iMovie kept being laggy. And as you may have noticed I put a solo in there, but I kept it quite simple. Comment, thumbs-up, rate, subscribe, enjoy!

This is Zelda song number TWO, and this wasn't a very challenging song, as it's basically the same 15 seconds repeating, but I did what I could to make it varied in genre and style. Hopefully I can get my next one out as fast as this song! Well, not much else to say except, comment, thumbs up, and subscribe! Thanks for watching!

Andrew (TheDelRe) came to me wanting to do a song around late February. We had a few ideas at the time. Deku Palace (Nah), Great Sea (Epic, but not enough), but Hyrule Field seemed right. So, we began our journey.
0:00 Hyrule Field Night 1:24 Hyrule Field Day
We Skyped almost everyday, discussing the cover, coming up with new ideas, and, every now and then... getting off topic, coming up with inside jokes, and not working at all. But it was fun.
Now, our collaboration is complete, finally, but sadly. It was a lot of fun, and a lot of work, and a great experience. I think we did pretty damn well as the youth of the video game guitarist "cult," especially in showing up CSGuitar89 and FamilyJules7X (their opinions may differ), who we are friends with as well.
So please comment (I read every single one), thumbs up, and subscribe. AND SUBSCRIBE TO THEDELRE. He deserves it. Who knew a 15 and 16 year old could ever make something like this? I didn't. Enjoy the video!!!

Zelda song numba one!!! Hope you like it! Wow, I got this one done fast! New Jam2995 record! This really was, and is a great game. I love it. And, if you are wondering, yes, I did get the inspiration for the piano part from "Farewell Hyrule King" from The Wind Waker. Please feel free to comment, thumbs up, and subscribe! This song was a lot of fun! I had to make an intro, because not every song has an intro where I can put the title and my username, like this one. Plus, I think over the course of my last song and this one, I've improved a lot at bass guitar. I hope you like it! Feel free to comment, rate, thumbs up, and subscribe!
