Autism And ADHD At Work: The Research Stops At Hiring
updated
Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD) is one of the most painful but least understood challenges for people with ADHD, Autism, and AuDHD. If you’ve ever felt like one small piece of feedback, a cancelled plan, or a short text reply sent your nervous system into panic mode, you’re not alone. RSD can make criticism, rejection, or even the fear of rejection feel like heartbreak — and it’s not about being “too sensitive.” It’s a neurological reaction that hits hard for neurodivergent brains.
In this video, I break down what RSD actually is, how it shows up in both ADHD and Autism, and why rejection literally registers in the brain as pain. We’ll look at why performance reviews, workplace feedback, and everyday social interactions can trigger spirals of self-doubt, overthinking, or avoidance. For ADHDers, RSD can mean apologising over and over, re-doing an entire project after one small critique, or shutting down completely. For autistic and AuDHD folks, it can show up through misinterpreted social cues that fuel a rejection loop.
Most importantly, I share practical strategies for coping with rejection sensitivity in work, relationships, and daily life. From scripts you can use with managers, to reminders that feedback is about the task and not about your worth, to recovery time after stressful conversations — these small shifts can make a huge difference. If you’re a manager or leader, you’ll also hear tips on how to support neurodivergent employees with RSD in a way that fosters safety, growth, and trust.
If you’ve ever spiraled after feedback, avoided promotions, over-committed to please others, or replayed a text message in your head for days, this video will help you name what’s happening and find ways forward.

This video takes apart the viral headlines suggesting Tylenol use in pregnancy causes autism. I walk through the largest studies, including the Swedish sibling study of 2.5 million children, and explain why correlation is not causation.
We’ll also talk about genetics: autism is about 80% heritable. That means family genetics and biology drive the risk — not a common over-the-counter pain reliever. I’ll show you why the small associations in some studies vanish when you look closely at the data.
Finally, we’ll unpack why this matters. Misinformation like this fuels stigma, blames mothers, and distracts from the real science. Autism has always existed, long before Tylenol was on the market, and autistic people deserve respect — not conspiracy headlines.

This week, headlines exploded with claims that Tylenol use in pregnancy might “cause” autism. As someone who is AuDHD and late-diagnosed autistic, I know how these stories fuel fear, guilt, and stigma. That’s why I’m breaking down the science, sharing my lived experience, and explaining why correlation is not causation.
Autism is overwhelmingly genetic — twin studies show around 80% heritability. The biggest research to date, a Swedish sibling study of 2.5 million children, found no causal link between acetaminophen (Tylenol) in pregnancy and autism, ADHD, or intellectual disability. When researchers compared siblings, the small association disappeared. The truth is, underlying health conditions, family genetics, and environment explain the data — not Tylenol.
So why do these myths spread? Because they’re simple, clickable, and often fueled by conspiracy theories. Tylenol (a brand name for acetaminophen) is easy to target, while supplement industries position themselves as the “safe” alternative. But the science says otherwise. Autism existed long before Tylenol was invented, and blaming mothers for their child’s neurology is a harmful narrative that needs to end.
For those of us with ADHD or autism, the constant stream of misinformation is exhausting. My tip: when you see alarming headlines, pause and ask — is this correlation, or proven causation? Look for peer-reviewed studies, not just viral posts. And remember: autism is not a tragedy. It’s part of human diversity.

Are you a manager who wants to support your neurodivergent team members—but you’re afraid of “getting it wrong”? You’re not alone. Too often, autistic and ADHD employees hide their needs until burnout forces them out. This video flips the script: you don’t need to wait for disclosure to make work better for everyone.
In this video, I’ll show you how to spot early signs of masking and burnout, why disclosure feels so risky for neurodivergent employees, and the simple, low-cost adjustments you can build into your team culture. These aren’t “special favors”—they’re good management practices that improve productivity, retention, and well-being across your whole team.
By the end, you’ll know five practical strategies to normalise accommodations, from written clarity to recovery breaks, so your team can focus on their best work instead of burning energy just to appear “fine.”

In this video, I explain the cycle of hyperfocus and task paralysis, why our brains resist transitions, and how to find middle ground. You’ll learn strategies to reset without losing the benefits of deep focus.
This isn’t about “fixing” hyperfocus, but about making it work for you instead of against you.

Ever sat there knowing you need to switch tasks… but your brain refuses to move? If transitions feel like doing a three-point turn with a shopping trolley, this video is for you.
In this episode, I break down why task switching is so hard for AuDHD (autism + ADHD), what’s happening in your brain, and the strategies that actually work. From executive dysfunction and cognitive inertia to hyperfocus, monotropism, and demand avoidance, I’ll unpack the science behind that “stuck” feeling — and give you simple, science-backed tools to break free without shame.
By the end, you’ll know:
✔ Why your AuDHD brain resists transitions
✔ How hyperfocus turns into task paralysis
✔ What research says about executive dysfunction
✔ Practical rituals to ease transitions (even on meltdown days)
✔ Tools like visual schedules, time buffers, body doubling & sensory cues
This video is for anyone navigating life with ADHD, autism, or both — especially if task switching, time blindness, and “just one more thing” derail your day.
👉 Subscribe for new videos every Saturday with bite-sized neuroscience, lived AuDHD strategies, and zero “just try harder” nonsense.

If you’ve ever been scrolling through TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts and suddenly found yourself thinking,
“Wait... that’s not just funny — that’s literally me,”
you’re not alone — and this video might just help you name what’s been going on beneath the surface for years.
In “5 ADHD/Autism Videos That Made Me Go: Wait, Is That Me? (Late Diagnosed AuDHD),” I’m walking you through the exact moments that led me to realise I wasn’t just sensitive, chaotic, or dramatic — I was neurodivergent. Specifically: AuDHD.
(That’s ADHD + autism — the spicy, often misunderstood combo that’s finally getting some attention.)
These five viral videos didn’t just make me laugh — they helped me uncover:
Why I emotionally spiral over tiny things (hi, emotional dysregulation 👋)
Why I rehearse every conversation and then overexplain (autistic scripting and RSD)
Why I stim, loop songs, info dump, and need silence after errands
Why I’ve always felt like both “too much” and “not enough”
This video unpacks how late-diagnosed adults — especially women, nonbinary folks, and anyone raised to mask — are finally seeing themselves reflected in the digital mirror.
🎯 You’ll learn how traits like:
Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria (RSD)
Verbal stimming and song looping
Sensory overwhelm
Masking and autistic burnout
Info dumping as love language
...are real, valid, and part of how AuDHD shows up in everyday life — especially when it goes undiagnosed for decades.
Whether you:
Have just started exploring a potential ADHD or autism diagnosis
Were recently diagnosed with AuDHD as an adult
Always thought you were just “too emotional,” “too intense,” or “bad at life”
Or you’re deep in the unmasking process and wondering what’s actually you...
👉 This video is going to help you feel seen, understood, and a little less alone.
You might be just now realising how much you’ve been carrying — and how your brain has been working in brilliant, misunderstood ways all along.
Stick around, share your own “wait, is that me?” moment in the comments, and join this growing, loud, sensitive, powerful neurodivergent community.
0:00 Intro – That “Wait, is that me?” moment
1:20 Acts of love, info dumping & autistic affection
3:45 Rejection sensitivity & emotional spirals (RSD)

In this video, we’re doing a full Level 10 Life for ADHD and Autism check-in together. Whether you’re brand new to the Level 10 Life method or looking for fresh bullet journal ideas, I’ll walk you step-by-step through assessing your life balance, identifying priorities, and creating realistic goals you can stick to.
The Level 10 Life (also called the Wheel of Life) is one of my favourite goal setting tools because it makes it easy to see which areas of your life are thriving and which need more attention. Together, we’ll rate 10 life categories, map your current balance vs. your ideal balance, and set actionable steps for improvement.
This is especially useful if you’re neurodivergent — whether you have ADHD, autism, or both — and need a clear, visual way to plan. I’ll share my own ADHD-friendly goal setting techniques and life audit tips, plus how I use my bullet journal to track progress.
📥 Download the free Level 10 Life printable workbook (PDF) — perfect for following along and creating your own customised life audit.
