Add chicken at this stage, or you can dump whole tenders/breasts in and shred them later. Add carrots, celery, and steam while you chop potatoes. Once potatoes have been cubed, add all to the pot and cover with water + appropriate chicken bullion amount, or chicken stock. Season with salt and pepper and herbs to taste. Simmer for 1 hour or however long you'd like. Biscuits (1950 Betty Crocker recipe)mix 2 cups flour and 2-1/2 teaspoons baking powder, and 1 teaspoon salt. Cut in 1/4 cup shortening or butter. Mix in 3/4 cup milk. Knead lightly. Roll or pat out about 1/2" thick. Cut. Place on an ungreased baking sheet and bake until golden brown at 450 degrees farenheit for 10-12 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in mayonnaise or salad dressing, vinegar, onion, and pepper: beat with a rotary beater until smooth; pour into 2 ice-cube trays; chill in freezing unit about 30 minutes or until just firm 1 inch in from edge and soft in center. Spoon mixture into large bowl; beat with rotary beater until thick and fluffy; fold in bologna, pease, carrot, celery, and parsley; pour into 8 individual 1 cup molds or one eight-cup mold: chill until firm. Unmold onto serving plates: garnish with salad greens. Serve with grilled cheese sandwiches for a complete meal.
