Niwalker N50S Review - Can This Tiny Flashlight Really Throw 965 Metres

The Stones Life 2026-09-06 | This flashlight seems like a great addition for camping and exploring the bush? Can it really throw its beam up to 965 metres? In this video, we check out the Niwalker N50S and take it outside after dark.

The N50S produces up to 1,800 lumens and can operate with either a compact 18350 battery or an 18650 battery using the included extension tube. This gives you the choice between a shorter everyday-carry flashlight and a longer configuration with substantially improved runtime.

111,000 Acres of Outback Adventure! Karma Waters Station – Episode 1

The Stones Life 2026-08-24 | We’re hitting the road and heading deep into the Australian outback for a very special camping adventure at Karma Waters Station!

With the Tank 300 loaded up and the camping trailer packed, we set off on a four-hour road trip, following dusty dirt roads and heading deep into the remote Queensland countryside.

Our destination is an incredible 111,000-acre (45,000-hectare) working cattle station situated along the Mitchell River, with roughly 10 kilometres of property width and an amazing 50-kilometre river frontage.

For the next three nights, we're leaving the everyday behind and setting up camp surrounded by some truly beautiful outback country. 🌅🏕️

There are plans to explore the river by kayak, try our luck at fishing, discover what the property has to offer, and simply enjoy the peace and quiet of being miles from the hustle and bustle.

And of course, there'll be campfires, sunsets, wildlife, plenty of exploring and nights spent under an incredible outback sky. ⭐

This is the beginning of a new Stones Life camping series, and we're excited to take you along for the journey.

In this video, I take a close look at the Sofirn SE1 Pro, an incredibly compact EDC pocket light that packs a surprising amount of functionality into a tiny 21g package.

I Got LOST Finding Kearneys Falls! 😳 | Goldsborough Valley & Granite Gorge Part 2

The Stones Life 2026-08-05 | The adventure continues in Part 2 of our split camping series!

We wake to a chilly North Queensland morning at both camps, where there's nothing better than warming up with a hot coffee beside a crackling campfire before another day of adventure begins.

At Goldsborough Valley, I set out to find the trail leading to the beautiful Kearneys Falls. What should have been a straightforward walk quickly becomes an adventure of its own as the overgrown track, storm damage, and fading trail markers make navigation increasingly difficult. Before long, losing the track and finding the way back becomes part of the challenge.

Meanwhile, the girls start their morning exploring the incredible granite boulders at Granite Gorge, taking in the spectacular scenery before spending more time with the park's friendly rock wallabies and colourful native birds.

From peaceful campfires and stunning rainforest scenery to unexpected hiking challenges and unforgettable wildlife encounters, this episode wraps up an amazing two-part camping adventure in two of North Queensland's most beautiful destinations.

Camping Apart to Reset Part 2 - The Gazebo Nearly Collapsed!

The Stones Life 2026-06-08 | The adventure continues in Part 2 of our Camping Apart to Reset series!

After a night of constant rain at Henrietta, we wake to find a huge amount of water trapped in the gazebo roof. Before breakfast can even begin, it's all hands on deck to get the water out before things go wrong.

Once the campsite is sorted, we're treated to a delicious Filipino-style breakfast before heading off on a short rainforest walk to discover a beautiful creek swimming spot hidden amongst the trees.

While Henrietta battles the wet weather, things couldn't be more different at Woodleigh Station. The cool, dry conditions make for perfect camping weather as we head down the dirt roads searching for firewood for one final campfire.

As the sun sets, it's time to relax with a BBQ dinner cooked over the coals and enjoy one last peaceful evening under the stars before wrapping up this adventure with a visit to one of North Queensland's most spectacular natural attractions – Millstream Falls.

This series has been all about stepping away from the stress of everyday life, building a new home, preparing for a move and taking the time to reset in nature.

Camping Apart to Reset - Rainforest vs Outback Adventure

The Stones Life 2026-05-24 | Life has been absolutely flat out lately… building our new home, preparing to move house, work stress and trying to keep up with everyday life. So we decided it was time to hit pause, escape the city and reset in nature. 🌧️🏕️

In this 2-part camping series, Mum and Kea head off to Henrietta for a fun rainforest group camp with work mates, while Dad disappears into the outback for a solo camping adventure at Woodleigh Station.

Rollingstone Finale - They Had to Leave…

The Stones Life 2026-04-17 | What began as an exciting family getaway comes to a more emotional close as the trip winds down. With uncertain weather ahead the morning starts on a quieter note as our daughters pack up and begin their 300km journey home. Watching them drive away is a reminder of how quickly things are changing, and how these moments together are becoming more meaningful than ever.

With just the three of us left, the pace slows as we settle into our final night at Rollingstone. We hold onto the adventure for just a little longer, hoping the weather will allow one last visit to a local swimming spot before it’s time to leave. As the day comes to an end, we share a quiet dinner together, reflecting on everything this trip has given us.

From the unpredictable weather to the unforgettable places and simple family moments, this journey has been one we won’t forget anytime soon. And just like that, Rollingstone becomes another memory—one we’ll carry with us long after we’ve returned home.

Wet season doesn’t give us many perfect days… and as the kids get older, it’s getting harder to get the whole family together at the same time.

Life moves on. Schedules get busy. The older two are building their own lives. So when we finally had a free day — even with heavy rain and wild weather — we decided to make it count.

Today we head to Bramston Beach for a family adventure, chasing pippis in the sand and throwing in a line for a bit of fishing. The weather wasn’t ideal, but sometimes it’s not about perfect conditions — it’s about making memories while you still can.

Underwater Drone Adventure - Chasing Dory Test & Family Fun

In this video, we head to the stunning Babinda Boulders to try out an underwater drone kindly sent to us by Chasing — the Chasing Dory 🐟

Designed with families in mind, this compact little ROV is super easy to use and packed with an impressive camera, making it perfect for exploring creeks, rivers, and underwater worlds. Even though the weather wasn’t on our side, we were still excited to put Dory to the test!

To really show how simple it is to operate, Mum jumped in for a go — and quickly got a little too confident 😅. A small rock was accidentally sucked into the motor, leaving Dory temporarily stuck until we could remove it back home. Luckily, no harm done!

Overall, we were blown away by how easy and fun the Chasing Dory is to use, and we can’t wait to include it in many more family adventures as part of our video production crew.

The Stones Life 2025-12-30 | Christmas didn’t start very festive in the Stones household this year… 😅

We kick things off with an unmotivated Daddy who is seriously lacking Christmas spirit when it comes time to put up the lights. But as the decorations go up, something magical happens — motivation kicks in, the vibes change, and the Christmas spirit is officially switched ON 🎄✨

While Daddy finds his festive groove, Mummy is out tackling the final round of last-minute Christmas shopping. Soon after, the excitement ramps up even more as the annual Cavalcade of cars arrives, bringing family, laughter, and that unmistakable Christmas Day energy.

With the kids getting older, Daddy discovers a new Christmas challenge… having to wait for the kids to start the unwrapping! 😄 From there, it’s a full day of surprises, excitement, and special moments as Christmas Day unfolds.

We wrap up the day the best way we know how — with a traditional Stones family Christmas Day BBQ, good food, great company, and plenty of memories made.

This 7.4km out-and-back trail takes you on a defined path through lush rainforest, featuring steep climbs, rocky sections, and plenty of ups and downs. The reward? A breathtaking waterfall and an inviting swimming hole, perfect for cooling off after the hike.

But outback plans don't always go smoothly—heavy rain has washed out the road, forcing us to turn back. Not ones to waste a day, we detour to the historic Mont Albion Pioneer Cemetery, soaking in a bit of local history before continuing on to the remote and rugged Stannery Hills.

There, we cross paths with a truly unique character who calls this isolated place home. He shares fascinating local knowledge about the area's forgotten tin mines—hidden relics of a bygone era that we set out to explore.
