The old doodle in question serves as the outro that plays just before the song loops - everything was was built on top of that by me. It's not too hard to figure out my main inspirations for the track (Pokémon Azurite's Victory Road and Mega Man Time Tangent's Wily Stage 1), however.
Mega Man 10 October Prototype - Greeting Card demonstration funny toothpaste man 2024-01-29 | In the Mega Man 10 prototypes, Greeting Cards were a functionality made to exchange small, customisable images between people you had previously played co-op with online. Each card would consist of a usertag, which would be automatically design in the Mega Man title style using your username, one of sixteen backgrounds, and various sprites from the game, the latter two of which are unlocked through game progression. As you can see from the footage, I've already played around with this functionality - the default card consists of the blank blue background, the usertag placed in the centre of the card, and no other details.This functionality was present in all October builds, before being removed at some point up to the December 8th build, by which point all functionality and reference to any co-op related mechanic was removed. This particular footage is taken from the October 23rd build.

Ignoring how we managed to take this prompt and go in a frankly terrifying direction with it, I felt it'd be wrong to have a Touhou-inspired legendary theme without taking some seriously heavy notes from actual Touhou music. The end result is something I'm somewhat split on - I am extremely happy with the verse, and the chorus trumpet sounds pretty nice, but I really didn't know what to do with the bridges, and I think it shows - but overall, I'm content.

Featuring a full roster of brand new Pokémon, entirely new characters and locations, and features like the Physical/Special Split, Pokémon Quarantine Crystal offers a new look at the classic gameplay of Gen 2.The moment I realised that one of the main legendaries would be percussion-themed, I immediately got to work on seeing how I could work percussion into the battle theme without breaking the official stylistic rule of never using the noise channel (what you traditionally use for percussion) in battle themes. The result was this - with a bunch of pitch bends on one of the pulse channels, I managed to get something that sounds close enough to a taiko drum. This is probably one of the best tracks I've done for Quarantine Crystal - not a surprise, considering it leans heavily on one of my stronger suits (instrumentation) while sacrificing one of my weaker suits (counter-melodies).

It doesn't offer much in the way of more advanced techniques, and even some of its more fundamental features (such as volume control) don't give you much freedom. So, when varmintz pitched the inclusion of Yotsuba as a character, I felt it would be the perfect opportunity to see just how far I can push the limits of this engine. One weekend and a full audio bank later, it turns out you can push it fairly far, but only if you're willing to give up your sanity.Women want me.Game Freak fears me.Programmers would probably also fear me if they looked at my awful optimisation.This track is a cover of Stage 10 - Zenith, the final boss theme from the game Ginga Force. Yousuke Yasui is one of my alltime favourite VGM composers, and I consider Zenith to be one of his stand-out works. I greatly enjoyed planning out this cover, and I sincerely hope I've done the original track justice. I really had nothing in mind when suggesting this, I just wanted a dex entry that I could jam full of puns, but Daz somehow managed to turn it into one of my personal favourites anyway!

It didn't pan out (and I never figured something else out for them), but the result was still something I was really, really happy with, so it got repurposed for that fleeting moment of hesitation as you approach a truly legendary Pokémon.
Mega Man 9 - Unused OST funny toothpaste man 2021-03-02 | The PS3 version of Mega Man 9 contains an unused track. According to a friend (BlackYoshi) who showed this to me, it's present in bgm_mid, as tracks 129-132. I believe this render of the track was created using the Wii instruments, however - if so, as soon as a more accurate upload of this track is created, I will unlist this upload.Given the tone of the track, along with its position in the files (sandwiched between the ending theme and the various intro cutscene themes), I would have to go out on a limb and assume this was originally intended for the intro cutscene in some fashion, likely playing either before or in place of the first intro cutscene theme. (EDIT: check comments for a better assumption from compass man)
