Petworks Ruruko CCS girl 26ss box opening and review with Momoko and Azone Pure Neemo body Rhiellas Army of Dolls 2026-05-23 | I have often looked at the Petworks Ruruko doll, a petite 22cm Japanese fashion doll featuring the flexible Azone Pure Neemo XS body and thought longingly of her, but been put off by the price tag, which feels comparably hefty for her size. Costing the same, or often more, than her big sister Momoko, this is the first time I have been tempted to take the plunge and grab one of these little gals. My first foray into Ruruko is an interesting ride with ups and downs: I really like her face, but at the same time it feels so very different and almost alien to the Momoko aesthetic. The body looks ery beautiful and poses well, but the joints transform in a strange when when posing and there are a few disappointments, like the wrists. Overall, I enjoyed discovering this doll but don't feel won over to go on the extended hunt for more of these girls. Tonner 12 child dolls: Anne Fitzpatrick vs Marley Wentworth, plus Grace and Sydney Chase VDC Rhiellas Army of Dolls 2026-04-05 | Robert Tonner's collaboration with the Virtual Doll Convention / VDC has been a huge success, with the Grace Fitzpatrick doll, a reimagining of the iconic Sydney Chase from the Tyler Wentworth line, but more recently also with Anne, new child doll similar to Marley Wentworth from 2005. Anne is a fully jointed and highly articulated doll who is about the same height as a Barbie, but has a child's figure and flat feet. It is really fun to compare Anne and Marley as they have so many similarities, but also such key differences: their height and build is about the same, but their faces, hair, articulation and clothing have such striking differences that actually choosing a "winner" between these two is nearly impossible... though there is one of them who grabs more at my heart and who might just remain in my collection. Barbie Gala Collection ranking the dolls: Pink Premier, Lavender Daydream & Blue Sensation Rhiellas Army of Dolls 2026-01-30 | I love it when new dolls series come out and the Gala Collection from Mattel Barbie really made a storm in 2024 when it all started with the now iconic Odile face sculpt and a classic silhouette gown a la Jessica Rabbit. What could go wrong? And then Lavender Daydream came along and a lot of fans seemed to think that something HAD gone wrong. Cheap Chinese dolls vs expensive designer dolls : Integrity Toys Silkstone Barbie Smart Doll Blythe Rhiellas Army of Dolls 2026-01-23 | Now that it is so easy to buy faux designer dolls from cheap Chinese stores like Aliexpress, the temptation to spend 1/3 or 1/10 the price of an expensive designer doll is pretty high! But what are they really like? I tested five of the most common designer doll clones available: A faux Poppy (or Coppy) Parker, a Xian xian Princess, a faux Silkstone reproduction Barbie, an Icy or factory Blythe doll and a 1/3 plastic BJD along the lines of a Smart Doll to see how similar they are to the original and how satisfying there are to play with and potentially collect. Overall I had pretty mixed experiences with these dolls: on the one hand it's hard to get past the fact that some of these dolls are absolutely crazy cheap, while at the same time my satisfaction was pretty varied, though I did find myself quite enjoying two of these dolls. Jason Wu, best known for his work with Integrity Toys, has branched out on his own the Atomic Lab Toys and their first doll is Nymphia Wind, a likeness of the famous drag queen best known for winning Rupaul's Drag Race and also for her love of everything yellow and banana-like. This doll uses the Glamflex body which we have already seen on the Defa Lucy collector doll but an upgraded style, being referred to as 2.0. New Glamflex doll body comparison: Defa Lucy vs Integrity Toys, Barbie, JHD Mizi & Xianxian Princess Rhiellas Army of Dolls 2026-01-02 | I really enjoyed receiving and opening the series 2 Defa Lucy Paris dolls, and found that the Glamflex body, also seen on the Atomic Labs Nymphia Wind doll, really did fulfil my expectations, so I wanted to do a bigger comparison looking at posing, as well as the fit of clothing and shoes, with most of the other leading fashion doll brands offering comparable dolls. I choose Integrity Toys Poppy Parker, East 59th and Fashion Royalty, Barbie Made to move, the JHD Mizi fashion model and the Xianxian princess doll. Overall there are great things about most of these dolls, but overall I was very impressed the feel and quality of the new Glamflex body and was also very excited to find both shoes and clothing that fit her like they were made for her. New Defa Lucy Paris & Glamflex body: double box opening and comparison with Integrity Toys dolls Rhiellas Army of Dolls 2025-12-20 | Defa Lucy dolls hit the fashion doll collector scene about a year ago and took the doll world by storm, becoming an instant success amongst collectors of Integrity Toys, Fashion Royalty and JHD Mizi, despite a fairly clunky body that left a lot to be desired. I got hold of the very first Icon doll, as well as Lunar when a body update was announced, but have been on bated breath for the introduction of the new Glamflex body that I hoped would solve all the issues I had with these fun and price-friendly collector dolls. Peaches n Cream Barbie and American Girl 2025 Reproductions : Who did it better?? Rhiellas Army of Dolls 2025-11-16 | Peaches n Cream vintage Barbie from 1985 is a favourite amongst fashion doll collectors so it's been great to see her celebrated through the years in the My Favorite Barbie releases from 2009 and now in a quadruple reproduction with both Barbie and American Girl producing not one but two versions each of the iconic doll: both the blonde and the brown-haired. Since I already have the blonde version of the 2009 release, I decided to get hold of the brown-haired versions of both of the new dolls, also because I was so impressed by the publicity photos of the American Girl's face. And I was not disappointed!It was great to admire these new dolls and find all the subtle changes that were made in each version, some of which I appreciated while others seemed just to be saving money and really serve no purpose in these reproducttions. Big Barbie day out in Melbourne: Chadstone Signature Galleria, Malibu Barbie Cafe & ABC Doll Club Rhiellas Army of Dolls 2025-10-30 | This weekend I went down to Melbourne to see the cool Pop-up store in Chadstone, the Signature Galleria, as well as having a quick bite at the Malibu Barbie Cafe and shopping and meeting new people and dolls at the ABC Doll Collectors' Club. What a day! So many dolls! Poppy Parker came along with me to enjoy the fun, rocking her pink amongst the Barbies, and I was introduced to some fab other dolls like custom Odile Barbie and even some gorgeous Takara Jenny Calender girls.To get to the pop-up store we passed through David Jones and immediately caught sight of the pink, where we had a great time viewing the older collector dolls like Totally Hair, Astronaut Barbie and even the iconic Black Barbie, as well as a whole wall display of the currently available Signature releases and some fun (if a little cheesy) exculsive props and clothing to buy. Vintage dolls, Integrity Toys, Poppy Parker, Robert Tonner and more: all dolls and collectors are welcome here and my Green Smart Doll Legion accompanied me on the trip and enjoyed the festivities. And what festivities there were! After a short flight up to Sydney we began with a visit to an incredible collection of primarily vintage Barbies, but dotted with a whole variety of other gems to delight us, like Takara Jenny, GlamourOz dolls and more.After that we dropped into Sydney where we did some quick sightseeing at the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House, before checking in at the main convention to enjoy the cocktail party. During the cocktail party there was a fabulous competition run where I entered two dolls and took out first place in one category with my Harley Quinn circus interpretation. Yay! There was also an artist showcase where I chatted to many amazing people like Lady Emerald Couture, @barbitecture , Jozef Szekeres of GlamourOz Dolls, Jools Manley of Garden of Earthly Delights and more. Geelong Doll, Teddy & Craft Fair 2025 | Vintage Finds Handmade Treasures & Doll Collectors Rhiellas Army of Dolls 2025-06-28 | Last weekend, I had the absolute pleasure of attending the Kiwanis Doll, Teddy and Craft Fair in Geelong, just two weeks after my trip to the Melbourne Doll Fair! Even though it was a chilly, foggy morning and I had to set up my stall solo, I made it just in time to showcase a range of dolls—including some of my 16-inch beauties like Robert Tonner and Gene Marshall, as well as Barbies, and Takara Jenny and Licca dolls. The Geelong fair had a unique charm with a strong focus on vintage and antique dolls, handcrafted teddies, and beautifully made crafts. I even got to chat with the event organizers and learn more about the amazing work Kiwanis does to support children’s charities—making the whole event feel even more powerful.Throughout the day, I met some lovely people who were passionate about dolls, sewing, and collecting—from fans of Evangeline Ghastly to crafters eyeing up Rainbow High dolls. There was so much to admire: antique Norah Wellings dolls, cloth-faced treasures from the 1930s, handmade teddy bears with incredible restoration stories, and even quirky BJD-style clone dolls.
