But it kind of was a break with prior notice, wasn't it? Life has been quite stressfull lately. But thanks to everyone who missed me or my videos. And I thought about how it would feel if my dad died. Only a few days after the funeral my dad had to go to a business trip to China. And then there was this terrible earthquake. You have no idea how frightened I was. Thankful nothing happened to him but he was in the area only one day before the earthquake happened there. And well, it makes you think, you know? Now he's stuck in China because of this stupid ash-cloud over Europe... argh... So yeah, these are the reasons why I think about fathers a lot lately. For me my relationship with my father is really special and I think the father/daughter relationship is always something very special. To me my father is and will always be my big hero, my idole. It's a contest where you are supposed to make a video to a song from the country you're from. I think this contest is such a cute idea and since I've always wanted to vid another German song I decided to participate. And this is my entry using Clueso's "Keinen Zentimeter". For all N O N - G E R M A N - S P E A K I N G - V I E W E R S: I tried to translate the lyrics in the video and below. I found the translation online. I tried to translate the song myself but the problem is: The song is very poetical , so translating it is really difficult. Thats why the translation sometimes probably doesnt make much sense. But I hope you get the meaning of this song. Its pretty much about being in love and wanting to be as close to the one you love as possible. I hope you enjoy the video even when you dont speak/understand German. But since I study German language and literature studies I thought this contest would be a great opportunity to show you that German is a very beautiful, poetical language. I had this idea once before but I never really made it, and thats why I'm so thankful that she suggested it! Thanks a lot! :) I hope you'll enjoy the video, even though its so short and definitely not my best editing work but I had a lot of fun making it! :) This video pretty much sums up why I prefer Cappie/Casey over Casey/Evan. I mean Evan may be the prince who gave her presents and a "family tree", but Cappie is the one who made (and still makes) her smile, who loved and loves her no matter what. Cappie always treated her good (well, ok, maybe except for the reason for their break-up), was always there for her, even when she was with someone else. Evan really treated her bad, and so did she sometimes. They just weren't good for each other. But thats just my opinion. Ok, I know, it's really late for that, but the past few days/weeks have been crazy and stressful. I still hope you all had a great New Years Eve and will have an even better year 2010! I have to mention three vidders whose videos are just amazing and you should check them out: MitsuCat2, DoubleTreble1518 and WIRWEN. I saw their videos and just knew I had to watch this series. A big reason why I wanted to watch it is because last year I had a class in university about the grotesque elements in literature. And besides other literature, we also had to read Lewis Carroll's "Alice". It was kind of weird to read them as a grown up and its so weird to analyze them ... but it was the best thing about this class (by far). Thats why I was really excited to see what this version would be like. And I have to say: I really, really like this modern adaption. I think they did a really great job in creating sceneries and developing characters. I mean, how awesome is Hatter?! Ok, enough bla bla from me :) I just wanted to show my love for this series, the couple and Carroll's story. The video turned out pretty crappy. I mean, his brothers suck, let's face it (well except for Calvin of course!). So, I was "a bit" angry at him. BUT then again: the way he talked to Cappie in front of the KT house showed me how fragile and vulnerable he is/was (Jake did such an amazing performance in this scene, don't you think?!). And then the "I could really need a friend right now" made my heart melt... aww... I have no idea if I'll like Evan in the next chapter, but I definitely love him with Rebecca! :) I think they are really cute together... and I think they could be very good for each other! Both are lonely, abandoned and pretty sad at times. Casey & Rusty - If you fall, I will catch you Reely 2009-08-12 | Rusty: "And if you fall..." Casey: "... if you say 'I will catch you'... this conversation is over!" _________________________ The Cartwright kids in season 1 & 2 _________________________ In my first Casey/Rusty video ("Sooner or later") I told you that I wanted to make a video with more "friendly" scenes of the two and here it is! :) I finally chose a song, a favorite song of mine actually. I love the Eva Cassidy version so much, it's so emotional. Again, it's a pretty simple video showing the relationship of my second favorite sibling pairing on TV (Winchesters must be first :)). The chorus obviously shows how they are always there for each other, in the verse I tried to show the difficulties they had especially in the beginning of the show. I want to dedicate this video to my big brother. The day after tomorrow it's his and my birthday (and no, we are no twins :)) and sharing our birthday always makes me feel that we have a special bond. Somehow. Weird. I don't know. But making this video made me think about him a lot and that's why I wanted to dedicate this video to him! And because he's awesome! :)
Sam Winchester - Unrecognizable to Myself Reely 2009-08-10 | "At night I could hear the blood in my veins, Black and whispering as the rain" ________________________ Sam Winchester in season 4. ________________________ Poor Sammy, that's all I want to say about this video... I mean we all know that he screwed up big time... but it's Sammy: He always wanted to do (what he thought was) the right thing. He is still a good guy! I'm really excited to see Sammy in season 5, especially his relationship to Dean. That should be interesting! I guess I've never hated a video during making it as much as this one! :) You can't imagine how many times I changed the clips, the colouring (at least 20 times :)) and everything else! That's why I really hope you like the video! :) And I'm still not too satisfied with the result, even though I think this song is great for Sam in season 4 (and yes, how lame am I? I used this song only 1/2 months before for a "Reign over me" video...
