"Why do I try to find release, when it's just right here!"
A requiem, a story left untold, and a goal upon which years of loss weigh. This is Dajski, my grandest feat and most meaningful completion, now and forever. This level has served as a vessel for my deepest emotions, and I can't call the circumstances surrounding it anything but heavensent. From the moment the opportunity arose, I knew I'd verify it. A journey into which I could channel all of my emotions and self-reflection, while also being one I could have full control over in an environment I'm most familiar with. To think everything unfolded so perfectly... it can't be put into words how grateful I am for this experience.
That being said, with how much weight this level carries, I can't just ignore how inherently crushing it also was. 75 thousand attempts worth of self-reflection and contemplation on a verification so important to me, without any breaks taken... This was no mindless grind, and though I knew from the beginning what I was getting into, I now have no doubt about calling this my best achievement ever. By far. This doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it, quite the opposite, actually, as there's no chance I could have ever withstood playing anything so difficult without an attachment as significant as this. All of the hurdles I experienced felt like necessary steps, and the payoff was worth more than any regular completion had ever brought me before. In other words, I'm so glad my final hardest is one that hits so close to home.
Then there's the level itself. Those close to me know my affinity for self-developed styles all too well, and seeing Natalie's effort transform into such a complete showing is just so so wonderful. The result fully resonates with me, and the vibes are just immaculate. Despite the difficulty and sparse usage of 2.2 stuff, I felt as if I were playing a level straight from prime 2019, especially with how the level is structured. Levels brimming with purity like this one deserve so much more attention, especially when they also look as good as this.
The true weight of this completion can't really be represented with words alone, but that's okay. After this completion, I'm more than fine with leaving some things unsaid. Thanks to those who have been there for me throughout the years, helping me grow and such. You know who you are. Now, 'witness my apotheosis!'

Here's yet another group completion organized by myself and kv, and with a record turnout rate! This time we decided to choose a more widely praised and easier level to acommodate the many returning players who participated. Even though some found it to be a bit too learny, I think it turned out to be a pretty perfect introductory fit to some of the newer game features thanks to how well they were incorporated into some of the effects. It was yet again an extremely fun social experience and I'm glad we were able to gather some of these OGs back together. Level's undeniably sick too, kind of rekindled my hope in 2.2 megacollabs back when it released because of how amazing the level structure is. The song rep is remarkably strong althroughout too, especially at the 40% strobe ship which is by miles my favourite work from djudjeito. Actually feels transcendant during those first few attempts from 0. Though not my absolute favourite, it's a very good contender for extreme of the year and easily my top recommendation for those who haven't played many 2.2 centered levels. Behind the unnerving camera changes lies a wonderfully sublime creation, and it you fail to fall for their intimidation you are sure to be blessed with the most blissful of experiences.

I have an affinity for the time period this released as it's when I really started getting to know a lot about the game, and to this day think it had the best and most influential "experimental" releases in the game's lifespan. This level in particular is what I'd consider to be the style's precursor, by which I mean a clean template for others to take inspiration from. I think it holds up very well, especially nowadays, where even seemingly atmospheric levels often feel the need to add unnecessary complexity which tends to worsen the overall experience. Loved the signature clean blocky design, and the gameplay was surprisingly pleasant and claming to both learn and play. Though it's interesting to look back on how much simpler in nature "gimmicky" levels used to be. Back when this released no one wanted to touch it because of how scary it looked but nowadays it barely even feels learny, let alone memory. Hope this video makes someone approach it from a different angle and develop an appreciation for it similar to mine.

The frozen particle gimmick is one of the most interesting effects I've seen in 2.2, and I really like how the level uses it throughout its runtime. It's a really cool take on one of my favourite themes and it captivated me right away. Aside from the part inspired by O, the sections work together rather well and the level as a whole left a very solid first impression.
However, having permeated this perfect freeze, I do highly recommend skipping it. The difference between watching and playing this really is striking, and the level mostly loses its allure during the learning process. I really wish the gameplay or decoration had more "landmarks", by which I mean one-time, unexpected additions or switchups which make the drawn out parts blend together less. The only part that didn't feel mushy towards the end was the first dual, since the gameplay mechanics there are really varied. The level feels like it was hack verified to an unusual extent, and is a much more pleasant visual experience, so if you liked it as much as I did upon first viewing, heed my warning, and admire it from afar. Though if for whatever reason you do decide to play it, don't use this video as a guide. My route was very vulnerable to frame alignment issues, which made the level impossible on certain attempts or sessions.

I've said many times just how much I love levels uninfluenced by stylistic norms, especially when the lack of boundaries allows the creator to make something novel. The song and decoration pairing make this a one of a kind experience with a nostalgic allure that could only be achieved by a creator who genuinely had fun creating the level. It doesn't end up feeling like a parody of good late 2.0 levels unlike many others in this style, instead retaining true aura through lack of polish while still being coherently put together. It's living proof that striving for perfection when making design rarely pays off in the long run, and I wish some GDPS creators would take that advice to heart. Really hope this gets rated someday. Also, special shoutout to the 38% dash orbs, they are so sick.

This level and I go a pretty long way back, with my first run of 50-100 being right after release. I occasionally came back to it every now and then to have some fun but didn't really dedicate myself too hard until a few days ago, where Hollin ultimately convinced me to finish it. Aside from it being extremely well made, it teaches a really important lesson about megas and should serve as inspiration for many out there.
I think an aspect of collabs that most hosts get wrong has to do with the way they motivate members. In most cases the host presents keywords, small bits of concept art, maybe some other majorly helpful instructions or a roadmap of sorts, or even just the song and theme. What ensues next is either the instant death of the collab or years of postponements, because barely anybody wants to build. No matter how internally passionate about the idea the host is, if all that's on their mind is the level itself it will always fall into that loop of rot. What most don't realize is just how much smoother the process is if you focus on literally anything but stressing the project. It's hard to make collaboration fun when you're pushing yourself or others too much. After assuring the members that there's always a next step and most importantly focusing on fun, you'll realize that no, the members really aren't that busy. They will make time, and the product will be amazing. This is why megacollabs from creator FRIEND groups always turn out the best. Be it ilrell's circle, the best teams from the GD civilization events, or even most geostorm adjacent megas, they are all held together by the creators' bonds and/or friendship rather than just individual creator skill. Once you notice this, it's actually easy to tell how much fun a creator had building a certain part just by looking at the finished result.
Scream Machine is the absolute peak of what can be achieved with that fun oriented mindset. I honestly struggle to believe this whole level wasn't built using the collab editor mod (even though the part at 20% indeed was). A megacollab, especially one this long, has no right to have such consistent yet varied progression, while also never feeling like it deviates from its original style and concept during its entire runtime. Of course, the lineup itself is stacked too, but a product like this can only be achieved with a triple A hosting job, right here on display. It not being at the top of my favourites list comes down to personal preference, with both the song and horror aesthetic generally not being my taste. If there was one level I wish got a good video detailing the creation process, it would be this one. Both to learn about their workflow & idea conception process, and...
... to find out what lost soul decided to put whatever the hell 98% is supposed to be in the level. Like man, you guys really just made one of the most immersive and cohesive levels in the game and decided to spit in the face of anyone trying to experience it right at the end. After dying there once, Zipixbox's part lost all of its otherwise insane intensity from 0. After dying there for the seventh time... yeah you know what just give Zipix upload rights to all of the team's projects, Next Stage was not enough. Thank god for my good mindset these days because otherwise this description might have been something entirely different. The verification job in general is clearly the most rushed aspect of the level but the base gameplay (and everything else) is more than good enough to compensate for it. Would still probably recommend to play, and definitely recommend to take notes from.

I really really like how the mod is used to complement a style instead of serving as a cheap way to trace others' art more efficiently. Huge bonus points for that. You can tell qalli's studied past updates since this has all of the strengths of 2.1 effect masterpieces and only uses 2.2 features to bypass the limitations those levels had. A rare, cozy gem which I hope gets rated very soon.
Unfortunately, the gameplay kinda sucks ;-; it's in a really weird position where none of the clicks are hard enough to feel satisfying by themselves, but they're also not easy so you just die wherever. It never really gets consistent and the gimmick complexity isn't balanced out by good playtesting. The cube in the disconnected dual seemed particularly fragile. It's also syncbait...

It's very korean to have a style switch as random as that in such a random place but I've always thought of this level as something more, so I consider it to be a detriment which only serves to break immersion. For this reason, I took it upon myself to make a version with that part replaced (with some extra text additions as a bonus). I myself think it looks quite nice and certainly much more satisfying in both in terms of level progression and gameplay. The difficulty is pretty much unchanged, with it being a smidge easier than Artificial Ascent imo. Level as a whole is god damn fantastic too, the arts, level structure, and my beloved clouds are all really memorable and well executed. Definitely much better than Asmodeus in every way, it's pretty difficult not to compare the two. It plays so nicely as well, especially 66-100 which is a click pattern masterclass. Highly recommend both versions, it's really sad that this isn't a widely known classic.

It felt like a hard/insane demon after all, right! Yeah it somehow stayed as an extreme, and of course I didn't have the footage (no vid no did :c) so rip to that oh so valuable first victor title. Though I must admit that I have no idea how I didn't encounter the multitude of bugs or annoying as hell timings the first time around as that's really the sole source of the difficulty. Never underestimate the power of not having a difficulty estimate (and Smarted's powers) I guess. Still not extreme though.

The product as a whole is genuinely flawless. As meka's recent release has shown, even with a similarly divine roster, these types of megacollabs can't, and won't ever be made again in this day and age. At least not in their natural form. Personally I've always actually really liked it though. The shit this level got was totally undeserved and definitely mostly prompted by outside events unrelated to the quality of the decoration. If anything, the parts made by others are way worse and have aged pretty terribly (aside from 59-70, that section still goes hard). Guy had a pretty unique style and was bullied out of using his full potential smh. The gameplay is also absurdly fun, most likely unintentionally, but that's the case with like every hard level from that time so it's not like that's wrong in any way. The verifier did a very good job of preserving that vibe but not leaving bullshit in intentionally, really makes it feel like something straight from 2019. Wholeheartedly recommend this, especially to those who've known about it for a long time... But where are those who share the memory?

At the start I had very high hopes for this one. I was wary, as I knew most of the difficulty came from rather unexpected sources which if unprepared for could make the experience more depressing, but I had hoped everything would resolve itself in due time after adjusting to it. Unfortunately that would not be the case. Not in the slightest. All of the problems soon started to unveil and to put it lightly, figuring out how to solve all of them was some of the least fun I've had trying to figure out anything in my life. Although it looks rather doable, it forces you to go through such a fixed route with very little improvisation at your disposal which just made me feel ever more worthless after each failure. Even with the great help of others new ways to mess up kept showing up and pissing me off as I never truly felt in control of my mistakes. Of course, the parts nobody finds difficult (the drop) ended up being far and away the hardest for me. You know, having such different experiences from common expecations can become really boring after enough times, especially when it's at moments where you can't do anything but try to adapt, even though you can't... Either way in the final sessions I had finally come to terms with the issues and took on different mindsets that got me somewhat chilled out, and though by then I was in rather a comfortable position I still felt unfulfilled. The long stint had taken a toll on me and I never truly got to appreciate what could have been a great experience. I desperately hope the next one will be much better, especially with the plans I have set out to achieve.
With that said, I could not have picked a better level to end off this particular year with. Wish you all a wonderful 2026.
As for the decoration (only part that really matters), I think the first half is an absolute masterpiece that is perfectly suited to the similarly wonderful track with pure vibes unmatched by any current list demon, while the second half is horrendous in comparison, to the point where I had to make some visual adjustments myself as I couldn't bare how jarring the style switch was (sorry ryli but you really could not have made anything fit the first half with your style). First half's vibe still raised the enjoyment by a solid 4 points though. The level sure took a turn... for the worse! Xd

One of the better syncbait levels, though it still falls short in the actual sync parts. Having had the honor sniped three times before, I truly locked in the moment I saw this place and after a very tiring 2 days I came out victorious. This experience made me relive the old low extended grind, and though I am impressed by my perseverance it was still so damn painful, partly due to the stress, but mainly due to just how much of a roadblock some of the parts in this are. Most of this level is pretty fun and very very not list worthy but 50-58 is some of the worst gameplay I've come across, it's so much harder than anything else solely due to the CPS needed and generally just destroyed me. My hand still hurts more than it ever had before in my life while writing this description and if you don't have good click speed I would advise to stay away from the level. I also didn't find the decoration very interesting which definitely made me much less engaged but I can see the effort and personal style jbooster has been developing which still makes me respect it a decent bit. It sure as hell stands out from the mountains of true 2.2 garbage released in the past 2 years. I'm just really glad to have this rather personally important achievement under my belt.

At first I wasn't that interested in this level, but after some persuasion I decided to give it a go and it turned out to be an extremely solid level and a great choice for this sort of event. It's consistently good, never really dipping in quality and fairness, and its balancing is memorable enough to the point where if you're playing it for an extended period of time the parts do not start meshing together, contrary to other levels of a similar style. By my standards, this may just be the worst thing I've ever played. Making me do this sort of ship and wave control under such flashy conditions is just cruel, and the gameplay is completely reactionary meaning I have to improvise all of my click patterns on the fly which with my epilepsy is just one insane gamble. I don't want to waste more time thinking about this level so I'll keep it short. Do not play this if you are actually passionate about level design as it will disappoint you in every way. The only reason I beat this is because of the obligations I had tied to this travesty (including the intro, made a promise 4 years ago and I'd feel guilty not keeping it despite how much it sends shivers down my spine). If you're a careless grinder who can actually see the level in the slightest then go ahead as the gameplay is so basic that you'll probably derive as much enjoyment from this as any other level. In my eyes though, it's the epitome of the afwul direction this game has taken over the past year. I'm sure I'll never subject myself to beating a level this worthless ever again.

It's an awesome mashup of the creator's very own ideas thrown straight into the editor with no filter and it makes traversing the level just that much more joyous than levels that follow an engraved formula. It even plays and looks pretty nice, especially the last part which has a vibe not really seen in any other level I've played, and is the reason why i decided to beat it on the 2.1 version. Incredibly specific circumstances resulted in a pretty huge group completion of this incredibly polarizing and forgotten level, and in the end I couldn't be more glad.
For years I've regarded this as the most forgettable extreme demon. It's 4 minutes long, has barely any style variation, is 1.9 styled and has honestly nothing of interest to offer. Very broken and not exactly consistent gameplay on top of that makes this one of the easiest levels to have a truly miserable experience on, and though unfortunately some members did have to go through that pain, personally I found it really fun. That's obviously in part due to the fluke, but it's also inoffensive enough to where I could just laugh off the bs and chill out for most of the level's runtime. XXLs are also generally the most enjoyable category of levels for me right now as on average they offer the most interesting experiences so I didn't get bored, though that's totally just me as objectively it's probably the biggest snoozefest I've beaten. All things considered it definitely deserves its spot as the most forgotten extreme, though I must admit that the lack of traction and victors makes it a better level to experience in a group completion setting as we were able to discover and share around relatable fails and what we thought of each part ourselves, without any outside imposed expectations. For a level as uninteresting as this I'm glad we were able to make the experience so memorable!

On one hand the consistency and satisfaction of the gameplay created an awesome playing experience akin to 2022 list levels but I simply can't just dismiss everything wrong with the hitboxes and base level design. Let's start with the obvious. This level looks unbelievably good. Like WOW you can tell years of creative growth went into perfecting every aspect of the decoration. There is not a single level on the servers that looks at all like this one and I don't think enough people notice and realize how hard it is to do that in this game, especially in a way that makes it so difficult for others to replicate. And the gameplay complements the unrelenting extreme feel so well too. The way the icon is thrown around this horrifyingly tight, overloaded, messy atomic factory hellscape adds that final sprinkle of grandure to create what is in my opinion the most naturally intimidating level in the game.
This intimidation is a large portion of why I enjoyed the level so much, or rather, the fact that I was able to overcome it really well. Being able to pull off these insanely difficult timings on a level which tries to show off just how difficult those timings really are is probably the peak of raw gameplay enjoyment in this game. So much so, that I decided to only play this at the times I felt most motivated to play the game to squeeze out as much enjoyment as I could from this miracle-like experience. Could I have beaten this WAY faster if I hadn't done so? Yes, I totally had the skill to beat this one and a half years ago, but even at that point I chose rationale, deciding to prioritise fun over achievement and I'd obviously do so again today on any experience similar to this. I never felt that sense of extreme difficulty change on any of my comebacks, in fact as I got more and more consistent I started enjoying the level even more as my performance became more like that of a macro, the final return being probably the best I've ever felt playing the game, getting to 50% nearly every single attempt on a level that still felt like it shouldn't be possible. How a level with no nostalgic value can make you feel this good at the game needs to be studied.
With that out of the way, for a level as hard as this decent raw gameplay is also obviously necessary, and Terminal sure as hell hit the mark for me in that department too. I'm honestly really surprised about how bad of a reputation the gameplay has considering how well made it is all around. I'd assume most of the gripes come from the insane number of 2.2 bugs found basically everywhere but that's on the players for not using good bugfixes (I was very close to having Xyriak update the level with mine but unfortunately he started ghosting right after I had sent him the copy ;-;). I found the raw gameplay to be as good as it gets for the difficulty with most of the drop segments being around the same difficulty with chokepoints being nicely spread all throughout. I also found the second half of the level to be much more difficult, but I personally find such balancing more satisfying so it didn't bother me, though I would be remiss not to mention 72% [🔥SKOK🔥] which is by far the hardest click in any level I've beaten. No idea how others don't see it as a major problem, it destroyed me in runs and from 0 like no click ever had before. Aside from that it really is the best you can get out of a top 75 in the big 2025.
Well, all in all this experience ended up being a lot cooler and grander than I had expected. I've never before taken so much enjoyment from values so subjective; I really don't think I would have liked this at all if I had played on any LDM. Unless I finish Mayhem, this will probably stay as my final list hardest, which I am finally satisfied with. It's got that final boss vibe and it fits me perfectly. Do note that I still find Renevant miles harder and consider it my personal hardest and best achievement by far, but I'm fine having this completion represent me as a player. Renevant is much more of a personal story anyway.
idk attempts (an insane number of crashes makes me unable to give any estimate, but if I had to say maybe around 45 thousand?) Enjoyment: 10/10 Furthest death: 95%
ruko demon :DSteel Terrors by DreamZoneGD (Extreme Demon)Browar2025-05-26 | New dreamzone hell yeah!!! A level like this is exactly what I was anticipating after I had finished work on conclusion and I must say playing it made me feel like I was reliving those great times again. I may have opted out of deeper involvement with the gameplay this time but it's fine since it turned out great in the end regardless. It's intense, has the signature perfected movement and all the clicks feel just right. Absolute cinema aside from a few inconsistencies.
Decoration is flames too, definitely the most polished feature length level of his with many many unique effects I love but ngl I'm not too fond of the colours in a few parts, the white contrast sometimes makes the blocks stray too close to the bad kind of messy styles. That's just a personal nitpick though truly nothing major. In short, level good go play.
Also this vid is a rebeat with all 3 coins since I didn't realize there was more than one at first lol.
713 attempts Enjoyment: 9.5/10 Furthest death: 87%UnConTrolled by Yerylik (Unrated Demon)Browar2025-05-17 | "The word con is almost synonymous with the name BrowarKedawar at this point, to the point where people actually thought he had already beaten this, but no! He had not." - AeonChair
With that mandatory stupidity out of the way, I was initially hella hyped when I stumbled upon a showcase of this level. A con inspired level aimed to be a low end extreme is not something I could not pass up on, so I went ahead and gave it a shot, hoping to also snag a fitting first victor title on this con for the people! Sadly it seems I got a bit too excited since yeah I didn't like this all too much. I would usually sum up my dislike of a level like this to personal preference but in this case I'm passionate enough to criticize and explain exactly what made me have so little fun with a level that's seemingly right up my alley.
- Lack of level identity. The creator adapted dreamzone's style really well, especially the gameplay style, but how well is too well? There's next to nothing interesting about the level that isn't ideas taken from the originals, which makes me appreciate those aspects less. I think it's fine and even cool that the level took that much inspiration considering how much I like the source material but since I have literally nothing interesting or overly positive to say about any other aspect it starts feeling like a waste of my time. - Bad shader usage. I know they're an easy way to make the level more intense but in this case it doesn't convey that dynamic feel of the style the creator was going for, and it makes some clicks magnitudes worse. I don't think shaders can't fit this style but this definitely isn't the way to execute them. - The ball part's dust bowl like memory effect is fundamentally abhorrent level design. Even though the gameplay is comparatively very easy and consistent, learning it and dying to it is always annoying. - Over-reliance on sync. Click patterns that match the song but not exactly respond to every beat are a staple of what makes the cons very enjoyable so adding so much pure sync to this gameplay style not only makes the parts less memorable but also less satisfying. Not to mention how the sync itself is nowhere near perfect in a lot of places making deaths at those off beat spots feel unfair. - Afwul optimization. Dreamzone himself can barely run the level which discouraged him from trying it. - A few bugs. Not a notably large amount, but they're there regardless and I have heightened senses for bugs in mixed gamemode gameplay like this. - This has probably the worst song I've ever had the displeasure of hearing in a difficult level. Not an actual critique but holyyy shiiit bossfight what have you turned into man
Wow that was much longer than I had expected. All of this makes it look like I hate the level or something but that really isn't the case. I'm glad a full heavily con inspired level exists as much as the other guy, but don't expect me to enjoy it when such a gigantic chunk of my enjoyment from levels comes from their ""artistic value"" (personality in this case, in short). I could recommend this to other con enjoyers since I really do mostly like the base gameplay and I know the way I view levels differs a ton from others.
Difficulty's probably hard-very hard tier on NLW. I tried to beat this in one sitting yesterday which was an idiotic move since I kept forgetting what to do and learnt the level very ineffectively so I'm not reliable at all, especially considering how I've found every level in the series super overrated thus far.
3077 attempts Enjoyment: 3/10 Furthest death: 93%Helix by Motu (Extreme Demon)Browar2025-05-02 | One of the best levels I've ever seen and a personal favourite of mine that I had to beat at some point to show my appreciation for it. Shocking it took so long to get rated, I'm glad the authoritative side of the game finally realized the stylistic purpose of this level's messiness and made the wider community aware of its beauty within. Every aspect of this level works in tandem to create a distinct playing and watching experience that fits the song absolutely perfectly and could work as the creator's showreel for goodness' sake. I can't do anything but praise Motu for putting so much time and passion into developing such a unique style put on full display by way of this level. Projects like these remind me why I love GD so darn much; the game is such a unique medium through which so many inimitable personal styles are born and exposed to an audience that honestly appreciates your work and consistently rewards you for trying your hardest and being creative. A community as talented and openly accessible yet very tight-knit and supportive really doesn't exist anywhere else at this scale and I'm glad to have contributed to it and experienced some of the best it has to offer firsthand :) tangent over in conclusion it's immersive peak but you probably wouldn't enjoy playing it nearly as much as I did.
1706 attempts Enjoyment: 10/10 Furthest death: 89%Instinct by ItsHybrid & more (Extreme Demon)Browar2025-04-21 | This level, alongside Reactor Core, are the two grand megacollabs I had been closely following for years and didn't believe would ever get released due to the costant postponements. So glad to be able to say that both of them came out in pretty much the best state they could have! I gave this level a shot immediately after it had released and poured a good few hours into it but ultimately I got sidetracked by other projects after coming to terms with it not placing (a shame, really). Felt like picking it back up again given the circumstances and it was pretty much as good as I had remembered, though unfortunately 35-50 didn't get any easier which is a shame, since it's the hardest part of the level by an insane margin. Pretty annoying to have a roadblock as huge as that right at the slowest and least memorable gameplay parts. Aside from that everything is top notch and a pleasure to go through and admire. Well done to everyone involved, it was a great but worthwhile effort!
Also, having beaten both I can now reliably state that Hybrid's version is a much better sequel in every way, fitting perfectly into that carelessly inconsistent yet memorable set of levels - one representing 2.0, the next early 2.1, and this one mid 2.1. The list worthy one feels moreso like a joke level that could have only been made in late 2.1, despite it looking really nice it doesn't suit the natural progression of the series nearly as well as this one and I'd rather treat it as a standalone level with its standalone charm and qualities.
5407 attempts Enjoyment: 8.5/10 Furthest death: 93%Instinct by Krazyman50 (Extreme Demon)Browar2025-04-10 | It's really hard for me to like this level which is such a shame. It fits me so well and has so many aspects, quirks, and details which I usually love and appreciate l but I have such a distaste towards the host and wholeheartedly spite how little respect the level pays towards the player. The gameplay could've legit been so good if they realized they had actually made a good ass standalone level and didn't turn it into an messy and unfunny joke at the end of production :/ I still enjoyed it a good amount since it didn't take me too long and it was super enjoyable playing this exclusively in calls but I couldn't recommend this to anyone at all. Hybrid's version works so much better as a sequel and is more enjoyable and tolerable in every way. Also this is probably my stupidest completion attempt ever, I cut out most of the stupid stuff to keep the completion at least a bit clean but I have genuinely no idea how I managed to beat it after that call and distraction from others.
6487 attempts Enjoyment: 6.5/10 Furthest death: 93%Asterios by Exen & more (Extreme Demon)Browar2025-04-03 | Not something I thought I'd ever be able to finish but I'm glad I picked it up again on a whim and found my recent skillboost in effect even with 2.1 physics. I've dropped this many times and struggled on it so much in the past due to so many factors. Be it (at first) 2.2 bugs, overly high expectations, inconsistency, and predominantly an amount of regular bugs only rivaled by springtime, it felt like I was destined to never finish it. If someone with my skillset found it boring on top of all the stuff I just mentioned wouldn't be surprised if they called it the worst level in the game lol. Yet I can't really call the gameplay bad either? Like sure it makes no sense sometimes but I believe it's these types of timings I'm just really bad at, especially considering how the drop was easily the hardest part for me, with the predrop mostly being an afterthought. Impessive how much a level with the blessing of zero ship control can still go against my skillset. Exen's gameplay style is at least very appealing visually and I'm able to appreciate everything else about the level, especially the earlier space themed parts and Buragoz's iconic ending sequence. It's one of the last remaining very hard levels of its time and a well organized project to be appreciated and remembered. Even though some parts are a bit dated (and Baker's part didn't make the final cut... at least it lives on in the thumbnail) it still has tons of character and charm, just don't play it on 2.2 under any circumstance, I mean it more than ever this time.

422 attempts Enjoyment: 9.5/10 Furthest death: 63%Ascension by Kolros716 (Extreme Demon)Browar2025-03-15 | Started playing this in practise a bunch as warmup recently and not long after I began to fully appreciate it and gave it a proper go. Kolros's style fits so well into this extra long experience with all the climaxes hitting so damn hard. It's clearly a passion project but not one that cheaply sacrifices quality to build up atmosphere, leaving you questioning the level's quality. Here, the shifts in quality actually match the song's intensity and feel which is pretty damn hard to manage in something as ambitious as this. The decoration itself is also really good and pleasant to watch, thank goodness there's at least some levels released in 2.2 which aren't filled with the new obnoxious features that came with the update. Gameplay's pretty fine too, suprisingly engaging for a level of this length in this difficulty range, though it is bound to make you a bit frustrated by your deaths from time to time due to the long wait between good attempts. I'd highly recommend checking out this underplayed masterpiece!
2077 attempts Enjoyment: 8.5/10 Furthest death: 84%reset your mind by fursona (Extreme Demon)Browar2025-03-11 | Didn't really care all too much about this one until yesterday evening, when I watched the full level with the intended song for the first time and yeaaaah I instantly knew I had to beat it the next day. PEAK tunes and song representation especially for 1.9 intensity limitations. Was easier to learn than I had expected but in return was very hard from 0.
1756 attempts Enjoyment: 9/10 Furthest death: 82%Coral Cave by awesomeme360 & Gnamolor (Extreme Demon)Browar2025-03-10 | Really cool level with a really nicely executed theme. I started it soon after it got rated, on track to become the 2nd victor but the level was so buggy back then that I dropped it as I wasn't making steady enough progress, and by the time the creator gave me the pass to make a bugfix update I was already busy with other projects and never got around to it until now. It may have been a really quick experience and unexpected comeback but I still really enjoyed it as the base gameplay is just insanely well made, though the high CPS made some of the later parts much harder to pull off from 0. I was able to notice many more issues this time around but none of them really got on my nerves aside from the very beginning of the cave part. It's definitely one of the best levels on the list no matter your skill level as even if you're unable to beat it you'll surely get much better by playing it. Recommended for fast clickers
Sadly had to rebeat this as shadowplay muted my mic for no reason 2 minutes before the completion, made a cut right after the level complete screen to the OG completion where I show my accurate level stats. The Gins II by Doggie (Extreme Demon)Browar2025-03-06 | Very fun, has really good movements and is another very nice take on this song's representation. Has innate desync issues, decent decoration and very unmemorable gameplay. Basically all of the qualities to make you forget your completion ever faster. I myself only beat it to finish off every extreme with this song, but still enjoyed it and could recommend it if you're really interested in it for whatever reason, just prepare for arduous monotony if you get stuck on it for too long.

Luckily I had heard of the dangers of this level so I set mine extremely low which made me enjoy it for the most part, even if most of my drop deaths were to bugs. Also it turns out this is my 200th extreme so that's pretty cool!!!
785 attempts Enjoyment: 8.5/10 Furthest death: 74%Xronier by JinoBeats (Extreme Demon)Browar2025-02-28 | This level is a must try for everyone. I wanted to check out another shorter extreme after citra since it went so well and this exceeded my already very high expectations. It's geometry masterclass in its purest form with hella clean designs and constant standout click patterns, it's also probably the only level I believe would be better suited if it were harder since less leeway could make the gameplay even more rewarding and satisfying. I sadly got really unlucky on this, choking a possible sub 1k completion but I enjoyed it to its fullest nontheless. Again, if you're reading this and are at the skill level to beat mid-tier extemes you _really_ should try this one out.

Amazing to play for the most part, though you can clearly see his style still had not fully developed at this point. Makes me wonder how good bang bang could've been given his steady improvement.
680 attempts Enjoyment: 9.5/10 Furthest death: 74%CITRA by VARSE (Extreme Demon)Browar2025-02-22 | I'm extremely surprised to see myself with this completion under my belt, let alone this fast but I sure am glad I decided to finally give it a shot as a warmup-turned-main project. This level honestly doesn't even suit my skillset for the most part but god is it perfect for my eyesight problems, most structures are so nicely contrasted which make them actually fully visible and the clicks totally skill based, and when it gets too flashy you can just rely on click patterns like at the 50% ufo and 65% wave. I felt like I was using my actual true potential and so despite my general lack of satisfaction playing hard gameplay as of late, I had a blast learning and getting consistent at this. I don't even feel like the fluke is all too unexpected as I had reached seemingly max consistency right after finishing learning it and there's nothing RNG past the 65% wave, so it's nice that I actually managed to pull it off.
I must also comment on how good of a solo project this level is. It's a clear culmination of every strength of the creator's past works packed into such a memorable and fun to pull off level. I don't usually beat hard levels as "farm" as this due to personal dissatisfaction but I'm totally happy having this on my profile since everything about the level itself is just gangsta there's no better way to describe it. Would recommend even though 2.2 made some stuff a little bit jank, it's very avoidable and even fixable if you wish to do so.

To call this completion a relief would be a massive understatement. My story with this level first began right after its release way over 2 years ago, where I was one of the first people to figure out the puzzle and do any sort of progress. I didn't actually play it that much, but was very involved in gatekeeping the solution for a whole 4 months, which I would certainly consider a success and it made for some fun times and good memories. Over the years I periodically checked up on the level every now and then, with me never really being able to get significant progress despite much effort.
As of recent I really have not been enjoying beating hard levels in this game. This is due to a mix of many different factors such as eyesight & health problems + some other stuff, which piled up to a deep lack of enjoyment of achieving goals and playing difficult levels in GD which I have never ever felt before. As a result I've been scrambling to finish the few last remaining hard levels I have very high interest in before my motivation potentially runs out. This made finishing TAotB a massive chore and given just how much this level goes against my skillset I often preferred to do anything but open the level, and by extension, the game. Thankfully I just so happened to have a really pleasant day yesterday which gave me massive motivation to push through the pure boredom and finish it in one big grind. Got astronomically unlucky too but that's a norm I've settled with a long time ago, I'm just glad it's finally done.
With all that negative rambling about my experience out of the way, there are still so many aspects of this level left for me to praise. To think this whole project was pulled off in just under a week is honestly incomprehensible. Every single thing in this level is flawlessly executed, except partially the gameplay. In any other case, I'd call gp like this a criminal offense but the way it represents the theme is something I've never seen pulled off so well to this extent. It feels like you're some animated disney ninja character jumping and flying though seemingly impossible obstacles, making it through by the skin of your teeth every time (mbed's part does this exceptionally well). This makes the completion attempt where it all lines up perfectly that much more rewarding and is the main reason I enjoyed it for most of the time I've spent playing it. All that, as well as the personal connection with this level's history made this my highest priority level to finish, though It's a shame that the recent comeback tainted my experience as much as it did. At least I got paid doe :v

I have been closely following this level's development ever since the first layout previews in 2019 and damn was the wait and delay worth it. The mixing of distinct styles coupled with insane polishing, an amazing song, one of the best lineups ever put together, and some of the highest quality parts ever made all in one giant 4.5 minute experience what more could you ever ask for. Even despite its high polish it is still able to retain that distinct vibe of the mid 2.1 megacollabs I grew up with and adore. My only complaint about the decoration process in this level is replacing Walroose's part with whatever that... thing... is, but luckily I can sort of glance past that since Helpe's part is my favourite decoration in any level ever and already redeems all potential flaws. Props to all who put in real effort to make this level what it is today.
My experience, however, was a pretty different story as I had to beat it 3 seperate times due to recording failures, getting unlucky every single time all in different ways. This and underestimating the level's difficulty made it a hell of a struggle and bore to play but I still enjoyed it in the end and would definitely recommend this to everyone.

At times I struggled to believe I was playing geometry dash despite this being a very pure GD styled level it's that immersive lol. Can't give this a 10 in enjoyment since I got suuuuper unlucky & the strobes really hindered my ability to stay focused but it's insane how the seemingly RNG blind clicks got 100% consistent in a matter of minutes. Really recommend to try this out if it appeals to you and to my korean friends you guys need to make a [Gang] out of this level it deserves it so much.
