And with Sonic Origins getting an expansion with Sonic Origins Plus and Sonic Frontiers getting Update 2... I played neither of them.For Sonic Frontiers, I haven't touched it in months, even after Update 1, I barely touched it, but what I saw from Update 2, I might be tempted to get back to it... I just did everything before said updates, I had no motivation to return since... really, I'm just aimlessly moving in the open world without an actual objective besides trying to have some fun moving around. Most of my fun came from messing with what little the combat had to offer and speedrunning Cyberspace levels...And Sonic Origins Plus... yeah, what of it lol. Amy is nice on paper, but she's mostly a gimped Sonic 3 Sonic with some... questionable sprite work. And Game Gear games... badly emulated Game Gear Games... for 10 euros... I'm really not that grateful of a Sonic fan now, am I?So, to be more positive, what I am always eager when it comes to Sonic related media is the Sonic fangame community. And well, Sonic Legends just released an Alpha Demo and honestly it has seen a huge glowup. It's a short demo, but it really sells you on the premise and gameplay, despite not shaking much the tried and true formula. And while I dislike playing the original Sonic 06 even on an emulator (I tried, despite not encountering glitches or game breaking bugs), the overall controls, game feel and just certain game design choices make for a dull if not downright frustrating Sonic game, everything I said about the original gane doesn't apply here.So it is that much more amazing and praise worthy that the total remake of Sonic 06, in the form of Project 06 (referred to as Sonic P-06) is that much more fun to play and one of my favorite Sonic fangames to date, up there with the likes of Sonic Robo Blast 2, Sonic BTS & ATS and Sonic GT. I Put Stains Of Time Over MotorStorm: Apocalypse And... Marius Urucu 2023-04-09 | Motorstorm Apocalypse is another case of an inovative and downright cool arcade racing game that bombed terribly sales wise, but now with the extra benefit of being exclusive to PS3, which only hurt its popularity in the long run. I Put The Most Anime Transformers OP Music Over Split/Second And... Marius Urucu 2023-03-23 | There is a good chance this music swap might be copyright claimed by YouTube, they already hit the "Find Your Flame Over Split/Second" and "Undefeatable Over Transformers Devastation", but dammit I always wanted to use this song in a video and now I have the perfect chance. Bought it on a whim last Christmas not expecting much, ended up putting 36 hours into it and finishing the game and unlocking all weapons.Aztez is probably one of the most underappreciated beat 'em ups. Despite the amazing combat with tons of depth, from a casual perspective it's either a button masher or Dark Souls levels of unfair, with no inbetween.Personally I think it teaches the player everything they need to know and actively encourages you to experiment and be stylish, with tons of weapons, each feeling unique and having different properties that makes experimentation that much more fun.This is just a collection of clips from some of my sessions. SRB2 Is Still The Best Sonic Game Propaganda Marius Urucu 2023-03-10 | Is the YouTube title intentionally inflammatory to get views? Absolutely, but not disingenuous coming from me. I find it increasingly difficult to replay Sonic games, no matter how critically acclaimed, from the classic Sonic games and Sonic Mania all the way to modern 3D games like Unleashed and Generations and even the recently released Sonic Frontiers. Granted when you play the same game over and over again you tend to get bored and or sick of it, that's a given. And even the amazing Sonic community can't make much of it if you're someone like me too invested into the Sonic community for their own good (Sonic Frontiers modding is still in its infancy so I'll reserve my judgement for its long term replayability).But Sonic Robo Blast 2, or more specifically the 2.2 version, I can always return to and never get bored of, be it the main campaign or the plethora of stages and mods that completely change your experience. And I get it, I'm a broken record at this point for shilling hard for SRB2, I'll never convince younger Sonic fans, let alone people outside the Sonic fandom, to try out SRB2, it's a niche Sonic fangame for momentum and game feel obsessed weirdos like me. But you'd think with the amount of effort, dedication and creativity the community for this old Sonic fangame has, it would've garnered more attention from other YouTubers, Sonic fans or not.I mean, the only character mod used in this video is a lua script (link below) that adds default Sonic a customizable dashmode that you can edit yourself and still makes the gameplay feel balanced while not completely breaking it. This simple mod reshaped how I approach SRB2 when playing and reminded me why I enjoy it so much. It's the sheer versatility of the gameplay, helped by just how moddable the Doom legacy engine is, which gives it an edge over any other Sonic game, official or fanmade. Split/Second But Its Find Your Flame From Sonic Frontiers Marius Urucu 2023-03-07 | The sequel to the video nobody asked for, in which I put Sonic Frontiers titan music over random racing games of my choosing, in this case Split/Second Velocity, to try and make them as hype as possible. Why it took me over 1 month make another one after the first one where I used Undefeatable... lack of inspiration and motivation but I'm starting to get my groove back. This time I used Find Your Flame over Dry Docks Elite race and honestly I think it fits like a glove.Now to make this video even more spicier, I used the Split/Second Ultimate community imported DLC from the console version of the game that never made it to the PC version, which has improved audio as well as new cars. I Put Sonic Frontiers Music Over Art Of Rally Because I Just Wanna Vibe Marius Urucu 2023-02-26 | I'll also add the fact that I'm stressed and apparently racing games are my anti-anxiety pill, hence the lack of content. Why am I stressed? Besides work, I'm just not cut out for doing YouTube full time, nor do I want to brand myself beyond "some Romanian dude that plays the games he likes and is a Sonic fan". And I want to make that painfully clear, because I get approached by indie devs on my Twitter to showcase their games to boost their exposure, which I can perfectly understand... except I'm not that kind of content creator. I want to promote the games I like because I want to, not out of obligation. Makes me feel retroactively worse when I refuse them, because I can totally understand the struggles of indie developers getting traction for their games.Speaking of indie games, Pizza Tower. It's an amazing game. It also doesn't help with my anxiety, seeing as Pepino is the literal poster boy for stress and anxiety, doubly so if you're trying to get P ranks, which are very hard, hence why I missed out on it when it launched. I mention this because Pizza Tower exploded in popularity over night (which I'm glad) but also makes me sad that equally deserving indie games, namely Freedom Planet 2 and Spark TEJ 3, hasn't gotten the same love (less so for Spark 3 as it gotten some love too as of late but nowhere near Pizza Tower). Me covering Pizza Tower right now could've helped a lot with my dying channel... but I just don't enjoy it as much as everyone else, since P ranking the stages feels more frustrating than fun to me and I don't have the energy to be good or a pro at every game I play.Doing YouTube in general as of now is more about trends and popular games, even among indie games and it genuinely angers me. This isn't a 1 to 1 port of Unleashed Sonic into P-06 mind you, but it's close enough. It's more of a hybrid between p-06 Sonic and Unleashed Sonic. He has the boost (mapped to RT), slide, side-step and drift (mapped to the Y button of all things), but also retain the bounce move (cannot boost out of a bounce only homing dash), spindash and has P-06 Sonic's turning, but keeps momentum after a jump like Unleashed Sonic. Also no stomp... which is an odd decision.I honestly would've thought this would make the core gameplay terribly unbalanced and to a certain extent it might be, but it's actually more balanced than I thought it would. Boosting is for all intents and purposes, more of a liability, especially given how the base game handles collision and slopes, in cramped spaces especially it will get you killed, but since there are certain limitations to make it more balanced (no air boosting after a bounce or fall, only after an active jump). I Put Undefeatable Over Split/Second And... Marius Urucu 2023-02-05 | If there was any time where my channel has reached a point where you can tell I don't even know what I'm even doing anymore and I'm just making stuff up as I go along, this is now the perfect moment. Since a lot of you enjoyed the video where I put "Break Through It All" over Need For Speed Hot Pursuit gameplay, thought I'd try out another song from Sonic Frontiers over Split/Second Velocity, since it was mentioned in the comments. Split/Second deserved more... and we were robbed of a sequel...As for the video, I actually didn't knew what to upload... I initially wanted to put my blind playthrough of Hi-Fi Rush but decided to scrap it since I wasn't proud of the footage, as well as being unmotivated to make content in the week or so break between my last upload. Combat really does open up once you unlock more moves.As far as action games go, this is really solid. Enemies are varied and aren't pushovers and having to juggle enemies and combo them on the beat of the music is super addicting.This isn't combo mad expert gameplay here, but I hope I can sell you on the game. This is after about 3 hours or so and I'm only at the 4th level. It's very rare you see a studio reveal a trailer for a game as soon as it launches, especially for an unknown project despite being published under Bethesda and Shinji Mikami of all people being on the dev team, the genius mastermind behind Resident Evil 4, Vanquish and Evil Within 1 and 2.I love action games and I love games with a vibrant colorful artstyle, if Transformers Devastation being one of my all time favorite games is anything to go by. Hi-Fi Rush feels like a game made for me specifically. I especially love the art style and dialogue, it really feels like it's pulled out of my memories watching a Cartoon Network show on a Saturday morning. Chai, the main protagonist gives me Generator Rex vibes and that's a good thing to me.And the dialogue, I don't even find it (and I hate using this word) "cringe", if anything I find it endearing and fitting with the whole aesthetic, unlike another game that clashes with its aesthetic... I mention this because some people can't tell the difference between genuine heartfelt cheesy dialogue and snarky almost self-deprecating dialogue that doesn't even respect its audience.I hope the game gets a lot more in depth with the moves and combos, but what I've played so far I was smiling the whole way through. Sonic Frontiers, NOW WITH BETTER GRAPHICS, LOD AND NO MORE POP-IN!!! Marius Urucu 2023-01-22 | Sonic Frontiers is pretty ambitious in its scale compared to previous Sonic ganes, but it's not without its faults. Mainly the constant asset pop-in and limited LOD (Level of Detail) on distant objects. This is a pretty reoccurring complaint across multiple Sonic Frontiers reviews and one I agree with myself. You'd think at least on PC, there would be some sliders in the graphics options menu, but no, they're completely missing.Thankfully, modders have managed to crack the game's code and increase those values and Sonic Frontiers greatly benefits from this. This Star Light Zone Remake Looks CLEAN - Sonic Outbound New Years Demo Marius Urucu 2023-01-06 | Sonic Outbound demo page:sonicfangameshq.com/forums/showcase/sonic-outbound-new-years-demo.1565I remember Sonic Outbound being featured at SAGE 22 but I haven't featured it on my channel and for a good reason. This fangame gave me errors upon booting it... for some reason. Now this demo, doesn't have that problem, so I can actually play it this time around. Don't know about the previous demo, so look up other channels that covered it because you get no luck from me. Also, the spritework despite the familiar level looks clean, even more fluid and vibrant than Sonic Mania.Now for the things unrelated to the mod and video. After some long and hard thinking, as well as a break where I pondered what the heck should I do with my channel going forward... I still don't have an answer.
