Each beacon is a dual aspect 8" red beacon, and there are four of them, two of each sharing a mast arm, which all share the same pole. These used to be partially yellow incandescent poly Safetran or ICC beacons until they got replaced. Older Displaced Turn Signal Intersection in Quebec City. Green Light & Green Arrow Studios 2024-04-18 | Originally filmed on August 21, 2023 at the intersection of Boul Henri-Bourassa and Av Isaac Bédard in Quebec City, Quebec.This intersection is the result of two nearly parallel streets (Boul Henri-Bourassa and Av Isaac Bédard) merging into one (Boul Henri-Bourassa). This intersection is located just south of the two streets merging. North of this intersection, Boul Henri-Bourassa is a one way North, and Av Isaac Bédard is a one way South. South of this intersection, both roads are two ways. This intersection is used as a left turn for southbound traffic that wants to stay on Boul Henri-Bourassa, and is also used to divert all northbound traffic from Av Isaac Bédard onto Boul Henri-Bourassa, just before the two roads merge.It's kind of complicated. This intersection is always green for the highway unless a bus is waiting to turn from (southbound), or into (westbound) Laval University. Then the signals change and display the Quebec spec protected transit signals.Northbound also has a right turn transit signal as shown in the beginning, and it usually stays on unless the light is changed or a pedestrian wants to cross.The horizontal bar is the equivalent of a red light. The Triangle is equivalent of a yellow light. New Highway Ramp Signals with Lots of Arrows! Green Light & Green Arrow Studios 2024-04-05 | Originally filmed on August 21, 2023 at the intersection of Chem. des Quatre-Bourgeois and Autoroute Henri-IV southbound off ramp.Here are some new traffic lights at the southbound off ramp of Autoroute Henri-IV and Quatre-Bourgeois! There were no signals here before. The phasing and layout is very cool! It has a 3 stage pedestrian crosswalk!Westbound gets the thru and right arrows while the two crosswalks to cross the off ramp go on walk while the crosswalk for the on ramp is on hand. If the button is pushed for the ped phase to cross the on ramp, just before the countdown finishes for the two crosswalks on the on ramp, the right turn signal terminates and that crosswalk gets their phase while thru traffic continues. Once the crosswalk terminates the right turn signal goes green again. Once the thru arrows for Quatre-Bourgeois terminate, the right turn signal stays green while the off ramp gets protected left and right arrows, as well as the walk phase, since it is cleverly placed in-between the left and right turn lanes. After the ped and clearance and the off ramp signs terminate, the sequence repeats.The only things I don't like about this intersection are how to cross the off and on ramps, you have to wait a full cycle if you are crossing westbound, and the fact that eastbound traffic is first stopped for a few seconds while there are no conflicts. This is done for coordination purposes but I think I personally think it should turn green immediately to get traffic to the next intersection faster.Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoy!Stay happy and safe! ^w^

Once Westbound phase terminates Northbound gets protected right and left arrows while Eastbound gets a right turn overlap. Once northbound phase terminates the sequence repeats. Green Light & Green Arrow Studios 2024-03-29 | Originally filmed on August 21, 2023 at the intersection of Bd du Versant N and Rue De Lestres in Quebec City, Quebec.This intersection features an odd number of pedestrian signals and buttons, resulting in what seems like a one way crosswalk! I found this very strange! If that wasn't strange enough, this intersection actually used to have 4 pedestrian signals in total, with the same amount of buttons and crosswalks, which I find even more strange! I can see why they added the 5th one.The vehicle signal sequence here is permissive green, followed by lagging advanced green and overlap for the side road, then permissive side road phase with right turn overlap for the main road. Illegal and Malfunctioning Bimodal Left Arrow in Montreal. The left arrow activates after the signal turns red, then changes to amber before shutting off, but sometimes the green arrow doesn't activate until half a second before the amber arrow turns on! Very Strange Offset Intersection with 80s GE Gentrols! Green Light & Green Arrow Studios 2024-03-13 | Originally filmed on August 20, 2023 at the intersection of Champlain Blvd at Rue Centrale and Av Gerald in Montreal, Quebec.Here is another intersection with beloved Gentrols! This time featuring some from the 1980s. The layout of this intersection is very strange to say the least. I've always been curious about the phasing at this intersection.It is SO refreshing to see a fully incandescent intersection of Gentrols still in service! It's like taking a time machine back to the 1980-1990s.How I think the phasing works is Champlain Blvd gets the permissive green and ped to cross Av Gerald, then Northbound Champlain Blvd gets halted for Northbound Rue Centrale to proceed. Then Southbound Champlain Blvd (as well as the ped phase to cross Av Gerald) gets halted for the southern ped phase to cross ONLY Champlain Blvd while Northbound Rue Centrale still proceeds. Split Phasing Intersection with Odd Doghouse in Cortland. Green Light & Green Arrow Studios 2024-03-06 | Originally filmed on August 16, 2023 at the intersection of Main St and Groton Ave in Cortland, NY.Here is a very interesting intersection that runs split phasing, featuring a very odd doghouse! Eastbound has two signals, the doghouse and the 3 section, the doghouse having left and thru arrows and the 3 section having a right arrow. Both of the amber sections on the doghouse are balls, which is really interesting. Westbound has a seperate right turn arrow section, which only activates when southbound gets the green. Main St south of the intersection is a one way south, so there is no northbound direction here. The pedestrian phase is exclusive, probably to no one's surprise at this point.The vehicle signals here are 8 LFE, with the exception of the 12-8-8-8-8 doghouse and the seperate 12" turn arrow, and the pedestrian signals are 9" worded T-Con!Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoy!Stay happy and safe! ^w^

Incandescent TCT Signals Featuring Two 12-8-8-8-8 Doghouses! All of the signals are 8" except the doghouses, which feature 12" red indications. I believe the arrows activate every cycle. This intersection also has an exclusive pedestrian phase, with new pedestrian signals! The old pedestrian signals were 9" worded signals, and the intersection actually used to have a total of 5 pedestrian signals, which is really strange! Very Odd Offset Intersections in Syracuse NY! Green Light & Green Arrow Studios 2024-02-27 | Originally filmed on August 15, 2023 at the intersection of Tompkins St and Lowell Ave in Syracuse, NY.This intersection is very offset, so much so that you might consider it two different intersections. These two intersections are controlled by two 4 way cluster signals, one being Crouse-Hinds, one being Marbelite. When the signals for Tompkins St turn red, the inner signals flash red. This is to tell drivers turning left to stop before proceeding yielding to cross traffic.This intersection still runs off of a mechanical controller, which was much quieter than I imagined. The Pedestrian Signals at the Tipperary Hill Intersection. Six of them are Crouse-Hinds 9" peds, while two are very rare Marbelite 9" peds.As seen in the video, a fair amount of bulbs are not working at this intersection at the time I filmed it. The Infamous Tipperary Hill Upside Down Traffic Light! I finally got to visit the legendary Tipperary Hill "upside down" traffic light!If you don't already know about this signal, here is a little bit of history for you! (feel free to correct me if wrong)Back in the day, when the area of Tipperary Hill got a traffic signal, the Irish settlers didn't like how the green was on the bottom. They said it as England over Ireland. They protested for the lights to be switched, and many protests involved throwing rocks at the red light. T-Junction with Interesting Signals in Ithaca, NY! Green Light & Green Arrow Studios 2024-02-19 | Originally filmed on August 15, 2023 at the intersection of College Ave and Campus Rd in Ithaca, NY!This T-Junction intersection is very interesting! The side street has two 8-8-12s, with arrows facing left and right. The main street has 8" signals and a 8-8-8-12 which does a leading left arrow. The pedestrians get an exclusive pedestrian phase here, along with countdown on walk! This intersection has three uniquely positioned ped signals, with the countdown housing being completely seperate from the hand/man signal.Unfortunately the old signals here got replaced. The signal here were incandescent 16" peds, which were paired with the 12" countdowns before, explaining the odd way it's positioned. Ped Reservice Causes Potentially Dangerous Countdown Malfunction. Green Light & Green Arrow Studios 2024-02-17 | Originally filmed on August 15, 2023 at the intersection of Meadow St and Fairgrounds Memorial Pkwy in Ithaca, NY.This intersection features ped reservice for the main street, however this can only happen once per cycle. The ped clearance here is 20. If the ped signal gets reserviced it confuses the countdown module into thinking the countdown is 40, but then causes it to shut off at 20 anyway when the hand stops flashing, even if it goes back to walk. This could be very dangerous if it may make pedestrians think they have more time to cross than they actually do.I do not know exactly why the countdown modules do that, because here in Toronto they go back to walk all the time at semi actuated intersections, and the countdown still works properly. Leading Pedestrian Interval in Downtown Ithaca. Aurora St turns into a one way Northbound at this intersection, so traffic traveling North can go straight or turn right via the right turn channel, and Westbound traffic can turn left or right. Odd Intersection in Downtown Ithaca. Green Light & Green Arrow Studios 2024-02-09 | Originally filmed on August 15, 2023 at the intersection of Green St and Cayuga St in Ithaca, NY!Here is an odd intersection in downtown Ithaca with three directions! Cayuga St is a one way North, and Green St is a one way East, only on the West side of the intersection, so traffic traveling West has to turn right. This intersection could use some improvements. The main things I would fix is having the walk activate on the south crosswalk during the East/West phase and have the walk activate on the west crosswalk for the North phase, there are no conflicts so they should be on walk! T-Junction Featuring an MUTCD Violator Signal! Green Light & Green Arrow Studios 2024-02-05 | Originally filmed on August 14, 2023 at the intersection of Clinton Ave and Byron St in Rochester, NY.This intersection has 4 section which violates the MUTCD because of how it operates. Infact it used to be worse. The amber section used to not exist, having the signal only have a red, and two bimodal arrows facing opposing directions. This should be fixed by having the red amber and left arrow sections sequencing together, and the right arrow staying bimodal like it is now. This intersection also has Fortran pedestrian signals which is nice!This intersection has an odd walk phase if you push the button too late. Both left and right arrows will activate, then the right arrow will turn off and the red ball will turn (on for some reason) and then the peds go on walk. Partially Incandescent Econolite Bubblebacks (Crash Heard at End of Video) Green Light & Green Arrow Studios 2024-02-03 | Originally filmed on August 14, 2023 at the intersection of Goodman St at the north Keeler St Expressway ramp in Rochester, NY.This intersection features partially incandescent Econolites, most have incandescent amber, and either an incandescent red or green. I believe this setup is from the 90s though I'm unsure.You can hear two vehicles colliding close to the end of the video at 5:27, which I saw from the corner of my eye. I barely saw the red car spin around right as they crashed. Unfortunately this was not caught in the video visually. Partially Incandescent and Horizontal Traffic Signals at an underpass. This intersection features two horizontal signals, because of the overpass. Pedestrian Activated Signal on a 90° Turn! There are two crosswalks at this signal, which is really cool!
