This is a vastly improved new version of my previous Axelay OST remaster. It is utilizing a brand new percussion handling technique I have developed over the past year, and has also received minor instrumentation tweaks and many assorted technical corrections. Enjoy!

A Super Castlevania IV Prototype was leaked in 2020. The soundtrack consists of work-in-progress versions of songs that ended up in the final release version of the game, plus one song that never saw the light of day. Most songs have additional material that was either cut or modified for the final release.

I discovered two (potentially-previously unknown) musical easter eggs while working on this soundtrack: * A Submerging Titan has a hidden 10-second trumpet riff at 8:00 - 8:10 in the original game audio file. The MIDI file was shortened to include this riff at 13:22. ** Blast Rock has a hidden ending to the track from 16:39 - 16:47 in the original game audio file. It is an homage to the game over tune THE END OF A WAR from the arcade version of R-Type. The MIDI file was shortened to include this ending at 30:52.

I was surprised to learn recently that the CD soundtrack for this game is itself just midi played on a nicer-than-average sound device and saved as audio tracks on the CD. I have only ever played the game using midi playback, and expected a live recording for the CD audio tracks similar to how Warcraft II did it.
I've been using VirtualMidiSynth for several years now to play all my of old midi files. The Tzar soundtrack is one where Timbres Of Heaven makes a huge difference in the quality of the music, as the soundtrack is very well written to begin with and takes full advantage of the MIDI format.

A car kept harrassing me as I tried to drive around. I got fed up, and let him do his thing. Then, when it seemed I might be able the back away, Carma kicked in and he got what he deserved.
