Rozi says: It was so great to work with jack again for this video . I love his witty eye and resourceful attitude. I’d thought about a spinning platform and jack had a friend who’d made one! We drove around some scorched heathland in dartford and found a place to set up . Kate was the perfect up for it co pilot and someone I can stare at in the face for a long time - it was a really lovely day !

Oligarchs leave empty husks
Leave our cities all used up
Penetrate the mantle crust
Sythen out every last drop
And there is no urgency
They keep on snatching defeat from the jaws of victory
Red flags that your passing , there's no sense of urgency. Seven Trumpets!
Snug inside the gallery
Spectator sports. An Apathy
Conservative with a small 'c'
Help 'em dig
The English disease
They are a sleep walking breed.
They discontinued the line
Went rolling around in the rubble
I wasn't looking for trouble
and what i found it was mine
I ain't the worst of my kind
and i doubt that I'm alone
That there's a palindrome
and that's an alternative fact
Start the attack
Singular mission
I got your back
Give what you can give them
Blunt instruments
I got a primitive science
That stopped my fingers from shaking
Took it to the congregation
It struck a chord with the riff raff
I was dusting for prints...
with abstract impressionists
No noisy clerics or buildings
or architectural crimes
Perfect Design
Compromised the crime scene yeah i was dusting for prints
Don't make much sense
compromised the crime scene yeah i was dusting for prints
redacted documents
compromised the crime scene yeah i was dusting for prints
Don't make much sense
Blunt instruments

Grow my hair and leave my job
Then show up saying ‘thud’
We’ll show the world your power’s absurd
The system is a dud
Act normal as can be
Keep notes and try to breathe
We’ll hold onto our stories
while you’re jangling the keys
Your motives might be good
Trying to help as best you could
But connecting is too threatening
So we can’t be understood
The damage done is real
But act out how we feel
You’ll say it’s still because we’re ill
Your power’s being repealed
Are you infallible?
Or just gullible?
We’re waiting here to find you out
The people here with me
Would gladly set me free
But you’re the ones with all the clout
Being sane in insane places
Take that look off your faces
Too long here and I’ll start to
Feel the panic
Feel the panic
Being sane in insane places
Wipe that smirk off your faces
Much longer now and I will
Feel the panic
Feel the panic
You said you’d been caught out
Send more, we’ll weed them out
We’re people who’ve just had it tough
And filled your minds with doubt
Real sadness is a curse
But you can make it worse
If you delight in being right,
No, listening comes first
So if you know it all
You’re heading for a fall
We cannot wait to see you go
The tables turning yeah
Does it get us anywhere
To kick you and enjoy the blow?
Being sane in insane places
Take that look off your faces
Too long here and I’ll start to
Feel the panic
Feel the panic
Being sane in insane places
Wipe that smirk off your faces
Much longer now and I will
Feel the panic
Feel the panic

How long can a fact last?
You've got me thinking and smiling
You've got racking my brain
Interrogating my memory
You don't need to tell me again
My views are not inconsistent
Relying on certitude
You make me rethink my method
I just hope you don't think I'm rude.
Belief is not a substitute for the facts
Despite what you may be led to believe.
Instinctively, the heart leads you to react
But a message from the gut is quick to deceive
How long can a fact last?
Five years elapsed
And half my expertise collapsed
l wasn't able to react
But my emotions are intact now!
Another dawn gives us
Unvarnished hope
And what was true today
Could make us look like fools tomorrow
You tell me:
Rethink my education
But it's not in my field of view
And if I don't get the update
What do you expect me to do?
Involved in a conversation
With myself and my former views
Upgrading all my opinions
The only certain aspect is you.
Belief is not a substitute for the facts...
Another dawn...
I will wait for you like you asked me to.
This discovery will not fade from me.
I will wait for you...
A film collaboration by illustrator Josie Brookes and Animator Tom Madge of AnimateCity.
"The View From Nowhere" refers to the mid-century approach to psychotherapy which required the therapist to remove the ‘self’ from their view of the patient. Josie Brookes and Tom Madge responded to the struggle inherent within this idea and the pulsating ebb and flow of both the music, and the personal narrative within the lyrics.
The finished video was created using 2D stop-motion animation with Emma Pollock’s performance cut from printed film stills. The undulating head belongs with, but is at odds with, Josie’s bold sequences of geometric print. Together they push and pull with the song to explore ideas of identity and someone working to separate themselves from their humanity.

Lyrics:
I keep my habits and my fears well fed
I take my coffee with existential dread
Pre-packaged sandwiches and substance abuse
Don’t need a helping hand from fatalist news
Watch my red lines, they’re moving again like a descending sunset
Where you can dance off the existential dread
I take my tablets like a new eucharist
This cult of optimism feels like a glitch
The sky is swelling with the fear it emits
It’s gonna overflow like urinal...
I get the glitch and sweep it under the bed with the compulsions and dread
And I just dance off the existential dread
